Since my first amazing experience here ... my senior baby Reptar of 12 years passed away 4/24/26 . I wasn't going to share my ending experience but out of love and respect for my sweet boy , I'm going to tell it . The mass ended up being mast cell tumor and the cancer had spread giving me weeks left with him . After his first removal 2/26 , the aftercare seemed like they cared , hence the 5 star review . They called after to check up on him , would answer my calls to any questions I had about his healing and such .. healing was going well . Then he got another big mass shortly after close to where the previous surgery was . We scheduled another removal . The 2nd removal and healing process was HORRIBLE . Engraved in my mind and truly traumatized forever .. and then the after care and treatment we both got from the staff , "supervisor" and vet assistants was beyond heartless . He was prescribed carprofen for his pain meds after surgery even though I asked for rimadyl since he's always taken that for pain . the carprofen had lamb flavor in it causing him to have outbreaks and suffering on top of the cancer attacking his body making his time left here more miserable . I couldn't figure out why or if it was the cancer ?? until I found out there was lamb in the pain pill and he's allergic to lamb .. I didn't know it had flavoring nor was I asked anything about allergies to things like that . I thought they were just normal pain pills being prescribed , I'd break half and put it in mashed potatoes or something soft and he'd just swallow it , he doesn't chew medicine ... so that upset me because he suffered for a while until I stopped giving him the pills and he immediately changed behavior and started acting back to normal and all the reactions settled . He was gushing blood and puss out of his new and old incision even though the old one basically healed , it was infected and forcing its way out reopening the healed scar . I called the office scared asking for advice and some antibiotics and Sam the receptionist really really really made this harder on me than it already was . Her attitude , the lack of empathy and respect she continuously showed throughout our interactions over the phone , lack of urgency when I needed to pass on important messages to Dr.Singh , she would refuse and try to give me her own advice FIRST until I was adamant I wanted it passed on ... I spoke to the office supervisor Shay about her actions because how are you the face of the vet/answering phones and have an attitude like that towards GRIEVING patients whose dog is currently dying ?! Ridiculous . Spoke to an employee named Zaire a couple times in replacement of Sam that were unpleasant as well , both need to be retrained in customer service and BOTH lacked respect and empathy ! It got to a point where he was constantly throwing up and I was researching that they can prescribe nausea pills or give a shot for relief , that option was being denied to me because they wanted me to come back in for another transaction "to see if he really needed them" instead of just prescribing my dying dog the pills at Costco for some relief in his final days ... Dr.Singh wasn't in the office for that request so Dr.Berrar according to what the staff told me , that he wouldn't give me anything until I came back in the office even though we were just there the day before and them all seeing the condition he was in . Shay did eventually offer for me to come in for a shot for 1 day relief FOR NOW but I was already so mentally drained after all the fighting , I got him help elsewhere for that . Dr. Singh told me personally in our visit if I needed anything medication wise to send in the request and he'd get on it and I was constantly being shut down while I'm trying to be an advocate and be strong for my dog while my heart was breaking from losing him .. so so discouraging on top of losing my best friend right in front of my eyes . After he passed away , I had so much hurt and anger towards the recent actions of this vet , I HAD to tell Shay EVERYTHING that happened , bawling my eyes out on the phone and eventually letting her know that he had passed away . $5000 later and my dog isn't here anymore , not once did the staff or Dr. Singh reach out with a call , send a card of condolences or anything . This felt very transactional and not genuine AT ALL . My poor baby suffered soooo much his last days and I was doing my ALL to fight for him and get him the help he needed , just for it all to be too late . All I have left to say is .... I hope the staff I dealt with never have such a deep attachment to someone special or an animal the way I did and be treated how I was while I was going and AM going through this HELL time , instead of being comforted and supported . Im giving them a 1 star because I can't do less. My daughter had taken our collie mix to Salida Sisk Vet for several years I stopped taking my dogs since the Vet was sold to Singh ( don't trust him) So we took her in because she wasn't acting like her self the assistant said they would have to put her to sleep to take X-rays and do blood work it would be 1,300 and something so we said that's fine that they would have to keep her for 2-3 hrs. Daughter went to pick her up, they told my daughter that she had lesions possibly bone infection or even Cancer or Vally fever ( my daughter called me so I was talking to the assistant) because they wanted another 1,700 and something to test her liver due to inflammation ( luckily I have medical knowledge so I said well the liver must be inflamed due to what ever she's fighting right? ) so the assist said yeah that's right so I said then that's