Doesn't deserve the one star. Most overpriced, underperforming golf store I've ever been in even if you add in shipping cost, online is far better to go with. In the last six months, I have purchased a Driver, wedge, and iron set at Golf Galaxy. I have at one time or another been helped by most all the employees there, and spoken to the manager about a shaft. I have yet to have a poor experience in this store. Twice I have been fitted into the club(s) that work best for me, not the newest models, even though I have let them choose what suits my swing the best. The previous person that had a BAD experience should no that when a club breaks, you call the MANUFACTURER, not the retail store. Shouldn't take out a bad decision on the store. read more

Warning: **DO NOT** go to Golf Galaxy with a gift card from Golfsmith (even though Golf Galaxy bought out Golfsmith)! Kroger's sells them, Dick Sportings Goods sells them, etc... you know what I mean? **GOLF GALAXY ^&%*$(# REFUSES TO HONOR THEM!!!** I just went through absolute hell in the store, trying to get them to honor the gift card (just a $25 dollar gift card for my birthday). The cashier tried this, tried that, we got on my smartphone and tried looking up on the internet for redeeming gift cards, they called the main store manager over, who explained to me that they no longer honor the gift cards!! I explained that my sister *JUST BOUGHT IT* at Kroger's for my birthday! Seriously?!? We went 'round and 'round over this whole fiasco, and to be blunt - I got turned away and was treated extremely rude! Grrrr.... I drove all the way back home, and got on my laptop and tried contacting Golfsmith (redirects you to Golf Galaxy). I tried this, I tried that, and nothing worked, so I called their 1-866-whatever customer support number, and finally talked to a lady. I explained the whole scenario to her, and she also said they no longer honor them. I shot back that my sister bought it at Kroger's. Believe it or not, the lady customer service rep said, "Oh, well, sorry... Have your sister take the card back to Kroger's and get a refund. Tell her to tell Kroger's not to stock the gift cards as we don't honor them anymore". Can you believe this B.S.? I am DONE with Golf Galaxy! They seriously lost a customer!!! read more

Went to Golf Galaxy in Short Pump, Gen Allen, Virginia. Phil White was extremely helpful to my wife in picking out golf clubs. He was patient, offered excellent suggestions, and made her feel at ease. It was a great experience, one that she initially was not looking forward to. read more

Really friendly staff. They helped us quickly find what we were looking for with no high pressure selling. Our car battery was dead after leaving the store. The general manager Dan Baker went out to his own vehicle, came around and gave us a jump! Super nice guy. Can't say enough great things about this store. Highly recommend these guys! read more

I visited Golf Galaxy today to try out women's Callaway Solaire golf club full set which were being sold for $899.00 ($100.00) off regular price. Although the clubs were listed as being on sale, I showed the salesman a competitors price of $699.99. Golf Galaxy states in writing that they will match best price for other brick and mortar as well as on line retailers. The online retailer (Wide World of Golf) is a "certified" Callaway seller out of Spokane, Washington. Golf Galaxy refused to match the price. So I ordered the set from Wide World of Golf and am completely pleased with my purchase. Excellent clubs! Golf Galaxy is not customer focused, products are overpriced, and they do not abide by their "best price guarantee". I will not visit them again and will advise my friends and colleagues accordingly. read more

I I came into the store to buy a set of irons. I was never approached by a salesperson. Although two people did look at me. I walked back to the simulator to try to hit a club. I asked two Associates how long would it be before I was able to hit a club. That I want to buy this set. Their responses will hang around a while something might open. Needless to say I walked out and I will buy that set somewhere else. read more

I left Golf Galaxy today with a terrible taste in my mouth. My father-in-law and I went in the shop to get his driver re-gripped and his Arcos sensor replaced. Once the sensor was replaced he went to the hitting bays to make sure the sensor would stay put with some full speed swings. While he was taking a couple of swings, I stepped into the adjacent bay and took a couple of swings myself. I had taken about 5 shots when an older employee approached us and told us that the hitting bays were only for people looking to buy clubs and if we wanted to hit we would need to pay $20 for a half hour use and then walked away. I followed him to the front of the store and told him how inappropriate I thought he was being. I've been a loyal customer to this location for almost 4 years. It used to be a Golfsmith, but Golf Galaxy bought them out. I was NEVER treated like this at Golf Galaxy. In a day when golf is struggling to get young players excited about playing, these people are driving away customers. TERRIBLE store and TERRIBLE attitude towards customer service. Please do yourself a favor and avoid Golf Galaxy like the plague they are! read more

Purchased Taylor Made golf wood there and with in months the head broke clean off at the driving range. I figured there would be no problem returning it, the shaft still looks brand new, the club was well cared for, it was obviously a manufacturing issue. I had record of the purchase. Apparently in the time since I purchased the club the store had been bought out by Dick's sporting goods and they were not honoring the warranty. I will be doing my future golf purchases elsewhere. read more
