I have definitely made this my place to go for my beloved cats. They are tentative. The facility is extremely clean. The staff is so helpful and concerned about your every need for your loved ones.(PETS) lol might be a little pricey, but after you go to all the other vets that still cannot figure out what is wrong with your pet you will end up spending more. Not only did they diagnosed my cat having allergies when all the while everyone else was just giving my cat a shot and telling me to keep bringing him back that got a bit costly. Now my new vet has diagnosed my cat and has given him a regimen for allergies. He's a much happier cat now. read more

Our regular vet was double booked for the week and we needed an appointment so they referred us here. The woman who answered the phone didn't have amazing customer service but I was able to make a appointment and I trust my regular vet. The receptionist offered me 10:15 for the following day, which I wrote down and then at the end of the call confirmed 10:15. Later in the afternoon I received a text that I had an appointment at 10 am on the following day. 15 minutes may not seem like a big deal, but for someone like me who respects people's time, especially my own, it was frustrating. I left extra early because I did have some concerns and we arrived around 9:45 a.m. The parking lot was empty so we walked out dog around to let her potty before going in. The lobby is good sized with a decent amount of seating and there is a restroom for use. Check in and new patient registration was simple and we were seen within a reasonable time. I got the same feeling from the vet as I did from the receptionist, which wasn't great. There was no introduction or explanation. I only know what his name is now because it is listed on the receipt they emailed me. He checked her ears and mouth and immediately said she needed a dental cleaning. I explained she has them annually at our regular dentist and he stated "sometimes they need them more often". They have fliers for their dental cleanings on the wall and it just sort of felt like an immediate sales pitch, which I didn't like. Then, he grabbed her and turned her over without advising he was going to that, which made both my dog and I a bit uncomfortable and I ended up holding her so she would be calm. He offered to run tests but I explained again the two things we needed and he said he would give me a quote anyway and left the room. When the Veterinarian's Assistant came in, I had her remove the testing from the estimate and ok'd the things we did need. I am going to share the cost with you because I think it's helpful. We were charged: $59 for the exam, $35 for Bordetella, $98 for Cytopoint, and $12 for a medical waste fee. Our bill came to $204, however my credit card was charged $206.04. I was advised when I went to pay that there would be a 1% charge to use my credit card. I did not see a sign but the staff did tell me when I gave them my card just before I paid. I was fine with that and understand this is a common practice but again, with my time and money I am a meticulous person. I am always early and I save all receipts and log every transaction I make. I noticed later my receipt said $204 but my card was charged $$206.04. I contacted their office and asked for an updated receipt reflecting the charge and they replied "The credit card terminal charges 1% of the transaction amount." California law requires that the receipt accurately reflect the amount charged. If the surcharge isn't itemized, then the receipt is misleading and it looks like you were overcharged compared to the paperwork you were given. By law, businesses must give customers a truthful record of the transaction. Also, for comparison, our vet charges $44 for an office visit, $77 for Cytopoint and $1 for the Environmental Disposal Fee so their prices were definitely higher overall than what I typically pay. Ultimately my dog got what I brought her for but I do not know if I would choose to come to this office again. read more