not necessary then she said she also needed to be tested for Valley Fever and a biopsy due to the lesions that may be cancer. Didn't trust them so I told my daughter to bring her home to have them give her meds. They gave her 17 pills for pain and that was like $78 and said to keep her comfy! A week went by she was still acting different so I tolld my daughter to make her an appointment that I would pay the $450 something for the valley fever so we took her in again exactly 8 days from the 1st visit she was running out of meds so my daughter asked for RX so she can buy it through CHEWY cause she can get 78 pills for $24 dollars and they also wanted give her Gabapentin. After asking several question and being told that if she had valley fever she probably would have to go through extensive tx so I ask what would be the prognosis, she stated that she would probably pass away. So I said then it's pointless to pay for the Valley Fever. I asked the assistant if she could please have the Vet come in and talk with me that I had some questions she went to go get him and all I heard was my fur baby's name but he never came in to talk to me and sent her back in with the same BS. So before we left my daughter again asked for RX for Maya's pain meds it took them 3 days to send it to CHEWY even after we told them she only had 2 days left. A pt of mine happen to be a Vet téc. she referred me to Monte Vista I called them they asked Salida Vet for all medical records. She got worst on April 24 rushed ( she never got pain meds on time) her to Monte Vista and Vet came in with SALIDA VET MEDICAL RECORDS and X-Rays and told us she had a big mass of Cancer in her abdomen that had spread to her lungs and something with her heart she had to be put to sleep that same day. How the hell did Salida Sisk Vet NOT see that when it was their medical Records Monte Vista gave us the diagnosis from! They don't care about our pets money hungry bastard she was my whole world had they told us the truth we would have taken time off to be with her on her last days. Btw every time my daughter took her to her Vet visits she was told she was too fat that we needed to put her on a diet. All these years she had Cancer. I can't express my anger and all the pain I'm going through she was my WHOLE WORLD. This place is shady and all the so called Cracker Jack box vet licensed they purchased need to be revoked and shut them DOWN. I've talked to other people and they have had similar stories. When I was in around June to bring my cat in as I was waiting in the exam room I could hear clearly and for a long time your vet tech yelling at a dog that was crying. That situation was unprofessional unpleasant to hear for her to do in this environment where Vet medical procedures are done. It was unacceptable if you care about your establishment they need to be trained and have more understanding of animals that they are stressed enough being away from their home and have more compassion towards animals they are your customers loved ones and should be treated with dignity. I lost trust and did not feel comfortable to have my cat have her surgery here to remove her cyst when you got one employee that is impatient with animals with her yelling at them. On March 19, 2026, we brought our dog Butta to Sisk Veterinary Hospital for a planned dental cleaning and removal of a right shoulder mass. When we dropped him off that morning, he had no wounds on his back legs or abdomen. What we expected to be a normal recovery became an ordeal lasting almost six weeks. March 19: Butta was placed under general anesthesia. Sisk's anesthesia chart records monitoring from 10:40 a.m. through 1:35 p.m., a span of 2 hours and 55 minutes. Veterinary teams commonly use warming measures during anesthesia to maintain body temperature. Sisk's later medical note says we were told that warm towels and pulsed warm air had been used during his procedure. The same note records that he had been "on the table for long." March 21-23: Two days later, red areas appeared on the insides of both back legs and continued getting worse. On March 23, we emailed Sisk photographs and reported that Butta was scratching and licking the areas, trying to chew them, moving more slowly, and acting uncomfortable. Sisk prescribed hydroxyzine and told us to keep his cone on. March 24: At about 10 p.m., the injuries looked bad enough that we took Butta to Pacific Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital. They examined him and recommended sedation for a fuller evaluation and treatment. We were not comfortable proceeding with the proposed late-night emergency plan, so we took him back to Sisk first thing the next morning. March 25-28: We returned to Sisk on March 25 and March 27. By March 27, the damaged skin was open and oozing, and we had reported an odor. Butta walked stiffly on his back legs and had difficulty sitting. Sisk documented discolored wounds with dead edges and pus-like discharge, cleaned them, and took a culture. The culture later grew Enterococcus faecalis, and his antibiotic was changed to Clavamox. On March 28, we reported a separate injured area developing on the right side of his abdomen. It had begun as a red spot, but that skin also started breaking down. March 31: Because the wounds continued deteriorating, we transferred Butta's care to Jack London Pet Hospital in Oakland. Its records described infected wounds on both back legs with central eschar--dead skin covering the wounds--and stated that they were "concerning for thermal burn." The record also considered other types of burns and secondary bacterial infection. April 1-6: Butta required repeated hospital