As a government employee affected by the 2025 shutdown, I reached out to Gold's Gym Glen Burnie on 11/13 to explain that my membership payment was late due to being furloughed -- we have not received any pay since 10/01. I was told my account would be noted, but that I would not be allowed to use the gym until payment was made. I explained my situation several times, including that our back pay would be released soon, yet I was still denied access. It felt incredibly insensitive and discouraging to have to repeat my circumstances four different times just to ask for temporary understanding. I actually love Gold's Gym, which makes this experience especially disappointing. The gym has been my outlet during this stressful and emotional time, and to feel like I had to BEG to continue using it was truly disheartening. I've been a member for 6-7 years now and was even an employee about 2 decades ago. I'm excited about the much needed new renovations have started (especially the ground level bathrooms!). Much kudos go to the cleaning staff. Lord knows the guys keep them busy in the men's locker/bathroom! I always make time to thank them every time I see them! This is my second review of this gym. The only reason I go here is because I'm moving and this is the only convenient gym. You 100% get what you pay for. This gym is ALWAYS dirty, unorganized, and the people who work here do not care. They have signs every where saying put your equipment back but they don't enforce this or even pick up after people who leave the gym in chaos. The sauna is gross do not go in there without socks and a towel. They just redid the women's restroom and with this "frosted glass" but you can see the person behind the glass and through the very large gaps in the doors. read more

Gold's Glen Burnie is the best gym for the price in the Greater Baltimore metropolitan area. Gold's has an abundance of space and equipment, a working sauna, ample parking, and is open 24 hours. One of the biggest and best Gold Gym's around the DMV in my opinion! This Golds has every machine, rack, and and cardio apparatus that you'll need to get a great workout. The gym is open 24 hours a day and the staff is friendly, knowledgable and courteous. The patrons were from nearly every age group (17 to 80+), full of good folks that love to train. It's a very cool place to visit as it seems to be the Mecca of gyms for all sports enthusiasts types whether you're into bodybuilding, CrossFit, Speed/Agility training, HIIT, or looking to handle a routine casual workout. There is even a Women's gym located upstairs where it is specifically a "no-judgment" zone for women to get their workouts completed without the fellas hogging up all the key equipment and workout machines. The place is huge with 4 large workout floors and areas downstairs with an indoor turf for cardio-strength training. There's even and upstairs stretching space, a ton of elliptical machines, bikes and treadmills admist all the iron too. In all, a fun place to visit for a good workout. I just wish this gym was closer to city. I would certainly train and workout here daily. Most Golds Gyms in DC are a forth the size. read more

I've gone to this location a few times. I like what they offer, and the variety of fitness items. My only hiccup is that I feel like there really is no space in some areas- it can feel cramped. I like to be in my own "space" while I'm working out. Other than that, the staff is nice, very personable. The bathrooms were clean and it is probably the best gym for just about everyone. I wish the hours were a little better and the parking lot was better lit. It is kind of way in the back of the parking lot and criminal activity towards women has increased in that area. read more

I have been a member of this Gold's Gym since 2020. While I have had my qualms and complaints about it, it is overall a pretty good gym. Much like any gym the time of day you go matters significantly. I have the privilege of being able to get there right before the evening rush. This gym has a really nice cleaning/janitorial staff. They do their best to keep the areas clean and organized. I do wonder if they clean the equipment down during low activity hours? It's hard to trust gym goers are doing their part to keep things clean/sanitized. Also, even on very low activity / down times it doesn't seem like anyone moves weights, accessories or equipment back to where it should be. While it is on the guest, shouldn't the staff ensure safety and ease of movement? While often the dumbbells, plates, collars, and other accessories are often randomly placed throughout the space it isn't exactly the gyms fault. People do not have gym etiquette and do not understand how to put things back. However, it's frustrating to come in and see dumbbells and such strewn about. I would love to see: - women's restroom get an upgrade (stalls are broken, sanitary buckets sit on the floor in stalls, floods often, toilets are often out of service) - additional equipment be available for check-out (belts, wrist wraps, boxing gloves) - sanitization stations properly working. (Paper towels in paper towel holders, spray bottles that actually spray so we don't have to twist off the nozzles to get liquid out) - it would also be great if Dixie cups were available next to the drinking stations so people are not putting their heads under them to drink. - Clean, small linen towels for body sweat available for all. - might not hurt to also clean the air filters in the building, it's a pungent, damp smell to the gym which is almost unavoidable however it is manageable to make guests feel like they aren't in a turtle tank. - upstairs treadmills that function properly. - things on the televisions that ARENT just sports. read more

