**WARNING - 'HAPPY ENDINGS' are offered at this establishment. I visited Goldfinger Massage and wanted to share my experience. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find that payment was required upfront, CASH ONLY, no exceptions. Communication was challenging as none of the staff I encountered spoke English except for basic words like 'money' and 'lie down.' Furthermore, I was disheartened when my massage ended abruptly, 15 minutes earlier than agreed upon. Additionally, I was dismayed by the inappropriate solicitation for extra payment and a larger tip when DECLINING a 'happy ending.' Yes, it was very clear that a 'happy ending' was indeed what really happens at this location. I was SHOCKED! It's regrettable that Goldfinger Massage operates in such a manner, tarnishing the reputation of legitimate businesses in the industry. Shady place! Their schtick seems to be advertising a 1 hour massage for a reasonable $50. But once they've got your money (and they make you pay upfront - very unusual!), they inform you that because they are so "busy" they need to change you to a 30 minute massage. The price? $40. I guess they figure it's more lucrative to do two 30 minute sessions and pocket an extra $30/hr. The massage itself was fine, but more like 20 or even 15 minutes after they've finished going back and forth. Oh, and expect multiple interruptions as they all seem to share duty greeting customers that walk in. Then they try and ask for a big tip! I get the feeling that maybe they are selling more than just massages here and maybe they are trying to get the ones who want an actual massage in and out quickly. I won't be coming back! read more

I can't believe this lady who massaged me . I got a 30 min back only massage for $40 ... it was ok ... but after is what really upset me . I handed her a $20 and asked for $10 back ... and she said " you want change " everyone tips $20 " I'm sorry honey tip is $20 " Wtf are you kidding me ... I looked at her in shock ! I came in for a $35/hr foot massage as it is advertised on the outside of the building, and they let me know inside that there was no foot massage available, just body massage. I said yes to the 30 minute body massage. They rung me for $42.something, and when I had written in a two-dollar tip they told me the tip was ten dollars. I said that they hadn't informed me of this before ringing the card so could I please just cancel the purchase. They insisted it was okay. I then was given about 15 minutes (certainly not longer than 20) mediocre massage. They told me it was over and I could get dressed. I said I thought it was 30 minutes and they went to check on the time. They came back saying I had three or four minutes left and they would do - get this - foot massage for the rest of the time. Not satisfied with the massage or the customer service. If you're looking for a quality experience, I would go elsewhere! read more

The massage wasn't bad, but the service was. I went here because it's incredibly close to my place - like 500 feet or something - and because Sawdee was booked up. When I arrived and asked whether they do Swedish massage, the woman at the desk said it was the same as their aroma oil one, which I picked. Then she ushered me into a room in the back, but not before first accidentally opening the door to another room where two bored employees, one of whom was lying on the massage bed, were glued to their cell phones. Made me wonder just how clean my bed was going to be. Don't they have a break room? Like the first reviewer noted, once in the room she asked me to pay first, which... what? It's not like a nail salon where you physically can't pay afterwards without risking those nails you just paid for. And even nail salons wait until after the massage part. Also, if we're expected to pay in advance, why wait till I get in the room to ask for a payment? It just feels shady when you're not paying at a desk, especially when they have a perfectly good one there in the clean, brightly-lit lobby. It also makes tipping dicey, because I usually don't have cash and tip on my card, but what would they do - run the card twice? I won't tip before actually receiving the service - that's ridiculous and unfair to the best masseuses, who always end up prying extra $$ from me when I pay while basking in the glow of their hard work. The massage itself was fine. She didn't do things exactly the way I'm used to, but that's par for the course when trying out a new place. My only real complaint was that the towel they used as a privacy cover was tiny, and I kept having to re adjust it myself to feel like I wasn't just laying there naked on a table. Overall, after the massage I was content, and ready to go to the front desk and tip in cash. However. Seconds after I re-dressed, my masseuse knocked and quickly walked in with new linens and promptly started stripping the bed. I felt really uncomfortable, like they were trying to rush me out, which was nonsense because at least half of those rooms were empty. I quickly grabbed a mini water and my shoes and prepared to go out to the desk to tip, but when I opened the door to leave, my masseuse screeched "Tip??!?," with a super annoyed face. That was the feather on the camelback of my experience. I asked if she had change for a twenty, and she asked, "Two tens?", like the foregone conclusion was that she would get one. I had the feeling she wouldn't take no for an answer and just wanted to leave at that point, so I nodded. Her loss, because I usually tip higher. I still might have, if she hadn't come back having already pocketed a ten. Good heavens. So, yeah, I won't be back, even though it is hands down the most convenient place for me location-wise. This is a nice place in west LA to get a fair priced massage. Curious when they will be done renovating their location and when we are able to go to massage parlors again. If you can update your page to show as closed, and then open when you're open that would be awesome! read more

