    Tonkotsu Light Chashu Garlic Oil

Server was sweet and kind. Their gyoza used a thicker skin so you won't get the typical crispy gyoza but regardless it's super juicy and delicious. Perhaps my favorite in the meal: I got their light tonkotsu with garlic oil. It honestly lacked flavor. It kinda felt like a glorified instant ramen. My husband got the tantan. That was the winner. I guess I should have known since their shop is named gomaichi. Their sesame is what they are proud of. The soup had so much more flavor. Next time I would try this or the chef's original.

You can join the waitlist through Yelp, though it wasn't necessary when we visited on a recent Saturday afternoon. Gomaichi is conveniently located in the same shopping center as Whole Foods, so there's plenty of shared parking available. I ordered the garlic tonkotsu ramen and added extra choy sum. The broth flavorful and the broth was hot in temperature, but surprisingly, I didn't taste much garlic. My husband decided to try the curry rice, but unfortunately, he found it a bit bland and underwhelming. I'd recommend sticking with the ramen here. Our group also shared a few appetizers, including the gyoza, miso eggplant, and cucumber salad. They complement well to our meal. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and welcoming, and our waitress was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer questions.

Fairly new spot. I had the TanTan ramen. Loved the noodle texture and the broth was rich without being salty. The Char Siu pork was tender without falling apart. Very attentive service by the staff. I need to come back to try their other ramens. Oh, I loved the spoon. It was a mini ladle making it a fun experience.

Everything was so good! The service was amazing and the waitress was so sweet. We ordered spicy garlic edamame and shrimp tempura roll for appetizers and they did not disappoint. The tonkatsu light ramen was my favorite. The broth was extremely flavorful. We will be back!

Came here for lunch to cure our hangover and it was our first time trying this place. We brought our service dog with us; at first we were told no, but after showing his service dog ID, they welcomed us in, which we appreciated. The place itself is very clean and well-kept, with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel relaxed. The service was good; attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Now let's talk about the food... it was so, so good. Exactly what we needed; flavorful, satisfying, and honestly hit the spot perfectly. This place definitely exceeded our expectations. VERDICT: I WILL COMEBACK

Hubby saw this new restaurant on Yelp and we came to dine here tonight. It's a little difficult to find since it is located in a corner of the Redondo Shores Shopping Center. If you are facing Whole Foods, head to the right of it. Parking is free and plentiful, but you may have to walk. The spaces are shared between all the businesses. There's a beautiful black and white mural. I was told that the Japanese portion represents the head chef's Japanese roots, the Hawaiian part is for their original location (Honolulu, HI), and the Hollywood, CA portion is for this location. I think it should have shown something unique to Redondo Beach, though. I looked up the meaning of the restaurant's name and basically it is translated to "Number 1 Sesame" or "First Sesame". The Tan Tan broth is Sesame based. We ordered: *Gyoza - scrumptious little dumplings packed with flavor *Small Salad - the dressing was very tasty *Tan Tan Ramen - hubby liked it, I just barely tasted it since I was eating my own bowl of ramen *Vegetarian Ramen with White Soy Broth - the flavor grew on me. It was a subtle creamy broth. I thoroughly enjoyed the veggies & tofu chunks. *Yuzu Cheesecake - very delectable! I think it was crustless. I really liked the thin layer of Yuzu. *Black Sesame Mochi - it was your typical grocery store ice cream mochi. Service was attentive & efficient. All the hot foods came out nice and hot while the cold foods came out at the proper temperatures. We both agreed we'd return. I'm sure we'll get the Gyoza & Salad again.

This restaurant was very clean and almost empty on a Thursday night, which we were happy about. I brought my husband here for his birthday since his favorite food is ramen. I read the description that it would be Hawaiian ramen, which sounds interesting! The unfortunate thing is that we have tried far too many ramen restaurants...and just a lot of restaurants in general. So we have high standards. For flavor, we give the ramen we tried a 4/10. It was very bland and not flavorful. We had to put some of everything they had on the table on the ramen to make it a 5/10. The appetizers (spicy cucumber and edamame) were very basic, and the spicy cucumber was very much soaked in vinegar. The service was very good though and the staff was welcoming and nice. The food was hot and fresh. Due to the lack of flavor though, we will never come back here again.

This some of the best ramen we have had in a very long time! The gyoza tasted handmade and it was probably my favorite thing on the menu. It is a must if you are coming here. Don't skip on it. My husband loved the California roll so much he had to get a second plate of it. Everything tasted handmade and the flavors were so good. We were completely stuffed. The place is super clean and modern and really transports you. I think what topped off our experience was the service. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind and attentive. This is now our new go to spot!

Excellent service! It was friendly and quick. Plenty of parking in the lot. The space is small, but they do have tables and a little bit of counter seating. The food was flavorful and rich. Great spot in Redondo!

