I initially contacted Goldkamp to inquire about a AC replacement. My experience from that call to end of service was exceptional! I had to have 2 different techs come out because the 1st guy was just for a quote to replace the unit, but he advised my problem could be resolved with a simple repair. Each person I engaged with was extremely nice and helpful--Terry and my other guy's name I can't remember. They went above and beyond what I could have expected. My total cost was between $200 and $250 for service call fee + 30 mins of work. All they did was adjust my wires and ran codes on the unit to make sure I did not need freon. Oh, he also gave me a new filter and patched up a whole I had. It seemed a tad bit pricey for the average consumer, but I did not mind paying because I believe in quality over quantity. Revised review, May 29, 2025 Sadly, i have to amend my raving review of a group that i truly had believed in. The recent repair ended very badly. The initial repair left a cut electrical wire next to a gas furnace... a very Critical mistake, that took a ton of begging to get anyone to try to fix..which included living, dismissive claims that it wasn't bad, wasn't repairable, would require a few days to repair,...leaving my neighbors and I with a potential explosion that could be bad...Finally the father came with a wire in a few hours (that supposedly would take days to special order) and while he did replace the dangerous one that they cut, he admitted that the $1000 repair i paid for, seemed to have done nothing. I said, yes, it sounds and acts exactly the same. His behavior was odd, refusing to understand that I was justifiable upset by all the danger I was left in, the excuses and lied to not have to make it safe, then the admission that I gave them a large amount of money that did nothing...and he kept saying he'd fix it. Sounds responsible... but after so much h dangerous unprofessional behavior, the last thing I was up for was trusting any of them to do anything more than prevent the explosion they were perfectly fine leaving me with... So I said, no thankyou... At which time, and I learned to record anytime I had a service person at my house when I was alone, so its taped..he refused to listen and set about taking things apart as I asdetuoveky asked him to please stop. He kept demanding he was going to fix it.....it was late, it'd been a very scary, long day, begging them with many phone calls to just undo the danger with a wire replacement. It was very uncomfortable as I had to ask him to leave and usher him upstairs and out of my home. I will never hire them again based on this horrible incident (s)... And I am still waiting to be reimbursed for the $1000 that I paid them. The furnace died after I paid them to fix what they said it needed, and the sound of loud friction was even obvious to Mr Goldkamp, who wanted to fix it... I had to find a repairman who showed up quickly and showed me that they hadn't really done anything needed, and went about fixing the fan blade that was rubbing against something internally. It took him a short time. I didnt need a new anything... just a piece of metal bent a bit...There was no live wire left by him after he left, next to a combustible motor full of gas, he didnt lie to me, tell me it probably wont explode!, no danger, he didnt take a lot of money, and he restored my heat easily on a below freezing day with no appointment, He did it with integrity and encouraged me to be careful with companies that would ever behave that way... Goldkamp had also given me four separate completely conflicting diagnoses of what was wrong, and the health of my heat and a/c. If I'd believed them, I'd have replaced a fairly new and perfectly good a/c unit ... The younger Goldkamp gave me two different assessments that contradicted each other, no explanation why,... his father, a new one, and the man they sent out to do the repair told me his opinion of all that my furnace and a/c were doing..all of their reports were 180°different from each other. So, after they refund my debit card, for the $1000 they took to terrorize me, cause an explosion hazard, and leave me worse off, I plan on sticking with the young man who earned my trust and fixed their damage. I wish the below review was still how I viewed this company. ( original review below) In a world where increasingly more people have an angle, and let you down, or mistreat you, Goldkamp has always been a breath of fresh air. Ryan made it thru ice and snow immediately, as they had a couple years ago (in another emergency),..he was kind, patient with all my concerns, and hardworking. Cori was great on the scheduling, and communication, and John just left after making the final repairs, also very respectful, efficient, and friendly. Friendly, helpful & professional employees from sales personel, to installers, an office workers. I had a Trane furnace, A/C, & Aprilaire humidifier installed. Employees came on time, worked hard and cleaned up afterwards. There was a small challenge with the chimney liner which was overcome on an extra visit and a gift of cookies. Goldkamp was 1 of 3 prices I received. Initially their number seemed high but they included several items (new return drop, new refrigerant lines, new pad) that their competition didn't. After researching