I highly recommend this place to bring your pet. This clinic focuses only on dental and neuter/spay procedures, but it's clear they do things very well. The compassion of the Vet and RVN cannot be beat. I am amazed and humbled that such kind professionals took care of G'dog even with all the volume of pets involved. I am very grateful for the clinic and their staff for their service and helping people like me afford such important care. G'dog is a recently adopted rescue dog with no recent, if any, dental care. Luckily, only two teeth extractions were needed. One of the meds for the teeth extraction is liquid and needs to be refrigerated, but I got a cup of ice from a fast food place for the long drive home. For me, it was worth taking the time off and exploring the area, even with the extra driving time. I was at the Pet Advocates office door around 7:45am and I was heading home by 3:30PM. I will be coming back to Pet Advocates for as long as I can. Many thanks to the vet and staff who patiently took care of G'dog. After getting different quotes for dental cleaning in the Bay Area, I was recommended to look into The Pet Advocate by a friend. The Pet Advocate offers significantly lower prices compared to Bay Area vet clinics, which sold me. Even their highest price for an extraction is only $40 (pre-molars and molars). After submitting my pet's information online, I was contacted shortly after with availability a month out and paid my $50 deposit. The instructions say drop-off is at 8am so I got there at 7:45am. To my surprise, there were already a ton of people there waiting for their pets' spay/neuter and dental cleaning appointments. By the time I was checked in and allowed to bring my dog inside, it was closer to 9am. Having come from a boutique-like vet in D.C., I was put off once I got inside. The waiting room was so busy, and there were so many cats inside from Animal Service, pet owners, and rescues. It just felt too crowded. Once we got to the back for the examination, it felt even more crowded and very factory-like. However, the vet was attentive, addressed all my concerns, and the vet techs were very friendly and gentle with my sweet pup. Before leaving you do have to pay first. Please note it is about a 3% additional fee for debit and credit cards, so I recommend bringing cash! Initially, I thought all my dog would need is dental cleaning. However, a few hours later I received a call from his vet technician who explained the x-rays showed serious bone less in one of his pre-molars and a molar. She explained to me the additional amount owed for the medication and extractions so I could be prepared. When I went to pick my dog up at 3pm, there was yet another long line and it took another 30-40minutes for most of us to be called in. The vet tech took the time to sit with me and explain all the limitations, how the procedure went, showed me the x-rays, and advised me on post-care. It helped put me at ease. For the price, it was worth coming here. The only cons were the check-in and checkout system, the number of animals there at one time, and how crowded the examination area was. Aside from dental cleaning and vaccinations, I probably would not come here for anything else. In addition to the driving time, factor in about another hour for check-in AND check out. A week post-op and my dog's extraction sites are healing very well so I'm still satisfied with the service! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. They are very high volume so they can get pretty busy. Their check in/check out process is a little confusing and you can't just walk in and give them your information. You have to wait in lines and then continue to wait for someone to come out to talk to you. When weighing my puppy, he was very excited and we couldn't get a good weight on him, which ranged from 38-41 lbs. The tech randomly called his weight 41.2 lbs. I didn't think anything of it until I went to pay the bill and realized WHY they chose that number; 41 lbs is the next weight bracket and higher cost. I asked for him to be re weighed and they said they would when he was sedated and refund any costs if he's under 41 lbs. When I went to pick him up, I asked about the weight and the person at the desk was confused and said they, "probably weighed him. But it shows 41.2 lbs on his chart." I told them that was a guess they did earlier. She didn't care and basically moved me along. I was very annoyed and felt like they purposefully tried to get more money out of us. They also charge for a medical cone and pain meds. How is that not included?! Once it was all said and done, total cost was about $290. This is not that much cheaper than a standard vet and you don't get the same care as your usual vet. However, since this puppy was from a rescue and a foster, my options were limited. I had even mentioned he's a foster and they still did not care to double check his weight. When running a rescue, every dollar counts and I was a bit annoyed by this. Overall, however, my puppy is healing nicely but they did a poor job with his surgical tape and glued part of his thigh skin to the incision site, which meant it was pulling until it had dissolved. It's a conveyor belt type clinic so if that's all you want, then you'll be fine with it but I don't think I would take my regular pets here if I could. Just my opinion. read more