Hello, I tried to check in to Gold's Gym in Glen Burnie, and she explained to me my membership is not accepted because they're a franchise - meaning, I can't come to their gym because they're not affiliated with the corporate entity know as Gold's Gym. What the heck am I paying for? I just moved to Maryland and I was guaranteed access to all Golds across the U.S. I'm severely disappointed to hear that I've paid for a membership, but I'm not accepted at the gym in Glen Burnie. It's winter and this place heat don't work. What are we doing paying our membership and this big ass corporation where the CEOs get millions of dollars can't afford to fix the heat. Make it make sense. Also, why has it been several years and Golds Gym still looking like when it was founded in the 1800s. Like i get ppl like it for its rugged feel but there is a way to update the gym while preserving that same vibe. Why the fans and stereos got cakes of dust from when it was probably first built? They have signs all over the gym telling you to rack the weights or your membership might be suspended or canceled. They do not enforce this at all so if you wanna go to a gym, where you have to takeoff eight plates before you work out because nobody takes the plates off then this is the place for you to get a workout before you even work out, people want to sit behind the desk and do nothing, they need re-rack everything.! read more

im hanicapped and the only bathrooms are on the second floor. second floor has many many steps to go up and down. Equipment is good but the weights are never put away. the rules in the gym are not followed or enforced. the kids club, if your a parent and need to drop your kid with them, is a nightmare. the people watching the kids are not the problem, they are understaffed and ill informed of time limits and other rules. as many new machines and weights that they buy, they need to take some of that money to hire so more help because they need it. ive been a member over 3 years and it has been downhill so much im changing gyms. read more

