I love this gym and have never had any issue until today. my husband brought my sister as his guest (as im heavily pregnant and can not go) but we've done many times... suddenly the power hungry lady at the front desk (who we've never even seen before...) needed to see an ID??? And now because she wasn't "local" was trying to charge $15... she's in town because I'm pregnant but we're technically not "local" either I have a Florida ID even though we live across the street...They just decided to leave and came back across the street to our home gym. This gym is awesome! I honestly don't know why there are bad reviews... It's spotless, big, bright, lots of space to work out... Beautiful clean bathrooms, and nice sauna. The staff is great too. I just dropped in for a trial workout... Which is free by the way for your first one, not all gyms do that. Anyway... Seriously the nicest golds gym in the Austin area. They have everything you could want. Saw another reviewer complaining about nowhere for weighted dips. Not sure if they're blind or not but there have been two dip/chin up set ups I use for weighted dips since the day this gym opened. For all the people complaining about tier two or level two golds gym membership pricing. It's like an extra $7 a month so if you live out by belterra or dripping springs it's worth it for proximity at a minimum. Other than that it has tons of free weight and some incredible hoist machines I'd never had the pleasure of using before. Loads of cardio equipment, a nice hot tub and sauna set up. Overall a really clean and nice golds gym. My only negative is there is an older gentleman who works the front desk on weekends and he is a jerk/rude. My wife and i are on the same account and he makes us scan my badge twice every time he is there when we go in which is the only holds that happens at and not even sure of the purpose. Also i have 5 guest passes a month to use for friends and family and he tries to argue and asks me to have them pay $15 per workout. I'd be happy if the let him go. I wish I could select ZERO stars. Biggest scam I've ever experienced in my life. I went in there because their website says you can cancel any time. That's a lie. I signed up to use their gym one month and even confirmed with the employees I could cancel and use it only a month. They said yes. I go in the gym to cancel, sign the papers, and two months later they are still charging my card for and sending me decline fees! I've cancelled two months ago and almost every other day I'm getting emails and voicemails about my overdue balance. I've called multiple times to tell them I've already cancelled and to take care of it. Something is not clicking for these people. The manager said they have a right to bill me after I cancel my membership. What?! Don't believe the lie that this is a cancel anytime gym. Even after they have paper documentation you've cancelled they will continue to call and harass you for a service you haven't used for months. This is the most unethical business transaction I've experienced!! Crazy!!! read more

I signed up for 3 months of personal training at roughly $500 per month. They assured me that the contract was set to cancel after 3 months. After 2 months I double checked with the front desk that I only had 1 more month. So, on the 4th month I get charged for $500. I ask about the incorrect charge and the response was "oops, well, we cannot reverse the charge. Against company policy".... "How about another month of training?!" Billing is simple and the price for the single location is very reasonable considering a contract is not required. Great gym, with new equipment and low member count unlike other Gold's Gym in the area. They do require masks, but a majority of members follow protocols. Some bad apples, but staff seems to remain pretty vigilant of frequent "mask-less" members. This gym is very well maintained and possibly the cleanest Gold's Gym location I have been to. So it's new so obviously all the equipment is too. Tons of cardio equipment you will not be waiting for a treadmill to open up. There is a very small selection of kettlebells. I mean so small they don't have a 40lb or 50lb available to use. Not like someone else is using it. They just don't have those weights. At least 1 kettlebell every 5lb increment doesn't seem to unreasonable. But, alas, they do not have them. There is also no dip rack. They have a couple of places you could do dips like the assisted pull-up and dip machine. However, if you want to do weighted dips with a belt all that crap gets in the way. Every other Gold's I've been to in Austin has a dedicated dip rack. I was disappointed that there is not one here. The locker room is nice. Only flaw that I can see is the sinks. You can't turn on the water and run it until it's hot. So plan to shave in the frigid low flow that they provide. Most guys who work out in the morning then shower, shave and head to work. Well it's gonna be with razor burn. The showers are really nice though. Best I have seen in town. A dip rack, some kettlebells, and decent sinks would have made this a 5 Star. It's still a nice gym though. Hopefully they will add the equipment? Update. They just stopped me and advised I had to pay more for their level 2 gym. It isn't any better than any other Gold's gym but they want to charge more for it. If you are already a Gold's member it will certainly piss you off. Because of that it gets dropped to a one star. I've been going to this gym for about 2 years. I came in this evening and the girl working the front desk mentioned that they upgraded their membership policy for the facility in which you had to have the $40 membership. I'm in college, and I had to put my months notice in a few days ago so I wouldn't be paying for a membership while I was gone. She proceeded to tell me my only option to get into the facility is to buy a $15 day pass. I did, but it was extremely frustrating for someone who's been going to this gym since it opened. Love this gym! It's near our house and the staff is so friendly. The childcare area is great and the folks who are there make my daughter way happier than she was in the Lifetime child center. The 11:15 Wednesday HIIT class is the best class I've ever taken at a gym--my only complaint is that they don't offer the class more often. Oh, and that they don't have free spin classes on regular spin bikes, but honestly, it's just given me an excuse to try other ways to get a good workout. Huge fan of this place! read more

