A few cuts need to be made into the drywall but was very minimal and clean. Because the cut was done cleanly it is easy to reuse for patch and paint. I was on the lookout for an electrician for my parents to rewire their house and found Gomez Electric through here. I called for an appointment, got an estimate, and after about two weeks my parents decided to contract them. First of all, their prices are reasonable. Before Gomez Electric, we had gotten an estimate from Safeway Electric and besides their electrician being rude, he wanted to overcharge more than triple of what Gomez Electric offered for the same job. Gomez Electric was always professional. Always showed up on time and if they ever were running late, they made sure to call and let us know. It was never more than a 10-15 minute wait, though. They are bilingual in English and Spanish, which is always a plus. As far as the work done, for our house, it was surprisingly finished in one day in about 8 hours. Each of their workers (about 6 or 7) were organized and did great team work. They set up a 200 amp panel, which looks pretty neat. Inside the house, everything was updated up to code and even smoke alarms were added. My parents and I were extremely pleased with all the work done. The inspector even said the set up of the new panel was perfect, especially for the city I live in. I definitely recommend this company. They seem like good, honest, hard working people all around. I needed a panel upgrade and decided to give Gomez Electric the job since they came in with the medium bid. I was told don't ever go for the lowest bidder because they tend to cut corners and don't go for the highest because it seems like they over price. Long story short I spoke to Erik and I was told he was booked all week and he would call me if any customer cancelled. Got a call the very next day and the upgrade was completed within 30 hrs from the initial phone conversation. Very professional will use them again if needed. read more

During difficult times that's when you see peoples' true colors & integrity. I had an appointment with Orlando this morning for an estimate to remove 17 old emergency signs & install new signs at a retirement facility. I only asked him for a small favor without having any intentions to take advantage of him but to remove only (1) small exit sign in order to determine proper disposal. Orlando was strictly instructed to come out to my retirement facility to give an estimate & he was so professional & kind to do me a small favor to remove 1 small exit sign in which we had no idea tamper proof screws was imbedded holding the sign up causing such a hindrance. It took him nearly 30 minutes of his time & I offered to pay him a tip thinking it was a going to be a simple task. Orlando respectfully declined & I told him how much I genuinely appreciated his heartfelt gesture & that I pray that God will bless him & his family. I called this company for service and was told that it would be 75.00 for them to check and tell me what was wrong. And that the repairs would be extra and that was fine with me. But instead of doing that, he shows up tells my wife what I already told them what was wrong, no power going to my kitchen and bedroom and that it would be 350.00 to do a trouble shoot and that's not what I was told from the get go. So basically I paid him 75.00 for him to tell my wife what I already knew what was wrong. What a total bait and switch and such BS.. my suggestion, save your money and contact someone who is going to be up front from the beginning and not charge 75.00 to repeat to you what you already knew what was wrong. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and against their contractors license for charging me 75.00 for basically doing nothing. read more

I got them through Amazon Home Services. They arrived late and did not call. They gave an excuse that they didn't have the number. Since the number is connected to my Amazon account and another provider got the number I think it's on Gomez. Then they tried to claim that installing a new ceiling fan did not include wiring it to a switch. They quoted $250 to do this, which was more than the cost of the installation. Was able to get a quote right over the phone. Called on a Saturday. The electrician was at my home Sunday morning. Electrician was very polite and professional. He was able put replace a fan with no problem. When it came to the recess lights I had bought the wrong cans so he offered to go exchange them. Recess lights are now connected and look great. I am very surprised someone gave Gomez Electric a 1 star when they are definitely 5 stars. Mr. Alex Gomez who is the president of this company is very professional and fair in pricing. When my husband and I moved into our home and discovered that the house needed major electrical work in order for kitchen appliances and our washer machine to work at the same time we were very stressed because we had already compared prices with about five electrical companies close to our area (Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa and Manhattan Beach) the quotes that were given to us by these companies were extremely high. I decided to explore outside these areas and came across Gomez Electric. I asked if they could provide me with a free estimate for the problems I had just previously explained and so they did. Mr. Gomez came to our home spent a reasonable period of time about 1 hour I say and throughout his evaluation he didn't mind explaining what the problems were and basically what needed to be done to fix it. When Mr. Gomez provided a quote I was extremely happy because it was competitive to the other companies I had explored. Before accepting the quote I did ask for licensing information, once I verified their licensing I hired Gomez Electric for the job. From quote to completion it took them 3 days to finish (this included the first call, on site survey, quote, permits, completion of work and county inspection). All the work that was done was legal and up to electrical code and was inspected by county electrical inspectors. The county, my husband and I were very pleased with their work and we haven't had any problems to date. I am extremely shocked and even bothered that someone would judge an electrician base on what car they drive and how they are dressed; talk about judging a book by the cover. Can't say enough good things about this company! The lights in my living room had been flickering for weeks. I had already gone through another company who sent out an electrician and charged what i thought was a decent price. They fixed the problem only to have it start all over two days later. When i called back it took over 2 days to get a return call only to tell me i would be charged another service fee!! Since they did a poor job and had even worse customer service I decided to call Gomez electric after reading reviews. Called and spoke with one of the owners , had an electrician at my house that evening!! The guy was on time (almost never happens with me) looked around for about 30 mins and they gave me the price. It was less than the previous company and was able to get it taken care of right there.
