The whole truth: I hate buying cars (especially used) and I kinda hate used-car salesmen. I shared a house with one for six months and I genuinely think he was a sociopath: it's left a (psycological) scar. So I approach every interaction with his kind with extreme suspicion. That's how I felt driving up to SF to view a Nissan Leaf we liked the look of on their website. Green Light could not have been more of a breath of fresh air. We looked around the cars in the lot entirely unhassled by the sales team. No smell of sleaze as the sharks circle their prey. We had to go into the office to ask for the keys to looks inside the one we like, even then we were left completely alone to - y'know - make our own d*mn minds up. We took the car for a test drive ENTIRELY ON OUR OWN, no blather, no constant triangulation to find our pressure-points, weak-spots. We ended up waiting in their office for while (our fault, not theirs!) and we had nothing but a pleasant conversation with their sales guy about health insurance and weather and stuff. So we bought the car for a perfectly reasonable price. And it's been great. We were never treated with anything but total respect and courtesy. I can't say how utterly different this experience was to what I expected and it's like entering the garden of eden of car sales. It should always have been like this. You guys rock, hard. read more

I purchased a vehicle from Green Light Auto Wholesale in Daly City and financed a little over $41,000. My problem is not with the car. My problem is with the financing experience. I have excellent established credit and a long history of successfully financing vehicles. I had just paid off a Tesla loan that was at approximately 6.5%. I was also prequalified with Chase and Capital One before purchasing this vehicle. Since this purchase, I have been prequalified with Ally around 6.5%, and PenFed has prequalified me around 6.5%. When I arrived at Green Light, I was told they worked with Capital One. The financing I ultimately left with through Capital One was 9.99% for 60 months. That immediately bothered me because I specifically questioned the financing and was told, in substance, that they don't mark things up. I contacted Capital One afterward and specifically asked what rate Capital One originally approved before any dealer participation or markup. They would not disclose a buy rate to me and would only tell me that my signed contract says 9.99%. I am NOT claiming that I know what Capital One's original buy rate was because neither Capital One nor the dealership has provided that information to me. What I can say is that I find a 9.99% rate extremely difficult to understand considering my credit and the approximately 6.5% financing available to me elsewhere. I was unhappy enough with the financing that within FIVE DAYS I paid the $41,000+ Capital One balance down to approximately $900. I am leaving that small balance temporarily so my regular lender can refinance it at approximately 6.5%, pay Capital One directly, and handle the lien/title lender-to-lender. So instead of carrying their 9.99% loan for 60 months, essentially the entire principal was gone within five days. For perspective, even Capital One currently advertises 60-month used-auto rates as low as approximately 6.5% for borrowers with excellent credit characteristics. Obviously advertised rates don't guarantee anyone a particular approval, but combined with the other financing offers available to me, it makes my 9.99% contract even more frustrating. If Green Light wants to respond publicly, I would welcome one simple answer: What was Capital One's original lender-approved buy rate on my transaction, and did Green Light receive any dealer reserve or rate participation on my 9.99% contract? I would be happy to update this review if they provide a straightforward answer. I like the vehicle. I did not like the financing experience at all. Anyone with strong credit buying here should consider arriving with their credit-union financing completely finalized and should compare the dealer-arranged APR carefully before signing. read more

