Service is extremely poor. Went into purchase a driver. Stood there and walked around for 25 minutes without one person speaking to me. They were more interested in hanging up golf bags on the display. There were plenty of people working just not sure why they did not want to wait on anybody or me specifically. First sales person I came in contact with was quite abrupt and a bit rude. I waited for about 5 minutes and finally said "hello" to the only sales guy in the back. He never said I'll be right with you or hello or anything. His response was "find someone else, I am doing a fitting". A nicer response should have been "I am working with a customer on a fitting how about I get someone to assist you?" The customer was in a waiting area therefore I did not know he was with a customer. I was excited to purchase a new 5 wood and I started to feel deflated. Second sales person seemed very knowledgable and even gave me some helpful corrections on my golf swing. I appreciated the help. I thought I knew the exact club and brand I wanted however I changed my mind and checked out a few other clubs. By my 4th club my sales guy disappeared. Now I am truly deflated and started to leave without a purchase. Third sales guy, Dan, noticed I was leaving and he approached me with a club to try. I purchased that club and left with a more positive attitude. I told Dan he was excellent at his job and he saved the sale. If it were not for Dan I would have left without a purchase. And a good golf club is very pricy. read more

I was apprehensive about going to this location due to all the negative reviews. I just needed to get a putter regripped, so I took a chance. The staff was extremely helpful and they took care of it within a matter of minutes. I had a good experience here. The staff on at the time I went we're not young kids, which seemed to be the theme with the bad reviews. I'll go back here until my experience changes. read more

Nothing has changed, this stores customer service is none existent. Sorry to say but the girl who was 16 working the register had more people skills then the store manager " Keith" . Just like everyone else's reviews already placed, very rude and told to just order from my own computer at home because the manager wouldn't trust his own computer system lol Good work bud, why to make me walk out. In sum, found it impossible to do business with them. Extremely erratic/abrupt customer service. That's the best I can say.   1st, I called ahead twice to test hit clubs in their simulators when not busy with lessons. Both times I made it clear that I was very out out of date(30 years) on the modern clubs, so needed to check out the the new ones by bitting them. And, both timest they told me it's likely they would be able to find me a simulator. Ok, so went, asked if I could and, as directed, picked out 4 drivers as directed(not cheap: Calloway, Bing, & Taylors +1) which were very, very good, but foreign to me coming from 30 year ago technology. Got over that, kept hitting and decided on the Taylor. Then proceeded to try irons which were supplied to me and was really amazed at the Calloways and not turned on by the Taylors. Point is that in my mind I was working to assess the basics of the models offered by the big brands to buy them and then get them fitted. Note: If there's any doubt that I was there to buy, I note I in fact offered to buy the Taylor demo driver on the spot. Weirdly, that seemed to be greeted with irritation. I have no idea. Suddenly out of the blue, I was told I had hit too long(they alleged 2 hours). Strange because the 2 sales people had been right there personally swapping out drivers with me to hit and then the iron clubs.  But again suddenly they went on to say I hadn't booked a fitting appointment. That's what I called about twice before I came, right? I had been told that wasnt required when I called in advance for what I needed to do, basic testing. Again, I have no idea. The reps then informed me that if/when I got a fitting, the cost of the fitting would be credited against purchase which I actually had narrowed down just by luck. I didnt know this and and it wasn't stated on their website. So why do they care about a formal fitting if, as I planned, they would have refunded the cost of the Fitting and so gotten $0 for the fitting? Again, I have no idea. I was also told at this mandatory "ending" that if I got the Taylor club with the shaft I had liked I should instead get the next model up Taylor club "head" which they then stated bigger in CC volume with a bigger sweet spot but weighed the same. But, it's not stated to be bigger on the Taylor website and the sweet spot is stated to be the same on both bigger, and, last, the weighting installed in it isn't the same. Again, I have no idea. So, amazingly after I had been told to stop, I was then told to try the new club a very limited number of times(may be 5) and "had" to stop. Of course, hitting the club 5 times wasnt convincing. 2nd, the real question is why I wasnt given the club to hit with the head they thought I should buy in the first place. Again, I have no idea....So I left, cutoff from resolving these inconsistencies with them, confused, and zero trust. When I got home I also found on their website that one can pay for time hitting on the simulators. So why not just charge me 1-2 hours? but they seemed to resent hitting and only recommending a fitting. So I called the store and they effectively said oh, we dont rent the simulators except in the winter when they are less busy. So they've set the customer up so he/she cant even pay to use the vacant simulators(those not being used for fittings or anything) to test clubs to see what brand and or model you like and then get fitted to them. FYI there were vacant simulators when I was these and when left. I have no idea. It's remains a mystery to me how they are going to fit a club if you dont have any idea what brand and model club you would like - unless you get lucky as I did with the Taylor driver. This is not likely. For example, I rejected 3 of the 4 drivers and the particular head and shaft on the Taylor driver provided me was by luck wonderful for me while the other drivers were not for me. But with the irons, I found that the Taylor irons were to me like swinging lead weights versus the Calloways being great. So, how are you going to find out which brand and model club is for you when you can't hit a cub to get a basic sense of it. I have no idea. So I have no idea how to do business with this Galaxy store, especially because they will not even rent a simulator to hit the clubs. I will have to go elsewhere to clear up the confusion created by their last minute switch of the club they recommended and supplied and by abruptly cutting me off from hitting / testing the irons as well as the newly suggested driver. From the store's point of view it will miss out on a sale of a top end driver($550) and a set of Calloway irons(they estimated $1,200). I also anticipate that I'll need hybrids and possibly a new putter. read more

