Sympathy card from the staff after my folks said goodbye to their husky last week

These folks are so thoughtful, I'm so touched hearing my parents describe the care and attention they got throughout the process of losing their dog

I had to bring in my 18 year old fur baby after finding her in extreme pain in the morning. This vet center took us in right away in our emergency, met us outside with a gurney to help bring her inside. We had to say our goodbyes to my precious Honey B, but I was very comforted there. The staff were amazing and feeling. Very empathetic. They gave us as much time as we needed with our fur baby. I hadn't been here before, but I'm glad I went here. Compared to other vets I've been to, this is the best. Also affordable.. It took more stress off me knowing I could afford to give my baby the best farewell. I felt like there was no better place to be. They also gave me a lot of options for urns and made a paw print mold for free for a keepsake. I'm very sensitive and sentimental. I do recommend taking your pet here whether it's for a check up or a loving farewell.

I had a great experience at this vet. Compassionate vet and staff. I will return for any future vet needs and boarding my cat.

The woman who answered the phone didn't have amazing customer service but I was able to make a appointment and I trust my regular vet. The receptionist offered me 10:15 for the following day, which I wrote down and then at the end of the call confirmed 10:15. Later in the afternoon I received a text that I had an appointment at 10 am on the following day. 15 minutes may not seem like a big deal, but for someone like me who respects people's time, especially my own, it was frustrating. I left extra early because I did have some concerns and we arrived around 9:45 a.m. The parking lot was empty so we walked out dog around to let her potty before going in. The lobby is good sized with a decent amount of seating and there is a restroom for use. Check in and new patient registration was simple and we were seen within a reasonable time. I got the same feeling from the vet as I did from the receptionist, which wasn't great. There was no introduction or explanation. I only know what his name is now because it is listed on the receipt they emailed me. He checked her ears and mouth and immediately said she needed a dental cleaning. I explained she has them annually at our regular dentist and he stated "sometimes they need them more often". They have fliers for their dental cleanings on the wall and it just sort of felt like an immediate sales pitch, which I didn't like. Then, he grabbed her and turned her over without advising he was going to that, which made both my dog and I a bit uncomfortable and I ended up holding her so she would be calm. He offered to run tests but I explained again the two things we needed and he said he would give me a quote anyway and left the room. When the Veterinarian's Assistant came in, I had her remove the testing from the estimate and ok'd the things we did need. I am going to share the cost with you because I think it's helpful. We were charged: $59 for the exam, $35 for Bordetella, $98 for Cytopoint, and $12 for a medical waste fee. Our bill came to $204, however my credit card was charged $206.04. I was advised when I went to pay that there would be a 1% charge to use my credit card. I did not see a sign but the staff did tell me when I gave them my card just before I paid. I was fine with that and understand this is a common practice but again, with my time and money I am a meticulous person. I am always early and I save all receipts and log every transaction I make. I noticed later my receipt said $204 but my card was charged $$206.04. I contacted their office and asked for an updated receipt reflecting the charge and they replied "The credit card terminal charges 1% of the transaction amount." California law requires that the receipt accurately reflect the amount charged. If the surcharge isn't itemized, then the receipt is misleading and it looks like you were overcharged compared to the paperwork you were given. By law, businesses must give customers a truthful record of the transaction. Also, for comparison, our vet charges $44 for an office visit, $77 for Cytopoint and $1 for the Environmental Disposal Fee so their prices were definitely higher overall than what I typically pay. Ultimately my dog got what I brought her for but I do not know if I would choose to come to this office again.

The compassion of the Vet and RVN cannot be beat. I am amazed and humbled that such kind professionals took care of G'dog even with all the volume of pets involved. I am very grateful for the clinic and their staff for their service and helping people like me afford such important care. G'dog is a recently adopted rescue dog with no recent, if any, dental care. Luckily, only two teeth extractions were needed. One of the meds for the teeth extraction is liquid and needs to be refrigerated, but I got a cup of ice from a fast food place for the long drive home. For me, it was worth taking the time off and exploring the area, even with the extra driving time. I was at the Pet Advocates office door around 7:45am and I was heading home by 3:30PM. I will be coming back to Pet Advocates for as long as I can. Many thanks to the vet and staff who patiently took care of G'dog. He is already doing better without the previous pain in his mouth.

Our old Vet's office in Turlock changed ownership and they no longer had any of our dog's medical records, so we decided to just start over with a new vet. We found Dr Raj's reviews and decided to give him a try. We had a positive experience at this Vet's office. They keep a clean office, there is plenty of room in the waiting area to keep pets a safe distance from each other, and the staff was very professional in their handling of us. Dr Raj took the time to educate us about a few things, which I really appreciated. He examined our dog, who was scared and anxious about being at the Vet's office, with a very gentle hand and I could tell that he won her trust. The Vet's assistant was also very kind and informative, and I felt that she really took the time to connect with our dog as well. Dr Raj came up with a plan of action, and our dog is already showing signs of improvement in response to the treatment plan that we are faithfully following. I think we found our new Vet.

Anyways, when picking up the remains of your dog it's kinda' hard to remember stuff to ask while you're there, like "hey I noticed my dogs collar and leash she was wearing when I left her there aren't in the bag". I had too much on my mind to think of that at the time. Do I wanna go back and pick the collar and leash up? Why would I want a continuation of my sorry for even that.