Fantastic facility, great professional staff, great equipment, terrible procedures - not military friendly. Was temporarily stationed in the area, spoke with staff to open an account to term of my time and spoke with staff when I had hoped to close it. Unfortunately it just wasn't performed. May have been miscommunication or otherwise, but to cancel your account if you can't visit the physical location of this franchise you need a written letter. If you wish to cancel in person it has to be when a manager is available. Not the best for the busy professional. So the janitor of the place quit because she wasn't being appreciated or I don't know what the real reason is. But the restrooms are absolutely gross. There are water and a non-liquid marks around the toilet and there are tissues in the toilet. The sauna is turned off. And it's just really bad Maintenance and I'm really disappointed. And there is a person who works out there but just needs to mind her own business and just stay in her lane when I'm complaining to the front desk about the issues. And I'm not yelling, I'm not cursing. I'm being calm and rational, so this place really needs a readjustment. You know who you are. And thank you Tatiana for listening and calling the manager, she was very professional. She made sure to fix the problem as soon as possible. I was a member at this gym for 12 years and only ended my membership because I recently moved. Over the years I have had my share of complaints mostly with cleanliness and people not being good stewards of the gym. When you have such a large gym that his open 24hrs, I just think it is difficult to stay on top of things all the time. With that said, I can say they have had issues maintaining a consistent cleaning staff for some reason. As far as people not treating the gym well, I think that mostly has to do with the price point. This gym is VERY reasonably priced for what you get - I think people take that for granted unfortunately and a lot of the members just don't respect the equipment as much as they should. I've been away for a month now and even with its flaws, I miss this gym sorely. Must be one of those, you don't know what you have till it's gone situations . I am basically now paying over double the price for my current gym for about 25% of the gym. The fact is, you just can't beat what you get here for the price you pay. This place is HUGE! They have cardio machines galore, all the free weights you could want, deadlift platforms, CrossFit your thing? - they have that too! Bumper plates, ropes, CrossFit cage, boxes, etc - they offer classes and have a Lady's Golds section as well. You get to bring a free guest with you ANYTIME with your membership (just make sure they have an ID as they will hold it at the front desk) - this was extremely nice when a friend would visit and they don't try to pressure your guest into a membership either which is a major bonus! Here are a few common complaints I have heard over the years here and my personal experience or response: 1) Rude staff - I have never once had an issue with the staff here. Anytime I have brought something up to them they have alway been very nice. Even when I had to come in to cancel my membership due to my move, they were very nice. Bottom line is when the staff here deals with customers, they are normally upset about something and I think that anybody that works in customer service eventually starts to hate the customers if they only are getting yelled at all the time. If you have an issue with something try to remember it's not the staff fault and they want to see things fixed and nice just like you. Treat them with respect and they will do the same. 2) Cleanliness - as I said previously, this had been a sticky point for me a well. Bottom line for me though is that it is not a big enough problem to outweigh all the pros to this gym. For me, I just always tried to leave the gym in better shape then when just got there. Wether that means picking up a few paper towels off the floor when I throw my own away, or putting a couple plates back in their proper location. I just tried to be a good steward of the gym to keep it nice - we all want a nice place to workout, so we should all do our part. 3) Broken equipment - I've never seen a piece of equipment broken here for an unusually long period. They are fairly good about fixing things when they are broke. The silver lining is there is always another piece of equipment that you can use for whatever you are targeting that day. Did I mention this place is huge and has a crap ton of equipment! 4) Locker rooms - these still need some work and I have seen them maintained well for periods of time, and there have been times where 3 of the 5 showers had been broken for 2 months or more at a time. I think this has to do with the cleaning staff problems I had mentioned before. It's unfortunate because this seems like a fairly easy issue to address. Overall it's not something that would keep me from this gym and I would workout in the morning and shower here everyday before work. Bottom line is you will NOT find a better gym for the price you pay in the area. The first thing I am going to do when I move back to Maryland is sign a membership back with Gold's Gym Glen Burnie. read more

I'm knocking off one star from this Gold's Gym location due to the increasing volumes of people that come now. I think more and more people have discovered the good membership deals here and have signed up. However, I don't think the current space can handle this high capacity. The cardio machines on the first floor is still manageable, but not on the second floor. The weights section is completely packed and overcrowded. It'll take forever for you to finish your workout. Just FYI, I go between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, and parking is absolutely ridiculous now. Both its parking lots are completely full at this time. I can only imagine if you go during the day, you won't experience the overcrowding. On the bright side, Gold's Gym recently got rid of all their remaining CTVs and replaced them with new flat screen HDTVs. read more

Gold's gym of Glen Burnie is where old fitness machines go to die. Lots of equipment and some of it actually works. But if you're a hardcore bodybuilder, and have no use for plates under 45 pounds (good luck looking 10 lb plates) then this is the gym for you! read more

I started off as a regular member just coming in to do cardio and get myself back into the gym. I'm was a regular at my last gym back home and know how to use pretty much every piece of equipment in there. After my first week, I was propositioned by one of the front desk working to sign up for my "free 3 day personal training sessions". So I sign up and leave work early to attend the first one. We started the personal session training session and then they ABRUPTLY ended it to try to force me into signing a contract w/ the personal trainer. I told them from the start that I wasn't going to sign up immediately. I simply didn't have the time or the money considering I was working 12-hour days. After almost 30 minutes of back-and-forth with the trainer, he finally gives up and just walks away. NO MORE TRAINING, NO NOTHING. They couldn't get anything out of me, so THE DEAL WAS OFF So basically, you DON'T get 3 or even 1 personal training session, it's a few minutes of actual training before they either lure you into paying ridiculous amounts of money OR they completely call-off the session and walk away. That's bad business practice. I've been to gym's where I've gotten full sessions of personal training and because they were effective, i eventually signed up. But this was off-putting. The personal trainer there was VERY condescending and I could tell he was assuming I knew absolutely nothing about health. Their approach to getting people to sign up is very predatory. They prey on people who don't know anything. Even if was in a position to sign up at the time, I wouldn't have just based on how they conduct business. Another thing that I hate about this gym is how crowded it is. It is VERY crowded even late at night. I would get to the gym at 10pm and still be stepping on toes and bumping into people in the weight room. This is very annoying when I have a set routine and my flow is disrupted because I constantly have to wait on machines. Or I'm constantly getting death stares by people waiting on the machine that I'm using. The final straw for me was when I had to relocate to work. I came in and told the front desk clerk/person/whatever working that there was no Gold's gym anywhere near where I was moving and needed to cancel. I only had a few months left for the contract. He basically tells me to fuck off and refused to help. So as of now, I owe the gym money because I refused to continue to pay for a gym that I couldn't use. It's not even like I wanted to cancel at the time, I literally didn't have a choice. If you're still reading this, DO NOT SIGN UP AT THIS GYM. I know it's tempting because it's cheap, but this place is crap and the staff is terrible. read more