Had such a positive experience here! All the staff members I spoke and interacted with were professional and personable. The process to make an appointment is straightforward. You may have to schedule a bit in advance, but it's definitely worth it if it can wait due to the affordability. I took my kitty here for teeth cleaning and 2 extractions. They were communicative with me during and after the procedure and ensured I understood what he needed. Let me start by saying this place was absolutely worth the drive from Hayward. I found it through some online forums and decided to give it a try - and I'm so glad I did. We arrived around 8:30 AM for our dog's drop-off, and even though there were a lot of people already waiting, the process was surprisingly smooth. They clearly have an efficient system in place. After check-in, we were brought inside to speak with the vet, who walked us through everything and answered our questions. Thankfully, our pup was healthy and cleared for the procedure with no concerns. We got a call around 11 AM letting us know everything went well, with a pickup time at 1 PM, which gave our dog time to rest and recover from anesthesia. The procedure went well and he's recovering nicely. Overall, the experience was a 5/5 - friendly staff, efficient service, and incredibly affordable pricing. In addition to spay/neuter services, they also offer vaccinations and microchipping. For our 1-year-old, ~25 lb cockapoo, the total for neutering and microchipping was about $250, which is honestly unbeatable. Love how well they took care of our dog during his neutering. The drop off and pick up is streamlined for efficiency. My only gripe and the reason for 4 and not 5 stars is the pickup process is a little slow. I get why but in summer, standing outside while they come out to us, was hot and tiring. No chairs outside, no order. Just people standing around, waiting. They do bring you inside to sit once it's your turn to get your fur baby. The prices are way better than any vet and they did a great job with his incision. He's healing beautifully. Just wish the pain meds were a part of the pricing. I had to pay extra for it. read more

So I have a few husky mixes at home and I need to spay 3 of my female dogs(1 is 7 years old and 2 are 3 years old) I've been looking for a spot that doesn't charge a crazy amount, I understand it might make me sound like I don't want to spend on my pupz. It's just I don't want to spend thousands, most places charge up from 500-700 for big sized dogs. *and special clinics have some requirements that don't line up with my schedule My veterinarian recommended this place to me so I checked them out(I reside in Fairfield). The process works by you calling or going online and requesting a procedure. You will have to check their dates, but they aren't crazy booked. They send you the paper work online and basically just fill it out and payment will be due upon arrival. The forms tell you of what you need to do before bringing your dog or cat. Get there by 8 the day of the procedure (it's in a quiet shopping center with parking). You step into the facility,without your pet, and check in take care of the paperwork and payment. It gets busy. Then stay at your car till they come and get you and you fur baby. You will speak with the nurse and surgeon , any concerns and questions answered. They aren't super helpful and polite being swamped with the intakes. After that you surrender your pet. Wait a few hours usually by 3 ish your pet will be back in your care with their medicine and aftercare info. They have cones, and other medicine available. I have spayed already two of my dogs Zoey(7years) recovering currently a week after surgery Rosie(3year) two months healthy and active SO check them out support them. They are here for your pets, so show them some love. They are here to help you with your lil babies. Ps..