visits involving sedation, cleaning and debridement to remove dead tissue, wet-to-dry bandages, sugar and honey dressings, bandage changes, and monitoring. As the dead skin separated, the wounds opened further and exposed the tissue underneath. There was initially not enough healthy skin to close them. April 8: After the wounds had contracted enough, Butta was sedated again. Both wounds were debrided and surgically sutured closed. He then had to remain in a cone with his activity restricted while they healed. By late April, his sutures had been removed and his treatment was complete, almost six weeks after the original procedure. The veterinary bills we documented for the procedure and resulting care totaled $5,293.57. We drove 601.2 treatment-related miles and spent approximately 40 person-hours cleaning and treating the wounds, giving medications, changing pads and bedding, taking photographs, monitoring him, and communicating with the hospitals. Fortunately, Butta recovered. We are deeply grateful to Jack London Pet Hospital for taking over his care and getting him through the later stages of treatment. Everything described here is supported by medical records, dated photographs, invoices, and contemporaneous emails. I have a 3 1/2 year old male Rottweiler that is extremely grumbly and he even postures. Most people are very judgmental about his behavior, but the vet tech and vet were awesome. They treated my dog and I professional and were very caring. I made an emergency appt because my dog hurt his front paws while camping. I was able to be seen right away and I was charged a reasonable price, much lower than expected. Wish I could use 0 stars. This establishment is very unprofessional & greedy. We brought in our dog for an xray and they proceeded to milk us out of every cent they possibly could. We told them to focus on the injury and when they left the room, we could hear the staff mock us for not wanting any further treatment unrelated to the injury. We heard an assistant tell the doctor "do the xray and do nothing else" with such a disgusting tone. We could hear the staff mock us on how we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on this injury which is completely unacceptable. They attempted to convince us to go through with surgery without attempting to talk about a splint or medication. They withheld information on how to heal the injury without drastic costs. The assistant who first checked us in, young and in pink scrubs on 06/24, was completely unprofessional and petty. When my husband told her we did not want to spend too much she gave the doctor a look. If you're going to be petty, do it behind closed doors. Spending money was never the issue, the issue was the greed behind this establishment. The assistant who checked us out and gave us the medication was an angel. She should give the rest of the staff lessons on how to be professional. Do not bring your pets here unless you want them to take advantage of your emotions. To the assistant who gave us advice at the end of the appointment, thank you! She was wearing a black scrub top and had glasses. This business is absolutely disgusting now that I've seen how the business owner responds to negative reviews. Do yourself a favor and stay away. The biggest regret is giving this place our money. I cannot say enough about the care and patience of this vet. Dr Singh deserves shoutouts and praise for his quality of care, patience, and clear communication. We live in Hayward and drive out to Salida just to meet with him! The first time I came to Sisk, Dr Singh, helped take care of my dog who had pneumonia and was not getting good care at other vets. He showed me where my dog would be kept, observed, and how they would diagnose what may be going on. This really helped me feel at ease and comfortable. He also prescribed some antibiotics which really effectively helped my dogs recovery. The 2nd time I had to get some xrays and do a dental cleaning for zeke. He spent time before the appointment examining his teeth, and addressing my questions about zekes health. Based on that, he suggested we wait for the xrays and more information and then determine next steps. Worst vet I have ever been at! I took my cat in she was very sick and they were going to charge me $1,500 for medication blood work and x-rays just to find out what the problem is then they can proceed to diagnose her. I was forced to take a the medicine because my cat really needed it and without the blood work and x-rays scans it came out to $300. I went the next day to another vet and they only charged be $250 for blood work and said x-rays were not necessary they did a much better job and gave me a bunch of discounts for my inconvenience at this vet. Do not go here they overcharge they may seem friendly but they try to slide in their overcharged prices as if everyone can afford $1,500 for medicine blood work and x-rays when another vet does it cheaper, better handing, better service, cheaper prices, and won't add unnecessary procedures to get more money. Our girl Daisy had a episode on a Sunday afternoon. Although she had never been seen there, they told us to come right in. She was hospitalized for 3 nights and the staff and Dr. were amazing. She could have come home sooner but we were very anxious and the Dr let her stay another night. She was a mess as far as needing a good bath and nails done. Dani, the groomer, and other staff tackled her nails and then bathed her before going home. During the whole experience, the Dr and staff were understanding and very helpful. My Bella, my rescue terrier, now 14 years old developed a left eye infection. I have had a