Most importantly, he and the other staff members could not have been nicer! bought a Titleist golf bag from Golf Galaxy today. I still have my Helix golf bag which is nice, great looking with wheels and pull up cover. The problem is- it is very heavy. While I was looking thru different bags, Ian an associate came to help me. He asked me what kind of bag and the amount that I wanted to spend. Ian showed me my option. Frank helped me adjust the strap and Bo helped me bring my new golf bag to the car. This is the service that I cannot get from online. Everybody is so nice and so helpful. Love golf Galaxy. I went to Golf Galaxy in Norwalk CT to exchange a dozen of the latest Tour Bridgestone Tiger golf balls I received as a present. They sell there today for $44.99 but because I didn't have a receipt they "offered" me $31.98? I was willing to accept that since the balls I play (Srixon Q Tour) sell for $32.00 a dzn. That's when I discovered that they were out of almost all Srixon balls as well as most of the better balls from other brands (Titleist, Callaway and Bridgestone). This on the Friday before the 4th of July. I can only surmise that Golf Galaxy is in financial distress since now would be the time to be stocked up to sell. I will seek my golf gear elsewhere. read more

Just got back from the golf galaxy in Norwalk, CT What a terrible disappointment. I walked in with my two boys who were looking to make a purchase. No one greeted us and not one person asked if we needed help. While looking at expensive golf attire, still no one even approached us. Stay away from chain Golf Stores!! Stay away!! Go to your local pro instead of this Toys R' Us of the golf world!!! Dump!!! Why does the building say GolfSmith but posters on the front glass say Golf Galaxy!? Well here we go, One star is too much to award this place... Arrived for a shaft fitting and replacement after a phone call said it would be no problem at all. Met some lady at the front who was later found to be a "manager" of the joint. She shouted to the back store room that she needs an employee on the floor for about fifteen minutes. Three attempts were needed by this lady to coax someone from the back. When "my cousin Vinny" finally shuffled out from the back he was totally displeased to entertain a customer. "Vinny" looked at the club, sucked his teeth, made a face and asked why do you want to replace the shaft, why not buy a used club which definitely showed his disdain of having to do a little work. "Vinny" the leech reluctantly took the club to his lair and stared at it while making his pissy/cranky face until I had enough and felt he needed to go back to smoking and joking in the back room where he definitely wanted to be. There was no way I was going to trust this lazy fool with working on my driver. After feeling like a second class citizen after "Vinny" speaking down to me I was out of there. On the way out I figured I'd let the "manager" know of the disgusting treatment by what an embarrassing representative of golf galaxy or golfshit, whatever it's called. She did not care. Just go to a true golf professional at a course or pro shop!! First attempt at using this store and I was reminded as to why I haven't tried it yet. Blowsssssssss!! read more

NORWALK, CT I went into the store with never having been there before, just to pose a question about some clubs I had that are a few years old that had some known problems by the manufacturer. I asked the Sales Manager if there was anyone I could speak to that may be able to give me some guidance, POSSIBLY. I had no expectations. Jeff from the Norwalk store got on the phone with the manufacturer. Seemed to be going well, maybe I could get a few of my irons replaced!? Jeff hung up the phone and didn't seem that happy as I thought he should be in that the conversation seemed to be going very well. He was having some fun with me, as it turned out he convinced the manufacturer to replace my full set of irons with a brand new set, this years model. Store seemed nice, clean, folks that greeted me were professional and ready to help. It was slow as it's midday, late fall in CT, but I doubt it would have made a difference if they were busy. Folks that greeted me came up to me as I was looking at the irons that were on their way to me just to see how I made out. Great experience, I'll be taking the half hour drive for all of my golf needs. read more

It is very disappointing to drive to a store that should be staffed appropriately to conduct business and they can't even perform a club regripping without leaving it for 3 days. Come on guys. I paid a recent visit to Golf Galaxy. I have been coming to this location for the past few years and have given them quite a bit of business across the board: clubs, putters, grips, apparel, shoes - but this last visit, I was trading-in a bunch of clubs and hoping to earn enough of a credit to purchase a new driver to start off 2020 with. Dillon helped me. I remember him from prior visits. He has a very nice disposition/demeanor. I explained what I wanted to do - and he very patiently and painstakingly went through the process of looking up every club up on the PGA trade in site which most major retail stores use as their benchmark for assigning a dollar value to used clubs based on their age/condition. After the trade-in was complete and I was given my store credit, he and I moved into one of the bays and I hit the Ping 410 with different shaft combinations and lofts. As expected, Dillon was not only knowledgable about all of the latest drivers but clearly had performed numerous fittings in the past and knew from looking at my swing - based on my swing speed, etc. what the correct head/shaft combination in terms of loft, shaft kick-point/flex/weight suited me best. He was extremely patient, never pushy, never with an attitude nor did he try to rush me. I bought the 410 with a lot of confidence and have played twice with it with a ton of success. It flies exactly as it did on the sim, which I've always had my doubts about for some reason being somewhat of an old-school outside demo-er of clubs. Bottom line - this store provides value, service and a ton of knowledge across the staff. There isn't one person I've worked with in that store that didn't know their stuff inside and out about anything I've asked them. Worth the trip - ignore the other reviews. Scott H. read more

