On 5/11/21 I received an auto reply from Golftec thanking me for my interest in lessons. The email goes on further to say that a GOLFTEC certified coach or staff member would call me to get started. As of 7/27/21 (more than 75 days later), I have not received a follow up call or email in response to my initial inquiry. I was in town with family to attend the US Open of golf at Torrey Pines. The following morning, felt the urge to get a lesson. I knew Golftec offered scheduling lessons when traveling and was able to find this location near our hotel and connect with Scott Friedli early Monday morning. I had such a good time with Scott! I have to say he is a better communicator than my regular coach at Golftec in Irvine, CA. Honestly, I wish I could travel the 1 hour down the I-5, just to continue lessons with him. At the risk of processing too many swing thoughts, we discussed the following: Hand position at P-2 on my takeaway creating space adjacent to my thigh. Hip sway & hip rotation synchronization at P-6. Forward shaft lean at impact P-7. He also showed me a small drill removing the index and thumb to demonstrate a passive right hand on the downswing, helping to create more shaft lean and de-loft the club head. Thanks so much! A dominant right hand always wants to do more work! Lastly, his ability to reference pros such as DJ or Morikawa, allowed me to use their swings as a point of reference. I think overall the instruction is very helpful. My instructor was very knowledgeable. Watching yourself swing and having swing analysis which is visual is great. My gripe is that lesson package that was sold to me was: 30 minute lesson & 30 minute practice after. Half the lessons booked never had a corresponding solo practice after the lesson because they were booked for another lesson. Few times when I did have private practice I was ushered out because the bay was double booked and they had another person coming in for a lesson. read more

I really wanted to like this session and had all the makings to be a great golf lesson. Unfortunately my instructor was somewhat belittling, it seemed he was more concerned about future lessons and getting more money. For a 60 minute session, he primarily criticized my swing the majority of the time, and honestly could have done more teaching and drills. I did come away with good drills moving forward but my instructor seemed more worried about me coming back for another lesson which felt like he was withholding information for another lesson. read more

I have decided to finally write my review after my experience with GolfTec. To begin I usually shoot 95-105. I've been playing golf on and off for about 8-10 years. I've also been to two other local golf coaches taking one hour lessons. At Golftec I got a package deal with multiple lessons and the first three lessons were really good. No major swing changes were made but I was told to keep my balance which helped a lot. The video was also helpful in understanding my swing. However, about the forth lesson things started to go downhill. My body could not do what they wanted me to do, and I just didn't understand their training aids. For example, there is an exercise to keep your arms connected. Some instructors use a cloth tucked under both underarms to teach this. I was given a ball that I was supposed to hold between my forearms, but it was such an awkward position that I just didn't get it. Later on my coach asked me if I was improving and I said, "No", in a very friendly way. He asks me why and I didn't want to tell him because I did not want to disappoint him. But, he insists and I tell him I felt like there was too many swing changes. I was hoping we could talk it out and work together on my swing, but instead he was very stern with me, almost yelling, and told me I could no longer come in to practice unless I was doing the exercises. This was strange because I paid for a golf package worth more than $2000 that included unlimited video practice. When I bought the package I was told their office was now my home, so I felt a little uneasy when I was told I could no longer come in unless I was doing the exercises. He tells me I need to do 1000 short quarter swings, and I was not allowed to do a full swing while at GolfTec. He leaves the room and then comes back to apologize and calls it "tough love". I am not used to paying someone to talk down at me. I figured he's the coach and he probably knows best. So I come in everyday for a week for about an hour and a half and hit about 150-200 short swings. At this point I was really determined to do what coach tells me. I wanted to improve. Then my bro calls me up to golf and I played one of the worst rounds of golf ever. I told my bro I was going to quit golf. That's when I knew Golftec wasn't for me because I was no longer having fun. Golftec tried to be nice and offered me a new coach but I said no. I no longer felt comfortable going there. Doing 1000 short swings in a warm room can do that to you. One other thing I found