I brought my puppy in for vaccines and had very disappointing experiences with the front desk staff. Skinny blonde receptionist offered additional vaccines, but when I asked what they were for, she snapped back that it "depends on your lifestyle." She was rude and dismissive. If you're recommending medical services, you should be able to explain what they're for, especially to a puppy owner asking a basic question. Another older receptionist wasn't outright rude, but very cold and monotone. There was no warmth or friendliness at all. On a positive note, one of the younger receptionists was kind and helpful, and the Asian vet tech was absolutely lovely and very sweet. Unfortunately, the front desk sets the tone for the entire visit, and this one was unprofessional and unwelcoming. I will not be coming back, thank the Lord. This facility really needs to retrain their reception staff on customer service and basic courtesy. Golden Valley Vet Hospital is violating standard medical record regulations and abusing people's trust. For any first-time pet owners or ANY pet owners at that, please completely avoid this vet clinic. I am a first time pet owner so I really do not know much about vaccinations or preventative care at all... I took my pet for a health exam and preventative care and left with a hefty bill of over $400+. Instead of this being a clear, positive, and informative appointment this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with my pet. Aside from the rude welcome we got from the blonde haired receptionist, the doctor decided it was safe to give my dog that weighs less than 23 pounds more than 3 vaccinations at once and they failed to inform me of the vaccination sites AND most importantly of any possible vaccine reactions to lookout for. My pet had a very severe vaccine reaction and when I called the clinic, they were nothing but rude and dismissive. Luckily, a family member of mine is familiar with vaccinations and clinic protocols and informed me of adverse vaccine protocols that hospitals and manufacturers have in place for cases like this. I requested the vaccine lot number as well as manufacturer information, and the clinic decided to lie and withhold the information referring to the vaccines. They stated "sorry we threw the vials away already"... not unless they threw out their whole refrigerated case of vaccines for each vaccination, which was 4 vaccines (meaning up to 25 single-dose vials each case) this is a disgusting lie and violation. I legally own the right to access my dog's complete medical files and those details, like the specific vaccine brand and lot number must be documented. This withholding of information prevented me from seeking financial compensation from the manufacturer for possible treatment costs. It also delayed my pets care in regard to the vaccine reactions. Not to mention my pet was also prescribed a Bravecto chewable and we were told to give this right when we get home. Thankfully, we did not, so we know that the vaccines caused these reactions, but if we would have given it, we would not have known, this would have been just another issue for us not knowing what may have caused our dog to get so sick and lethargic to the point of collapse. When I spoke to management regarding this issue, we were told to bring our pet in and to pay another bill for treatment without them taking any type of responsibility or any attempts to make this right. The receptionist, young skinny blond lady I believe her name was Ricky or something similar, was very rude and disrespectful. After she answers the phone, she's badmouthing the customer she just got off the phone to the other receptionist sitting with her on the front desk Very unprofessional talking about other cust in-front of other cust.When she was asking me for my info, I spelled my name 5 times and she still got it wrong. I feel so lucky to have found Golden Valley Vet, they came recommended by another well established veterinary clinic. Brought our dog in for a teeth cleaning and biopsy of a lump on his gum. Thankfully they ran a blood panel and caught kidney problems which could have been devastating if they had went through with the sedation for the teeth cleaning. With their care we have been able to get Tuckers kidney levels into the normal range and after a month were able to proceed with the teeth cleaning and biopsy. I felt the front desk staff, med techs and doctors to exceed my expectations. I didn't feel as if expensive products or unnecessary procedures were pushed. I found the prices to be very fair. As someone who has a bunch of rescued fur babies from cats, birds and a dog they have gained a loyal customer. read more

Do not recommend. I was not impressed with the service at this clinic. On more than one visit they cut my dog's nails too short and she bled. Nobody mentioned it to me when I picked her up. I only noticed when I got home and saw how far back the nails were cut. I would not let them trim my dog's nails again. When I've asked questions about my dog's care it's been difficult to get clear answers from the doctor, and the front office staff has been very dismissive. Blond front desk staff member with an attitude that comes across like she couldn't care less about you or your animal family members. It's all about money with this Vet Hospital and the vets there. Daughter took her 6yo black lab in to be seen for loss of weight and lack of appetite. The vet gave her some medicine (basically like ibuprofen for dogs) said that if it wasn't better in a week bring her back. Symptoms were very concerning so she was taken to Standiford Vet Hospital in Modesto the same day who diagnosed a critical issue with the liver that required immediate intervention. Asked about spaying and neuter for 2 of our small dachshunds. $450 for the male and $495 for the female! WOW Pet Advocates in Tracy charges $170 and $200 in comparison. There are so many better options for quality veterinary care in the area. Don't frustrate yourself and risk putting your pets at risk by going to this place. read more

