I had to have 2 different techs come out because the 1st guy was just for a quote to replace the unit, but he advised my problem could be resolved with a simple repair. Each person I engaged with was extremely nice and helpful--Terry and my other guy's name I can't remember. They went above and beyond what I could have expected. My total cost was between $200 and $250 for service call fee + 30 mins of work. All they did was adjust my wires and ran codes on the unit to make sure I did not need freon. Oh, he also gave me a new filter and patched up a whole I had. It seemed a tad bit pricey for the average consumer, but I did not mind paying because I believe in quality over quantity. Also, I liked they did not charge me an extra fee to pay with card.

The initial repair left a cut electrical wire next to a gas furnace... a very Critical mistake, that took a ton of begging to get anyone to try to fix..which included living, dismissive claims that it wasn't bad, wasn't repairable, would require a few days to repair,...leaving my neighbors and I with a potential explosion that could be bad...Finally the father came with a wire in a few hours (that supposedly would take days to special order) and while he did replace the dangerous one that they cut, he admitted that the $1000 repair i paid for, seemed to have done nothing. I said, yes, it sounds and acts exactly the same. His behavior was odd, refusing to understand that I was justifiable upset by all the danger I was left in, the excuses and lied to not have to make it safe, then the admission that I gave them a large amount of money that did nothing...and he kept saying he'd fix it. Sounds responsible... but after so much h dangerous unprofessional behavior, the last thing I was up for was trusting any of them to do anything more than prevent the explosion they were perfectly fine leaving me with... So I said, no thankyou... At which time, and I learned to record anytime I had a service person at my house when I was alone, so its taped..he refused to listen and set about taking things apart as I asdetuoveky asked him to please stop. He kept demanding he was going to fix it.....it was late, it'd been a very scary, long day, begging them with many phone calls to just undo the danger with a wire replacement. It was very uncomfortable as I had to ask him to leave and usher him upstairs and out of my home. I will never hire them again based on this horrible incident (s)... And I am still waiting to be reimbursed for the $1000 that I paid them. The furnace died after I paid them to fix what they said it needed, and the sound of loud friction was even obvious to Mr Goldkamp, who wanted to fix it... I had to find a repairman who showed up quickly and showed me that they hadn't really done anything needed, and went about fixing the fan blade that was rubbing against something internally. It took him a short time. I didnt need a new anything... just a piece of metal bent a bit...There was no live wire left by him after he left, next to a combustible motor full of gas, he didnt lie to me, tell me it probably wont explode!, no danger, he didnt take a lot of money, and he restored my heat easily on a below freezing day with no appointment, He did it with integrity and encouraged me to be careful with companies that would ever behave that way... Goldkamp had also given me four separate completely conflicting diagnoses of what was wrong, and the health of my heat and a/c. If I'd believed them, I'd have replaced a fairly new and perfectly good a/c unit ... The younger Goldkamp gave me two different assessments that contradicted each other, no explanation why,... his father, a new one, and the man they sent out to do the repair told me his opinion of all that my furnace and a/c were doing..all of their reports were 180°different from each other. So, after they refund my debit card, for the $1000 they took to terrorize me, cause an explosion hazard, and leave me worse off, I plan on sticking with the young man who earned my trust and fixed their damage. I wish the below review was still how I viewed this company. ( original review below) In a world where increasingly more people have an angle, and let you down, or mistreat you, Goldkamp has always been a breath of fresh air. Ryan made it thru ice and snow immediately, as they had a couple years ago (in another emergency),..he was kind, patient with all my concerns, and hardworking. Cori was great on the scheduling, and communication, and John just left after making the final repairs, also very respectful, efficient, and friendly. We have used Classic Aire for almost nine years and have had service calls and twice-yearly checks…read moreover the years. A new HVAC system was installed in our home in late March this year and everything was done professionally and neatly with no messes left for us to clean up. The system worked great until the incredibly damp and cool spring when the AC was having real trouble dealing with the humidity in the house. But Faszold--and its mother ship, Classic Aire Care--kept sending out a couple of stellar technicians to check and adjust the system until they got it right. And this was warranty work--we did not pay for anything as they tweaked settings and made the system work in our home. Anthony and Steve are true problem solvers as they continued to address individual parts like the thermostat and fans and they finally got it all worked out so that the system is able to keep our house below 50% humidity. It was a frustrating time but the company has been responsive and supportive. Mike Faszold was also amazing and continually answered my calls and texts during both pre-sale and after install time. This company stands behind its installs and comes through on its promise of good customer service. Check around but believe what they tell you.