disappointing at times was that GolfTec can get busy. So if you set up an appointment the coach may be running from room to room so they can coach everyone at the same time. Sometimes you have to wait. If you hire a traditional coach for 30 min elsewhere you are most likely guaranteed to get his/her full attention for every single swing. The video feedback system is there if you are alone, but I use this on days when I have only practice and no coach. I considered giving GolfTec four stars because Golftec forced me to play more often so I actually got a hole-in-one at Tecolote golf course. It was an ugly hole-in-one that came off flat, bumped off the neck of the fairway, onto the front of the green, and into the hole. I was happy. Maybe this is one additional star? Also, I admit that GolfTec can be helpful, but maybe it just wasn't for me. I actually recommended Golftec to my brother for a fitting, which he bought new clubs from. I would recommend Golftec for the first 2-3 lessons since the video seemed helpful to understand how your body moves. I took a break from golf but I am now playing again and having fun. read more

Even though there are many franchises all using the same teaching system, the variable will be your individual instructor. On that point, John Cooper is the man! He knows what he's talking about and is able to convey his teaching points in an easy to grasp manner. The guy will make sure you have a fun time during your lessons and learn while you're at it. Anthony Burandt and the crew at Golftec have saved my golf game. I took a year off from playing due to frustration of not being able to hit the ball cleanly. My average score had ballooned to 102, and the sport stopped being fun. I had tried taking lessons in the past, and had not found any success with them. I had heard good things about golftec, and decided to give it a try - and I'm glad I did. The video analysis and swing metrics are invaluable. It took a lot of repetitions, and a lot of patience from Anthony, but after 6 months of hard work, I have seen huge improvements in my game. I had broke 90 only 1 time over my past 60 rounds (covering 3 years). Now, in my past 10 rounds, I have broken 90 - 6 times! Aside from bringing my scoring average down 15-18 strokes, I am making solid contact consistently for the first time in years. Golf is fun again! The only drawback I found with the golden triangle golftec facility was the size of their hitting bays. I am a left handed player, and only 1 of their 3 bays is large enough for me to use (there isn't room for them to put the cameras in the correct spots in the other 2 bays). This made it difficult to schedule practice time on occasion - but the staff was very helpful, and always did everything they could to accommodate me. Golftec is a little pricey, but if you are serious about improving your golf game, specifically your ball striking it is well worth the money! Surprised that after 1 practice swing, the teacher,Anthony, conducted a 20 minute lecture comparing my granddaughter to a lady pro using a dual view video!! To me there needs to be more swinging and hitting he ball to SEE the players style and not a Ph.D. level lecture on the Theory of the Golf Swing. There is a place for video feedback correctly done Was told lecture is free IF we bought a golf package. minimum of 4 lessons. To me you are better of with a more practical method of learning the golf swing, likely on the tee with a pro...called building muscle memory and seeing cause and effect on the ball with the golf swing. I came here for an evaluation and worked with Tim K. In less than an hour he was able to diagnose a major flaw in my swing. When I walked in I was carrying my 6i 130, when I left I was hitting my 9i over 140 total yards with a nice draw. His energy and knowledge were apparent within minutes of meeting him. I quickly signed for for a package and came in for a practice. Unfortunately some unforeseen personal issues came up and I had to abruptly cancel before my first official lesson. Golftec was understanding and refunded me the prorated amount and only charged me for the evaluation. I am extremely grateful for their understanding and I am very much hoping I can return in a few months to work on my game. I highly recommend Golftec. I've been golfing for 15 years off and on shooting below 99. 