I'll start with the good. Parking was easy, the building is nice, the office was easy to find, and overall the facility itself is great. Unfortunately, my experience inside the office was a completely different story. From the minute I walked in, something just felt off. The first person who greeted me at the front desk simply asked, "What's your name?" No hello, no welcome, no "How are you?" Just straight to business. I actually said, "Hey, how are you doing?" and had to repeat myself. It almost seemed like he was surprised that I was asking how he was doing. It might sound like a small thing, but first impressions matter, especially in a medical office. A simple "Hi, welcome in" goes a long way. The office was also extremely quiet. I didn't see any other patients, there wasn't much going on, and the same elevator-type music seemed to be playing on a loop. I sat in the lobby for about five minutes while I could see staff talking in the back. Eventually, someone came out and brought me into an exam room. This is where things became even more uncomfortable. I was told to undress and stand on a white cloth because the floor was cold. No gown or robe was offered. I had to specifically ask for one, and the response was basically that they normally don't give patients one. I said I wanted one, and they eventually gave me one. That was a big red flag for me. If you're asking someone to undress for an exam, providing some type of covering seems like a pretty basic patient-comfort thing. Then the doctor came in with another person holding an iPad. I had no idea who she was at first. I asked and was told she was there to help document everything. Maybe that's standard for this office, but when someone is potentially about to examine you while you're undressed, I think an introduction and explanation beforehand would be appropriate. At that point, I had already made up my mind. I wasn't comfortable getting undressed or doing a full exam. I stayed dressed, asked the doctor to look at the two specific things I came in for, and kept the visit short. When I checked out, they asked if I wanted to schedule another appointment because the doctor wanted to see me again in 30 days. I declined. But here's the part that really sealed it for me. About 30 minutes after I left, I actually called the office because I wanted to give the doctor feedback directly rather than just go online and write a review. I asked to speak with her and was told she wasn't available. I left my phone number and asked for a callback. They even asked what the call was about, and I specifically said I wanted to provide feedback about my experience. I never received a call back. That was red flag number four. The frustrating part is that none of my concerns were about the building, parking, or even the doctor's medical knowledge. It was the overall experience and the lack of basic communication and warmth. Say hello when someone walks in. Explain what's going to happen before asking them to undress. Offer them something to cover themselves with. Introduce the additional person entering the exam room. And if a patient calls afterward specifically wanting to provide feedback, at least acknowledge the call. Those little things matter. I left feeling less like a patient and more like I was just being moved through a process. And when I tried to give the office an opportunity to hear that feedback directly, nobody called me back. Based on my experience, I won't be returning, and with the number of dermatologists available throughout Torrance and the South Bay, I personally wouldn't recommend this office. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Consuelo David, she is very welcoming and understanding for complicated dermatology issues like I had with my skin reaction to prescription drugs, and was able to solve my issue with 4 visits and a biopsy over the course of 3 months. The office is very clean and scheduling very simple with their online tracking software. Billing is clear and they actually are very reasonable pricing wise, compared to other specialty doctors office including my old dermatologist who isn't in my network anymore. The medical assistant staff is very good as well. Parking is good, as it's a large medical plaza, and I like how they didn't push laser treatments or boutique creams like some other dermatology clinics I've been too, but they have them available. I liked the practice so much I been referring them to friends and on reddit. read more

This is a late review, but I wanted to give a shout-out to Dr. Noah Craft. I've had a mole on my right arm since I was about 3 or 4 years old, and although I knew that moles present since childhood are usually benign, I had not been diligent about monitoring it over the years. One day, I noticed that I felt it might have grown, and I became worried, especially since cancer has affected several members of my family and even a professor at my college passed away from melanoma. At my appointment, Dr. Craft listened to my concerns and agreed to do a biopsy for peace of mind. Thankfully, the results came back with good news. He also had an excellent bedside manner, genuinely seemed to love what he does, and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. I also appreciated seeing that he had a student shadowing him that day. As someone considering a career change into medicine, I know not all doctors are open to that, so I thought it was especially generous of him. I'd also like to thank Dr. Yang, his colleague, who gave me a steroid injection for a large cyst, which helped prevent further scarring. I'm very grateful for the care I received. read more