I'll add my name to the chorus of perplexed customers in these reviews. I had some time to kill doing errands and decided to come in here, was contemplating the massage menu when the lady ushered me into a room for a 30 min full body massage - I'm not even sure where they do the foot massage offered for $25, or why she was so sure I didn't want an hour... but it seems 30 min for a slightly overpriced $40 is better then giving 60 for ten dollars more. Less work? She also, as other customers have mentioned, asked for payment up front. Never had this happen before. She also barely covered me with a towel and left the door open to the hallway (I think we were the only ones there?) Afterwards, she also came into the room as I was getting dressed to clean up - what? I forked over $8 for the $40 as I exited the room - she counted the tip in front of me and then asked for more as she had given me the 'deep tissue' for free. Beside myself at this point. This place reeks of shadiness - I see the owner apologizing to yelp reviewers for these same complaints below but also seems this odd behavior is still happening. There are TONS of other legit massage places in the area that don't ask for tips, don't ask you to pay beforehand, and treat their customers with respect. Terrible service! I went in and they charged me for an hour of deep tissue massage in advance which is ok. I paid them $60 and went into my room. As I was waiting undressed for my therapist on the table, 10 min later the receptionist came in Saying they can't do 1 hour only 30 min and she gave me $10 back. So the difference between the 30 min and 60 min is only $10. I realize this place is just a hand job factory not a serious massage place, so they are not interested in giving massages when they can make a lot more in 20 min giving hand jobs. Unless you're sexually frustrated avoid this place at all cost. read more

Yikes! I don't think this place is legit. I am came in asking for 60 minute massage and there was a lot of speaking in frantic foreign language for 10 minutes. I kept pointing to the board to clarify service requested. I noticed two large handmade posted signs stating "no sexual"activity. After 10 minutes older guy comes in and they send him to one of the back rooms a "regular" client I guess. Then the lady says to me in broken English " you come back later". No thanks. read more

By far the WORSE massage I have ever received. It was supposed to be a 60 minute massage. The lady stops after 45 minutes and I tell her it is not over. She says your husband is waiting. RUN AWAY. Don't hesitate. Just don't bother with this place. First of all it's not a legit massage place, they are very shady and only like & want "men clients." They only have private rooms!!! They are so unprofessional and have 0 clue how to run their business or give a real massage. The lady who greeted me asked me to pay right away before she put me in a room. I was shocked. I asked why but couldn't get an answer since all she knew in English was "Pay First". Sooo with force I ended up paying. Than she has the audacity to ask me to add tip on my receipt. She was circling around this tiny room for over 5 minutes until she finally told me to lay down face down. I have never felt so impatience and been caught in a place that I wanted to run the hell out. She started in my massage which all she did was pat my body so right away I told her "hard" and moved my hand in a massage stroke and she was like "oh oh" "aha aha" but went back patting and poking me. she than left the room for a good 3-4 mins talking loud with her co worker and returned with the same behavior. After some poking and patting I finally turned on my back and started playing with my phone the torture was over. That's why everyone needs to stay away. They have no idea how to massage.