I agreed Goldkamp quote was what I needed and was competitive with the best warranty. On startup the furnace was too loud. Turns out it was a new model and Trane documentation was poor. While it took a couple visits by Goldkamp to get the unit running correctly I couldn't be more pleased. Matt Goldkamp came out personally and made sure the system was operating at the optimum point for my house and I was satisfied that I got a great installation. "IT'S HOT!!! IT'S HOT!!! IT'S HOT!!!" That's what I was yelling when I came home to a failing AC system during a St. Louis heat wave in July. Hot was an understatement. It was like I was living in a broiler. I had a 20 year old Trane system, R22 refrigerant and propane heat. It it's heyday it was a heck of a system, but it's day had passed. I was put in contact with Goldkamp through Home Adviser. They came out quickly, which was great since it was over 90 degrees in my house. I decided to go with a total replacement AC and furnace. I was quoted a very reasonable price for a 16 Seer highly efficient unit. They had 0% APR financing if you qualify. Even better! The install was seamless. It took only 5 hours to go from start to finish. That's with new lines, new WIFI thermostat, new AC and heat, new housing and more! They made short work of my long time problems. The house has been 72 degrees since then, and the power consumption has been lower than I even imagined. I would highly recommend Goldkamp to anyone in the Greater St. Louis Area, they were honest, affordable and professional. Just got my whole HVAC System cleaned out. Man was it's filthy. Just got a home and was looking for a company I could go with; many wouldn't return my calls but I ended up finding GoldKamps company log in the basement. Sent them a message on yelp and they got right back to me. Set up a appointment and Jamie came out to do the service. Not only am I satisfied with the cleaning I'm satisfied with having a good person come over and show me the ins and out. Jamie was super personable and knowledgeable. We talked some before he got into the service and shared some good laughs and times. He explained to me what he would be doing and even showed me what it looked like inside. It hadn't been done since 2015 which I bet would change the price for most company's but they quoted me a reasonable price and stuck with it. He showed me exactly how dirty it was and I mean it was wrapped around bundle after bundle of animal hair and other things. The filter was fiiiiiilthy. He also cleaned up around the area he worked on, hooked me up with a clamp to help my AC drain flow to the drain smoothly without it spraying out water or flooding my whole basement. Gave me some recommendations as far as filters and some tips on fixing a few other things around the house that I greatly appreciated. He went waaaaaay above and beyond the call of duty to ensure I was happy with the service he provided. All in all I will for sure recommend this company. When I told him I didn't have cash he just told me to call in and make the payment but wasn't pushy; he kind of just said it in a get to it when you can kinda way which actually got me right on the phone. Even as he was leaving I was trying to show him the receipt he was like no worries. And the lady I spoke with was very easy going and took my payment over the phone and got me a receipt fast. If your in the STL makes no sense to go with any other company in my honest opinion. They get the job done fast, efficiently and affectively, thanks Jamie. Not only did they give us the best estimate after sending a few photos but this is during all of the covide 19 stuff so we started with photos and then I asked if someone would come out to my house to look at everything. When he came to look at it and I said I was hoping to sell the house soon he gave me an honest opinion of sticking with my old ac/furnace until the new owners ask for it. In May of 2020 I was shopping for a completely new heating & AC system. I had already researched the manufacturer I wanted & needed to find a company that carried the brand. I found out Goldkamp did & contacted them & ended up working with the most professional & courteous man, Kevin Kelly. He immediately sent the proposal for the job to my email within minutes. I wanted a Goodman system that had high ratings & is made in Texas ( yes, made in the US!). The job was scheduled quickly & they assured us they would follow all COVID protocols, which they did. When the St. Louis County inspector came after the installation, he said it was one of the best installations he'd seen. Goldkamp was recommended by 2 different co-workers. Josh Goldkamp came out and spoke with me regarding my needs and my preferred budget. I don't often write reviews, but when the service warrants it I feel obligated to let people know. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of heating and cooling service. We noticed on Sunday that our air was no longer blowing cool from the vents. Knowing our furnace blower was getting very old we prepared ourselves for the big bill we knew would follow a service visit, not to mention the potential multiple sweaty nights before it could be fixed. OK, you be the judge! Returned from vacation on an extremely hot and humid Saturday evening, to find the A/C was out.