(((for certain size dogs 65 lbs. is an ideal weight for the surgery)) at least for my dogs. The staffs were very nice and friendly. They did what they promised to do, which was to call us before pick up time to give a pick up time estimate. The check-in time was between 8:30-9 for dogs, we got there a little early and they checked us in but we waited until 9ish for them to take the dog. It was very busy at this early morning for check-in so I can understand. However, once received the process only took a couple hours and we got our dog back around 1pm, counting the resting time for the dog. We made a day of it while waiting for him. Absolutely unacceptable care and shady billing. Avoid this place. I dropped my cat off today for a neuter procedure and this experience was a nightmare from start to finish. When I booked online, I paid a $20 deposit, and the website clearly showed my remaining balance would be $150. When I dropped him off this morning, the technician suddenly told me the remaining balance was $170. No explanation. No breakdown. Just an extra $20 magically added on top of the deposit I had already paid. At that point my cat needed the surgery, so I had no choice but to pay. When I picked him up around 3:00-3:30 PM, the technician casually mentioned that he "had an accident" after surgery but that they "cleaned it up." That turned out to be a blatant lie. When we got home and took him out of the carrier, my boyfriend and I discovered that my cat was completely soaked in urine. Not damp. Not a little messy. SOAKED. They did not clean him. They simply put a puppy pad over the accident and left him sitting in his own urine from around 1:30PM until pickup hours later. This is beyond dangerous because post-surgery stitches are not supposed to get wet. We immediately called the clinic, and instead of being concerned or offering a solution, they were dismissive and told us this was "normal." Apparently, in their world, it's totally fine to send pets home covered in urine. They offered no help, no apology, and no guidance. I had to call another clinic in Lathrop just to ask what to do, because obviously we cannot leave our cat soaked in urine. That clinic immediately told me he should not get wet and that wiping him down was necessary. Without me even mentioning the name of where we went, the person on the phone asked, "Was it Pet Advocate?" That says everything. Clearly this place has a reputation for neglect like this. The lack of care, accountability, and basic compassion is shocking. Between the surprise charges and the way they treated my cat after surgery, it is very clear that they do not give a shit about your animals. I am so pleased with my experience at The Pet Advocate! I booked a dental cleaning for my dog, Zero, and needed to reschedule it a couple of times, but the office staff was very understanding and flexible. Once I finally was able to commit to a date, the correspondence I received from TPA was clear and helpful. I was told when to begin restricting food/water, what time to arrive, and the details of the check-in process. As directed, I arrived by 8am and notified office staff. I was quickly greeted by the vet tech, Jill, who was absolutely the best. Jill was warm, patient, and knowledgeable. She let me see where the procedure would be preformed and where Zero would be held, and explained when/why she would call (if blood work was concerning, if it wasn't safe to sedate, if they had suggested extractions). Despite being nervous, Jill definitely helped me feel better about leaving my boy in her care. Since his bloodwork was fine, the next time I heard from Jill was when she called to share suggested extractions. She briefly reviewed the dentition of a dog, explained where there were areas of concern in Zero's mouth, and was able to give me monetary figures when asked. She took time to consider my follow-up questions and I felt the interaction was professional while being empathetic and frank. At no time did I feel that she was trying to upsell me or otherwise get more money out of me. When I picked Zero up, Jill came out holding him. She sat with me and reviewed his bloodwork line by line, his X-rays, and showed me before and after pictures of his teeth. She also provided me with clearly labeled medications. We talked about food and general aftercare, including what I might observe, and I felt comfortable about heading home. They used to let my husband hold my dogs while feeding them yummy food. Today I brought my puppy for the first vaccine, the staff showed the unhappy face when I told them I'm going to feed the puppy. Execute me, I'm the one feeding my dog I'm not giving you guys extra work. In fact, this made your work easier because it calmed my dog while being injected. Despite only ordering a spay, not the spay package I was charged for the package and mislead about optional costs. "Yeah I ordered the spay, not the package. The e-collar isn't included with the spay, right?" "No the e-collar is included with the spay." And when I took my cat home because I didn't want her to be trapped in the carrier any longer I took that at face value and didn't triple check the receipt. ‍ Feels redundant to ignore what you scheduled online to then slap on services day of appointment. 100% my fault for not checking. 