GOLTEC has no problem flooding my inbox with marketing emails, but apparently following up on my initial inquiry has proven to be a challenge, I guess ‍

If you're a beginner, I think that's sufficient for a driver shot. They also have huge fencing on the sides so you be sure that your balls will never fly out of the range, but if it does it won't hit anything but trees and grass. The only downside is subset of the stalls have some light shading overhead. I would imagine they get little foot traffic during peak summer hours. The range has spacious ample parking and it has never been a problem. I think a bigger problem might be finding a stall during peak hours.

The ball dispenser uses an app, which you can preload to get bonus credit. I never had any issues with it. I also never had any other issues while practicing here. So I didn't have a reason to interact with any of the staff. There's plenty of parking, even when it's busy. If they put up more shade then it would've met all of my needs.

Watching the hang gliders soar overhead while you're playing makes the experience even more memorable. The South Course is definitely challenging, but that's part of what makes it so much fun. You can tell you're playing on a course that's hosted major championships, yet it's still a public course that anyone can experience. Every hole feels unique, and you'll find yourself stopping more than once just to take in the scenery. After the round, we ate at The Grill at Torrey Pines overlooking the course. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and relaxing on the patio with those incredible golf course views was the perfect way to end the day. The Grill at Torrey Pines is absolutely worth checking out if you're playing a round. (Wish I took more photos) Whether you're a serious golfer or just love visiting iconic courses, Torrey Pines is an unforgettable experience. It pains me so much to leave this review…read more Extremely disappointed by how a battery assault incident was handled by the Torrey Pines supervisor Jack. Torrey Pines has been my favorite golf course in San Diego. As a San Diego resident, I could not be more disappointed by what happened today and, especially, by how the situation was handled by the Torrey Pines supervisor, Jack. During my round, another player became involved in a heated disagreement with us. The situation escalated, and he physically assaulted me with his putter, forcefully striking me in the chest. I did not retaliate. I left the situation and called 911 to report that I had been assaulted. Police responded, along with emergency personnel, and documented the incident. The responding officer provided me with a police report number and told me that I was being treated as the victim of a misdemeanor assault and battery. Afterward, I went to the pro shop because I wanted to understand what action the course would take regarding the other player. I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply wanted to know whether the player would be removed from the course after a physical assault had been reported. Unfortunately, my experience with the supervisor, Jack, was extremely disappointing. I initially spoke with him at the pro shop, and he told me that the course had not yet made a decision and that he would get back to me. I later called the pro shop twice to follow up (1 got through) because I had not heard anything. I was simply trying to understand what action, if any, the course was taking regarding the other player. Instead of addressing that question, Jack told me that I was being "pushy" and accused me of "harassing" him. He also brought up the number of police officers and emergency personnel who had responded, as though that was something I had requested or controlled. I had simply called 911 to report that I had been assaulted by a single individual ; I had no control over how the police or emergency services chose to respond. The conversation ultimately ended with Jack telling me that he did not want to "deal with this anymore" and hanging up the phone on me. I understand that there may be conflicting accounts of an incident and that management may need to follow a process before making a decision. I also understand that the course may not be able to disclose every detail of its decision-making process. What I found deeply disappointing was the lack of support and the way I felt my concerns were dismissed after I had reported being physically assaulted. I've attached a screenshot showing my two calls to the pro shop, made simply to follow up on what decision the course had made regarding the other player. For doing so, I was accused of "harassing" the supervisor. Torrey Pines is a City of San Diego municipal golf course, and I expected a much more professional and supportive response from the management of a public facility. This is especially disappointing because Torrey Pines was previously my favorite course in San Diego. After this experience, I no longer feel comfortable returning.

I walked into the shop to buy some balls and the staff, although friendly, I could barely understand them. They directed me outside to the ball machine that was automated. It's really expensive. 50 balls for nine dollars. It's kind of outrageous. The mats are worn, and old I had to endure a golf lesson next to me and the woman brought her dog which barked the whole time which was absolutely ridiculous. No management of the practice area from the staff. I wanted to putt some balls, but people took it over with their kids. Again, no management from the staff. I will never come back here and you shouldn't either.