They performed an EKG before my dog's dental cleaning to ensure he would handle sedation safely, which gave me so much peace of mind. They ended up pulling nine teeth, and the care they provided was top-notch. They kept me updated throughout the entire process, and the cost was very affordable compared to other places. AVOID!I have been a client for over a year and I have seen first hand how staff mistreats customers. From talking bad about other clients openly to eye rolling and sarcasm directly if you ask questions they don't like.In the past I requested my dogs follow up after surgery not to be done alone n the back room I offered to pay if I had to so I could be in an exam room to show the vet concerns and ask the questions. The clerk did act strange that day. From that point on they started acting different.The receptionist ( blonde tall skinny ) was targeting me- being openly sarcastic and purposely putting us behind everyone else who walked in later even though we were on time for our appointments & office was empty. I wasn't positive this was happening purposely until the last appointment. I spoke up about the possible mistake and she became worse with sarcasm, eye rolling and no correction. Again she had shifted us to be very last even though it was verified our appointment was before all other patients that came in for an hour afterwards. At this point no other patients were left. After seeing the vet this clerk refused to check me out and I asked her if she could get the other clerk she said no. She snickered and laughed for about 25 min as we were the only ones in the waiting room - then cried wolf to the back staff on the phone that I was leaving without paying when i told her if she didn't get someone to check me out I'm going to have to leave. She had absolutely inexcusable behavior. I posted a review online and a week later I had a call from the office manager who had not been there. She did not apologize she actually accuse me of all kind of fabrications and had most of the information wrong as she threatened me with fines if I did not take down my online review! She also admitted they have a strike system so I had a strike already when I asked to see the Vet previously in a room for follow up instead of sending my dog back alone. ( I did not know until then) So since they did not like me already this was the last strike and they would send me my dog's files. There is no way I would ever go back to this business anyway. The letter I received with my files was something preformed they must use all the time whenever they don't like a client or get caught in a bad way. There are so many other wonderful vet clinics to choose from. My recommendation is AVOID this clinic at all costs! Update- the response to this post from the business is them denying the truth! I was exactly on time for my 3:15 appt-in fact I called ahead to verify the time! (If the receptionist refused to do the check in on the computer that's an issue!) since they claim to have video & audio then they need to review it! Right now they are choosing to tell lies. The person who called me chose not to listen to anything I had to say and in fact continued to repeat lies, harass and bully me on the phone! This office manager told me what a horrible person I was for actions that were untrue and she DID SAY IF I DID NOT TAKE THE POST DOWN THEY COULD FINE ME! The team at Golden Valley are awesome! The facilities were very clean and well maintained. Brought in a small terrier mix to treat a bite wound, and Dr. Sandhu saw us quickly. He and his vet tech, Antonio, were kind and took the time to answer all of our questions and provide sound advice. We had taken the puppers to another vet that wanted to charge almost $2,000 for various unnecessary treatments just to examine the bite wounds. Dr. Sandhu and his team advised that none of those test were needed. Due to the age of the pup, we did end up having to leave her for a couple hours for treatment, but she went back home same day, and is being nursed back to health with a follow up scheduled in one week. The honesty, knowledge and kindness exuded by Dr. Sandhu and his team gave us all a sense of relief, trust and comfort. 10/10. read more

My cat had an emergency that, based upon his unusual behavior, sudden symptom and obvious pain needed immediate attention. None of the vets in Tracy would make time to see us, and 2 actually turned us away on site, so I followed the reviews here. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The receptionist/tech took one look and assigned us to an exam room right away. We walked in and we're seen within 20 minutes. As I suspected, it was serious. The ran some tests and confirmed a ruptured internal abscess that needed immediate surgery. They MADE TIME to do it ...immediately. As I waited in the reception area I noticed the entire facility is brand new, spacious, super clean, and set up to accommodate all shapes, sizes, ages, and breeds. Very different from every other vet I've visited with my fur family in the last 50 years. There's also a restroom for humans and a grassy outdoor area for the furries and plenty of parking. It's also conveniently located just off the highway, but tucked away in a nook occupied by a church, so there's no traffic and no competition for parking during vet business hours. As I waited in the outer office for news I spoke with many folks who came and went for regular visits and follow ups. All were at ease, because of the calm vibe and the waiting area was large enough with separated seating so territorial issues weren't triggered. All spoke highly of the care and kindness there and I concur. Everyone including the vet was sincere and well informed. Dr Singh was incredibly kind and responded to all of my questions in detail, offered all of the options, and was respectful of my budget as we discussed what was most important. They also accept pet insurances and Care Credit. Our situation was entailed, and we chose the best possible solutions cooperatively. I felt heard, understood, and it was clear that he's on top of things technically AND cares and is very sensitive to the individual needs and feelings of his furry clients and their companions. The surgery was long but successful. After Several hours of recovery to be sure he was stable enough, we returned home with detailed instructions, needed meds, and a follow up scheduled. Our initial visit was on Friday yet we received 2 calls over the weekend checking in. They were available for questions in the interim, and when we returned for the follow up, I expected s bill for at least $100 and was told it was included with the surgery. I wouldn't hesitate to return here and have already recommended them. Dr Singh is an asset to the community, and definitely a very sincere healer and advocate on behalf of our fur friends. read more