previous outstanding experience with Dr Singh's unbelievable surgical talent . He once put back together our cat, Sissy, she got run over. The x-rays were just heartbreaking. She had 13 fractures most of which needed hardware fixation. I could not believe it could be done, but very amazingly, he put her all back together. Sissy was up and and returned to her normal sassy self . She was running around again in 2-3 weeks. Last week he got a foxtail out of my Bella ( 14 years old Terrier), just with local anesthesia. He even did a fluorescence exam of her eye to make sure there was no corneal ulcer. Dr Singh and staff explained all costs before taking Bella back. I know he could've opted to say she needed a general anesthesia and labs, but he wanted to put her through as little as possible given her age, not to mention the added cost that would be involved. The staff all loved on my Bella. Miss Bella, instead of wanting to go back to the car outside, was pulling me back to the surgical area, almost like she wanted to say bye and thank you to the entire team. Dr. Singh and everyone was so gentle. Knowing Bella's sweet nature, and everybody's compassion, i'm not surprised , because at this age, she usually never wants to leave my side. I work in healthcare and after 30 years, believe me I can instantly "smell" the difference between humane and ethical care versus profit as the more important interest. Through the life cycles of five different pets, I am eternally greatful to Dr. Singh and his staff for being that " Diamond in the rough," especially at a time when a profit mentality is taking over both the human and animal healthcare industry. I had an extremely disappointing and distressing experience at this clinic. I visited because I needed urgent care for my pet, who had not been eating for several days. When I explained that she had recently undergone oral surgery (all her teeth were removed about six months ago) and that her red throat was likely due to that, the vet completely dismissed my concerns. Instead of addressing the obvious inflammation with a simple steroid or antibiotics, the vet insisted on charging me $800 for blood work and testing for leukemia and FIV. I informed him that my pet had already been tested by our regular vet and that her condition did not warrant such extensive and expensive diagnostics. He even suggested a meal stimulation to encourage her to eat, which was unnecessary given the clear context of her previous surgery and symptoms. It became clear that he has no sympathy for pets--his only concern appears to be money. I believe a vet should listen to a pet owner's insights and prioritize the animal's well-being, not impose excessive fees for unwarranted tests. I paid $75 for the visit with no help from him--they just wanted me to pay for tests that weren't needed. Seventy-five dollars is money I could have used at a good vet to get help for my beloved pet. I feel I was robbed--not everyone has money to do all the unnecessary testing, especially not in this day and age. I have been working with veterinarians for many years, and this is the worst practice I have ever encountered. Caution: They just want your money, not to help your pet. read more

Just wanted to update this, our dog needed an emergency treatment so we went ahead and signed the invoice and paid what you asked because we were concerned that we would not be able to get her to another vet that it would not be safe. Come to find out it was wildly overpriced. Preying on people for money when they need help is not the right thing to do. Also, we resolved the infection in her eye first then the eye ointment was used so please don't say nobody would do that when we did one than the other and it's correct. I don't care what you say. Honestly, it doesn't really matter because I won't ever bring a pet to your office again and I hope that nobody else will either, I think that you may get business out of necessity and that's probably the way it'll always. We have two dogs and have moved around a lot, it's hard to find a quality, caring, compassionate, and communicative vet but Dr. Singh was all of those things. Our Golden had been fighting respiratory issues for a few months, we had seen a few vets but it wasn't until Dr. Singh that we felt heard and a thorough work up had been completed and our boy was diagnosed and treated appropriately. He was patient, took time to educate us, show us images, and help us understand what to expect. Hey clearly loves what he does. The only downside was the front office staff did not seem as passionate about working with animals or providing great customer service. Overall absolutely would recommend Dr. Singh. We've been taking our dog since last year. They have good package deals that save you money for vaccines and appointments. We recently took her to get spayed and had a good experience. When she got spayed the vet also noticed a rash and also gave her medicine for that too. The lobby is pretty spacious and clean. The parking lot is pretty small. I would give this veterinarian zero stars if I could. I recently adopted a kitten from the shelter who shared a kennel with another kitten that had ringworm, confirmed by the shelter. I immediately brought the kitten to the vet office and he prescribed an anabiotic for a respiratory issue and some eye cream, even though I repeatedly told him and showed him where the ringworm was and all of the spots missing on both of my kittens. Flash forward to two weeks later and the spots are getting bigger the same concerns I brought them here for I have not gone away and they're getting sicker and sicker. The vet told me to bring them back, proceeded