This Korean restaurant was such an unexpected gem. Tucked away in the mountains of Evergreen, it serves some of the most authentic and delicious Korean food we've had in Colorado--which, honestly, was a surprise. It's actually Thai-owned, but don't let that stop you. The chef spent more than five years cooking Korean food in Texas, and it shows. The kalbi tasted just like the kind my mom makes at home. The banchan, sundubu, and mandu-guk were all incredibly flavorful and comforting. The ambiance was warm, clean, and inviting. The decor was a blend of Korean and Thai influences, with familiar Korean touches like soju brand advertisements alongside Thai decorations that reflected the owners' background. It felt authentic to both cultures without trying too hard. The only thing that stood out to me was that they serve jasmine rice instead of traditional Korean or Japanese sticky rice. I personally love jasmine rice, so it wasn't an issue, but it does tend to break apart a bit when mixed into soup. The owners are incredibly friendly, and we'll definitely be finding excuses to make the drive back. What's especially interesting is that this place outshines several Korean restaurants in Aurora that are actually Korean-owned. They also don't skimp on the meat portions, which is something I've found disappointing at some other Korean spots in the area. If you're in the area, give it a try. This is actually a brand new restaurant, and it's Korean now, not Indian/Thai. The owner is delightful, and she's very proud of her recipes. She makes everything in-house, including the condiments and kimchi. I've eaten there twice since it changed ownership, and it's delicious! My only complaint so far is that the "pork" in the kimchi fried rice was just giant pieces of fat in my serving. Everything else has been very high quality and full of flavor. Definitely give this place a try! I don't want them to close like so many other restaurants in Evergreen. read more

Stopped by this place as a table of one as a whim after reading about it on r/denverfood Sooo delicious! Incredibly fresh veggies, crispy flavorful tofu and zingy pickled radish all accompanied my bibimbap. My server, Ellie, and her husband run the place together as a team of two. Ellie was delightful and so sweet! Small, intimate space that is very adorably decorated. They even put together a separate "deconstructed" kimchi for me to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Tried Ginger Itaewon with my husband this weekend for lunch and it was the best meal we've had in a long time. I've eaten at so many Asian restaurants in and around Denver and Boulder and this is my favorite meal I've had. We got the fried chicken, glass noodles, kimchi stew, and spare ribs and it was all insanely delicious. The owner waited on us and her husband was the chef. We couldn't have asked for a better addition to the Evergreen community than Ginger!! My family and I visited with a group of 5 last Wednesday night and had a perfect 10 out of 10 experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is small and cozy with plenty of tables. The service was absolutely excellent. Our server was so kind and had a great personality. The owner also came over to check on us to not only ask what we thought about the food, but also if we had any feedback as they are a new restaurant. We had no critiques to give because everything was excellent. We ordered: Cauliflower Manchurian Reshmi Malai Kabob Pani Puri Bhindi Masala Chicken Tikka Masala Old Dehli Butter Chicken Vegetable Biryani Naan All the food had incredible flavor. My personal favorites were the Reshmi Malai kabob because it was unlike any Indian dish I'd had before, the Butter Chicken because it had a rich and delicious flavor without being heavy, and the Vegetable Biryani because it was made with masala spices and so different than any biryani i've had. I also really enjoyed the Bhindi Masala because I don't always see Okra at restaurants and I love it. Overall the food at Ginger is fantastic and we are so happy to have them in Evergreen. Ginger is such a great little gem in Evergreen. We've gotten takeout from here several times before and it's always been delicious, but this was our first time dining in. Our son declared the Chicken Tikka Masala the best he's ever had. He also absolutely loved his Mango Lassi. It was perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing. I tried the Veggie Korma, which I've actually avoided in the past because I didn't love it the first time I ever had it somewhere else. I have no idea what possessed me to give it another shot, but I'm so glad I did. This version was incredibly tasty and full of flavor. My husband got the Lamb Vindaloo, and it was rich, bold, and cooked perfectly. The garlic naan was absolutely perfect. It was light, fluffy, and the ideal companion for everything on the table. The restaurant seems to be family owned, and everyone we interacted with was kind, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The food came out quickly, and they even surprised us with a complimentary appetizer (I believe it was Ola Pakoda), which was such a thoughtful touch. All around, this was a wonderful experience. Whether it's takeout or dining in, Ginger consistently delivers amazing food and warm hospitality. I highly recommend them! read more

I have not tried the Thai portion of the menu, but the Indian I had was very lackluster. I got the bhindi masala with white rice and plain naan. The place is cute and the people seemed nice, but the okra was very, very oily and bland (it was not slimy though, for anyone wondering). The naan was also bland, and somewhat thick and doughy, no char, no bubbles, no real flavor. I'm half Indian and have therefore eaten a *lot* of Indian food in my life, and this just wasn't up to standard. read more

The worst Indian food place I've ever had. We ordered Dal Makani and it is made of canned beans, why? It is supposed to be lentils. I asked the waiter how many pieces of chicken in Tandoori Murgh and he said 3-4. When the food arrives, there were only 2 pieces of skinny chicken legs with a lot of salted butter and it only tasted like salted butter. Since it wasn't enough food, we ordered Chilli Chicken and the chicken tastes weird and smells like the meat is spoiled so we sent it back. For the price, that was a pretty bad experience. I'm not sure why they have 5 stars reviews on Google and Yelp. I feel scammed. If they want to be successful, they need to hire a legitimate chef and a good management system. Oh, what? I'm the first reviewer... that's a new... Anyhow, please take this review with a grain of salt(customers & owners alike). I know this location is fairly new, and some things are assuredly still being dialed in. Notes: - The person on the phone needs to be more fluent in the local language. That is a necessity for any restaurant.. anywhere on the planet... I also understand that customers have more faith the food will be true to the source*** if the person taking their order has an appropriate accent... that does not excuse miscommunications ending up in frustration for the customer and the person on the phone taking orders. Get someone fluent in English and have them fake an accent if you feel you want that trait for phone orders. Not my first choice, but hey I'm not your mom. - soda machine... recalibrate your soda machine. Flat soda water, bad syrup mix. Just.. fix that easy fix. - and for the main dish, I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, 3/5 spicy The dish was far from the mark, unfortunately. Here are the notes: a. Noodles were either not rice noodles or something else has gone amiss. Flat rice noodles for this dish are always a staple preference, at least in the Thai restaurant community of Colorado. GET FLAT RICE NOODLES PLEASE b. The sauce. It was too light and needed more fish sauce, more tamarind, and more soy sauce. And there was no chili powder present AT ALL.. cmon that's the best part c. The chicken. There was.. and I'm being generous.. not even 3.5 ounces. The cuts were dry as though they were frozen several times, and not at all seasoned. This was very disappointing. Hardly any chicken and too many of the wrong noodles. Please read again that THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT! I understand new restaurants have a lot of crinkles to iron out and that can take time. I'll be back in about a month with some friends, and I look forward to giving you guys 5 stars!
