Oooh we! That peanut butter milkshake!!!! We found Do-B's on Google Maps while on a long drive across Kansas and it did not disappoint! All burgers and beef, like the patty melt, are locally sourced from the Kansas Flint Hills region. The burger was nicely cooked and served up with French fries that were delicious! A true hidden gem in Kansas. The menu brings a vintage Route 66 vibe with a classic Kansas twist that makes the whole experience feel nostalgic in the best way. Everything is made fresh to order, so don't expect a quick in-and-out meal unless you call ahead. The wait is part of the process, and honestly, it shows in the quality. If you are vegan or vegetarian, there are a few things to be aware of. The menu can be a bit misleading. The grill top and utensils are shared with meat, and all fried food is cooked in beef tallow. That means fried items are not vegan or vegetarian. If cross contamination is a concern, I recommend letting the staff know so they can change gloves and sticking with options like a salad without meat toppings. The staff was extremely friendly and happy to answer questions, which made navigating the menu much easier. I didn't notice a microwave, and it was pretty busy during my visit, but it might be worth asking if the black bean or vegan patty can be prepared separately. There are gluten free and keto options on the menu. Others in my group really enjoyed their meals, and my salad was fresh presented well. I would definitely come back. We stopped at Do-B's on our way to Prairie National Reserve and it lived up to my expectations. It's on a quiet street in Emporia and has a lot of food choices, from fish to wraps to burgers etc. It's also one of the highest rated restaurants in the area and I can definitely see why. The place gave me a fast casual eatery vibe but also a little feel of grandma's house because of this small glass showcase they had with some items in it. All food items are priced decently. I got the blackened fish with rice and fries and my husband got the Hornet Burger with fries. Both dishes were really good. The fish was cooked just right, moist and seasoned really well. The burger was also done perfectly with a juicy tasty patty. Fries were fresh and crispy...cherry on top!! Service was quick and the staff was very sweet. The restaurant was also very clean. They even have some of their own sauces and salsas for sale, plus some grab-and-go options which is nice and convenient especially for college students. Note - they also have a Do-B's reaper burger challenge which sounds fascinating. However, I don't ever think i will be able to try it ever Haha. To conclude - 5/5 for me. read more

I have to say I travel often and my go-to or hamburgers. I consider myself a connoisseur of hamburgers. Do-B's has one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. The fries were also perfectly cooked, and they had an overwhelming amount of dipping sauce flavors to choose from. At first glance at the menu, I thought the 8-inch sub lengths and the pricing would mean a bad value, but nothing could be further from the truth. I met family in Empora at Do-B's based off of Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! This is a solid old school diner and literally everything on the menu is good. From milkshakes to po-boys, you will love your meal here. I knocked it down one star for two reasons: it's a small place so seating is at a premium! I didn't notice this from other reviews so if you have a big group, this probably isn't the place for you, or you may want to consider carry out. Also, the restrooms are on the exterior of the building. Granted, they are clean, but with a toddler and dodging freezing rain the day we visited, it was a massive drag to have to ask for a key and then trudge outside, dodging cold rain to use the restroom. To make matters worse someone on the stairwell above us poured a TON of dirty water right in front of where you wait and we nearly got drenched. So, that literally put a damper on the experience (pun intended!). At any rate, I'd 100% return the food is incredible, the people nice, and the ambiance is clean and nostalgic. read more

We ordered the shrimp, poor boy, small with fries, and the Italian sausage small with fries. Both sandwiches were outstanding to sandwiches to fries. Two drinks came to right at $32. Sandwiches were both very good fries were good and hot. They do seem to cook more batch style so depending upon when you get your order in it may take a little longer, but it is definitely worth the wait next time we're in Emporia. We will probably stop by and do it again. I do want to try their big burger though cause it is huge and looks absolutely delicious. Don't forget to do an Italian soda while you're there. The Luau burger was a nice change from the norm. They have a cute patio out back which was nice with a toddler. The menu includes a few burgers, cheese steaks (some are loose interpretations,) po boys, wings and other assorted sandwiches and sides. There's a small space on the menu for a group of salads if you're trying to eat healthy. They might be your only option. I went with The Hornet, which is two 6 oz burgers topped with jalapenos, grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon and four slices of cheese. Perfectly cooked, super tasty and filling. Simply amazing. I highly recommend. The restaurant itself is a bit difficult to navigate at first, but is perfectly acceptable when you get the hang of things. You place your order at the front register and get a number. It's a bit confusing because there isn't really a place for a line, so everybody kind of congregates together. The dining room fills up quickly, however, even though there's a wait, the room turns over fairly well, so a table should open up in time for you to receive your food. Outside seating is available surrounding and behind the restaurant, if you're interested. A random note, the owners are disc golf fans. From time to time, usually a couple of times a day, they will go in the parking lot and let their diners attempt to make a "putt". A "putt" is when you throw a disc toward a chain hole constructed across the lot. If any diner makes the putt, he or she will receive a discounted or free meal. read more

The food inside is amazing, the burgers will make your tastebuds salivate and the portion sizes are very substantial. Coming here for a disc golf tournament made the experiment even wonderful knowing that you can take a shot at a 60ft putt at the basket outside to have your meal get paid for! With the Kansas wind, that's no easy task. :) I will say that when considering your hunger, the half-portions are fairly small so go full size portions for the philly cheesesteaks. read more

Heard this was THE place in town for burgers and I have to say it is probably not the place in town for veggie burgers at least not for me. I will say that I am very picky about the texture of my veggie burgers and this burger was a little too mushy for my personal preference. They do pick up in the evenings so if you're planning on eating here you might want to try to get here earlier in the afternoon. I like the addition of the fresh juicy mushrooms and the crunch of the jalapeño's. The bacon makes the sandwich pretty salty so if you're watching your salt intake, ask for no bacon.