300% their fault to practice something slightly scummy. I like how verbally I was told about the spay, microchip, and pain injection costs but not the e-collar. Make sure to check your receipts for sneaky opportunities. Edited 3 stars down to 2 stars. I brought my female husky, Cali, here to get spayed and had a great experience! Check-in was fast and efficient, and although there was a long wait, they mention that in the email beforehand, so I knew what to expect. The staff was super nice, and I appreciated that the vet talked with me before taking my dog back for the procedure. The only thing I'd suggest is having two separate lines -- one for drop-offs and another for payments -- since it was a little confusing at first. Tip for pet parents: if your dog has a cone, they may have trouble eating on their own, so be ready to hand-feed. Also, hide their meds in food (I used meatballs!) and make sure to finish all the doses. My husky healed really well and was back to her normal self soon after the procedure, which shows how great their care is! I'd be a lot more excited about this vet clinic if they actually inform you that you have to pay $120 to register to put your name on the chip that they charge you $30 to insert into your pet. I would be way, way more excited about this veterinary clinic, but it basically ate the entire cost of me driving out there and getting a supposed discount on neutering when I have to come home and pay an extra $120 just to register the chip that I already paid for that was injected into my dog. And hard pass on the 1 Peter 4:10 religious messaging on their site. With the message being "each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace and in it's various forms" you would think that they could use their lips to share with you that they are going to gouge you again after you get home. I have no doubt that they take a percentage for every registration. I brought this Foster Pet here thinking that I might be able to save a little bit of money because I took this dog off the street so it wouldn't be murdered in a shelter because he has multiple medical problems. I brought my puppy to The Pet Advocate for her spay. The facility is clean! It is a very busy place, but everything still felt organized and efficient. I really appreciated that they let us go to the back and speak directly with the doctor before the procedure. Everything was explained clearly, and all of my questions were answered. I had my 9 month old pomeranian neutered here. The pre surgery day instructions on the email were very clear and precise and it made the process on the day of surgery go smoothly. We did wait for quite a bit but it's not that bad and gave my dog more time to settle in a little bit. Dr. Mike was very helpful and informative. I told him that I'm very nervous for my dog Leo because it's my first time getting a dog fixed. He reassured me and explained the process, he also gave me a tour inside where they prepare them and do the surgery to put me on ease. Pain medication was also optional and I purchased it anyways since I don't want my dog to feel pain at all. My dog Leo came out drooling and groggy but just after 2 days, he's already energetic and never loss an appetite. Today marks the 3 weeks from the surgery and it healed beautifully. Very tiny incision and no blood or anything. They also used a skin absorbing sutures so we didn't need to come back and get it removed. Before coming here, I called so many places and they gave me a quote of at least $700 not including all other extras like microchip, meds etc. I only spent a little over $220 and that's including the cone, microchip and the medication. The price is nothing compared to other places and you get good service as well. This is indeed an advocacy place for pets that needs to get spayed/neutered. (so not my choice of places ) But my pup went in for a spay . common yes but also Kinda an intense procedure.. they called so I could pay extra for pain meds and a cone ?!?!! Our four-year old 11 lb (Poodle terrier mix) dog has regular non-anesthetic dental cleanings at our vet in Oakland. During our last visit, the dental guy found that our dog had a loose tooth. Our vet gave us an estimate in the $2K - $3K range to have the tooth extracted. We have another, older dog that has had extensive dental work, so we were not surprised by this estimate, but we are also realistic that due to the aforementioned older dog's dental bills this year (she has to go to a speciality dental clinic due to issues with prior anesthesia) we were tapped out budget-wise. After doing some research in local pet owner groups, I learned about The Pet Advocate. Our experience there exceeded expectations. Intake was very straightforward, and we were lucky enough to get an appointment right away due to a cancellation. (They take 3 dental patients a day). The vet and techs were all very friendly and thorough. They gave us a complete set of x-rays and photos that we can gove to our vet for our dog's record. The Pet Advocate is a 50 minute drive from our house, but there is a co-working space down the block, so I just parked myself there while our dog had his procedure. All things said, he was in great shape when I picked him up. I have recommended