I found this place through Yelp and definitely regretted coming here. I came for an eye exam and found myself wasting a lot of my time. I waited for about 15 minutes for the optometrist to come in. As soon as the optometrist came in, she looked at the time. After doing a short test, she left the room (to attend to another patient) in which I was again left for another 15-20 minutes. When she came back, she continued to keep her eye on the time. I felt like the whole process was very rushed. The way she spoke to me and how fast she was trying to finish everything. In the end, they also try to force you to pay as much money as you can through your insurance. I'm paying hundreds of dollars through one visit and I would appreciate it if they do not stack their patients within the same time frame and take time to answer their patient's questions. I will not be coming back to this place. read more

My son was only 2 1/2 and needed a very high RX glasses. We had gone to see Dr. Nyong'O at PAMF and were stunned that my son's RX was +7!!! He recommended that we go to see Golden Dublin for children's glasses and they would take care of us. Dr. N is a fantastic MD and comes really highly recommended but we were just stunned so we made an apt to get his eyes rechecked there. Dr. Vo was such a sweetheart and came to the same conclusion as Dr. N. She took lots of time with us and then we came to choosing the glasses. This is one of the few places that carries Solo Bambini frames (they look like goggles) which are what you would need for such a small kid who also has a younger brother who will pull his glasses! Alan spent quite a bit of time with us making sure we understand everything and we were set! They were ready within a few days and everything was perfect!!! So, apparently Lasik isn't permanent, because 10 years after my surgery I discovered I needed glasses. I called my vision plan to find an optometrist and was annoyed to find I only had two to choose from without driving up to San Ramon until I saw Dr. Dang was a Berkeley Optometry grad. I went to the Berkeley Optometry school for eye care for YEARS and they were always fabulous, even as just students. Dr. Dang was even better. She explained what happened with my eyes better than the ophthalmologist I had seen for the problem the week before, was very precise about determining my prescription, and explained why she wrote it the way she did. Wendy, the office manager, was friendly and patient and not only did NOT try to rush my frame selection, she encouraged to me try as many as I wanted and offered to open early the next day so I could get another opinion before work. She recommended a style I would never have even tried on by myself and I loved them. She didn't push any extra expensive options, but was happy to explain what was available for me to choose. She was super clear detailing what my insurance covered and what my cost would be. I was told the glasses would take two weeks to come in, but they were ready the next day. I recently moved to Pleasanton from Scottsdale, AZ and needed an exam and new glasses as mine had been scratched beyond reason. My insurance offered a pretty decent list of local places- I chose Golden due to the many good reviews I read. I was not disappointed. The assistant at the desk was quite friendly as she handled my paperwork, navigated my insurance benefits on the phone and did a few quick eye tests. My exam with Dr. Vo was thorough and she answered all of my questions in a very personable manner. After the exam, I indicated that I wanted glasses that day so Dr. Vo showed me over to the case and picked out a pair that was absolutely perfect for my face! Unfortunately, my insurance plan is a real pain, (Spectera) and I am limited with what I can select so Wendy showed me some great ones that had the same shape. The one star here is for the nice eye exam experience with Dr Pham, but I'm very disappointed in my brand new Tom Ford glasses that got scratched. So I got my glasses last week but they were very loose/wide, so I asked the staff to tighten them, but she didn't know how to do it and carried it to the other office to ask someone else to do it. So after several attempts they finally got it right and made me sign some forms before I walked away with my glasses. They informed that I could come back with any problem with my new glasses. After several days of babying my glasses, I found some scratches at the bottom of the left frame. I went back to the office to inform them of this issue, they said I probably scratched it myself, but I told them I didn't because I never dropped it or hit it against anything. After making me wait for a long time, their manager Wendy came back to tell me that there's nothing they could do because the warranty doesn't cover this issue. She even suggested something so ridiculous as to using a black marker to cover the scratch marks! I walked away very sad that my brand new glasses which I spent a lot to invest on has scratches only within a few days, then it dawned on me that their staff could very well be the ones who scratched my glasses while adjusting it multiple times with possibly little experience! But too late now, what can I do at this point? They for sure won't admit or do anything about it, judging from their irresponsible attitude on how they handled my issue. I will never come back here even though it's the closest optometry to my office! read more