Hello and Happy Grand Opening Gomaichi Ramen! It is no secret that I love ramen and I was so excited to learn that there is a new ramen spot in Redondo Beach. Today was their official grand opening and there was lots of fun, prizes and good food! For today's Grand Opening; Gomaichi Ramen had a fun spin the wheel game that featured a lot of good prizes like free ramen, free appetizers and discounted meals. Service was spot on despite them being pretty busy during the grand opening. They were very efficient and we got seated quickly. My friend and I each got a ramen. I got the Tan Tan Ramen ($17.95) and my friend got the Tonkotsu Light ($17.95). One of the things that I liked right away is that you can choose the main meat or veggie for your ramen. They have options of Minced Pork, Char Siu Pork, Chicken, Wakame Seaweed or Vegetables. Since Tan Tan Ramen typically comes with Minced Pork; I decided to choose that. The Tan Tan Ramen was great! It comes with the Chef's signature sesame based broth. I really enjoyed the soup. It had the perfect nutty flavor with the just the right hint of spice. Though it wasn't needed because the ramen was already quite flavorful; I added a bit of chili oil just for little more fire. Last but not least I loved the minced pork and the flavored egg. That flavored egg is true chef's kiss! This whole ramen was so tasty and I was quite pleased with my ramen of choice. I also tried my friend's Tonkotsu Light and loved the creamy, light pork bone based broth. The Tonkotsu Light definitely is on my list to get for a future visit. I will definitely be back! This ramen enthusiast is so happy to have a new ramen spot in Redondo Beach! Congrats on the grand opening Gomaichi Ramen!

I was excited to try this new ramen spot, especially given the high ratings. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and was underwhelmed. The broth was very bland, char siu pork had no seasoning and flavor to it. I also have never seen ramen with ginger on top before. Overall, I didn't think it really stood out at all. I really hate to give a mediocre rating because the service was great and the workers were very nice but unfortunately don't think I'll be coming back.

Came here twice during their soft opening to try the ramen--because once just wasn't enough. Nestled in the corner of the Redondo Shores shopping center, it's easy to miss with all the construction. They've got locations in Oahu and Japan, so you know they mean business. For a small space, they've made it work--clean, cozy, airy, and bright. We tried the char siu tan tan, sung hon men, and shoyu ramen, plus the karaage and spicy cucumbers. The karaage was crispy and delish! Appreciated the handmade noodles and the flavorful broth along with the char siu. Portion sizes? Just right--not too little, not a food coma, but juuust enough to leave you happy. Service was attentive and helpful! A solid ramen spot close by, especially perfect for those colder days when you need a hug in a bowl.

New restaurant in Redondo beach, went for their soft opening, kind of hard to find because it's still under construction, but when we found it, the place was super cute. We ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and the Sung Hon Men, along with char siu rice on the side and chicken. This place is still under soft opening but they still let us try them out, servers were friendly and gave us recommendations on what to try as they are still new. Definitely try this place out!

My family and I love to frequent here because we know what to expect. I will say on my latest visit, the ambiance was not it. Why? Well, because while everything else was on par, the music selection was highly inappropriate for a restaurant. Tupac's unedited Hit 'em Up was playing loud as we sat and ate, i had my kids with me. Look, I'm by no means a snowflake and hyper-sensitive to profanity-laced music, but this was completely unexpected at a family-friendly restaurant. The manager lady is amazing, charismatic, and highly memorable. They're full service, they packed my leftovers. The Highlight (Pork Rice Bowl): Generous portion of rice and incredibly tender pork. Mixing in the egg and mayo made the dish, became the highlight of my meal. The Perks: Their menu is simple and straightforward, and adding extra toppings to your ramen is actually relatively inexpensive. The Disappointment (Shacho Ramen): This was my first meal here without fried chicken, and the Shacho Ramen unfortunately fell flat. It completely lacked the complexity and depth I was looking for. The Broth: Had the rich, heavy sesame creaminess I demanded, but it was incredibly one-note outside of that. The Spice: Level 2 had no heat at all. I asked for a side of extra spice, which helped a bit, but didn't save the dish. The Noodles: Very bland.Ended up packing most of it away Verdict: Come for the great service, cheap add-ons, and excellent rice bowls, but pass on the Shacho Ramen.

This place is soo good. It was recommended to me by someone when I was asking for ramen recs in the…read morearea, and this had a lot of variety. We also picked it because the vibe and the interior looked really cool. It's a little weird because I think it's almost like self seating? But you still get service. The people there are super nice! I asked for a recommendation and I know it's always a gamble since people have different preferences, which the guy did caveat, but I followed what he said he usually eats on his break and I'm so glad I did! I like that the menu tells you the soup, sauce, and toppings for each item. It's wonderfully detailed. Tonkotsu miso: 9.5/10. Absolutely delicious. I think my only small thing is that my friend got certain toppings in his tonkotsu shoyu that I would've also liked in mine, but that's all. The broth was rich without being too heavy, thanks to the miso. On the flip side, the tonkotsu didn't overpower the miso. It was a good blend of both broths. The noodles are a bit thicker here - maybe medium - and it worked really well! Good texture and good level of doneness UFO dumplings: 8/10. The UFO dumplings were curved which is cool and slightly different from the versions I usually see at a Chinese restaurant. It's cute. At first bite, I was genuinely pleasantly surprised with how much flavor the skirt had. Dumplings were super moist. Not the most flavorful dumpling I've ever had, but pretty high up there. This place had a lot of good options and I want to come back to try the other ones. Somewhat small parking lot, but it's free.

Service is really polite, attentive. Nice to hear Japanese being spoken. Had the Tonkotsu Miso. A good portion and mix of broth, noodles, and pork. Good aroma and rich sauce. Plenty of parking in the lot. Get some ice cream next door when you're done!
