I get massages all across town and this was perhaps my least favorite, and on the pricey side. If you're new, they make you pay up front, which is ridiculous on its face. My therapist was a young guy who was trying hard, but didn't seem too experienced. I verbalized to him several times what I did and didn't want and he just seemed to give a nervous laugh. I also indicated in the initial assessment paper that I have a shoulder injury, but apparently he hasn't even looked at it and went straight for pulling my shoulder. So what was the point of my filling out the body assessment sheet? Overall, I firmly disliked the massage technique. I specifically paid extra for deep tissues, but he only focused on trigger points which was more aggravating than anything else. After a while, I gave up giving him instructions when I saw that he was unable to give me what I wanted. I was so happy when the massage ended finally. I came outside and told the man at the front desk about my experience. He simply stared at me and said "ok" and then proceeded to ask me how much I wanted to leave for a tip. Horrible business practice. So no, won't be going back. There are tons of other places across town that are 20 to 30% less expensive and will give you a far more enjoyable experience. read more

I've been a regular client at Buddha Thai Massage, coming in twice a week and referring many clients from my own business because I truly loved the service especially with Fah, who is amazing. I usually come in with very tight shoulders and legs, and I always communicate that clearly. During this visit, I was assigned to a new therapist without being informed. Right away, before even properly starting, she suggested I upgrade to a 1.5-hour massage before I could even experience her work. I decided to continue with the one-hour session, but it turned out to be the worst massage I've had. She spent almost the entire time just walking on my back, using excessive oil, and barely working on my shoulders, legs, arms, or feet. I kept wondering if she was going to actually give a full-body massage, but it never happened. I also want to be very clear--I did NOT request walking on my back on the intake form, and it made me uncomfortable and worried it could harm my back. Because the massage was not good, I ended up stopping the session before the full hour. When I asked about it, she became defensive and admitted she didn't really know what she was doing, which made the experience even more disappointing. As a loyal client, I always tip generously$ 30-$40 on an $80 one-hour massage and I've referred many people here. It's really disappointing when that kind of loyalty and generosity is not valued or taken care of. I still paid $60, but the service did not meet even basic expectations. Good value pricing for the area and overall just very good massage work. Note: This place is for good massages, not fancy ambiance or like "relaxation work" in my opinion. The exterior looks like it's attached to a typical plaza, but once you walk in it's a different feeling. The ambiance and customer service sets you at ease, EXCEPT the wind chime on the door! That's how clean they keep their studio. First time, second time, third time I got Patt as my masseuse. She's amazing and listens to my body and the chart you mark on so they can concentrate those areas. She hit spot on on my back and made me feel like a brand new person, however she keeps telling me that I'm tight. Not sure what I can do about that, but I depend on her skillful techniques. Unlike other massage studios, this one is actually QUIET!! No chit chatting with others or anything, just a simple checking up on you to make sure it's not too strong. I've went for 60 mins and 90 mins. It's just never enough! I'm going to try to make a monthly tradition. If you check-in on Yelp, you'll get additional hot stone while you're there and if you come between 10am-2pm, you'll get $5 off! (and it's quieter) There are street parking, but for an hour only. I decided to come here for a birthday massage after reading the positive reviews. But as I type this, I am still feeling bad stomach cramps from the extreme pressure that was applied to my lower abdominals. When she stood on the back of my thighs, I felt a painful crushing sensation since there had been no warm up before this. From the beginning, this massage felt confusing and misguided. I almost called it off but hoped it might improve. Throughout, the movements were very rough and fast. It was not relaxing at all and to add to it, the sounds of other visitors easily carried throughout the open space. There was apparently a dog in the hallway at one point because he was whining and bumping into things, which was super distracting. At one point, my chin began to ache as if it were pressing against some strange seam in the pillow. When my masseuse left to get the hot stones, I lifted my head to readjust and saw I had been laying on a travel pillow - the pain on my chin was the clasp that holds the pillow on your neck. I was shocked. I felt myself counting down until it was over. After having my ribs brutalized with the elbow, I stood up and dressed before coming out. Not once was I asked if it was good or how I liked it. Maybe that doesn't matter here. I hate to leave such a negative review on someone who spent an hour on me, but this was just the most uncomfortable and honestly painful experience. read more
