The staff was very nice and there were plenty of lifeguards keeping close watch. The outdoor pool area consisted of - Large pool section that went from 3+ feet to 5 feet - 13 foot area with a diving board - Lazy river - 2 water slides About 40% of the area where you can sit is shaded (either trees or a canopy). I can tell that people came early to snag those spots. It's a very nice and well maintained facility. One thing to be aware of is that there is no re-entry. So make sure you bring everything from the car you need the first time. There is plenty of parking. Overall we had a great time and next time we will go closer to the time they open to get a shady spot.

The pool area is pretty big, so you can have space to yourself even with classes and trainings going on. A forgettable Y, old and run down and needs a major facelift. Definitely one of the less enjoyable YMCAs I've used and despite how old and run-down it is, it's also busy so you will have to wait for certain things on certain days at certain times more than you would in the average YMCA location. And some of the other members are not so friendly. A good parking lot though, and nobody bothers you in it if you're hanging out in it for awhile.

But, they have a complete fitness gym, pilates and yoga studios, aerobics classes, spin classes, aquatic classes, personal trainers, and more. Our yoga community is very supportive, so I am always encouraged to go to class even when it's cold out or raining, etc. I am a "senior" & so there is something there for people of all ages. We have a 85-year old who regularly comes to yoga with the rest of us. But, the kids can play basketball or tennis, work-out in the gym, or swim in the pool.

The front desk staff can be hit or miss--sometimes they're helpful, other times unresponsive. It's probably the most affordable gym in the area, but also likely the worst LA Fitness within a 20-mile radius. I've been to four others nearby, and this one falls short in comparison.

When I was with the sales representative, I asked if they needed my ID. He didn't answer. Later, he mentioned I had to take a picture for the pass. I asked him "why" and he didn't answer. He just pointed the camera towards me and took the pic despite me really giving any type of consent and still no explanation as to why (which I'm sure is for legal purposes of course. Still weird how he literally said nothing despite him being a "representative"). I know it's a gym and all, but isn't customer service kind of what brings more memberships here besides the equipment here itself? Why would someone want to feel inclined in returning to a place if no questions are answered and staff don't seem to enjoy themselves here or the members/potential new members? I was also lied here from the front desk guy when I asked who was the manager, and he told me this one guy at his desk. When I went over to the manager, I was informed, he was indeed not a manager. I ended up leaving. Why did I get a call and a voicemail from a "Kyle" and when I called back, I was told "Kyle no longer works here". The small class size was great, Dee was amazing, and met each one of us on our individual levels and gave each student one on one attention. She knew what needed improvement and showed us exactly how to do it better. In the short amount of time that I was there, I learned more than I expected to and I'm looking forward to going back next week! And I drove 45 minutes from DC and it was totally worth the drive! The location was good, parking is easy, the pool and showers clean, and I highly recommend them for swim classes. They were also super flexible and since I joined when the classes had already started, they invited me to come in for the make up class and that was great to catch me up to speed with the regular classes which I really appreciated so I won't miss any lessons despite starting a couple classes late. They're located in the LA Fitness but the swim class had the pool to ourselves for the duration of class so that was neat.
