It felt like they were trying to take advantage of me rather than actually diagnose or fix the real problem. What makes this even worse is the unprofessional behavior online. This worker 'Debbie' of theirs regularly responds to negative reviews claiming that customers "never came in," which is completely false in my case. I absolutely DID come in, and saying otherwise is just a dishonest attempt to protect the shop's image instead of taking responsibility. Be weary of Al as well. He will sell his nice service and if you don't have the finances yet he will definitely pressure you. If this business was confident in their work, they wouldn't need to deny real customer visits or dismiss legitimate complaints. This kind of behavior raises serious trust issues. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. If you value honesty, transparency, and fair pricing, go somewhere else.

Due to people getting sick, it took then over two months to complete the job but they charged me $1839 on February 16.... I had Japanese Auto Repair on Stark put it in and when he put it in the first time, there was a LEAK!!! SO they had to come pick it up from Japanese Auto (after he took it out) and do the work over a weekend because our car was stuck in someone else's bay holding his work up. I don't know how well your math is but Japanese Auto had to put the transmission in TWICE costing me DOUBLE. I wasn't too worried because I have warranty.... These lousy people didn't even apologize for their mistake until I asked for one and they only reimbursed me $387 when I was expecting double that amount since they are the ones that costed me an extra $700+ because they didn't inspect it well enough, their waiting message on the phone is the worst. I collectively spent hours listening to "We exceed your expectations, we specialize in transfer case repair which is what was leaking after their "repair" as well as a part about "don't waste time". Get this my transmission is not working still today. We go back to a mechanic for an inspection end of this month but looking like we will have to see them is small claims court as well as contact the BBB... I was in and out of this shop for 3 MONTHS. It was a scam honestly. Each time I returned to pick up my van, they claimed it was fixed, and for the inconvenience of having to keep coming in, they gave me a new part for free. However, due to what I imagine is incompetence or laziness, they did not put in the parts correctly. I wound up going to a different mechanic in Hays to have them take a look at it. They felt for my situation and informed me that the mechanic was indeed incompetent at Transmission Exchange. It was an easy, easy fix that took 4 hours for them to figure out what Transmission Exchange couldn't in 3 months. Though the cheap dollar sign sounds attractive, save the money and go to a competent mechanic instead.

My 1995 Ford Bronco…read morewas experiencing severe loss of power with codes related to the fuel delivery and vacuum systems. Resistance and continuity were good throughout the fuel pump circuits. I replaced the vacuum lines and ran a positive test on the EGR valve, but my problems persisted. Another shop in the area recommended The Car Doctor given the age and symptoms of my rig. They started with a fuel injection service, resetting fuel trims and ignition timing. My truck rolled out of their shop running much better, but I was disappointed to find that my hood latch lever was bent out of shape. I will admit that the assembly had its quirks, but the mangled lever was unreasonable. Rob immediately responded with an apology and a gift card, on top of offering to repair the damage. I had already replaced the assembly since it was a simple fix, but the gesture was above and beyond what I expected. I could tell that Rob took it personally, and I was impressed by his genuine care for customers. Fast forward a week, no start. So I dragged my lazy horse back to the shop and they confirmed no spark. On top of that, the code reader was no longer communicating with the computers, which made us suspicious of the PCM. They traced out faulty wiring along the ignition system to fix the no-start condition. Yet the truck still stumbled over intermittent power loss and fuel delivery. Welp, time to take a pulse on the entire system with a breakout box. Taking care to eliminate the possibility of any ground, sensor, or other component issue, they zeroed in on the PCM. Rob not only gave me confidence in finding the culprit, but he found the cause in a slow leak from the windshield seal (I had recently gotten it replaced at another shop). I am grateful for his attention to detail as it has prevented a very expensive problem from re-occurring. Rob was a pleasure to meet - easy going and passionate about his work. He took care to thoroughly investigate my truck's condition instead of slapping on band-aids to mask symptoms. Diagnostics were honest and prices were fair. His team did great work on a complex job, and they took accountability for the minor issue I had with the hood latch. Two more things that stood out to me about this experience: when they diagnose your vehicle, they send a link to a comprehensive overview of what they see. This includes pictures and descriptions that are detailed but simplified for the casual driver/mechanic. And a big shout out to Sam, their receptionist! She was very friendly and professional through many stressful phone calls. Sam, Rob and Team, thank you for a great experience and for taming my moody Bronco! I will be back when the wrenching gets tough, and plan to bring any future vehicles to The Car Doctor shop for a trusted assessment.

I listened in as the attendant was working with the previous client, when it comes to a woman going into a maintenance shop there is that stigma with women and car shops. I'm always on alert when I'm at a car shop because mechanics have been known to overcharge women. When it was my turn I had said i was there for my appointment, but the massive American flag outside is what made me ask this question. I had asked if this was a locally owned shop which they agreed but I asked what their stance is on the climate of the country and they said they all have different stances. As a veteran who served this country I don't feel comfortable giving my money, my car or the belongings in my car to this shop. Or leaving my car unattended with them. I stated this, and this attendant started telling me about this and that. I don't care. I care about my community, and if my money is going to the right places. They are very nice and explain things to you.