I appreciated the honesty! He had to leave to get a new circuit breaker and came right back to replace it. I'm happy with the service - prompt and courteous - but I am not thrilled with the high cost. The service call was $89 and a new circuit breaker should cost only $20-$30. I was charged $331.50 total, which I've been told by neighbors is very, very high for such a simple fix...Oh well. At least my furnace turns on now.

During the hottest temps so far this year (multiple days of heat index of 100 degrees), I noticed…read moremy AC was running but my indoor temperature was not dropping. Called Energy Stars to come take a look at it (we had purchased the unit from them 5 years earlier), and they said 'because of the high temperatures and multiple people calling in with problems, it would take a couple of days before a technician could show up. Two days later, Eric from Energy Stars arrived to check out my outside AC condenser. As soon as he started to diagnose the problem outside, a rainstorm moved in and it rained the entire time he was outside working on my problem. He explained the issue was a faulty 'high pressure switch' in the condenser. Since he didn't have one in the truck, he 'temporarily fixed' the issue until they could order the switch and get someone back out to swap it out. Long story short, the temp in my house has gone from high 80's back down to mid 70's. Energy Stars called back later that afternoon to confirm they had ordered the switch and set up an appointment to return to install it. The part was covered under warranty (a 10-year warranty), though we will have to pay labor charges. Thanks to Eric who was knowledgeable, polite, and quick to fix the issue.

He was very polite and respectful while in my home, even wearing protective shoe covers. He arrived at 8:00am as scheduled and spent 2 hours completing a "Home Diagnostic Inspection" which included examining all my hot water heaters and ALL plumbing fixtures throughout my home which I was not expecting. He then presented me with a service plan at $60 per month for a maintenance plan which gave me a discount on future services (10%) and a 50% discount on the service call fee of $119.00. He also gave me a bid on replacement cost for several faucets which I felt was a little bit higher than I was willing to pay. He said I could buy my own parts but the installation charge would be higher. I told him "Thank you but no thank you". He gave me a bid for the removal and installation of the 'Insinkerator' instant hot water dispenser that I had already purchased. The bid was extremely higher than I ever expected! But, the technician was here and I wanted it done, however I only elected to have ONE faucet replaced which made the price go up! Long story short, I was charged $815.36 for the installation which took One Hour and Fifteen minutes (I provided the part). In addition to this, I was charged $119.00 for the service call fee! I paid a total of $934.36 and 2/3 of the time he was here was spent on trying to sell me a service plan for my plumbing, H-Vac system as well as my electrical needs for $60 A MONTH! Then, you get a whopping 10% discount on the service call fee! I calculated that this service call was $12.47 per minute! I contacted the company customer service representative to talk about what I thought was an extremely high charge and all she could offer was that they have to pay for gas, tools and expenses! She also reminded me that I signed and agreed to the bid (she told me this 5 times). I told her I DID agree that that was their bid and I paid it! I did not agree that it was a fair price but I did not want to confront the young technician. I called HER to discuss the issue, to see if she thought that $934.36 for 1 hour and 15 minutes labor was fair. She did! Call this company if you have money to burn but you will get your work done politely.

When he showed up, we found a puddle of water under the furnace and over part of the basement. It was because one of the drains was partially clogged. He opened up the furnace, cleaned it out and drained the backed up water. He then completed the service and maintenance on the unit without any problems. There was no charge for his visit, as it was part of the yearly maintenance agreement. I was originally hesitant to purchase the maintenance agreement but after this visit I felt good that I had it.