84 was my best round and I could always count on having a few great shots. But when I had 3 weeks off between jobs and golfed everyday only to find I wasn't getting any better I made the decision to learn HOW to get better by not just playing over and over. So far I have had 5 lessons with more than a dozen left on my package and I really enjoy it. The facility is very nice, machines are accurate and easy to use and the best part is the coach/pro Tim who works with me and knows my swing and ability better than I do. He has taught me each part of the swing and how they work together. I now work on the right things when I play and best part, I feel confident working on them on the course! I don't abandon the lessons because they actually work like I have in the past. Anyhow, if you're thinking about it, do it. Try it out. I've been playing golf on and off for about 10 years. Took a few lessons in the beginning and caught the golf bug immediately. I shoot in the high eighties and thought I'd try GolfTEC to help me improve my score. I liked their approach of taping your swing and breaking it down, frame by frame. I met with Chris for a swing evaluation last week and I can tell you GolfTEC is definitely more rewarding than taking lessons from your club pro. I watched video of my swing in all phases, takeaway to follow through, and compared it to many different pros' swings. The still images of our swings side by side helped illustrate the correct techniques to achieve solid ball striking every time. Chris recommended a few fixes for my flaws and now I have access to video and audio of my experience to view over and over again. I'm already starting to see an improvement in my ball striking just from one evaluation. GolfTEC has many flexible lesson packages to help you attain your goals, from a few lessons over a few weeks up to 15+ lessons over one year. You can take lessons for chipping/pitching and putting too. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is easy to get to and the hours are convenient (open til 8pm). I highly recommend GolfTEC to anybody who is serious about improving their score! Maybe someday they could license their technology to the video game platforms like Xbox Kinect. I love golf again and it's because of Michael Blinco and the team at golf tec. Last year I almost gave up on the game, I was playing well and all of a sudden all I could hit were hosel rockets. I mentally tried to remember all the different tips I had learned from other lessons or golf schools I had attended and nothing helped. So I saw a commercial for golf Tec and their swing analysis program and having nothing to lose went and saw Mike. I wasn't cured after that first meeting but Mike put me on the path to better golf. Mike is a great instructor and the lessons keep building on what I'm doing right and trying to minimize my old bad habits that other instructors never told me about. Also what I love is that I can go home and watch videos of my lessons and read the notes of the drills I should be practicing on the range. I still login and watch my swing progression from that first swing analysis to my swing after lesson 15. I've had at least 4 different instructors, went to a 3 day golf school and watched a hundred YouTube videos and nothing compares to my golf Tec experience. I have been working with Anthony Burandt at GolfTEC Golden Triangle in UTC since late March 2018 and it's been THE BEST investment I have made in my golf game. I decided to invest in golf lessons after realizing my golf game had plateaued. After researching multiple options for golf instruction in my quest to improve my golf game I decided to go with GolfTEC. Their approach to the golf swing is top notch. And when you break down everything that they have to offer, you are receiving top quality golf instruction, access to their facility for practice, and measurable data to track your progress at a reasonable price. During the initial swing evaluation, Antony and I first spoke about my current golf game (what I want to improve on, my big "miss", etc.) as well as my handicap index goals. He then had me swing a few times in the simulator with the bio-mechanics harness and evaluated my swing. He identified major aspects of my swing that needed work. In a very methodical fashion, he drafted up a game plan of what would be needed to reach my goals. After the evaluation, I gave it a few days of thought and decided to invest in a swing lesson package. What sold me was that the lessons would be driven by data and technology and of course having Anthony (who is very knowledgeable and easy going) as my swing coach. I'm currently taking one lesson every other week. During each lesson, Anthony will review and evaluate my progress from the previous lesson. He will also talk to me about how my golf swing is feeling, if I'm having a "miss" that seems to be problematic and also answers any other questions I may have for him. Assuming I've made good enough progress from the previous lesson, we then focus on a new change in the swing. When picking something new to work on, Anthony is great in identifying.... 1. WHAT I need to improve/correct (using slow motion video of my swing and a side by side comparison to a tour pro) as well as the bio-mechanic harness which can be set to offer audible feedback. 2. WHY the correction is needed (theory of the golf swing explained on white board and also demonstrated by Anthony). 