The portions were beyond generous and the Katsu Curry Bowl was exceptionally large - would be great to share. Perfect amount of spice in the Tonkotsu; the broths for both were silky, light, but deep in flavor. Another Yelper gave a shout out to the Shrimp Temura roll and it was delicious. This quaint little spot sits in a small strip mall on 182nd Street & Crenshaw right next to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Parking is decent, and the cozy interior gives it that authentic neighborhood ramen shop vibe, although I usually order mine to-go. My wife and I always order the Tonkotsu Ramen. The pork broth is absolutely incredible -- rich, creamy and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of saltiness poured over perfectly cooked noodles. Late night ramen joint in Torrance. I've probably driven by the place a thousand times but had no idea it even existed. Located in a strip mall, theres reasonable parking right outside. Lots of ramen choices but we decided to share a yamadaya tonkotsu and upgraded to the jumbo size since we both weren't super hungry. Still plenty of food. Soup was a bit salty but still decent. Pork was very tasty. The one thing that bothered me a bit was the fact that we were still halfway eating when the girl suddenly came out with our check and two cups of ice creams. Lady....we're literally halfway done! And they were not near closing time. By the time I got to my ice cream it was half melted...Really weird. Their bathroom is in the back. While waiting at the traffic light on 182nd street, the tiny ramen place with upside down sign in a small plaza caught my eye and we decided to make a U-turn and try the restaurant. Just a warning: check the restaurant's location first, if you miss the plaza entrance, you will need to take a big loop to get back to the parking lot (personal experience). Inside is quite cozy with mom-pop meshiya feel and seating for 20 guests max. Since it was early in the day, we got seated right away and the courteous waitress brought the menu and water pronto. After browsing through the extensive menu, we ordered the Special Ramen Combos with Yamadaya tonkotsu ramens, along with one side order of fried rice and another one of gyoza and rice. Yamadaya Tonkotsu Ramen: The portion was on the sensible side. The tonkotsu based broth was nicely creamy and savory. The thin style noodles had soft texture. The chashu slices were fried and crispy. The egg was fully boiled instead of runny. Fried Rice: The fried rice was slightly mushy and seasoning was on the light side. The sweetness from excess corns also kind of overpowered the overall taste of the dish. Gyozas: The wraps were slightly crunchy as if they were deep fried. The fillings were mildly seasoned which went well with the savory sesame shoyu dressing. The complementary vanilla ice cream was a nice way to round off the lunch. A friend recommend this place to my bf and I since my bf loves ramen. Super solid ramen joint with flavors that take me back to Japan. Creamy and rich broth, spiciness level was perfect for level 3. We dined inside for a late Monday lunch. Parking was super simple and while the restaurant was small, there was only one party inside. Service was slow, but friendly. Our ramen came out two at a time (not a big deal) and the appetizers came out with the meal. Between the five of us, we had the Tonkatsu, Vegan, and Chicken ramen. All were incredible -- some of the best ramen we've eaten!!! The broth was amazing and the noodles had a perfect amount of chew. The karaage was typical, but good. The avocado fries were huge and delicious, like something you'd eat at the county fair. At the end our meal we were given little vanilla ice creams -- an unexpected treat! Lastly, the restaurant has a bathroom, but you can't access it from the dining area (you'd have to walk through the kitchen) -- walk around the strip mall to the back and it has signs. The other stuff...not so much. Would highly recommend asking for THIcK noodles instead of the Angel string noodles provided. You can make your bowl jumbo size for an extra $7 which my brother from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program opted for(if you can't donate money to make our community a better place then donate your time because it will make you feel better while helping someone else). I was coming home late at night and did not want to cook and I searched yelp for late night Ramen and this place came up! Then my eyes lit up because I have walked by this place several times and always wanted to try it so it was meant to be. The food got here earlier than expected and right as I got home. I ordered a few things, I had to try their spam musubi. I got salmon roll on the side because through the food delivery app. it was buy one get one free. Then I got the vegan Ramen because the broths are slightly less rich but still really flavorful. Everything arrived well-made and still intact. The vegetables