I went to cancel my membership and was told that there had to be a 30 day processing period before it can officially be closed, and I'd be responsible for any fees during that time. I paid the bill total a month later, only to find out two months later that I'm still being billed monthly. The Facebook post suggests we would be reimbursed for any dues that were incurred during the covid-19 pandemic closure, but I haven't been refunded anything. Love this gym, but the lack of mask enforcement is bothersome..there are signs everywhere but there are far too many that get away with not following the mask requirements. I want to be able to continue to work out but I'm worried that the individuals that are not required to keep their mask on/ above their nose will end up getting this place shut down or become a super spreader location. read more

This location of Gold's is relatively spacious, especially after its renovation. Downstairs, you have the studios, cardio equipment, turf area, boxing bags, and also a decent size weight training area. Upstairs houses more weight equipment, cardio equipment, stretching bars, the locker room, and the female-only area. There is plenty of paper towels/cleaning detergent to wipe down the equipment; lots of TV for your entertainment. Women's locker room are generally well maintained. I am one of the morning gym goers and thus have no problems getting the equipment I want to use right away. All in all, a pretty well maintained gym. read more

The gym itself is nice and big. The management and it's practices are shady at best. I received a special offer in the mail. I was happy it sounded great. Upon arrival I was told in addition to the fess listed I would have to pay additional fees for equipment upgrade annually. I spoke to a representative and showed her the offer her response was argumentative and trying to justify additional fees. She insisted I had to pay extra fees " I laughed and walked out" -I don't have to pay any money for something I don't agree to. Be upfront about your cost, your advertisements are disengenous. Probably the biggest golds in the Baltimore Metro Area they have a huge selection of weightlifting equipment as well as cardio equipment I love the turf area you can lift barefoot here comfortably it's always super clean for some reason the sauna stays broken which stinks. I've been going to this gym for about 4 years now and I'm finally doing a review on it. Golds is a pretty big gym, they have pretty much everything you need and for the most part the employees are friendly. Many of the members are very nice, will chat for a few minutes in between sets and will spot you if you need it. As another Yelper pointed out they added vintage artwork which is very nice but they also added things that don't need to be there. In the middle of the gym they have a shed, yes a shed that serves no purpose but to take up room. They also added a trapeze, why I do not know. I've seen no one use it and I'm not sure anyone will use it. I wish they put more money into getting some of the equipment fixed and added more useful things like new weights, and new benches. It's a gym I don't need it to be fancy, just be useful and a somewhat enjoyable place to do my workout. I probably would have signed up at another gym but Gold's is on my way home from work and they have plenty of equipment so I don't have to really wait for much. I really don't think this is a negative review of Golds and I don't want it to sound that way but I was just used to a Gold's gym that had free weights, some machine weights and cardio equipment. Now it seems like they are adding stuff and turning the gym into something it's not. Another positive is when the WWE wrestlers are in DC or Baltimore they will use this Gold's gym. I like this Gold's Gym location, it just depends on what you are looking for. I registered with the Bowie location. A membership at Bowie allows you access here, Crofton, Dundalk, and Marley Station. Bowie has a good selection of classes, a good ventilated cinema with carido equipment, and a good weight room, Crofton has a lot of cardio machines and large studios with a lot of equipment I use to build my own circuit (I'm sure they use it for fitness class, I just have never been to one.) So about this location: Parking- fine, it's a big parking lot. You may not get a space right by the door, but...you're here to workout, move those legs :) Fitness Classes- you will get a work out. Channing, Jenn, and Katie are the best instructors to get you a great workout. You will have to pre-register and arrive 10 minutes early, as a lot of the classes fill up. Equipment- They have all the machines that I prefer here. Treadmill(about 3 different variations and plenty around the gym), Stairmasters (4), Ellipticals, and a 3 part weight area. So the first weight section has the machines where you adjust the weight by levers and knobs. The second weight section is too advanced for me, where you add the free weights to machines that function similar to the 1st section. The third weight section has your bench press, squat press,the regular you would expect. The third weight section is always crowded so I don't use this area often, and if I do it's only for 2 or 3 machines, but that's okay. Anywho, there will always be some type of equipment to use. Workout Cinema- It's small and does not contain the equipment I prefer really. It's also hot, and if you get close to where the fan is, there is a bright light in your way. Locker room- spacious, showers, lockers, the norm. It is well kept. Kid Center- They have a kid center, idk the hours . People- I dont need too much attention, I can't speak on if the staff is friendly, helpful, etc. They swipe my card and I go on about my business. The instructors are helpful and friendly, and the ladies that I've encountered throughout the gym are nice as well. read more