to tell me that they would have to test for everything they had already tested for and charged me a brand new exam fee, even though I had already brought them for these same exact issues two weeks prior. The vet is very aware that they have ringworm and won't prescribe the medication until I agree to pay for new testing all over again. I got scammed big time and my kittens still aren't receiving the treatment that they were supposed to receive because I've already paid for this treatment please please please take your animals anywhere else, I've never seen this level of unprofessionalism and blatant. They were quick to schedule our doberman Heidi to be spayed, all other vets were months out for large dogs. The staff was knowledgeable attentive & caring. Also, the staff did a follow up call the next morning early to make sure that Heidi was doing well. And the procedure is completely affordable. Today Sandra D needs to get an ( possible soon to be but luckily I caught it in time) infected ingrown nail cut that grew into her skin. She's almost 16 years old and doesn't groom as much as she used to So I do it for her I noticed this ingrown nail that already started to Scab but not smell. I attempted to take care of this on my own but then it started to I called Sisk because I had brought Jade Marie here during the pandemic to get an annual check up. They were doing curbside pickup then and are still doing it now Our appt is at 4pm. I come froM Stockton to bring my babies here . It's traffic. We arrive at 4 20 ( go figure) lol I call. They come out to get here , 15 to 20 mins later. Np I'm late The vet tech that checked my baby in , is so sweet We had her last time also 15 mins later.... The Doc calls . She talks to me for a bit . Sandras ingrown nail has been removed It grew into her pad . Poor baby It's bleeding . They will give her an antibiotic shot. I will get her more wet They want me to bring her back tomorrow for a bandage change Oh but of course I'm thinking when she comes out she will have a cone Somebody is going to be pissed $155 later Sandra is better read more

This is a great place to being your pet because the vet and staff are friendly, caring, and super sweet. Dr. Singh has many years of experience and truly cares about your pet. We brought our little shiba when she was a couple of months old after noticing she was urinating more than the average pup. After running a couple of tests, she was diagnosed with congenital kidney disease. It's unfortunate, but she is always in good hands and excellent care when we bring her to Sisk vet. Almost a year ago my dog suffered what was diagnosed as a type of stroke. I only ended up at sisk because it was the closest to my home in my emergency. That being said, the entire staff was beyond empathetic, understanding, making what I was thinking would be my dogs last day. Thankfully he slowly came out of it and has made almost a full recovery. The Dr. was extremely explanatory in options and continued care. For this reason, I will be taking him back for an ear issue he's continued to have that the seemingly "top clinic" in Escalon couldn't seem to get a handle on. read more

SALIDA SISK VETERINARY HOSPITAL I give Zero Stars. THEY ARE AWFUL!!! WORST practice EVER, don't bring your pets here unless you want to have the worst customer service EVER. They up the price without telling you, they add things to the Well visits without asking. They DO NOT give you paperwork for your Visit You have to call and call. When days later finally received summaries, after multiply calls and them telling me to drive back to Salida to pick them up, after telling me they would email me because obviously they couldn't be bothered to print out summaries the same day I came in. The summaries had multiple questions that I never answered that they just put whatever they wanted. At one point there was 5 people in the room it was like a circus. They all looked confused. I had to correct the nurse as she gave the doctor the wrong weight on one of my puppies. They are extremely unprofessional, rude and the DOCTOR was the Worst. BEYOND Unhappy. read more

We found this place through family members and also looking up on yelp, Dr. Singh has fantastic reviews. We took our puppy Captain here for his first check up! The place itself is easy to find. It's right infront of In N Out, and right next to the old savemart which is no longer open. It is a very clean office, and has a homey feel to it. You can just tell that they take awesome care of their customers and the little furry ones! We have had Amanda help us several times when we have gone in and she is awesome. She always answers our questions with confidence and great knowledge. She is very friendly! And Dr. Singh is a very good doctor! He does a thorough examination and and explains everything along the way. The best thing I like is that he is flexible. He is always easy to get a hold of in case of any emergency and makes time as well. I plan to go here Everytime and with future animals. Will recommend to all family and friends and my Yelp family! Yes Dr. Singh. We dropped our boxers off and had their vaccines updated. We called at almost 5PM and asked how much it would be if we kept them there overnight. We were told $108.28 for each dog, including vaccines and overnight boarding. When we went to pick them up the next day you added on an extra $100+. Had we been told that it would have been that much when we called on Friday, we wouldn't have boarded them overnight. I believe that you should have honored the quote we were given. However, you did not and that's okay, we will not be returning. Thank you. read more
