Vegan sushi roll and yummy tofu with tea.

The service was fantastic. Multi-generational servers who are very attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious, but not photographed. Some of the best food doesn't get a picture because it is SOOO good. Had to take my tempura home because the tofu Soba noodles were very tasty; my tummy was satisfied. I think this is a family run restaurant: quaint, great lighting and seating for all size groups. Thanks for a great experience.

I've been here twice, the first time I was in a soup mood so I ordered their Udon noodle with vegetable & shrimp tempura. There was only one shrimp tempura so that was a bit disappointing but oh my goodness the udon noodle soup was such a generous portion and so flavorful, it definitely made up for it. Their rolls were good, we ordered the Shrimp roll, California roll and Avocado roll. The food and service make this place a good choice for dinner. The restaurant is clean, has parking out front and they have a restroom. I will be coming back.

Food was good enough, but it was pricey and there wasn't enough on the portion size. Characters Characters Characters Characters Characters Characters

    Chirashi bowl

This is an old town Goleta staple. Fresh fish, rotating specials, and a no-frills serving style. It's a small restaurant so you might have to wait if you get there later in the evening but I think it's worth the wait if you want to enjoy the best sushi offering in the Goleta area. The Chirashi bowl has big slices of sashimi and is still a great value despite the price going up. The stand outs are the yellow tail/hamachi and the salmon. The hamachi kama was delicious and cooked perfectly. The portion was a lot and was enough to share. The only thing that could have made it better is if it was served with some lemon to squeeze on top. The fire dragon roll with salmon was great too. The spicy tuna was flavorful and not mushy, and the salmon was great quality. The rolls are large and come with eight pieces. They also have other dishes like donburi and tempura but I really think you would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't order sushi, sashimi, or grilled fish. You'll generally be able to find parking around there but you might have to walk a block or two.

The arrive at goleta sushi is incredible. Their service is top notch and the selection is wonderful. We had the snake roll, dynamite roll and the hamachi with jalapeño. The environment is quiet and enjoyable. All of it was incredible. We are regulars and will be back next week.

Great service, solid sushi rolls, great family spot with low key home vibes! We come here about once every few months. Enjoy!

    Teriyaki Chicken

Servers were excellent from the time I walked in and the food was even better! I ordered the chicken teriyaki platter came with a wonderfully presented spring mix salad with a strawberry garnish. A short time later I was presented with a very generous portion of mouth watering sautéed marinaded chicken cutlets with a delicious teriyaki sauce over sticky white rice. Delicious!!! Looking forward to my next visit to Goleta Sushi House!

Ok, ok, I'm posting for our favorite, Goleta Sushi House. We love the super fresh Yellowtail and Salmon sashimi, the best Karaage fried chicken we have experienced, the special hamachi kama (cheeks), the seaweed salad, and recommend that you ask for the Salmon Skin roll! Their Miso soup is loved by everyone we've shared a taste with. They are located in a trifecta of great small businesses in Old Town Goleta. Look for Goleta Sushi's blue awning across Hollister from the _original Habit Burger_, Designer Haircuts, Bob's Vacuum, and Mike Ruiz' Smog testing at Fuel Depot. (huh, a quatrofecta!)

Tuna, albacore, red snapper and a dragon fire roll.

Okay, this place is so good I had to come back immediately less than a week after I tried it the first time. Sushi is so good, staff are friendly and vibrant. Sushi Chef is friendly and brings laughter. Aside from the great service, the food is delicious. Even the miso soup just has a heartier and exquisite taste. The first time I had way too much because their sushi pieces are a nice proportion, didn't expect that so I ordered the dragon roll in addition to an order of Tuna, Salmon and albacore. The salmon is why I had to go back immediately . It was just as good if not better than the first time. I like the location on old town Goleta and inside it has a feel of cozy mom n pop sushi place, that feel where the locals go to because it's the good stuff, a hidden gem.

We held out on eating out and this was so worth it, just perfect and quality. Future birthdays and family gatherings will be here! First day we got happy hour oysters, uni, crab claw, fish and chips, bowl of chowder. Oysters were so fresh and delicious. Uni was remarkably sweet and creamy and sea fresh. Perfect fry on the fish and fries complemented raw plate. Chowder also delicious. Everything came out quickly and looked so good I didn't know where to start! We came back the next day as part of our staycation:) we got some more oysters because why not! lobster roll was the highlight, buttery roll and packed full of lobster. Calamari was great, loved the addition of fried peppers. Fish market really has their fry nailed down. Albacore crudo was good but our least favorite, would have preferred a more delicate marinade over the soy chili crunch and will likely order sashimi next time instead The guy helping us out at the cashier was super welcoming. Service was friendly and no frills just the way we like it! Thanks for the fun time out!

The folks working there were friendly and welcoming. The fish displays had good variety and the diver scallops were HUGEEEEEE. Ordered to eat in: lobster roll, fish and chips, bowl of chowder, and a side Caesar. Came out to just under $70...felt pricey. When the food came out, the lobster roll was a fair size, chowder was generous, the fish and chip was HUUUUGGGEE. The side salad was a generous portion, worthy of being an entree size. The food was good, outside seating allowed our furbaby got to hang out with us. Help yourself water, and they had a dog bowl, bonus points! We'll come back next time we are in town to visit family.

Maybe my sushi standards are too high, but it was a let down…read more More than anything, the handrolls were the worst. The nori was like paste by the time we got the order, not the crunchy, fresh nori that is supposed to wrap around the rice. It was just soggy and mushy. Rice was not cooked well either. Blue crab itself was ok, but I didn't even like the ratio of blue crab to rice (too much rice). The lobster roll was good, but you could hardly tell it was a lobster roll. I actually thought we got the wrong order because the lobster was so obscure. The wagyu tataki might be my favorite dish, the charred avocado was a nice touch. Pretty disappointed. It might have been an off night since we were there on a Sunday, but not the upscale Japanese restaurant we were looking for.

The crab hand roll was amazing. Probably could have eaten several of those. The Santa Barbara Roll had a slightly off taste. The tiradito was good, as it should be, since it's one of their specialty dishes. The wagyu was melt-ilicious. Tuna and Avo was alright, but wouldn't order again. The setting is dark.. a combination of less daylight during winter and also dim interior lighting. About half the tables inside have decent lighting to actually see the food. When the doors are open, brrrr, chilled to the bone.

We absolutely LOVED Yabee and Johnny (the two workers at the front) and were treated very well throughout these years. However, today my boyfriend went back there to pick us up a poke bowl. It has been about a month of us not eating here (we got busy). Unfortunately it doesn't seem Yabee and Johnny are working anymore which is a huge bummer. He came home with a said "large" poke bowl that he paid $35 for. For the base he asked for light mixed greens, and for the protein and toppings he asked for salmon, tuna and imitation crab. When he came home, I immediately noticed there was a SIGNIFICANT decrease in the fish portioning, especially for the "large bowl". The only reason the bowl was filled, was because it was mostly lettuce. I kid you not when I say our bowl was filled with about 90% lettuce and greens and about 10% actual fish and toppings. We have NEVER experienced this before and for the price we paid, I would expect anyone to be treated to MUCH better portions of fish. The bowl didn't even remotely fill either of us up and we were both left just as hungry as before. I wish I had taken a photo of what it looked like when we were done, as the bowl was STILL filled to the brim with lettuce. I'm not sure if we were just personally jipped this time but I sincerely hope this isn't the new way this place will be handling their business. I am pretty bummed about this.