This gym is just another golds gym. What makes it special is the staff. Specifically the trainers. I have been going to my personal trainer here at the Belterra Golds for almost 2 years. I work out with my trainer 3 times a week and I am in the best shape I've ever been in. They're all so great that I signed my son up for twice weekly sessions to train. They tailored a program to train him for football in the fall and baseball in the spring. The work with him not on building muscles but reaction time and quickness and being able to switch directions quickly when you're stealing a base etc. Our trainer is amazing and patient. read more

I have been a Golds member for YEARs and was excited when this gym opened close to my job. I have been working out at this gym 2-3 days a week and for the first time in months I was approached by a manager and was told I needed to fill out an application and upgrade my membership (again- a membership that I have had for YEARS) in order to work out at this "level 2" gym. I was also told I had to leave if I wasn't going to upgrade and pay more- even though no one had mentioned the "levels" before. I will definitely not recommend this gym to anyone and will not be paying extra just to get a towel with my workout. So ridiculous. read more

I'm on a budget and can sympathize with folks who originally joined a different Gold's location. But this is my first Gold's membership experience and it's been great. I can't afford personal training so thank goodness for the Gold's Amp app on my phone. Stick the ear buds in and follow orders. Then I am spent and headed to the showers. The suana and spa are nice amenities. I live in Dripping Springs so I am thrilled with the location. It is easy in and out off of Hwy 290. My only other serious consideration was the YMCA back in Dripping, but my new Gold's membership is only $2 more than the Y. Also as a Level 2 member I can visit any Gold's I want when traveling or in another part of the city. With the state of the art machines, access to the Amp app and complimentary amenities, I think this Level 2 Gold's is worth the price of admission. read more

This location for Gold's Gym is the best I've ever been to. It's extremely clean, organized, and has towel service which is amazing! I HIGHLY recommend Victor Dean, who has been my personal trainer for the last 8 months. I have an auto-immune disease, and with the degrees Victor has, he's been able to help me tremendously and make a HUGE impact on my health and personal fitness goals. I wouldn't waste time with any other trainer over Victor! All the staff are friendly and wonderful though, and the gym runs like a clean, well oiled machine! read more

I have been a Gold's member since 2003. The Belterra location is a nice gym but the blonde woman at the front desk (Jocelyn? Jacqueline? not sure of her name) has lied to my face on two separate occasions. She also refused to put me in contact with the manager. She somehow feels that she has the authority to change the terms of the contract I signed. My contract is with Gold's corporate, through my home gym, not through Belterra. This woman is setting the owner of this Gold's up to be sued for breach of contract. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. We shall see what happens. I'll start by saying that I really wanted to join this gym like others have mentioned here since It's closer to my house than LifeTime fitness. I'm currently a member of LifeTime and pay 150 a month for two members with all the classes and amenities included. I got to this place and noticed that it was empty. The one sales person was busy so we asked the front desk if we could get a week pass to check it out. We were told that it would cost $49 a person for a week pass!!!! We explained that we wanted to join but wanted to see if we liked the gym first. Front desk person said "sorry its $49". At the point a sales person showed up to talk to us. Other than the $49 for a week, the most outrageous thing a heard that day was that it was going to cost $100 per person to join the gym. The price was to include all the classes offered and amenities. I was baffled and clearly made my decision then based on price. This is a "higher level" facility that doesn't even have a pool!. The sales person gave us a week pass (free this time) and said come check it out BUT you CANNOT participate in any of the classes. Gold's has lost its mind! We began to walk out and observed a member walk in and ask the front desk for a towel. The front desk person said "sorry we are out but I have paper towel for you". Remember the gym was empty! I'll stick with LifeTime since I get an indoor/outdoor pool, spa, plenty of towels, unlimited classes, basketball courts, racketball, rock climbing and more. Stay away from this place. read more

Let me start by saying I have zero issues with the gym itself, it's the management that's the problem. I originally joined the gym in hopes kids club would work out for my 18 month old so I could get a break during the day. Kids club did not work out for us. I don't find it to be very accommodating for younger children and it seems a few of the girls find it their job to man the desk instead of actually watch and interact with the kids. So in August I went in to cancel my kids club membership. Over two weeks later, I finally received a call confirming they had received my cancellation via voicemail (thank goodness). After September, I noticed a few random $3 and $5 charges to my account. When I called to inquire, I was told they were kids club charges. When I informed them that had been cancelled months ago, and it also didn't fit the typical $12/month charge, they left word for their GM, Seth. Four calls and two weeks later, no return call from Seth. I then personally walk into the gym where the AGM, Josh, shakes my hand, looks me in the eyes and promises he will take care of it and I should hear from him by end of day Monday. Monday comes and goes. Silence. I call three times Tuesday to ensure it's been taken care of. No return call. The silence is deafening. Almost a month later the issue is still unresolved. I guess it's common practice to ignore customer issues, unacceptable. I will say, I enjoyed my workouts with Tyler and enjoyed the many phone calls answered by Chris who did his best in what has a been a miserable experience. read more

I've been to many other Gold's Gyms that are much nicer than this one, and they don't charge anything extra. If you want a great trainer at this location request Victor Dean. He actually went to college and received his degrees in this field. He is totally professional and knows what he is doing. I have multiple injuries including a knee replacement. I have made great improvements in strength and weight loss. You need to request him otherwise they will hand you off to new trainers who have gotten their certifications online. I look forward to my training sessions.