them to many friends who are seeking more affordable dental care for their pets. Dont ever waste your money coming here. Theyre so unprofessional, Rude and will leave your cat soaked in urine apon release after surgery. Apon arriving to drop my cat off in the early morning of January 12th at 8:30 am, we got a consultation about the pricing and process which we were told and made sure what the final payment amount would total up to $150 BEFORE we gave them our pet and on paying we were told it was going to be $190. As to which i asked why it was more than what the consolation said and The front desk person who couldnt stand on her own without a inhaler Dominque caught a attitude and started becoming rude because she wouldnt catch her breath after every word and got frustrated. We were called around 2 Pm saying we can pick up our cat from 3-4 apon arriving we notice he didnt have the cone on WE bought and provided and they said it did not fit when we tried it on him before we took him to make sure he came out wearing something comfortable. After we picked him up and brought him home we had noticed his carrier smelled like urine. To which we took him outside and inspected him. To our surprise The brainless imbeciles who work at The Pet advocate decided it was okay for him to go home soaked in his urine and potentially get a infection. I called Back the Pet advocate to ask why they would do this and what is wrong with them to which they either hung up the phone or sent me to voicemail 8 different calls. At the end we ended up calling a different clinic to ask what the solutions were which they actually helped and asked if we had went to The Pet advocate after hearing our situation. So obviously The Pet Advocate is known for leaving animals in even worse conditions or situations similar to ours today. I would stay away from this place as they dont care about animals and i will be contacting management or ownership about this horrible experience. During an annual check up, our local vet recommended a feline dental prophylaxis for our lady cat. They proceeded to give an estimate of $1788. The procedure included pre-op testing, blood screen & thorough oral exam & x-rays under anesthesia. Then Scaling and root planing the 30 teeth both above and below the gumline. Any needed extractions would be extra. After thinking this was excessive, we shopped it around with other local vets. Seems many facilities outsource lab work and use traveling techs who specialize in this. I took to the web and found The Pet Advocate in Tracy, CA which only specializes in "providing high quality, low cost spay, neuter, vaccinations & dental services for dogs & cats. This is all they do For the same services quoted by our local vet, the cost turned out to be $525! It was worth the 45 minute drive to Tracy, CA to save $1263! The best part is how professional, friendly & organized they are. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jill a Registered Veterinary Technician and she worked with us throughout the whole process. We were quickly put at ease with their attitude, knowledge and nice clean facility. Once Jill brought our cat in and introduced the vet they put our cat Sasha at ease before my eyes. This is very unusual for our rescue alley cat. Jill promised to call if there were any issues needing attention or when they were completed with the procedures. We had a great breakfast at the nearby Town & Country Cafe. In a couple of hours they called to say everything went great and we could pick Sasha Fierce up at 1:00PM. Jill had Sasha's tests, photos, x-rays and reviewed everything with us. We're eager to bring our rescue boy cat next! read more

I brought 3 4-month-old female cats to the Pet Advocate in early November to have them spayed. There are 'barn cats' for my ranch to handle rodents, and I didn't want t kittens showing up in the spring. The registration was simple, the reception at the office was great and very organized .. All 3 cats were in great shape when I picked them up and none showed issue with pain and irritation ... they all purred that day. Had the BEST experience with The Pet advocate!Literally every step of the process was so seamless - from booking online, to pre-appointment email and text reminders, to the actual appointment and even clear post-operation instructions. My kitty healed so well from her Spaying procedure, and the cut was so tiny! The Vet definitely knows what he's doing! The ladies at the front desk and all the vet assistants are so kind and patient and very professional. I appreciate The Pet Advocate so much. Our neighborhood is overrun with strays and getting the appointments through the TNR programs is difficult. I love being able to bring them here for a more affordable option. It would be super amazing if they would implement a number system for dropping off pets. There's always a stressful scramble with people getting ahead of you when you arrived first. read more