had actually been arranged beautifully in the bowl and then the broth was in a separate bowl. The spam musubi hit the spot. I am not used to it with egg, but it was a nice touch. I really enjoyed the salmon roll because the ratio of rice to salmon is really good and you get a lot of salmon. I love that they remembered the wasabi, soy sauce and ginger on the side so I could use it where I wanted to. The Ramen soup is packaged really well for transport and none of it spilled and it still stays warm. I don't know why, but I was surprised by how creamy it looked. I was really impressed when I opened up the Ramen bowl because the wide variety and quantity of the different vegetables was amazing - all piled on the noodles. After pouring the soup in, I took a bite of the noodles by themselves, the texture is great and the flavor is just noodles, but when you mix it up and eat the noodles with a bite of the bamboo or the seaweed or anything else it becomes amazingly flavorful! I eat everything and swallowed every bit of the broth and then sat on the couch because my stomach was so full. I can't wait to go back in person and other offerings from their menu! As of right now, my review is going to be 1 star because I ordered my 2 baked rolls at 1:08 and was told to give them about 10 minutes and here I am now still waiting for my to-go order at 1:41. I asked for an update 10 minutes ago and she told me that because it's baked, it will take a little while longer when the guy that took my order didn't mention that. My family and I randomly came here because I saw vegan options on the menu. It's a really small place. We were 9 people including a child and a baby in a stroller. We took one side of the restaurant haha. I was a little disappointed looking at the pricing of vegan ramen and they don't give protein in your bowl so I had to order extra tofu to be somewhat full. "Vegan topping" was $5, which is crazy. tofu was $2, which is doable I guess. They charge $15.50 for vegan ramen which is basically veggie broth, ramen, and a bowl of veggies. It's more expensive than the meat ramen. Veggie Soup is really less. I highly recommend adding tofu or spinach in there for more protein in the vegan ramen. My family liked that the spam musubi with egg and the takoyaki. Food was okay. Portions were small. Restroom was all the way in the back, but instead of going through the kitchen they send you to walk in the back. Parking lot is also very small but there's street parking available. read more

Delicious, hearty ramen with large portions including generous serving of pork in both the tonkatsu spicy ramen and yamadaya tonkatsu ramen. The eggs were over cooked but otherwise excellent. 5/5 for ramen flavor and portion sizes. Of note, the default is hakata style with classic thinner ramen noodles but you can also opt for thick noodles as well. This info isn't obviously included on the menu but on a poster in the restaurant (photo included). The karage was average, tasty but not standout. The chicken was not dry but also not particular moist or flavorful. Of note, the appetizer size of karage is twice as large as the ramen combo add-on (which includes rice or salad) so is overall a better value. 3/5. Chashu pork was the best I've ever had! So flavorful, perfectly seared, delightfully crisp, and decadently rich. I chose chewy thick ramen noodles for my spicy tonkotsu ramen bowl. I love the consistency of the thicker noodle so I'm glad they have that as an option. It's a generous serving of noodles and pork, so come hungry! It doesn't look like it but the sushi here is actually pretty good the only downside was when I ordered my food for pick up and asked for condiments they charged me extra even tho I purchased more than $50 worth of food and still asked for extra charge on condiments I thought that was crazy considered most sushi spots I've been too never charged me extra for it but like I said the sushi overall is good. I've been coming to this place for quite a while, but today's experience was very disappointing. The restaurant was not busy at all--only about six tables. We were seated quickly, along with another party that arrived at the same time. We were given menus, and then the server helped other tables but completely forgot about us. We waited patiently for almost 15 minutes while two staff members were chatting and laughing in the kitchen. During that time, we saw food being served to the same party that arrived when we did, while no one had even come to take our order. I eventually had to go to the counter to ask for help. While they apologized, it was frustrating that if I hadn't spoken up, we would have continued waiting. What made it worse was seeing the staff continue chatting instead of paying attention to the few customers in the restaurant. This was very disappointing, especially since I've been a regular customer. I hope management addresses this because the service today was unacceptable. read more
