Yummy boba (nice and chewy) with good quality tea. Lots of charging ports underneath the seats, which make for a good study spot. Gong Cha is a classic and has been solid in all locations I'v visited. Wifi is available, as are bathrooms. Bathrooms are clean (otherwise nothing too special). read more

This place is pretty chill. The music was a little loud for my liking but overall a chill vibe. Had the lemon aiyu drink with white pearl. It is the perfect drink if you're looking for something refreshing and light. They let you choose your sugar and ice levels which is always great- more places needs to do this. Can't wait to come back! read more

Went here yesterday because it was the closest boba place and definitely dont regret. there sizes are a little smaller than most boba shops but still just as good. i got the dirty brown sugar milk tea and i loved everything about it just not the foam. it was really salty but my boyfriends drink was amazing 10/10 he got the taro milk! read more

I would say this is the best milk tea in katy. They have creme brulee brown sugar milk tea and milk foam tea that my husband and I were in love. I used to stop at the store on the weekday but it's still busy. The girl named April took my order and she is really friendly when taking it even though I ask her lots of thing. She didn't charge me for the extra syrup or sometimes I forgot to ask for topping. I remember the barista always make my drinks super fast and turning out amazing is a tall with glasses. She remembers my go to drinks and make it the way i like. Not too sweet but enough flavor. However, I have to take one star off because the boba was a little odd today, it was too soft, it happened twice to my drinks already, that's why I have to go back and ask to take that out for me. I definitely come back with my family. read more

Great tasting drinks in a great location, this place stays busy, we were there 30 mins before they closed and there was a line to order, worth the wait. Theres ample seating but if they are busy good luck finding a seat. Smells like waffles in there, probably from the waffles they sell. This is my go to place on this side of town. read more

The drinks suck, we usually love Gong Cha as a chain but this location is terrible. First off when you first come in the smell is gross, something smells as if molding or spoiled. Second the customer service is terrible. They were rude, made mistakes with the drinks, overall wasn't a pleasant experience. We usually get earl gray milk tea with 3 Js and lemon aiyu, the BOBA tasted old/not fresh, and the drink in general wasn't of the usual quality. Never returning. read more

I think this might be my first or second time trying Gong Cha. So many tea shops now, I can't remember what I have and have not tried, lol. A friend took me here after celebrating with a birthday lunch. Upon arrival, we were greeted and serviced promptly. He ordered for the both of us the grapefruit green tea with 30% sweetness. I thought it was PERFECT! It was the right amount of sweetness, and good amount of tea flavor. The shop was clean, and I thought the seating arrangement and decor was nice. Will definitely recommend to my friends and family. I also saw a lot of interesting menu selections that I cannot wait to try! read more

I've been to a few Gong Cha locations and tbh, I don't really like it. This review is for the bubble waffle with 2 free toppings. I had sugar powder and chocolate syrup. It was sweet but ok for me. I have sweet tooth. I believe this is $4. You can add additional toppings (extra charges). We waited about 10-15 minutes for our waffle. Maybe they can turn down the music a bit so when the staff calls the number out, customers can hear it better from the table (if they dont stand around the counter to wait for the drinks) read more

When I found out this was opening so close to home, I made it my mission to be the first one to get some tea here, and as you can tell, I did it! Now to the restaurant... the tea was really good, Fresh is an understatement! I had the Earl Grey Tea and it was good, what I enjoyed the most was the Pudding and Herbal Jelly, I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor they both had. The only issue was that this fed my obsession with Bubba Tea and I had to come back. My favorite until now is the Yogurt Green Tea, DELICIOUS. It was so refreshing, specially on a hot day like today, and being that we live in Houston, it is good that they are so close to home now. The employees are welcoming and very helpful with explaining the menu and providing recommendations. I'm very excited that we are getting these places in Katy. read more

