First of all, they support the things I like - fishing derbies, Int Sportman's Expo, etc. Went there with my buddy who just bought and had installed a new outboard. These guys are pros! Been to a few repair places that looked like junkyards and the proprietor's made you feel like you had some time with them. These guys are all about providing the best experience for the boat owner. No upselling. No attitude. They've clearly invested in being the best and it shows. We live in San Bruno, but don't mind making a bit of a drive for service because it will be done right, on time, etc. So glad that they are here. read more

We highly recommend doing business with Gone Fishin Marine! To start off we previously have done business with the sister business (next door) at their Power Sports dealer. We were pleased to do business with them before so we didn't have to second guess reaching out to them about a boat as this time came around. Last Saturday we came in and purchased a new boat to gear up for next season. We were very appreciative of Mark, Jamie, and the ENTIRE team. Everyone we dealt with were extremely friendly, welcoming, smiling, and making sure the customer (us) had a great experience. Our process was about a little over week long in buying the boat; all 100% at our pace. There was absolutely no pressure at all. We first reached out to inquire about a purchase quote on our new Sanger V215 S. Over the next few days we explored financing (exploring all our options provided by Jamie). After we had a pre-approval we coordinated with Mark for us come by and take a look at the boat we were interested in. Finally, we arrived and they had the boat prepared for us to view. Fast forward, we happily got through finance and closed a deal. Again the entire process was smooth, no pressure, and we will happily bring our boat back for future service and any other business. We took my mom's boat out on the river and it stopped while on the river. We weren't sure what was wrong with her boat so she brought it here to be looked out. She found out it was a broken gas arm so we actually ran out of gas on the river. I'm so glad that was it. She was grateful they didn't charge her but she didn't like the fact there were 4 men working there but neither of them offered to help her hook her boat back up to her car (she is an older woman). Another customer walked over and helped her. She was shocked that she didn't get help from the employees. Just be mindful, being a woman. She can hook her boat up herself but to be an older woman, at least being offered the help would have been pleasant. We were blown away with how FANTASTIC Gone Fishin Marine of Dixon was. We have a Mastercraft wakeboard boat and this was our first time taking it to Gone Fishin. They were able to get us in very quickly (the next day), they got the repair done quickly (one day) and were so very kind and friendly! Yet another fail at Gone Fishin'! We have been taking our Mastercraft here for years and bought our pontoon from here but no longer giving this place anymore business. We recently took our Mastercraft for decontamination to put in Folsom. Dylan said they couldn't do it because the water intake was inline with the trailer. We told them they were able to do it from the inside hose in Tahoe years ago. Dylan said he couldn't figure it out and just tagged us for lake berryessa which we said we wanted the Folsom tag. No one at gone fishin cared or wanted to help us any further. Gone fishin has done fiberglass work on our Mastercraft so I asked if they could just lift the boat and Dylan said no they don't have the man power. Don't sign up for extra duties Gone Fishin if you don't have the man power or in fact know what you're doing. We then made an appointment the next day at a Folsom decon station and they were able to complete the inspection and find the hide inside. After all these years I'm not sold on their work or business, we will be finding a new place to service our boats. read more

I drove up from So. California to purchased our used 2018 Crest Pontoon boat from Gone Fishin Marine. Very easy transition.

The work done on my boat was good. I felt that they were a little slow in completing the work that was necessary. They also required a $1200.00 parts deposit prior to ordering the necessary parts to complete the job. I personally reached out to another repair facility and asked if they required a deposit prior to starting the repair. They informed me that they had possession of my boat which would act as collateral for the parts ordered. In fairness to GFM, the insurance representative did indicate several facilities similar to GFM have started doing this. Personally, I looked at this action as overboard since insurance was covering all the costs associated with the repair less my deductible. read more