3. HOW do I make adjustments to get me where I need to be (what thoughts I should focus on to make a correction). All of the new changes that we have made have tracked well with the initial game plan that Anthony designed during my swing evaluation. By the end of a lesson, we have incorporated the changes made to my swing. He then shows me a side by side video analysis of my old swing (start of the lesson) to my new swing (end of the lesson). There is usually a huge difference in the before/after swings. It is a real confidence builder in showing me I have the potential of owning a great golf swing. It also serves as motivation for practicing and dialing in what I've learned in preparation for my next lesson. A note regarding new swing changes, Anthony's approach is that after he explains and shows me how to make the adjustments, he has me describe what I'm doing in my own words. He then documents both his instruction as well as my own words in the notes. Which have served to be valuable when I am practicing in between lessons. The lesson is then archived on the GolfTEC website and is available for me to review at any time with my member login. In addition to all of my archived lessons, Anthony recommends GolfTEC videos of drills and exercises to work on to help supplement the lesson. These videos are also available through the member login. These online tools have really been helpful for both learning and dialing in new swing changes as well as a reference point when I find myself going back to old bad habits. The learning environment is great. No intimidation at all as each lesson is conducted in a private bay. The flexibility on hours and availability of their facility for practice sessions in between lessons has been great. Overall I have been extremely pleased with the instruction that Anthony has given me at GolfTEC. So far, I have received 5 lessons in addition to my initial swing evaluation and have already seen a huge improvement in my game. I bought the 25 lesson package over 12 months. My initial handicap index was 24.1 (Shooting in the mid 90's.... ). I will make sure to update this review and post my new handicap after my lesson package has been completed. I am getting back into golf after over 2 years of not even swinging a club. I was shooting in the nineties at my peak and I am so pumped about my investment with Golftec. I figure if I want to get decent at golf I might as well do it right so Andrew at Golftec helped me out with a swing assessment and fit me for new clubs. I will be taking lessons for the next 6 months at least and Andrew helped me put together goals for what I am looking to get out of my investment of both time and money which I really liked. As others have said the technology is cool with being able to watch yourself swing so you can work on things. Also, they have a brand new toy that shows your shots on an actual course - looks really similar to Tiger Woods for playstation. Really cool. When you consider the personal attention you get from pros, the access to lessons, drills and film of yourself online and the practice sessions you can book (save money instead of going to the range all of the time) it really is a good deal if you are looking to improve your game. That being said, it would be cool if golftec had some partnerships with local driving ranges and courses for a little discount on the rate - it would motivate me that much more to practice. I've been getting into golf very recently. I've practiced on a driving range for about a month now. I've had marginal results in my eight attempts at a driving range. Finally, I decided to try and look around for some lessons to make sure I start the game right. Initially, I looked into coaches at the Torrey Pines Golf Course. They were pretty expensive for what you get which were $600+ group sessions on the course. Then I looked at GolfTEC and saw their promotion for a swing analysis session. I figured this would be a good way to really start to improve my golf skills. It also cost $99 since they had a promotion. Neil Gram was the coach I talked to and he was very friendly and upbeat about teaching beginners. I wasn't expecting the high caliber of equipment that they have! I'm very glad I stopped by to do the evaluation. You probably cannot get this level of visual and mathematical analysis anywhere else. I believe this is essential to really improving your golf game the best way! Not only do you get access to this equipment, but the private lesson that I had with Neil was fantastic! He was a great teacher! He was able to explain the flaws in my swing and offer feedback and tips the same day. During your lesson, you get the full, undivided attention of your coach. By the end of the day, my swing was so much better! I was so happy with the results that I got from this one session! I wish that I had gone here much sooner. I learned so much from this one session than all of my practice and time spent online looking at guides and videos. If I had the setup that GolfTEC has, I would barely leave my house! It is addicting to use the resources that they have. It is like seeing yourself like a professional on television when they use a swing analysis on players such as Rory McIlroy. The turning point for me to love GolfTEC was Neil's teaching, love of