Nice ambience! Located in the new Katy Asia Town (yelp maps shows a weird location for some reason) next to HMart. They're currently having a BOGO promotion for select drinks. Recommendations: Lychee Oolong Tea w/tapioca (half sweet) has a good lychee taste without being over powering. The tapioca itself was cooked well and slightly sweet. Taro Milk Tea (half sweet) is rather good as well. read more

One of my favorite boba shops in Katy Asian Town! I got a Strawberry Matcha Latte w/ strawberry pearls and it was okay overall. The strawberry pearls were not like popping boba but have a texture like crystal boba. When I was about to finish my drink I didn't taste that much matcha anymore and it tasted almost like water but more flavor when I first started drinking it. But their dirty brown sugar milk tea and caramel milk tea is very good though. They also have these series of drinks like coconut, grapefruit, strawberry, dirty brown sugar, etc. and there's always a lot of drinks I can try next time I go here or if I ever go to their 2 other locations in Bellaire and Cypress. read more

I was interested in getting some boba and this new spot was interesting. They didn't have any almond milk tea boba which was strange but I got a regular milk tea boba. They made it super quick, the boba was really fresh and warm. The service was very friendly, all smiles and kindness. The inside is large and has lots of seats to sit and drink. I would come back here again to try some other options. I think this was a more specific kind of boba place that offers specific drink types to people who are used to these more specific offerings. read more

Have you ever craved a lemon sonic slush that tasted more like real lemons than "lemon syrup" made of 90% artificial sugar and 10% god knows what else? Then Gong Cha's honey lemon slushy is a must try item for you. It has real bits of lemon and just the right amount of honey, extremely refreshing and not suspect sweet either. The staff is pretty quick making drinks too, I've gone twice; once it was dead and the other a line of 6 in front of me. I came in earlier today to order three drinks only and yet two of the drinks are filled with ice instead of the teas as I ordered. They have a very good selection of drinks to choose from. I always get the wintermelon tea because it's so good! I recommend to lower your sweetness level. I'm not sure if its just me, but most of their drinks with the sweetness as is, is really sweet imo. Their tapioca is tasty, cooked very well. read more

The boba drinks that we had, strawberry taro with strawberry boba and Pearl milk tea with boba, are solid drinks but the customer service is awful. The girl at the counter did not greet us at all when we walked in. She looked like she did not want to be there and had PBF. She is no help with questions regarding the menu. Right after I paid I asked if I could get little ice in my drink and looked at me with no response and just walked away. I would not come back bc of the customer service here. There are at least two other boba places in the same strip that I would rather go for boba and bakery 85 will be opening soon too. read more

We visited Gong Cha for their addicting Brown Sugar Milk Tea with boba. After reading the other reviews, I think we got lucky because there was no line and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and patient. There is plenty of parking out front and a great grocery store next door. I cant wait to go back. read more

I used to go to Gong Cha every time I would go for a hair cut in China Town. I didn't know that they opened a location in Korea Town next to H-Mart in Katy. I have been going there at least 2-3 times a week. I used to get their Match Milk Tea but recently I discovered their Dirty Brown Sugar Milk Tea w/ Sea Foam. OMG! They forgot to add the Boba to the taro smoothie when brought to their attention they just dumped a few on top! After trying the $6+ drink it had too much ice and not blended smooth brought this to the ladies attention at the register told her it was not good and the problems they did fixing it in the beginning with the taro, she did not care and had no problem charging me again for something else which was really no better. Poor customer service I will not be back to this location again. read more

Not sure what happened but the milk teas aren't great anymore. It used to be decent but it has lost its flavor now. Milk teas are super watery, you can't taste the tea nor the milk, it's just a weird taste. The only good thing is their tapioca, still pretty chewy and not too soft. read more