As I open the door I'm greeted by what looks like Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys. I quickly realize my mistake, as this gentleman possesses half of Brian's Social competence. He opens his greeting by reminding me the store closes at 6pm and I'll have only nine minutes to browse. I jog to the back of the store, realizing if I want to check out the shoes and still have time to buy tees I'm going to have to hustle. No need to worry, as I run into Sloth from the goonies and his buddy Sid Barrett, both apparently employees of the store, who remind me that I've now got only eight minutes left to shop. At this point, I let them know that I'm aware of the time and when the store closes. Sid counters poignantly that "there have been people at the store all day, and we really want to go home." After about thirty more seconds I realize I've over stayed my welcome and I'll have to use the free tees at my home course vs. the extra long ones I've grown to love. read more

For the record, I shopped this place on-line exclusively, although they have many locations throughout the country. As a novice golfer (on a good day when the wind is going in the right direction and I wake up on the right side of the bed), I'm always a little hesitant to buy anything extra... after all, *all* of the ski stuff I *had to have* is now collecting dust, same with the ice skates, the roller blades, the tennis racket....ah, but I digress. This website is set up well, where you can select women's or men's, right or left-handed items right off the bat (handy for the left-handed golfer like myself... have any left-handed golfers out there gone into a pro shop and asked for something? You'd think you were Bigfoot and they just spotted you for the first time or something...) They have incredible deals (note the white (and, ahem, pink) golf shoes) I bought yesterday on closeout for 75% off the Adidas website price. The women's selection (which is really the only thing I perused) was outstanding, with some cute items, unlike most of the stuff you find in local shops (which can only be labeled as geriatric at best). Apparently you can pickup at the store (if you live near them I suppose) and make sure to sign up for the rewards program. It's free and they just sent me a coupon for 15% off my next purchase. I went in for a putter fitting and my man Jack took me through the works. On top of showing me a variety of putters, he helped me with my swing, reading greens and life in general. Excellent customer service. I will be coming back and I'd recommend the store to anyone. read more

I was hesitant to come here due to the horrific Yelp reviews. I don't know if it's just the stereotype that Golf consists of a lot of rich grumpy old men or if this store just got better recently. I went in to get my driver shortened and to replace a grip on my putter. I think unless you are a touring pro or extremely particular and require supreme precision (and are willing to pay for it), then this place will serve you just fine. My driver was shortened and my putter was regripped in just a few minutes. It did not take long at all and the guy who did the work was very friendly and polite. If you need something complicated and have the time and the money then perhaps you should go to a specialist, maybe. I was glad I chose to come here and will likely come here again when I need anything else Golf related. If you absolutely must have the best of the best and are willing to pay up for it, then there's a place in Stamford but the parking there sucks and I take it that it's a lot more expensive. Here it was just quickly in and out and done. What more could I ask for? read more

New to the sport and came here based on an old recommendation of Scarsdale golf-smith. Apparently GolfGalaxy bought out the old stores... Bo was excellent help and I had great time working with him. He spent a lot of time working with me, coaching me on my swing and working with a budget. I'm a big guy and need extra length; he really did an excellent job helping me out. The store experience wasn't the greatest due to inefficient checkout but Bo made sure I'll be back again! Large selection and helpful staff! read more

Dropped off a broken club that they where supposed to send back to taylormade. Waited three weeks for a call and never received one. I contacted them. They said they hadn't sent it out that they would send it out right away. Waited another three weeks and went to the store. They never sent the club out. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Not happy with this store at all. I showed up yesterday at 11am. The lady up front was nice and she said someone in the back would be able to help me. I went to the back and the employee was helping someone else so i started hitting balls in one of the two hitting bays. That employee helped me to start the computer so that i could see my logistics. There were 3 gentleman working when i got there and myself and the first person being helped in the hitting bay were the only people there. About 20 mins in i still had not been asked if there was anything they could help me with. I was then asked to go to a different bay because a different employee was helping someone else for left handed clubs. So i then went to a different hitting bay and hit balls until 11:55. Not once in the hour that i was there was i approached and asked "Is there anything we can help you with"? When i was leaving i saw the first employee on his phone in the back. Not a good experience at all for anyone who is looking for information or looking to buy something. read more
