Once in awhile I like to switch up my boba routine and get some Gong Cha. It's located in Katy Asian Town which I thought was cool because it's like a mini China town with many different restaurants and other boba shops. There was one person ahead of me that ordered 2 drinks, however it took 20min for me to get my green tea and milk tea. The problem was that the staff started to make drinks instead of finishing their order. I saw people who came after me receive their drinks, which were also just teas and milk teas. They were just too unorganized. Making drinks shouldn't be hard. Go in order. My green tea was alright but my milk tea was bland and tasted water down, I couldn't detect any tea. They also got my order wrong. The boba however was good and chewy. Next time, I'll just opt for Sharetea or Tea Bar Organics next door. read more

Gong Cha is one of the best bubble tea places. My only suggestion is for the owner to update the menu for customers ordering on UberEats. It has very limited options and does not provide a similar experience someone would have in-store. read more

This place is new and are still working out the kinks. It's different from the one on Bellaire because they have daily specials and the wait time for your drink is much longer and it is not dependent on whether or not there are a lot people there either. We returned over a month after opening and we got our drinks pretty quickly but their number system was down. This place is similar to the gong cha on bellaire but is also different because they have a different daily special everyday. If you read my other gong cha review then you know I love the crystal boba and it's the main reason for my visits and this place always remembers to put it in my drink. With that being said, there were two occasions that our drinks were off. Once when they forgot the ice because they pressed the wrong button on the receipt (?) and another when my fiancé and I ordered 30% sweet and he ended up with no sugar and I got both 30% and a cavity. read more

We ordered 3 drinks . Coffee Milk tea , QQ passion fruit green tea, and pearl milk tea. Let's go straight to the reason why this gets a 2 star!! QQ passion fruit isn't as advertised in pictures. Picture shows passion fruit pulp and seeds. I watched them make this drink and all it is , is passion fruit syrup. This doesn't even taste like passion fruit. Just juice tinted yellow that taste like sugar water. My wife likes her coffee milk tea and tapioca. It's a bit light on the coffee flavor but overall she gives it a 4 out of 5. read more

This tea place is amazing. They have a variety of milk teas and unique drinks. The matcha crepe was very delicious the flavor wasn't overpowering and it was just right. Gong Cha in Houston, what more can you ask for! Great selection and menu. Not quite as good as one in Tokyo, but it is top quality. Take out only now, but it's great place to stop by for sweet drink. Mine is dirty brown sugar milk tea. read more

This location's quality seems to be on par with other locations I've been to. The drinks are, on average, pretty sweet so I would recommend getting less or even half sweetness level. I also like to get less ice so the drink doesn't get watered down later. They have a points program, so give the cashier your phone number before you order! This location also rotates samples so you can try their different choices. I usually go with wintermelon or oolong milk tea. This gong cha is tucked away in the new hmart plaza, and inside is clean with kpop playing in the background. And omg there are literally so many outlets; this would be a great place to study! read more

came here for their soft opening and it was great ! this is the first boba tea place that opened inside the new Katy Asia Town ! i got the Wintermelon Tea (no caffeine) with pearl (tapioca balls) and it was so good, it's probably my favorite drink that i have gotten from here. i got my bf the QQ Passionfruit Green Tea but instead of coconut jelly, i substitute it with aloe jelly and he really enjoyed it and i got his mama the Lemon Ai-Yu with White Pearl and she's obsessed with it. it's nice because they have lots of different options to choose from and the quality of the tea is good which makes up for their slightly higher price point. i would highly recommend it, and they are also having a BOGO special on their grand opening weekend, which is on Saturday 4/28 & Sunday 4/29 ! don't forget to be a little patient as they just opened so there may be bumps here and there but overall they are great ! read more

Out of both days of BOGO, We got milk foam green tea, QQ green tea, and lemon basil seed drink. Milk foam green tea - really good. You get a little milkyness to your drink but not as much as a regular milk green tea. The foam slowly mixes into your drink. If you like things light on the milk, this is a good choice. If you like foam-staches, also a good choice :) Lemon basil drink (from the top 10 chart): I thought this was okay. It was pretty light on the flavoring which is good for someone who wants something light and refreshing for a hot day. Just wasn't for me. QQ Tea (from top 10 chart): my favorite!! You get tapioca and lychee jelly mixed with green tea. I think it's green tea. I usually get 30% sugar which is sweet enough since the toppings have sugar already. Amazing! I absolutely love this place's drinks! They're not overly sweet or too expensive, compared to other bubble tea places nearby. The quality is consistent and you can tell the ingredients are freshly prepared, as well as the tapioca pearls that are cooked to perfection-- not too chewy or too soft! My wife usually toggles between Sharetea and Gong Cha in Katy Asian Town since they're the closest without venturing out to Bellaire (Unless we're feeling Kravin or Kim's Teahouse). Don't get me wrong, I like the Milk tea at Gong Cha (Our usual is 2 of the Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3J's), but the last 3 visits had me waiting forever for just 2 drinks. I know teahouses can get very busy, but the last 3 occasions have not been. I could literally remember the place having less than 5 people total each time (That includes people already sitting down with their drinks). I don't think it should take that long to make those drinks (Feels like I'm at the grand opening of Zero Degrees with that wait). Came in excited for an evening snack with the mrs. Wanted to order pearl milk tea and egg waffle. Check the time, it's a little before 830p and they close at 930 and think oh that's plenty of time they probably haven't shut any machines off or started cleaning them just yet. This was my first visit to Gong Cha in Katy Asian town. This place had a very nice ambience to it. The workers were all very knowledgeable- which I appreciated. We ordered the milkfoam green tea and the grapefruit green tea with aloe Vera. Both teas very good. I'll be back to try the bubble waffle. read more

The service is going down. I came in the other day and the guy saw me, he sighed hard and didn't even greet the customer. Also, he signaled the girl who was under the counter and just keep doing his thing. They seems not very happy to have customers coming in even though it was dead. And while making my drink, their friends came in so they stopped doing it and just talked to the friends. When I got my drink it was overflowed and I couldn't even stab the straw in. I really like their mango yogurt. A super sweet and addictive drink! Their brown sugar milk tea is also a win! Keep in mind, my tastebuds are easily entertained by sugary drinks. My sister has severe food allergies and eating new things is always a hit or miss. She says coming here to try boba was the best choice thanks to the cashier/bobarista, Nick. We explained to him the allergies to nuts and milk and he made sure nothing was cross contaminated and washed everything himself for us to watch him make the drink to ensure no contamination would take place. I had a bad experience with this place before and after talking to the owner I decided to take off my review and give it another chance. I came back on a non-busy day with about 5-6 people working yet no one was nice. We had ordered 3 drinks and the cashier gave us an attitude since he couldn't hear. I hadn't tried them out before so opted for here instead of Yan Tea. I got the Milk Foam Black Tea (50% sugar, regular ice) and wasn't impressed. It was average priced and average tasting. One of the best egg bubble waffles in town. The few in Chinatown were pretty good too but none are soft & fluffy like the one here. Other places tweaked their recipe to hold up against the ice cream which lead to a crisper products. But I prefer the original more cake like one, just like the HK from my childhood.
