Extremely frustrated with this ownership. Gym closed during Covid and when they reopened in Sept started automatically charging again. Nothing was sent in writing. I have not been back and now being told I owe hundreds. When you go in to cancel (because you have to do it in person with a manager)the phantom owner Mark S is traveling again. There is no manager. Don't bother! There are way batter gyms out there. The whole place needs a good scrub! The only upside is to go here in the off season, you can always see the beautiful beach. Most of the staff is great! But again I can't get past how dirty it feels! Clean the steam rooms!!!! read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. The gym overall does not feel very sanitary. The steam rooms are repulsive. I feel like I might catch an illness from the stench alone. I think someone higher up isn't putting the money in the right places. Also there's a hole in the ceiling. That's been there for too long. Probably will not be renewing my membership. This place is a messss! No one knows whats going on. The suana is always full of toilet paper. I went to a yoga class and no one showed up to teach twice and everyone was upset. It turned out the yoga teacher moved to florida and no one at the gym even knew.... The smoothie bar isnt working because theres no yogurt ever or ingredients. When I call about the classes to ask details about whats involved no one has a clue either. Whoever is running this place needs to get their shit together. read more

This gym sucks!!! It's dirty from the shower to the studios to the equipment. Towels are never ready or they run out and the staff just shrug their shoulders. The staff barely say hello to you when you walk in the door. What kind of nonsense is this ?? I'm only here in the summer thankfully I don't have to join but it's horrid to come to beautiful Long Branch beachfront and have to see this gym be wasted with a company/ staff and management that don't care at all about their reputation or this location. Regarding a specific trainer, this is also a joke. I went to an ABS class and to start the male trainer came ten minutes late. And then he proceeded to yell out exercises to the full class of talking ladies while stating he was tired of hearing complaints about being late. He then said this is the last ABS class because of the complaints in between he's yelling "Go Go Go!" over and over. Next he commanded another exercise that we had to figure out how to do. There was no direction no motivation and no help. At this point I'm not sure what me and my friend are getting out of this class. We aren't regulars in the class so we aren't familiar with this style however we regularly exercise in our full time home in NYC but neither of us have attended such a poorly orchestrated class. Why wasn't there a proper headset on him and good loud motivating music on with proper instruction and guidance. This was total BS!!! I workout often and know good trainers and classes!!! This was horrendous. These some clearly have no clue what a good hardworking trainer is. They work with everyone and help each person and guide the class with positioning techniques to make sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly and effectively. A few times I was questioning the safety of the exercises for my lower back. I also noticed a few women doing the exercises incorrectly and worried they would hurt themselves. All in all this is a horrible gym experience!!! And after reading these other reviews about Golds LB confirms my experience!! Do NOT join or bother with this gym!! read more

Great place to workout. Always walk in to be greeted by the front desk staff who always greet you and carry a positive vibe. The maintenance staff is also very kind and helpful. The men's locker room is always clean along with the bathrooms and showers. Huge variety of equipment so you always find different types of workouts. Hours are great,so you can plan on working out any time of the day. Everyone here is friendly and I've gotten to know many people here. I've been training here for a year now and don't have thoughts about leaving anytime soon. read more

Do not join this gym unless you have extra money to throw away. The owner here refuses to refund the charge for the months charge during Covid when the gym was closed. I tried to contact the sales manager Toni who will never respond to you. I have also tried calling since the gym re-open and the owner still did not refund the charges! I don't understand how a gym owner can be so greedy. Insider info: when Cheesecake Factory wanted to buy out the gym few years ago, the owner wouldn't sale because they wanted like a million. Website says free trial day pass and I submitted the form. Came into the gym and the front desk person informed me during summer months free trials are not given basically ignoring the form. She then charged my girlfriend and I $40! Was even rude about it 1) false advertising and illegal 2) not even shown the gym and given a tour nor explanation of membership pricing!! read more

Really small gym overall, no deadlifting/Olympic lifting platforms, staff are very rude and impatient. Day pass is 20 bucks and since I thought the gym was as big as I looked, i bought it, but it was most definitely not worth it. Every machine is very cramped, and music isn't great. read more

Really nice gym. The staff is very friendly and the gym is very clean. I would give five stars but the steam room always breaks down. The towel service is clutch. Plenty of gym equipment and most of the classes are no extra charge. The spin room upstairs is a great class. read more

Great classes from spin to pilates to paddle boat and more. No basketball court or pool. Which certainly makes the other nearby gyms competitive. For me this gym is down the street, I can ride my bike and I'm a classroom junkie so it works. Just hope the parking situation next year won't be the confusing fiasco it was this summer. For raining days or for those who don't bike ride, this summer was bit stressful. read more

This gym is such a scam. They add in every type of fee they can think of and change their mind about their terms when you want to cancel. To make it worse, they started charging the members to park to go to the gym. If you try talking to the owner it won't get you anywhere he doesn't even care. Stay away! read more

I have been coming to this gym for many years and I have to say that I am highly disappointed with the quality and service of the gym. Front desk/ shake bar associates are unfriendly and extremely rude (with the EXCEPTION of trainers and class instructors whom are friendly and caring). You ask them a question or for a shake and immediately they give you attitude, roll their eyes and simply become busy to assist you. Meanwhile the are just standing their doing absolutely nothing. You try to reach out to the owner and he is never around, always traveling and just doesn't care. Being a high end gym you get the same if not lower quality of service as a low budget gym. read more

Gold's Gym at Pier Village is a beautiful place to exercise. I can't tell you how much that helps motivate me to go. The staff has been friendly and caring. There is a ton of equipment and plenty of classes. But looking out over the ocean while your in the treadmill makes it a wonderful place to keep fit. read more

Good luck finding a better gym membership for the price that Gold's Gym LB offers. The facility is great & the organization of the machines, benches & free weights was clearly very well thought out. My only complaint is that they don't have enough classes in the afternoon/evening & parking in the summer is an issue. I cancelled my memberships at Richochet, NJ Fitness, and Planet fitness within 5 minutes of meeting her wonderful support staff.
