The facilities are nice, the staff is mostly great. My biggest feedback revolves the class sizes. On the few days my son was 1 of 2 kids, that worked really well. Most lessons however he was one of three or four kids, in which he received a very little instructional time and spent most of it watching others swim and sitting at the edge. When it comes to the world of swimming classes, we've tried most available options. The public school swim classes were often overcrowded with a couple of teachers per 20 kids. I honestly wasn't a fan due to the fact that my child didn't have the personalized attention that he needed to improve his fundamentals. The plus side to these types of classes was the cost. Honestly, you get what you pay for. At Goldfish, my son has received that individualized attention. He has really come into his own in the pool. Each one of his instructors throughout his journey at Goldfish Swim School have paid close attention to his technique and have worked with him to improve. He always receives positive reinforcement for his efforts. I really enjoy the atmosphere that his instructors provide. All in all, I'm a fan of the personnel all around. The folks behind the counter are always there to lend a hand. The instructors have all been very professional and friendly. The establishment is always very clean and organized. I really wish this location wasn't so dirty because the instructors are wonderful..but the facility has reached a level of unsanitary. From dried vomit in the changing rooms to filthy bathroom conditions, we stopped taking our kids here because it has gotten so bad. I wish the founders would make a surprise visit and see that the place hasn't been cleaned in months. Again, the instructors were wonderful so this is a shame. I took the photos of one of the changing rooms on our last day and the dirt you see has been there in the same exact place for months. Try changing kids out of wet suits while keeping them from touching everything in there. read more

This place is excellent for any young child. They learn to swim quickly in the 1/2 hour classes. We have our kids going every week. This helps build their confidence and promotes quicker learning. All the teachers are all very nice and work closely with the child. They have separate graders walking around so the teacher does not take away any teaching time for grading. The kids even get their own community shower, changing rooms and hair blowers under the tiki tents. Then they get a prize or kids tattoo when they leave. This is set I for fun and quick growth. We will continue to come here. read more

Love this place. I came here as a kid and remember the pool being warm and the nice instructors. I also really liked the snacks they had as well as the goggles that had scents to them. This really made it a golden experience for me. read more

Not only do they have a very nice facility, but their methodology for teaching children is superb - and after all that is really what matters most. My daughter had taken several lessons at our gym and was doing Ok aside from some incorrect techniques that were hindering her a bit. After a couple lessons here the change was dramatic. She was much more confident, and had relearned several strokes the correct way - which made a big difference for her. Can definately recommend this location and their staff. read more

We have been going to Goldfish for the past 2 years and they have been nothing less than AMAZING. From their excellent staff to the ease of scheduling classes I wish they had Goldfish on the West Coast. Goldfish Swim School exemplifies the meaning of great staff, each one is friendly and always willing to help. My daughter had a bloody nose, and I went to help but 3 staff members were already attending to her and sat and talked with her through it. Also, I highly recommend Lexi as an instructor as my daughter loved her and would be smiling the whole 30 mins of class. I would recommend to all my friends and family :) read more

We have been taking our kids to this school since they opened. Both kids look forward to lessons and our youngest is developing skills that make her a safe swimming, which was our goal. Our oldest is developmentally delayed and the one on one class have been fantastic for her. She loves her instructors (who are wonderful). Highly recommend for any parent wanting their kid to learn swim safety or the basics of sport swimming. read more

My 5 yo child has been taking swim lessons at the Rochester location since the school opened in March. I cannot say enough good things about the school! We had tried other swim lessons through the community and local schools and I just wasn't impressed. The classes here are only 30 mins, but are limited to 4 kids max. At first I was worried that they were too short compared to community lessons which last 45 mins, but that is not the case. Most of the time spent in those 45 minute class was waiting their turn at the side of the pool. The other great thing about Goldfish is that it is not session based, meaning the child is not stuck in a class that he or she has mastered while waiting for an 8 week session to end. My cynical side would have thought they would keep the child in the lower class longer since you are paying by the month and the longer a kid stays in a level the more money they would make, but that is definitely not the case. As soon as my child hits all of the goals in a level, they have been immediately moved up to the next class starting the next week. We also did a birthday party there. They did a great job running it and and the kids all had a great time! read more

These guys really know how to teach kids how to swim. He's progressed from hardly swimming at all to swimming like a fish. And he's only 5 years old. I highly recommend them no matter what your child's ability. read more

Clean facilty, great teachers. They are professional and organised. The decor is so kid friendly. Progress in slow but there are usually 4 in each group class so one child gets about 10 mins each class. Highly recommend. read more

We had a party at the Rochester location. The staff absolutely made our day so hassle free! There were 2 lifeguards who were awesome with the kids in the water. An additional staff member helped set up and even helped us load the car! The facilities are bright and clean. All the kids had a ball. Superb! read more

Our daughter has been attending swim class for over a year now. She has had so much success. The teachers are amazing, the deck staff is extremely helpful and the desk staff is always there to answer questions. I have NEVER been disappointed. My daughter doesn't always listen (she is 3) and they always find a way to work with her. Our daughter has learned so much. I am very grateful that we found goldfish!! read more

My son had a huge fear of water and being away from mom. Although he is only willing to swim with a male teacher, the staff has been more than understanding and accommodating. When his teacher was on vacation, they found a different male to teach my son. I was amazed at how compassionate and wonderful they are! And, my daughter was nervous in the water and within 7 weeks was swimming on her own! I've already sent my sister in law to Goldfish and will continue to refer people every chance I get! read more

My 5 year old started a year ago and was not a fan of swimming before he started. Now that he's been in classes for a while, advancing through the levels gives him confidence and he's like a new kid, a complete transformation has taken place in him. We are extremely impressed with Goldfish and would highly recommend their lessons. We had originally taken our son to classes offered at a nearby city, and while they were a lot cheaper, he simply didn't get anything out of them and was visibly frustrated. Yes, Goldfish is priced much higher, but I have to say that it is worth each and every penny. Goldfish teaches our kids skills, confidence, and a respect for the water that they'll have for the rest of their lives. The teachers are great and work very hard to teach the kids and to make sure to bring out their full potential. The rest of the staff is great as well. As a recent example, we had obtained some lessons via a charity auction and had some questions as to how it related to our account. Lois was extremely accommodating to make sure that we fully understood every detail. It's just one example of how they go above and beyond.