If you are buying a boat on consignment through Gone fishing marine, make sure you pay them to do an inspection of the boat($300 was what Mark told me when asked after the purchase). It wasn't offered to me verbally, but Mark at GFM told me it was offered on the paperwork I signed, I just didn't read it. I couldn't find that verbiage on any paperwork I signed. He told me it's implied on "as is" or consigned boats. I did start the boat up at GFM instructed by their worker to make sure it was running before I left. I thought that they would at least check the oil(Mark stated, "I should have checked it myself.)" They may have checked , but the oil was the dirtiest oil I had ever witnessed in my 57 years of life as I changed it when I got the boat home. Just a heads up for the next buyer. Another solid experience with GF Marine! Had my boat in for it's first 100 hour service and 3 year for by the impeller replacement as per manufacturer recommendation. I'd not have known about the impeller unless GF mentioned it. I did my research and sure enough it was due. GF Marine helped me understand why the impeller gets replaced and saved the old part to show me hands on what happens over time. I am mad a hell. Having been to the shop several times in the last 2 years, I ordered a particular 2021 boat and put deposit on it in August. Middle of December they told me the boat had come in. They wanted me to tell them what add-ons I wanted. I asked advice from sons and cousin, and made a decision. They asked me to put up the rest of the money. I sent a check for $20K. They send me a receipt with the WRONG BOAT on it. Sure, it was only the color that was different, but that was the whole point of ordering it ahead and is my trademark color. Now they tell me that the one I want is out of stock and there won't be more until 2022 model. Sure, they will send my money back, but can they send me back the time and effort too? This was a message from Mark Blanton, "I am not sure where your animosity comes from." How dare you Mark Blanton - do you have no shame. (this was from an email from Mark to me) Mark Blanton is the worse sales manager/owner - do not do business here. This guy has no sort of concern about your needs - he has such an ego from another world and is not professional at ALL. I spoke to Mark on Tuesday, 6/15/21 about a boat which he told me he was the sales person in which he tells me it was sold then I asked for another boat on the lot which he too said it was sold. I later asked about other boats which he then told me with an attitude, " Just look online, whatever I have in my inventory is there, the website is updated daily." Ummm, if so why is the two boats that was supposedly sold still on there?? Mark calls me a few days later Thrusday, 6/17/21 that one of the boats have became available that if I was interested. Since I would be spending 20k on a used boat, I asked for deatils about boat and for it to get a compression test and a test drive on the boat which Mark repsonded, "Are you serious? You really think I'm going to sell you garbage, I got my repataion on the line and a huge demand on boats, if you think that I'm going to go out of my way for you for a used boat of only 20k, it's best we part ways beacause I have alot of inquiries for this boat and I don't need your business so we should part ways now!" He also includes, "There is not 1 boat shop in Northern Cal that will ever do a test drive!" - funny because I know several and not to mention, this is not my first time buying a boat from a dealership. I asked for his manager which he angrily reponded that HE IS THE OWNER and he's going to do what he wants because he sell over 500 boats a year and don't need my business. I went to go look at the boat yesterday anyways hoping he would be truthful since he had such a big ego and sounded so confient that he wasn't sellin me "garbage" (his own words) on Wednesday, 6/23/21 (mind that I had 10k cash and had already been pre-approved) , Mark showed no interest of selling me a boat at all. The boat looked like it was swallowed by the ocean and spit back out - the engine and trailer were well rusted plus there were several areas where salt had started peeling off the paint. The bad part too was watching his service guy on the forklift almost drop the boat in front of me then dragging and tearing up the wheel for the trailer jack. I then told Mark I did not want that boat and wanted a new boat. He took me to the finance manager and told her, Stop ALL paperwork, not sure what his problem is but he doens't want the boat but wants a new boat now - why? I don't know" It was weird to get me to the finanace manager where she herself said she doesn't know what she's suppose to do and admits its Mark's job to put a boat together for me then give her the price so we can work on that number - I just got up and left (the finance manager was great - she actually called me yeaterday afternoon and kind of put me at peace where I didn't want to post these comments but after I got Mark's email this morning, I wanted to make sure it is aware - See the other reviews and comments of Mark's attitude and poor service. Mark follows me out and tells me, go order it online and have it shipped her...I'm like okay??? As, I was pulling out, he tells me, there's more boat out side - he points to a door and tells us, "its back there, whatever on this wall is forsale whatever there is being service." We were outside for about 20 minutes before he came out, there was a beat up Duckworth that had been sitting in the sun I was interested in and asked for the price, Marks response, "Its maybe 45k but you can look online, everything I have is online with prices marked on it, go check it out, its updated daily." Again, yet the boats he said were sold was still only too. At this point, I figure, Mark was right, he sells 500 boat a year and he absolutely does not need my business so I am parting ways with him at Gone Fishing and taking my business elsewhere. Mark, in regards to your response below, if you change your attitude and stop selling garbage, you shouldn't have to worry about getting bad reviews. Lose the ego dude - you're not that great of a person nor and do not put up a front on reviews because there's plenty of people here who has already exposed your crappy service and made things clear here. **STILL ZERO STARS!** It's been a little over a year, I've bit the bullet on this very bad SHITuation with these crooks and moved one. Update 07/04/2021, today I took the boat to a buddies place to remove the 4" spacer from my 10" Jake plate to see if I can get better performance out of my motor. Come to find out that ALL 4 of the nuts and bolts that bolted the 600 lb Honda motor to the transom were all loose! They also used cheap silicone to try to seal the bolts in the transom. In all of my 20 years of owning boats I have never seen this. I am just glad that I caught this before things got worst and before someone got hurt. These people are CROOKS and they charge a premium for their half ass work. STAY AWAY spend your hard earned money else where. read more