After reading the reviews, I canceled my dogs appointment then I woke up and said let me go to the place went there and the vibe was good so I left my dog and I was happy with the outcome. They didn't try to price gouge me and they gave me options, so I'm very comfortable now. Yes I would definitely use them again. My advice to them is try to rectify the problem when people get mad and leave these bad comments because my experience was great and I'm so grateful for that hard nowadays to trust these vets, and find a good vet. I went in Tuesday and felt my dog had ringworm was told they wouldn't give me the treatment (topical) unless they did a skin test to prove it. I had been putting the anti fungal topical on it already for a week prior but since part of the ringworm was in her mouth I wanted oral antibiotics. Plus she's been licking the cream off. Well the Vet and Vet tech (her crocs say salty very professional) both reiterated that they won't do anything without the 170.00 skin test to prove that it was ringworm. Well fast forward to today I received a call that it was in fact ringworm and they can only give me miconazole cream for 25 dollars ( 10 dollars at petco)which is what I have been doing therefore the test was infact pointless didn't change any outcome and I wasted 250.00...what a joke. read more

I rarely do reviews, but for my furchild, I will. Kona started becoming fearful of going to check ups, after she got spayed at Banfield. Last year, we had to bring her to a new vet in Tracy, but the vet didn't even check her properly coz she was fearful. Vet immediately recommended to an orthopedic surgeon due to her limp. We had a feeling she just had a pulled muscle since it happened when she was playing with a puppy bully and was just a clumsy little boy. We followed our guts and just gave her joint chews - amazing! Her limp was gone in a week. Fast forward today - we decided to try GVV and Kona was happy. She was at first panting and scared, but from the reception check in until meeting the vet, to getting her shots, they were so patient. They waited until Kona was comfy with them to touch her. This place is absolutely amazing and is helping so many animals. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the veterinarians do great work. I am the Director of Operations for The Milo Foundation and I schedule all of our dentals here. They have appointments available all the time, they allow us to add on procedures and treatments last minute and they definitely have the lowest prices. We have taken multiple cats and dogs there to receive dentals and they all have healed very well. We had a senior chihuahua go them for a dental and they extracted 14 teeth! He healed great and was interested in food right after. They clearly complete the procedure with care to insure minimal pain to the animals. Many years ago when they first opened I did not have a great experience with them. I felt they overcharged and didn't care. So I never went back. This was well over 10 years ago maybe. I came back here in desperation after seeing 2 other vets to try to treat my kids' beloved cat. The vet in Manteca that I thought I could trust and did his last surgery very well was now writing us off, and their staff was rude and dismissive. I came here and all of the staff is amazing, everyone was so nice. The vet was very straightforward with me with what needed to be done. They called in a specialist and that guy was amazing, very communicative, sent pictures of the entire procedure, kept me updated all day. This place does not push unnecessary tests and procedures on you. And the amount I paid for another surgery of this magnitude was surprisingly not bad compared to other places. During a follow up I heard a couple with their pregnant dog and heard the cost of a c-section and was surprised at how cheap it was, apparently people drive from other counties to come this vet. The doctors made sure to follow up and explained everything fully. Only thing negative I would say is that it is a small clinic and they have to send lab/blood tests out and X-rays to be read. But...they're really quick to get back to you. So not enough to knock off any stars read more

I will never ever go back to this place again and would never refer anyone either. I am not much for yelp reviews but this one needed to be known. I came in for an emergency vet appointment. When I get there no one is at the desk for at least 10 minutes, when someone did come out I stated I was there for an ER appointment at 5pm. They gave me paperwork to complete, which I promptly did and then gave back. They left it sitting on the counter and then left again. The kitten began to deteriorate as we were sitting there. Someone came out for something unrelated and I stopped them to insist this kitten needs to be seen I believe she is dying. They take her to the back and then within minutes bring her back out to tell me she needs emergency care and they just are too busy to help. They gave me a list of places I could go on a Friday night traffic to either Modesto or Dublin. They did not offer to give her fluids, to even have her put down right then and there because she was so severe. I would have understood that and would never have wonted her to suffer. She ended up dying on my way to Modesto. This little girl, Juliet, did not deserve the treatment and shallowness they gave her. Their priority was not what was best for her but what was best for them. She may have died either way but they did not even try. read more

I had to make a hard decision of putting our 16 year old little girl to rest . When I called they were so accommodating and understanding. When I arrived I had the pleasure of meeting Rose . I was alone and I didn't realize how hard this was going to be . She hugged me several times and had so much empathy for what I was going through. I had a great time at Golden Valley Vet. I went with my 3 cats when I needed Health Certificates for my move from California to Illinois for work. Almost a full year passes and I am moving to Japan for work and planning to take my 3 cats with me. The staff at Golden Valley Vet are amazing and patient. They put up with my endless calls and provided me information on vaccination brand, expiration, etc. In addition, they updated some information on some vaccines and mailed the documents I required for my move.
