Wowsa!! I called in for a carry out order at 8pm and the young man answering the phone was extremely rude and said they were closed. I politely inquired on their yelp page and communicated that it said they close at 9pm. He said the restaurant closes due to customer demand and hung up. Extremely rude! If you don't know yet, I like cheap, fast, and good food and this place hits the spot! We consulted Yelp after ziplining and Golden Stix was nearby so we decided to have dinner here. When we entered, we were seated immediately and was served with hot tea and water. I noticed that there are only few tables so if you don't want to wait to be seated, might as well do a take out. Food was pretty good. I love their egg rolls (I am a Filipino and I have had my share of egg rolls) and their lo mein. If we ever visit Colorado again, we would definitely stop by and have a grub. read more

We went here around 2 on Saturday. The service was very odd. The food was great though. One of the friends I was with is vegan so it was nice to find a place that she had more than just salad as a lunch option. Odd service: they told us to sit wherever. After a minute they brought over a bowl of what we think is sweet and sour sauce with a schmear of hot mustard, but the mustard was a little dry and crusty so it seemed sort of unappetizing and we didn't actually try and figure it out. That was it. No water, menus. Eventually, someone brought water and a teapot (with no glasses). After a few more minutes we broke out the grapes to snack on, it was after 2 and one of my party has diabetes and needed something soon, we were really hungry and a bit weirded out by the service up to this point so not really sure about the prospects of food coming out. Finally, someone brought cups for tea and menus, ahhh glorious moment. They even brought a regular menu, ie non lunch special, with the vegan/vegetarian section. The food was delicious, the service on the other hand tends to be hit or miss. For example: I had a reservation and arrived at the restaurant. I let the male host know what name my reservation was under. He said: "I don't know, maybe your party is over there." Another time we arrived at the restaurant we were told to sit wherever. My biggest issue was when I left a tip. We tipped our waitress 20%. I hadn't been out much in the last couple of months. Trying to keep my family healthy, but yesterday was my daughter's birthday and she asked for Golden Stix. I phoned in my order, asked when the food would be ready, and drove to the restaurant. I made a quick stop at the UPS Store. A 6-foot tall banner by the door said, "Please cover nose and mouth before entering for the safety of our customers and staff." No worries, I have a mask. The banner made me feel comfortable knowing that this business was taking the situation seriously. Then I went to Golden Stix. I walked up to the door and pulled it open. The restaurant is poorly lighted and dingy. I go inside and there is a woman sitting at a table in front of the cashier stand (a manager I assume). A young man in a tee shirt and baseball cap greats me and rings up my order. He takes my Visa, runs it and hands it back. No one (but me) has a mask, the staff are not wearing gloves, no hand sanitizer, no wipes, nothing. I was hesitant to even take my Visa back. I took the food home. I took it out of the bag, tossed the bag in the trash, washed my hands. Took the food out of the containers, tossed the containers, washed my hands. Put everything in the oven at 200 degrees to kill any kooties on the food its self, and finally felt it was safe to eat. We had ordered soups. They were placed in the bottom of the bag (a large order, $85 worth) and the lids were crushed, leaking soup all over the bag and the seat of my car, but that's another story. In short, the folks at Golden Stix just don't care. They don't care about themselves, and they certainly don't care about their customers. I have to wonder, if they're this cavalier about safety in the front in view of the customers, what's it like in the kitchen? I won't be back. read more

I have to say Golden Stix has lost a long time frequent customer after tonight. We frequent this business about once every two weeks because we liked the food, the service has always been marginal. Tonight was the poorest experience that we have ever had. I ordered black pepper chicken and after a few bites the sauce started to separate. The sauce ended up being mostly oil will a little spice. It was so oily that it tasted awful and was dripping oil and I couldn't eat it. By the time we were asked how things were about twenty minutes after our food was brought out I asked for the meal to be just taken off of the bill because the rest of my family was done eating. They offered to recook the dish but I was already nauseated from what I had eaten so we insisted it be taken off the bill. They then brought the bill out discounting the dish 50% instead of taking it fully off because I had eaten a few bites. The owner refused to take it off the bill and threatened to call the cops if we did not pay for that entree. The owner has the poorest customer service skills that I have ever seen. He doesn't care about his customers or what the community has to say about his business. I would highly recommend steering clear of this establishment. read more

I have been here 5 times now and each time has been more disappointing than the last. The food has been lackluster at the best and overcooked and terribly flavored more often than not. (The Lo Mein was tasty however.) Recently we were given the wrong item for one of our entrees. When we told the server, they did nothing to offer to remedy this problem. "Since we couldn't get fried rice with our meal this evening, when's the best time to arrive to ensure we can have it?" His response: something along the lines of, "Your guess is as good mine!" We were taken care of by 3 different people. The attitude of 2 of the men was, 1) lackluster 2) pretentious 3) actually a young man who had taken our order, was in fact, the most professional, of the employ. He was genuine & the most interested in taking care of the customer, as the customer should be taken care of. I explained our dismay to him and he was overly apologetic. I then asked who managed the establishment, his response was Jason. I asked if we could speak to him and he replied: his presence or availability Is basically non-existent.