I recently purchased a boat from GF marine. The whole experience was already great. The team is very efficient from sales all the way to the finance team. Every question I had was answered right away. They were able to add the accessories I wanted in a couple days. On my first day taking it out my GPS wasn't working properly and I called them up and was told to bring it in. I brought the boat the same day and was told it'll a hour or so. One of the techs stopped what he was doing to fix the issue. Mark (owner) came to update me that it'll be fix shortly, a hour comes and he comes to get me that the issue is fixed. I asked him what the cost of it was and he told me don't worry about it because it was there mistake not to add a external GPS. I was in shock nowadays who will do something like that. Well...where do I even start? I called Gone Fishin' to ask about specific Ranger RT188 model I was interested in. They weren't too helpful on the phone and even seem to not show much interest in answering questions-that should have been the first sign that this place may not be for me, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe they were slammed with customers. So I planned a trip to them (I live over an hour away from their Dixon location) and figured that I would get there first thing when they opened so that I could get a sales rep to help me. When I arrived at 9am I asked if i could have a look at their Ranger RT models. I was told that they were on the side of the sales floor building and that they were under shrink wrap. This is what blew my mind: I was told that if i was interested that I should "try to take the shrink wrap off myself and have a look at the boats". No offer to help me, no sales rep to assist me and answer questions. Like an idiot, i did what I was instructed and took a look at the boats that were again ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING UNDER SHRINK WRAP. That wasn't the worse part, each boat was backed up so tight to each other that trying to have a look at the motor or even look at the front bow/keel was impossible because of the other boats wedged up against the boat I was trying to look at. Also, the side of the building where the boats are has a fence so I had to shimmy my way down the fence line and take a wild guess at what boat I was looking at, because there was no information attached to the boats. Was I looking at. 19 footer or a 21 footer? The hell if I know, THERE WAS NO SALES REP ANYWHERE TO BE FOUND. After reviewing the boat that I was ready to buy, I went back to the showroom and all these sales reps were huddled around chatting, they took a few glances at me and NEVER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED ME. I should have left, but like an idiot I went to look at accessories to think of upgrades. Again, folks, I was there to buy a boat-cash in pocket. I had questions about trolling motors now, but guess what? NOT ONE PERSON ASKED IF I WANTED HELP. I grabbed brochures on the Ranger boats and left. I WAS THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR. NOT ONE PERSON WANTED ANYTHING TO DO WITH ME. But i'll tell you what, several caucasian couples walked in after I did and boy did they get the royal treatment! See, I'm asian with tattoos covering all my arms and legs (I had shorts on). I had the appropriate facial mask on as required so it couldn't be that. Matter of fact, the people who they decided to greet and help had zero masks on. Bottom line, I felt discriminated against or at least judged and deemed not worth the time. Maybe They thought I looked like a person who didn't have the means to buy a boat. Guess what? I do, and I did. Everyone save your time and money and go see the folks at C&C Marine instead. I was immediately greeted and they answered every single one of my questions. They followed up with phone calls and I eventually went in and handed them my business. Sad that I was ready to buy my first boat from Gone Fishin because there aren't many Ranger boat dealers in my area. This place is a straight up joke. Maybe if you're caucasian you'll not experience this. Either way, I am disappointed in Gone Fishin' but glad I got what I needed in a boat through C&C Marine. UPDATED: Reply to Gone Fishing reply. I like how you try and debate my story and not addressing simple facts. No one greeted me. They greeted others. Someone sitting at the front desk and me asking them a question is for from greeting me. I get the whole "no pressure" sales approach, but your guys knew i was going to look at a covered ranger on the side of your building and yet no one came to help me remove the shrink wrap. But go ahead, tell me how the events of my review is wrong. You also don't even address the fact that you have boats on the side covered and barely accessible for potential buyers to look at them. And as for masks, that's your business, not mine. The fact that i had one on and other customers did does not bother me. But don't tell stories about your guys wearing them because none of them were when i was there. bottom line, you lost business. I had cash in hand and was set on a ranger. And to sit here and tell me i'm slamming a family owned business during these times? please...i own a family run ned business and i can assure you my customer services is much better than yours-Covid or not. I had a great experience purchasing my nitro Z20 pro from GFM. Mike V. was my sales rep that was very knowledgeable and responsive to my emails on updates on shipping date of the custom boat.