This gym is decent. They do have a lot of machines, both aerobic and weight lifting. They have a stretch area and an area with artificial turf where you can do circuit type training. It's typically crowded when I go but I can usually find space to work out and a treadmill to run on. The place looks and feels a bit dingy and some of their equipment has been broken for some time with no repairs in sight it seems. It's really close to my house, but if there were a nicer gym in the area I would probably switch to it. read more

OK OK I think I've been coming here long enough to write a review.Honest no longer comparing to me beloved previous gym..I moved and changed jobs so it was no longer convenient. First and foremost I am a class junkie. I do best in a class environment..surrounded by people being tortured and dying the same slow death that I am. So I will start with the classes. The Friday ZUMBA is awesome, great music and great instructors (2 sisters). Gets super crowded, get there early stake out your spot. I also believe they have another class during the week. I have also taken the Les Mills Body Combat & Body Attack. All of those instructors are great as well. They do an awesome job at keeping you pumped up and motivated. I dont think they get as packed. I can't speak on the instructors for yoga, pilates or body pump I haven't taken them. OK moving on to the cardio area..I have never found myself at a time where I couldn't find a piece of cardio equipment to use. There is plenty upstairs and down. When something needs repair its usually fixed in 3-4 days period, I think that's reasonable. Also there are plenty of weight machines. Upstairs there is a great An corner which can get kinda packed. The weight room..I Dont know I haven't been in there. I do all of my weight in the woman's workout room. The women's workout room has its good and bad. Good because your aren't fighting the whole gym for a bench..just a few women. There are a few benches, 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 2 bikes. About 10 weight machines for different muscle groups. And lots of hand weights to choose from. A few bars and plates to use. Sounds great right..yes but the problem is, its small. If there a 6 women in there it feel tight. But like I said I'd rather fend for myself against a few chicks then muscle head mania downstairs. The locker room/bathroom ..truly and honestly . no complaints. Always clean always space to change. Always free lockers. Just always use a locker Its well worth 29.99 and to be able to have access to the other golds gym. The front desk folks are cool. They always speak when coming. 4 stars because I wish there wash more than 1 group exercise room and parking sucks. read more

Choose another gym!! After spending 3 years going to this gym, I just recently finally cancelled my membership, as this is not an operation you want to be a member of. The general management has turned over multiple times since I've joined, and the quality of the club as a whole has seemingly gotten worse each year. The equipment is frequently out-of-order or not working properly, the staff is not very helpful, and Management literally will just not respond to emails and member requests. The men's locker room has become an absolute joke, and there is not nearly enough work being done and service being completed throughout the day. read more