After going to H-mart, I stopped by GongCha to get some boba for my family and I and it was honestly unpleasant. The staff was rude and impatient. One of the employee was looking for someone else to cover her duty on cash because she was "tired of taking order" as she stated, while taking my order. After finishing taking my order, they failed to tell me my number or even giving me my receipt ! I was paying attention to the barista and none of the employees actually know the recipe to their drinks. I saw of staff member reading the recipe taped on the wall as she was making my drinks! Moving on to the drinks i ordered... Matcha Slush : 0/5 Favor-less, it tasted like ice and water and a tiny hint of matcha the drink was REALLY ICY , my mom was chewing small chunks of ice Pearl MT : 0/5 Apparently this was their top #2 drink but it tasted SPOILED ! I had to throw away the drink due to the horrible taste Lychee Oolong : 1/5 Just sour and disappointing Wintermelon : 3/5 The only one drink I would MAYBE order again, it is way too sweet and when i asked if they can reduce the sweetness I get a flat no.. Cute place with lots of seating and friendly staff. We went for dessert, and they had your typical boba drinks. They also had the egg waffle that's the craze now. Highly recommend stopping here for the amazing bubble waffle with icecream- perfect for sharing or devouring yourself. The batter is delicious and makes for such a fluffy and sweet treat. The strawberry lemonade was kind of weird with solid candied lemon and lemon seeds at the bottom of the drink that would get sucked up and didn't make this drink. So... Gong Cha. I've had mixed feelings on this place. I know a lot of people who really don't like it compared to other boba places, but for the most part I've felt it's been fine. Their normal milk teas are for the most part good - I like the earl gray a lot. However, I do need to warn you about some of their drinks. I tried one of their special teaffogados (mango + matcha), and it was absolutely disgusting. The matcha flavor was very diluted down, almost no flavor in it. The mango flavor was concentrated in this jelly like substance, which was overpoweringly sweet. I didn't finish it, despite it having two of my favorite flavors in it. Nothing about that drink worked. Individually, the mango and matcha were mockeries of the flavors I love, and together they just jarred. I highly urge you to not even consider it, no matter how delicious it might sound. read more

Once in awhile I like to switch up my boba routine and get some Gong Cha. It's located in Katy Asian Town which I thought was cool because it's like a mini China town with many different restaurants and other boba shops. There was one person ahead of me that ordered 2 drinks, however it took 20min for me to get my green tea and milk tea. The problem was that the staff started to make drinks instead of finishing their order. I saw people who came after me receive their drinks, which were also just teas and milk teas. They were just too unorganized. Making drinks shouldn't be hard. Go in order. My green tea was alright but my milk tea was bland and tasted water down, I couldn't detect any tea. They also got my order wrong. The boba however was good and chewy. Next time, I'll just opt for Sharetea or Tea Bar Organics next door. read more

Though, the house blend milk tea was delicious, I specifically asked multiple of times if there's any tree-nuts, such as almond milk, because someone in my group has a severe tree-nut allergy. The young server was friendly but I don't think he realized the importance of someone not consuming tree-nuts if they have a tree-nut allergy. It's the kind of place where you can linger comfortably (solo with a laptop or catching up with a friend). Got white peach oolong tea as takeout and it wasn't sweet enough at 75% sugar LOL Also tried the milk tea with oreo foam. Solid MT but once the foam mixes, you lose the tea taste. Overall the place is ok.

All of their milk teas are perfectly smooth and as a topping enthusiast, I LOVE the portions here! They have the BEST grass jelly I have ever had! The grass jelly is smooth and silky without feeling grainy at all. Their portion sizes are generous so that you end up having a good proportion of toppings for each sip of drink you get. And all of this for an affordable price too! The store itself is cute with 2 kiosks to make ordering quick and easy. Definitely make a trip to Wushiland if you are craving a good cup of boba!

It's especially disappointing considering I commute quite a ways to get here. That said, the shop itself is super cute! I love the decor and the cute little Photo Booth inside! it's a cozy little tea spot with so many matcha options, probably the most I've seen in Houston. The service has always been great too. The staff is friendly and helpful with recommendations, which I really appreciate. I haven't found the one yet, but I'm not giving up. I'll definitely keep trying this and hopefully, with a little customization, I can find a combo that really hits the spot.