I live 5 minutes from this place. Which is the only nice part about it. I came here on a Friday afternoon to get two clubs regripped, there might have been two other customers in the store. Two employees were leaning on the counter in the back on their phones while I was picking out a grip. When I asked for help, I got an attitude (as if I was interrupting his phone time). He ended up kind of helping me, but with phone in his hand the whole time, when I thanked him he quickly darted into the back. A couple other things I hate about this store is their used clubs are always insanely over priced. I would rather drive past this store and go to the Mount Laurel location. They're always nice, helpful, and have a great selection of new and used clubs. read more

Should have taken the advice and skipped this place. Girl up front was personable and professional. But then the guy that works there came up and things turned sour fast..... he was was SO rude and really disrespect to the girl helping us. When he went into the back actually said something to her - and said that she really needs to talk to her manager and not let people be rude to customers or to Employees that way... She informed me that HE was the manager and that people had complained about him all the time!! I was spending a bundle of money on an entire new set of clubs, clothes, golf supplies, etc. do a little bit of assistance would have been appreciated!! But regardless - the amount a customer spends should not change the service they receive!! (And just seeing the way he treats people, I won't go back there). This is probably the most UNPROFESSIONAL store I have dealt with. From the sales associates to the managers, they are all incompetent. The store does not have reactionary plans to help a customer and do not have any idea how to solve a customer's problem. Long story short, I went to get a shaft replaced with a new one that was bought at the store. After being checked out by a sad-faced employee, I went home and noticed I didn't receive my old shaft that was replaced out. I called golf galaxy and they didnt recall having an extra shaft. Also, they didn't have my order on file and didnt have a manager to help me or the employee with my problem. How do you not have a manager in the store to make sure things are running smoothly? I found out that they charged me for an extra adapter that they replaced on for my driver. Basically, they replaced an old adapter from my old shaft and charged me for a new one. This store has some major problems. I'm pretty sure the cameras in the store do not work because the sales associate has mentioned that to me. Good going. read more

I won't be back - that's for certain! Went in a couple weeks ago to inquire about club fittings. I'm someone who plays recreationally, have a double digit handicap - but am also interested in improving my game. It took forever for someone to offer me assistance and, by my count, there were at least 5 employees working (weekday afternoon) and four customers in the store. Two were being helped while me and the other guy were ignored. Finally I directly asked a male employee for some assistance about club fitting. When he realized I did not want to purchase a high end set of irons (I was looking for a name brand, last year's model), he became almost surly and lacked any interest in truly offering help. He did everything he could to make me NOT want to purchase anything through them. And the answers he gave me about club fittings for last year's model was simply wrong. I asked at other establishments and they assured me that they could obtain the clubs with no problem and properly fit me for them when ordering. My guess is the employee just couldn't be bothered because I wasn't spending upwards of $900 to $1000 on irons. That, or he was just plain lazy. It is a shame that this store generates primarily negative reviews - there's plenty to like about the products they DO carry, but their prices are the same as Dick's (same ownership) and everything in here you can find much cheaper online. Having said that, employees should bend over backwards to make the customer happy. That's a truism always in business - but when you aren't competitively cheaper than other alternatives, why would you basically turn away a customer? Like I said - I won't be back! read more

I've been buying and taking my clubs here for the past few years. The repair service is the best around and I always get my clubs back very quickly. The entire staff has been nothing but great every time I come in. Very knowledgeable and professional in my opinion I would say. I know that they are a non-commissioned sales staff so I don't feel pressured when I go in to look at new equipment. I took my girlfriend there last week to get new clubs. They had a very good selection better than anywhere else I've seen for women. The pro there took time and fitted her then the club tech guy adjusted her clubs right on the spot. She was extremely happy and can't wait to play now. She said the experience was nothing like she thought it was going to be. She was very comfortable and made to feel like a professional golfer. The staff here is the most knowledgeable around in my opinion. No pressure, non commission sales staff is great, they were more concerned with my game then my wallet! I am an avid golfer and I was thoroughly impressed from the PGA pro to the technician behind the club counter to the general manager. Brought my wife back in for clubs who is a beginner and they took the time to work with her which I was super impressed with! Class A facility! read more