My husband and I have been patients here for a couple of years now. They have very flexible hours and always find a convenient time to see my husband. He has to come in during the nights or weekends because he works long hours. The doctors are very nice and the whole staff is helpful. I had a great experience in Golden. I had my eye exam in the other optometry store but stopped by to check out the frames. The Doctor was very helpful in explaining the reasons for the prescriptions and how the frame and adjustment can help my vision. The lens I got was just perfect. Besides, the staff (Jason) was very helpful. The store was busy at that time but he didn't rush me for the decision and offer different frame and lens choices. I came here to get a new pair of glasses and I'm so glad I did! They have such a large selection of frames which is really important for me since I've always had trouble finding a pair that looks good with my face shape. The lady was so helpful and patient with me while I tried on a bunch of frames. She also was able to rush order my glasses since I needed them for my upcoming trip. I may not always get the most experienced & attentive staff to help me out every time, but I always get my problems solved with the best efforts from Dr Dang & her staff. This time I found a screw was missing from the temple of my Tiffany sunglasses so I brought it to the store to fix. A staff replaced with a screw which was too long & stick out. At first, the store tried to order the same temple to replace the damaged one. But, this model was no longer in catalog & they said they would give me $50 credit for buying a new frame. I was not satisfied because it's very expensive to order a new pair. They agreed to try to find other matching temple. Two days later they showed me a good match which are temples they took out from another more expensive Tiffany sunglasses. They are pretty with some nice crystals. They saw my frame had polarized prescription lens & had been modified with added nose pads so they realized my frustration & helped me with this replacement. It's really hard to find something that fit & even better than the old ones. This time they outdid themselves again. Thank you very much to Dr Dang & her staff! read more

We ended up taking the prescription to Costco purely because of the price. My daughter and I are very satisfied with this place. Their doctors are very nice and super approachable. We have been coming to this place for years now and will continue to do so. When you call this place, you can actually understand them over the phone. Yes, this place is very busy but it is because they have a lot of loyal patients due to their great service. Wendy, is the BEST! She will make sure that you will be taking care of what you need. She is very friendly and funny. She is not a typical Asian who would always say "yes yes" to what you are saying and cut you of while you are trying to explain and pretend she understands but really not which most Asian places would do. Say "yes yes" and do another thing. Wendy is humble and knows how to listen and understand what you need. Takes her time with explaining things and will take care of what you need. I also noticed that the rest of their staff are also calm and willing to listen to what you are saying and they do not talk so loudly with their own language in front of you. Wendy IS THE BEST. My daughter and I would probably go to another eye doctor if Wendy had to leave this place. The staffs there are very friendly and nice. Wendy, the manager, explain their ortho-k program to me very thoroughly and she's very knowledgeable. Our whole family is Dr. Dang's patient. My older son is under Dr. Dang's care for the ortho-k. My son started to wear glassed when he was five years old and his near-sightedness is pretty bad, therefore, Dr. Dang place him on the ortho k program. He doesn't has to wear glasses now and see very clearly. He's able to swim and play lots of sport without the need of wear glasses. Dr. Dang is very intelligent, patience, efficient, thorough, friendly and caring. She cares every single one of her patient and take her time to explain everything in detail and take care of all our concern. She is a great doctor. Went there b/c they were in my insurance network and close by. They have some nice frames, but aside from the manager, the other were not really good. They got my glasses with a week delay, so I was pretty unhappy. But what really @#$% me off was that even though they told me (and charged me for) anti scratch coating, and even though as a person who has work glasses since the age of 3, I am super careful with my glasses, the lenses got scratched within couple of months. Now, usually, I never have scratched on my glasses even after a year. So I suspected there was something up with the coating. I tool the glasses to another place, and sure enough, they coating was not done right. Since I had already used my insurance, I had to pay out of my own pocket to re-lens the glasses. I would not go back to Golden Dublin, and if I ever see a frame I like there, I will try to get the info on that frame and have someone else order it for me. read more

i've been going to golden dublin optometry for about 2 years now. i usually got my routine exams and order contact lenses here, and i had no issues. but it was when i went to golden dublin optometry for my brand new sunglasses that was bought overseas and got broken on the 2nd day by my mistake. i forget the name, but the manager was very much willing to help me with this issue even though she did not know i was a customer there in the beginning. she told me a way to send my broken sunglasses to manufacturer's warranty service with detailed information. she also looked up my insurance coverage and found out that i was eligible for double coverage. with that information i could have gone to other places to buy my new sunglasses, but because she was such a big help, i bought a very expensive sunglasses from her. i felt she deserved my business. i felt her service was exceptional, and that's why i'm giving this place a 5-star. i will be going there again for any of my vision needs. read more
