We decided to try this small restaurant in a strip mall that was a hidden gem. We started off with bbq bun which was so good. The bun was so soft and inside the dough was cooked perfectly and it was nice and crispy on the bottom. Next we ordered several dishes family style which included salt pepper shrimp, Mongolian beef, general Tso chicken, combination rice and a shrimp and pork shu Mai dumpling. We also ordered some soup dumplings , we appreciated the foil containers but if we had to order again we would definitely order more of the shrimp and pork shu mai! We asked the owner about what ant recommendations and he stated the Mongolian but honestly all the food was exceptional! I also ordered a tea and was given a refill on my pot which was so nice. Not my favorite dim sum place but still yummy! There's a large parking lot shared with the surrounding businesses. The venue itself is kind of small, but they are able to accommodate a party of 10 last minute so that was nice. I had never been to this location, but my friend lives in the area and says he goes frequently. When we first arrived, they were kind friendly and greeted us immediately. They were able to see us at their largest table. My friend then placed all of the orders because he knew what we all liked and what they had on the menu already. The food came out in waves, which was nice so we got a chance to eat a little bit of everything at a time instead of being overwhelmed with everything all at once. The temperature of the food was great! Hot and fresh :-) the seasoning could've been a little better. My friend said some of the "spicy" food was not very spicy. My friend who suggested it said that tonight wasn't their best night though as well. He said he's been before and it was great while tonight's food was just mediocre. I would definitely be willing to give them another try, but it is a little far from where we all live so it might be a while till we head back. Came back with new friends to check them out and the food/consistency is still there. This time we only ordered a few dim sum dishes but got more shared plates like the garlic bok choy, the salt and pepper shrimp, and the dry beef chow fun. Everything is super tasty and don't sleep on their pork ribs with black bean sauce, probably the best I've had in Denver. Their shumai is amazing too, I'm usually not a shumai girl but you can taste the shrimp, the pork and the flavor is amazing. I also didn't feel like taking a nap after so I think their seasoning is tastefully done. Get their Portuguese Egg Tart - pastéis de nata, worth getting a couple plates and be warned, they come out fresh and hot! Things have improved a lot since the last time we ordered from here. Now I have gone in person a couple of times now post grand opening and the food is quite good. When you're up north and craving some dim sum, this is a fantastic family run restaurant. It's kind of tucked away in the back of the plaza. They have a smaller selection than your typical dim sum place on Federal but they have enough of our favorites. The one thing that really does stand out are the pastries. The pastries in my opinion are a lot better than Star Kitchen. The bbq pork bao is so good along with the pineapple bun. We order those every time we're here. I also like the glutinous pork fried pastry as well. The congee is also quite delicious if you want something a little cleaner or if you're sick. The fried rice also has a nice wok hei flavoring. While they may not have everything, it does the job without requiring me to wait over an hour for. Also the family is really sweet and nice. read more

After a few days in Denver i needed something different besides pizza and burgers. We decided to give this place a chance. To start I found that the service was lacking, but you could tell is a small mom and pops. We order a few different dim sum and a seafood fried rice. The fried rice was ok to me but it had an odd burnt taste. The soup dumplings were honestly the worst I've ever had. Not gonna lie - the first time we came we almost didn't go in since it looked a little sketchy, but I'm so glad we decided to! The restaurant is located in a small strip mall, easily missed if you weren't looking for it. Don't expect anything fancy or hip. The space is small with only a few tables and the decor is minimal. Pretty standard with the mom and pop Asian restaurants in Denver. Service has been great every time for us, very attentive and everyone is friendly. The dim sum menu isn't extensive but does include all the main staples so it satisfies my cravings. Our normal order: baked barbeque buns, shu mai, crystal shrimp dumplings, both pork and spicy soup dumplings (soooo good!), spare ribs and chicken feet. For dessert, sesame balls, pineapple buns and egg tarts. I want to try all their other cake offerings like the kidney bean cake and chrysanthemum jujube paste cake. Really appreciate that Chinese Palace Dim Sum has dim sum options available all day. It's really hard to find dim sum after 2pm on weekends and sometimes during the week in general. It was really nice to be able to order some dim sum and some noodle dishes. The char siu bao were on point and we really loved the Singapore noodles. The Singapore noodles had a lot of shrimp, pork, and chicken which was a huge bonus. We also liked that it had just the right amount of spices. The staff here were really friendly and attentive. I hate to leave negative reviews, but unfortunately, our experience here was underwhelming. When we walked in, the restaurant immediately gave an unclean impression. Despite that, we decided to stay, hoping the food would live up to the positive reviews--but we found it just average. You could tell it's a family run business since the staff looked like a family...they were very nice. We ordered the soup dumplings and sesame balls from the dim sum. By the way, this place isn't true dim sum that you would expect, rather small plates that you can order from a menu. We also ordered beef lo mein in general tsao chicken. Everything was very tasty, but also very heavy. I'm a big eater, but it was such a heavy meal that I didn't eat too much of it. At first, we noticed service was slow - but it seemed like they had a huge order so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. The server was very nice, but it was evident that the food was not fresh. The pork buns and pineapple buns were definitely microwave. Both of them were flat and soggy when they came out and the plate it came out with was really hot. I don't think the plate should have been hot especially if serving pineapple buns or barbecue pork buns... Also for the pineapple bun, the bun was hot (and soggy at the bottom) but the inside was cold... like tasted almost frozen. The chicken feet and the steamed spare ribs were fine - okay at best. There were only 3 chicken feet in the dish and the steamed spare ribs had mostly 70% taro, which was interesting. The shrimp dumpling seemed like they were frozen prior because they tasted like it was "frozen" and when they came out we could see that there was no uniformity of color... it was cooked but at the edges they had freezer burn. Personally did not eat the soup dumpling, but my friend said they were okay. Just disappointed and we're usually very forgiving but this was just hard to eat. Excellent spot in noco for some authentic dim sum eats, they have a great selection and even a picture menu for those not well versed in what to order. We came here for Thanksgiving. We got there about 10:45 am. We quickly were sat down. There were 4 of us. The place is casual and clean. Our waiter set down a pen and a sheet of their menu. We went through it and marked on there what we wanted. They have dim sum items as well as family style items. All the family style items comes with a choice of steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles. For family style, we ordered the salt & pepper tofu, garlic broccoli, and combination fried rice. The tofu was cooked very crispy and delicious. The garlic broccoli was definitely garlicky and flavorful. We liked it, but beware of the garlic taste. The name says it all. The combination fried rice was our favorite of everything we had. Flavorful and scrumptious. Everything else were dim sum items, see photos. Just know that this dim sum place only has limited dim sum items. They don't have a huge dim sum menu like other dim sum places. Their dim sum is also a little different than other places too. I didn't really like the pork and shrimp shu mai. It just didn't taste all that great and too much meat. The small wonton soup is a little different too, they add noodles to their wonton soup. Beware that a small wonton soup is good to share between 2 people. I did really like the broth though. The barbecue pork bun is good but on the sweeter side. Everything else is okay. Overall, we all said the food was ok. This place is just okay in my opinion. Kudos to those who love the place. read more