We came to research several EVs after our Mach-E met with an unfortunate end. The friendly staff allowed us to explore five different makes/models with exactly zero pressure. We test drove the one we were most interested in,although we ended up buying a new instead of a used version of that car, the difference in the shopping experience was night and day. Green Light is where you actually want to go. The Hyundai dealership in Fresno (where we ended up buying our new EV) was every bit as bad as any stereotype you've ever heard for car dealerships. We had a great experience here today. I have to say the lack of pressure is a little unique to get used to at first. They wait for you to come to them, instead of popping up right as you get out of the car. They give you the keys, let you scope out one car at a time. And then when you are ready to test drive you head out alone after a quick orientation to the car. The price is what it is. They answered all of my questions. Even sympathized with me when I realized that the car I was interested in wouldn't have navigation unless I paid a fee (Very not cool of you Chevrolet). If the person who was originally helping me wasn't available, any number of the other employees would jump in to assist. No waiting on one person to be available. I was perusing listings on Edmunds, came across the car I was looking for and saw that it was at Green Light. OMG - Dealt with Michael, he was so nice, honest, chill, helpful, personable and genuine. Did a test drive. The trade-in price they offered me was spot - on as I had queried other used EV outfits about what they would offer me, and Green Light was on the money. I called to find out about the car and had a zero pressure conversation with Arturo. Arturo is informative and affable. He made the process super easy and as soon as I said I wanted to buy the car he shared a very thorough video walkthrough that showed every scuff on the vehicle, all of which were super minor and I couldn't even see when I was looking at the car in person. Great place to choose a slightly used EV from a selection of nearly every make & model! Added bonus: they are low-pressure (actually NO pressure!), and they tell you the price up front. They also know everything about all the different EVs and can help you find what you want. We were looking to upgrade from our 2017 Leaf (current range of 90 miles), but we weren't quite sure which make/model we wanted. It was important to us that bikes would fit inside the car, so we wanted to see the different models in person because that's the only way to know for sure. Luckily, we found out about Green Light EVs (from craigslist) and we were able to go to a single location to look at every EV model on our list, instead of going from dealer to dealer to dealer (or multiple private sellers). They were really nice to deal with from start to finish and we ended up choosing a 2023 EV6 Wind. If you've ever given your contact info to a car dealer, you'll know how they pester you nonstop. Not the case with these folks! You can communicate with them by text or phone and they won't abuse the fact that they have your contact info. Really a breath of fresh air. They also took the car in for a recall that the previous owner never took care of -- they make sure the car is ready to roll when they sell it. In our case it took three trips. First trip to look at a bunch of models, then we did research at home and settled on the EV6 (a few different specific trims). Second trip we went and test drove a specific EV6 but decided against it because it had 40,000 miles on it, which was a little more than we wanted. But on that trip they told us they had another coming in about a week with 17,500 miles, so we came back a third time and test drove that one and bought it. Very happy with the experience, end-to-end! Makes no sense to me to pay twice as much for a new EV when you can get a great one from Green Light EVs. read more

I saw the BMW i3 on their website and thought that the price was right for the mileage. I sent an interest message and applied for credit online and David responded right away. He gave me information about the car and gave me a quote. When I called back to check on my credit application, Sergio took over. He took pictures of the car and sent me an out the door price quote. Although they couldn't hold the car for me unless I put $500 non refundable fee, I asked him to call if the car sold. Since it was meant to be, the car was there waiting for me the next day and I drove away a happy customer. I would echo the other reviews here. The guys at Green Light EV are like the super chillest car salesmen ever. Like there's zero pressure, and just a ton of help and ease. We took BART from Berkeley to Colma and it was 5 minutes to walk to them and check it out. And, such easy pickup after we bought! There was also no fuss about the $4k Federal Rebate, they just deducted it from the price and then we did buy the extended warranty just cuz for $2K - - that's like the price of one fix nowadays. This was not out 1st EV, we had an older Leaf we just sold. We picked up our car, a 2020 Hyundai Kona EV (22k miles) with the Ultimate package (meaning things like a head's up display, cooled seats, rocking sound, sunroof etc.) only 10 days ago and we just drove it up to Bodega Bay and back and had a ball. Everything is perfect. In my mind, I got a CRAZY amount of car for the price (about $21K after all the rebates!). I would totally trust these guys and check out their cars. I plan to buy my next EV from them next year when we replace our last gas car. read more

My experience at Green Light Auto Wholesale was exceptional. Over the course of a few months while I researched used EVs, I stopped by 4 or 5 times to test drive different vehicles. The team was always available to answer my questions and provided kind and helpful service to me while I wavered on what car to select. I traded in a used EV and they gave me the best price on the trade-in value compared to another local dealer and quotes I got online. Since they don't specialize in one car brand, but instead sell all types of EVs, it could be difficult for the team to be well-versed in each car's details; that was not the case here. I inquired about 4 different EV brands and there was always someone who could answer my questions. I ended up purchasing a 2023 BMW i4 eDrive40 and am thrilled with the car. I know I made the right choice buying it from Green Light Auto Wholesale. Similar cars at another local dealer were listed for $5-10k over the prices at Green Light.