I like what I like, just as others like what they like. So I wasn't sure what I was going to get stuck with. So on the way to the outskirts of Katy, we stopped in at Ding Tea. Let me tell you how busy this area was on a beautiful Sunday before lunar New Year. There wasn't a single parking space to be had in three different lots. There was traffic everywhere in people. Do not drive well when they're looking for a parking spot. People just stopped in the middle of the parking lot and didn't move. Waiting for someone to walk out of a building. Super annoying. Luckily, Ding Tea is located behind lot of the larger restaurants and the golf course and other super busy areas. There was a parking spot waiting for me out front and it was easy to get in and out. We ended up getting a tea to share, and two to go with us to the party. We also got an order of the popcorn chicken. I wish they would have it a little bit spicier on its own, without having to dip it into things. A little seasoning goes a long way! The staff were also super nowledgeable about the menu, courteous, and efficient. Will definitely be back, but not on lunar new year. So busy!!

The lack of an English sign didn't help, as I figured Yan Kei was all about BBQ (#1) and Yan Tea was something like a cafe, when in fact it was the same place the entire time. Still, the rarity that is Cantonese siu mei in Houston, let alone Katy, makes this place still worth a look. It's always great to see the daily selection of meats hanging near the window to entice folks. They have roast duck, soya chicken, BBQ pork, and a very crispy siu yuk pork belly. I think their 3 meat combo over rice (三寶飯) is the way to go. It's the most ideal lunch option and could also make for a fairly hearty early dinner meal. I wouldn't go too late though, since most of their meats are at their optimal freshness during the early morning / afternoon. It's not that spacious, but it's enough for small'ish groups to dine. Takeout is pretty common here, often with some kind of bubble tea. I'm not particularly fond of the latter, but then again I've never seen a specialty Cantonese BBQ place and bubble tea do either particularly well. Another area that they're solid in is the congee selection. The pork and preserved egg are enjoyable despite the pricetag ($9) and the fish slice congee also gets a thumbs up. Prices are adequate for Katy and the service is good overall. It's worth noting the parking can be a challenge during peak hours and especially on weekends, since this is one of the busiest corners in all of Katy Asian Town. _____________ (#1) Not to be confused with Chung Wang BBQ on the same block.

Whether I'm with them or not, they always make a point to stop by whenever they drive into Houston from College Station. For that reason alone, MeetFresh holds a special place in my heart. It has given my large family a fun, worthwhile experience time and time again. On my most recent visit, we had a friend flying in from Chicago, so we brought him and his girlfriend here. We collectively ordered the Taro Mochi Milk Shaved Ice, and wow--if you're a fan of Chinese herbal flavors, this is the dessert for you. I usually stick with the mango or strawberry fruit dishes, but this one reminded me of Sâm Bổ Lượng, a Vietnamese chè/sweet soup. The flavors were earthy, comforting, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Not too hot, definitely not cold, great flavor, strong coffee flavor, and not too sweet. There's also a wall of fancy teas that's definitely worth checking out. (See my photo.) Service was also good! Nice, kind employee and the drink came out quickly. Luckily there wasn't a line when I arrived and only 2 other people in the cafe chatting at the time. In fact, I used to work at a boba shop and never has it occurred to me to smell a drink and not remake it for a customer. Like, I don't know what methods you use to confirm ingredients but you couldn't even take the drink to the back to smell it? You did it in front of my face? I don't ever ask for drinks to be remade unless it tastes nothing like I ordered, I just go about and let it be but this genuinely appalled me. Almond croissant was delicious Sausage with pickles and tomatoes on toasted bun was surprisingly tasty. We haven't tried the cake yet but next time, I will come when it is less crowded and I have more time to review the menu.