Coach Brian has been coaching my son for nearly 6 years, starting at the age of 5. During that time, my son has, most crucially, developed a genuine love for the game. We selected Brian based on his reputation for working with and developing youth golfers, and Brian has far exceeded our expectations. Getting a young golfer to show up every week and pound balls on the range for an hour is no small feat, but Brian consistently found a way to make it fun, engaging, and, importantly, very productive. Brian continually encouraged my son and struck an expert balance between strict, structured instruction and casual, fun engagement. The net result has been that my son has grown into a truly talented little golfer at only the age of 10. He can play Torrey Pines South course from the forward tees and get the ball around the course with adult golfers with zero difficulty. Brian encourages my son to watch golf and study specific golfers and my son does it with zeal. Brian is a talented professional and a very special person. I felt at ease and comfortable with Brian at the very first lesson. I am a retired senior who had always wanted to play golf, but waited until I was 70 to do it. I have been taking lessons with him for over two years. I enjoy his never ending bag of teaching techniques! He uses the latest video and software technology so I can see what is happening as I swing the club. I particularly like that he emails me a video clip from each lesson which helps me visualize what we are working on. He is patient, kind and lots of fun! Just starting to learn and Brian was recommended by a friend. My wife and I had an introductory (private) lesson and have been doing the clinics Brian holds which are a great value. Since the balls are free it's a perfect tune-up lesson for a fraction of the cost of an individual session. Brian stays familiar with what you need to work on so you make continuous improvement. On every lesson or clinic, you get video analysis posted to Brian's web site, http://brianbobbitt.com/ , so you can review between sessions. Brian has a nice approach teaching the game along with the skills. He is fun to work with and the lesson time goes by way too fast. Hello, I had been golfing for 3 years taking lessons here and there and was always a fade hitter, with slice my miss. I resigned myself to that over the top type swing. I have been taking lessons from Brian for about 6 months now. When I had my first lesson, he asked "Dont you want to hit a draw?" I said sure but my previous trainers were not able to help me accomplish it. I was hitting a draw in about 20 minutes! I had an ultimate goal of shooting a 69 some day, but after 3 years had given up on it. About 3 months after taking lessons from Brian, I shot a 67! Wow was I excited. Brian is the absolute best. In one lesson with Brian, I felt like my swing improved... after two lessons, I felt like a real golfer. Brian literally changed my golf game and improved it significantly - shaved multiple strokes off my handicap and added distance on my drive. The fixes weren't major either, he is very practical - he didn't reconstruct my swing. Brian has the technology but also spots fixes naturally. He's just super experienced and thoughtful. Of all the money I invested/spent on golf, investing time with Brian was the best decision. And I would/will be seeing him more. Brian is a excellent teacher!!! Very patient and knowledgeable. I started the game of golf about 5 years ago and took lessons from other pros in the area without much success. After completing a six series, Brain has helped me lower my handicap from 28 to 18 in just six lessons. What really helped me was not only his years of teaching experience but his state of the art equipment that none of the other pros used. The launch monitor really helped me understand what my club was doing. I've been working with Brian off and on for a couple years. He has really helped my game. He knows the golf swing and can quickly recognize the areas that need improvement and communicate that to me effectively. One thing I really appreciate in Brian is his ability to improve my swing without having to break it down and re-build it from scratch. As we all know, golf is the most frustrating game on earth. Once you think you have it nailed, you get slapped across the face with the shanks. Brian Bobbitt saved my golf game. I was playing pretty well until all of a sudden I could not make solid contact. Within a few minutes of our lesson, Brian figured out the problem and showed me on video just where the issues were. In just my first lesson with Brian he was able to point out what I needed to fix with my swing, and I saw instant results. He captures all of your swings on camera so that he can easily show you what you need to change, and he shows you side by side comparisons to professional swings so that he can show you the difference. I've been golfing for a couple of years before I changed my golf coach to Brian. I have seen so much progress in my swing since I began getting lessons from him, thanks to his video cameras and his instructions. This week I went to see Brian about my problem with my sand wedge and short chipping. I was shanking the ball to the left. Within minutes he corrected the problem. My hands were coming in to high at impact and the swing was from outside in. He went above and beyond to educate and guide me through the process, and also make sure I was set up to succeed on the course. I will be sending friends/ family his way for fittings in the future and now have a go-to expert I can trust. Highly recommend.

I was impressed with how quickly he was able to diagnose my faults and the steps I needed to take to fix them. If I had to rank the top ten golf shots I've hit in my playing career, I would say they all came on days two and three of this golf school. It has made that much of a difference in my game. I plan to make an annual return visit as my game progresses.

This is a great short golf course on the east side of the 5…read more Pros: very affordable tee times. For $32, you can do a full 18 which are great holes to practice your short game but has plenty of options for long game practice. If you go to their twilight hours, it's $28 and even more affordable. They have a putting green and chipping green to help practice that before you begin. Parking is abundant and close by. You don't need a cart for this course and can walk pretty fast but carts are optional add ons. Cons: not much cons here as it was a great course! However, they do not have their own driving range. I went to the Del Mar range before to get a warm up. Verdict: if they had their own range, this would be five stars. A great affordable course where you can have loads of fun and practice your short game but have a chance to get your long game down too. I'd recommend coming here with friends and play a round at an affordable price!
