It was when I asked him to do an inspection to review the scope of work that he half heartedly opened a few outlets and said "ok, we're just going to replace them." In the end he gave me a quote verbally and never even sent me an actual quote that was promised. I would be extremely careful working with this company or choosing them for any high level electric work. If you review them on BBB or the California licensing board, you'll see that the owner is C-10 licensed but his workers are contractors who are working under his license. In comparing them to other electric companies in SGV in which the workers are licensed, this company uses just random contractors so the quality of your work varies.

A tenant an issue with an old outlet that was on the outside of the house. Fortunately there wasn't any electric fire or shorts at the house's electric panel. My brother put out a bid on Yelp to find a capable electrician who could replace it at a reasonable cost and we decided on taking a shot with J Powers Electric. They showed up at the time of the appointment which is a big plus in my book and they gave me an estimated time of completion barring any unforeseen complications. The current outlet was replaced with a brand new GFCI outlet with an in use weather cover and everything went smoothly and quickly. In fact, if you have a wild idea for something that is unnecessary or costly, they'll tell you up front so you know in advance. In addition to doing things the right way, they're respectful.