the game, and motivational skills. The equipment is really nice but getting along with your coach is such a major factor in getting effective instruction. I value this more than anything else. Ask for Neil if you are even remotely interested in going here! I am going to be doing the 6 month improvement plan. It's a really great value for what they offer. You can use the equipment as long as it's free. That means your own private driving range with fact-based evaluation! GolfTEC and Neil do great work. I have had lessons from both Patty and Craig, and both are very good at diagnosing swing flaws and providing an effective way to fix them. Having the video analysis available throughout the lesson is critical. However, a golf lesson will only be as effective as your instructor, regardless of which tools are availabe, and they are excellent. read more

Got Neil who was great. Great staff and system, prepaid group lessons not cheap, but good. Weird location above resturants but gave me good spot o eat after driving balls for 30 mins. I decided I wanted to learn to play golf this year. I bought clubs, went to a driving range, and could barely make contact with the ball. That experience made me realize that golf is harder than it looks on TV, and I definitely needed lessons. So that's when I turned to Tim Keenan at GolfTec in UTC area. Thanks to my lessons with Tim K, I have gone from not knowing how to hold a club or hit the ball, all the way to having a pretty nice swing and being able to hit my shots consistently straight. Seriously - the level of improvement I have had in the few months of lessons is dramatic - like night and day different. Here's what is super cool about GolfTec and Coach Tim: :: LESSONS with VIDEO and SWING Play-by-Play Analysis The lessons are super high-tech (thus the name golfTEC), using a really good video and sensor system - every swing you take is recorded at two different camera angles, plus sensors are measuring the angles of your shoulders, hips, and the club head angle and club speed striking the ball. Based on all that sensor data, the flight of the ball is simulated and you can see exactly how far the ball carried, how far it rolled, how far it curves to the left or the right, and where on the fairway the ball lands. All that information can be analyzed on each swing, and you and Tim can play back each swing, where he does a "John Madden" style markup on the video screen, drawing lines and boxes to show you how to correct your shoulders, head, backswing, etc. You can replay any swing you want to in slow motion, frame by frame, or regular speed, to see what you are doing. Then after he shows you what to focus on in the next swing, you can instantly see the results, and he can do a side-to-side video comparison of your before and after so that you can see what you should be doing vs what you should avoid and be mindful of not doing. I used to not be able to make contact consistently, and when I did, the ball went way into the rough. Now I can hit the ball straight down the middle of the fairway pretty much every time. I realized that continuing to do the same things and expect differnet results,- I believe is one of the definitions for being slightly nuts. So I went to them for a Swing Evaluation ($95.) It was absolutely the best ninety-five "golf dollars" that I have ever spent. Thanks to the insights and very personable communications skills of Anthony Burandt, I was able to see very quickly and precisely three (3) aspects of my swing that could use some changing. Anthony explained to me that there is a very good reason that there is a recognizable similarity in the swings of the touring pros over the past five years. - Basically, today's "ideal" swing has been simplied so as to reduce the chance for errors. (i.e. virtually no lateral movement on the backswing - my problem) When he put my swing side-by-side and moment-by-moment, next to a given pro, - as he explained in detail, I was able to recognize what I needed to do in order to improve. I have been taking golf lessons for years with varying degrees of success. Since I started taking lessons at GolfTec, I have gone from shooting in the low 90's to shooting in the low 80's. My handicap has fallen from 16 to 11, and I have finally broken 80. The videos they take of my golf swing and then play back at super slow motion have allowed me to see what the flaws are in my swing and how to correct them. My coach, Mike Blinco is amazing! John Cooper was amazing. It is the best club fitting I have ever had. He was patient, knowledgeable, and you could tell how much he cares to get it just right for you. His ability to make club and shaft suggestions made the fitting the best use of time. Played several rounds with my new clubs before writing this review. I couldn't be happier. i recently participated in a swing evaluation with Neil at Golftec Golden Triangle. I was extremely impressed with way the evaluation was done and even more with the results of the corrections he assisted me with.
