This is a very good Chinese Buffett. It also features a Mongolian grill. There is plenty of features and all buffet items are steaming hot. They have a nice buffet of sushi as well. A full dessert buffet is presented as well. Then there is also an ice cream machine with both Chocolate and Vanilla available in a self serve cone or cup. The service was prompt and friendly. There is more food than anyone can eat. The place is clean and well maintained. Very enjoyable and we will return. Weekend buffet was $15 per person on a Sunday. And well worth it. read more

Attentive waiter, food for the most part was about a 3, no real flavor to most of it. Hot and sour soup thick and again, not much flavor. I did see the billboard advertisement on my way to Hutchinson and decided to try it on my way back. Apparently the person who named this establishment wasn't feeling very creative--- China Buffet. It made it easy when doing a Yelp search. They are very reasonably priced for lunch. I was seated immediately. The servers did a good job cleaning and clearing the table during my visit. I usually rate these by the eggrolls and peel & eat shrimp. The eggroll was very good. They didn't have any peel & eat shrimp. They had some seafood on the buffet--- mainly shrimp & vegetables, clams and calamari. The vegetable lo mein was very good. I suppose there's lots of salt in the food since I drank around a gallon of water afterwards. Bathrooms are clean as well. read more

Worse part was either lack of caring servers.. they had s we ever but were rude or the fact the building was not even cool EXCEPT for where the staff stood. Because that's what it should be called instead for more honesty. Honesty is the best policy arguably in this situation. Customers deal with undercooked, very dry, and flavorless food here while dealing with coldly distant workers who work at this restaurant. Not surprised it hasn't went bankrupt because of how desperate Americans are these days. Don't think the safety authorities are doing their jobs by not putting this out of business. Some of the older reviews looked bad but we went ahead and decided to try it. This place was very good. General Tso's chicken was just how I liked it. Drinks stayed filled. Hibachi and sushi were both available. Price was pretty reasonable for weekend seafood night (around $12 as of today anyway). We tried this place 3 Years ago and it was the absolute worst food ever. Was told it was taken over by a new owner and was remodeled so we tried it again a few days ago. I guess if you swerp and mop it is a remodel. New owner must be the old owners eife because the same rude employees are also there. Service was horrible and food was even worse than I remembered. Beef road tadtef like Tilex bathroom cleanest smells. Shrimp on ice had no taste. Greasy stir friars had old grease flavor and hot tea was barely room temperature. Going into this place you know that it's going to remind you of the $1 Chinese food places. But when it's late at night and you want something to eat and everything in this podunk town is closed, it becomes a possibility. Obviously, this place is buffet style. The food tends to be a bit on the greasy side. That could be because they don't have a whole helluva lot of foot traffic. The people were nice enough though. In this small town, this is some of the better Chinese food. But just for future reference, next time you're out late and need something, head to Sonic. ;) read more

Chinese buffet off the highway in Emporia, Kansas. Whaddya expect? The buffet has lots of options (I was going to say "food," but trying to be honest here), and the staff is always very friendly and attentive. I used to get their fried rice and almond? chicken? to-go on a pretty regular basis when I lived in Emporia, and it was consistently to my liking. The place has been given paint and a bit of a renovation since the last time I was there. The service has always been pleasant and attentive, and was the same on a visit there yesterday. The menu is pretty standard Chinese Buffet fair, but they do have Dim Sum and steamed and fried dumplings. The Hong Kong chicken is enjoyable, as are the other dishes. They move a lot of food and the place is always crowded when I have been there at lunch. As such, the entrees are hot and fresh. read more

Horrible service!! Waiter never came to check on us, we never got refills, my Diet Coke was flat, food was old and dried out. We didn't even get our check until we got to the register. They weren't busy, our waiter was standing, or leaning rather, on the ledge staring out the window, sitting in a booth with another waiter looking at her phone or his phone. I was afraid to go here because of the decor outside, but I was pleasantly surprised. Granted this is not fine dining, but the food was pretty tasty. I agree about the other reviewers oily comment, not uncommon in this type of cuisine I think. The waitress I had was super nice and quick with my drink refills. And it offers enough variety that if someone in the party isn't in the mood for Chinese, they can have slices of pizza or other normal fare samplings. It fills that Chinese food craving. I ate there for lunch yesterday at around 1145. The food was already dry but they appeared to have just put it out, so don't know what's happening there. I did take it to go and was disappointed that they have started using smaller to go container but the price has not changed.