I felt like my time was wasted. I went in for a mole removal, a procedure I've had done multiple times with Kaiser and that was always billed to insurance without any issues. At this office, however, I was told I would have to pay out of pocket--even though I have PPO insurance (because it was "cosmetic"). This was not clearly communicated beforehand when I made the appointment, and it was frustrating to find out only after the visit. After 10+ years with Coast Dermatology without ever receiving a bill, I switched to Good Dermatology for a change. After my first visit, I was unexpectedly charged $283 with no prior notice or explanation--just an email receipt. When I called, they claimed I had agreed to cover any extra costs, but I never agreed to an unexplained charge. They also recommended two expensive prescriptions. When I called for an over-the-counter alternative, they called my pharmacy with two more equally expensive prescriptions. Two major strikes - I'm not waiting for a third - it's one and done. I was very lucky to have been seen by both Dr. Craft and Dr. David for an eczema infection that had been bothering me for a couple of weeks. The doctors were both very thorough and extremely personable. They were able to diagnose and determine a cream that worked very quickly for my infection. I see a different doctor in this building and happened to walk by Good Dermatology. Catchy name and when I looked them up, they had good reviews. I have been needing a new derm in the South Bay Area so I made an appt for a spot that needed to be looked at. The front desk was great in helping me make an appointment. Upon entering, the office is nothing special. It's clean and organized. There's a tray of free samples which was great. I dodn't have to wait long before being called back. Dr David took a look at the spot and reassured me it wasn't anything to be worried about. This experience was about a month ago. Today, I went in for a different reason, something I've been struggling with my whole life: acne. I had a bad flare up recently and knew I needed some prescriptions to help me clear it up. Dr. David was very understanding and compassionate. She took the time to listen to my concerns without making me feel awful about my skin. She made suggestions of what she thinks would be best and would be options for the future and I really appreciated that. I didn't feel pressured to be put on something I didn't want to be put on. Few months ago I decided to pay a visit to address my concern on a small and mysterious mole. I was able to check my insurance and booked an appointment relatively quickly (within two weeks of my call). The Patient Portal was pretty easily to navigate and parking was free + no problem finding a spot. The clinic is located on the 3rd floor. After I checked in, I was able to see Dr. Consuelo Vera David right on schedule. She was very friendly and inspected my mole via dermoscopy. She didn't see any issues with it, but she also suggested a simple shave biopsy if I am still worry about it. After discussing the biopsy cost (approximately $125+ for no insurance or approximately $100 for my PPO insurance) and other concerns, I went for the operation. The procedure was painless (a local anesthetic was used) and took less than 10 minutes to complete. The lab result was ready in 3 days and confirmed the same conclusion - the spot was just a harmless pigment. The biopsy spot healed up nicely, but I can still see scar despite not being super noticeable after 3 months. Hopefully the scar's permanent color will be set 1 to 2 years after the biopsy. I did get a call 2 months later to pay remaining balance and the staff was very easy to work with. I cannot recommend Good Dermatology enough - friendly staff and quick turnaround! read more

During my appointment, I was told they could remove it right then and there. I consented and 30 mins later I was out of there. They were professional and very friendly. Called on Monday. Without ringing, a voicemail came up asking to leave your number. Left my number. Today's Wednesday. I called several times each time getting the voicemail. I tried the chat at their website. I was told (by the chat bot) I would hear from somebody. I didn't hear from somebody. I called again and apologized for my patience but I needed to talk to somebody right away. I have been trying to reach this office for hours to no avail. I did not receive a call from the voicemail that I left on Monday. The chat feature on their website is completely self-serving. If you try to get a human being you will be completely frustrated. If this is how difficult it is just to get somebody on the phone to make an appointment or to ask a question I can just imagine how awful the actual service is. I hope to hear from somebody soon so that I can revise this review, but if I don't it's gonna have to stay. read more

MISDIAGNOSIS OF A HEALTH CONDITION THE DOCTOR: I went in to have a suspicious mole checked out by Dr. Noah Craft and this place definitely did NOT live up to its name nor its Yelp reviews. I explained to him that I had been keeping track of that new mole and how it had doubled in size in the last six months. He took a look at it and assured me it was nothing to worry about as he sees "actual cancerous" moles and this was not one of them so he strongly advised me to just let it be. However, he didn't even use a dermatoscope to take a closer look. I pushed to have it removed and even biopsied as I didn't like it aesthetically and I also wanted to make sure 100% that it wasn't cancerous. I'm glad I listened to my gut on this one. The removal and healing went well but a week later I get a call from him with the biopsy results and it turns out that the lab DID find something. If left untreated, that mole had the potential to turn into CANCER. He then asked me to book another appointment with him to "double check that he had removed all of it." After almost talking me out of having it removed in the first place I didn't trust his skills anymore so I didn't go back to him. It's worth noting that his full-body skin exam was also NOT through at all as he didn't get too close nor use any devices. I had originally chosen to be seen by Dr. Craft because he's the most seasoned dermatologist at this practice. THE OFFICE STAFF: The whole process of booking an appointment and the visit itself were very unpleasant. The person they have answering the phone, Cletus, is passive-aggressive, condescending, dismissive and not very knowledgeable. Dr. Craft's medical assistant, Claire, is aloof and not very eager to do her job. She didn't even introduce herself as she walked into the exam room. The "portal system" that they have is a waste of time. I answered in detail all the questions on their website prior to my appointment only to have to answer them all over again in person with another front desk assistant who, though polite, wasn't welcoming either. In fact, after my mole removal I had a followup question so I called the next morning. The doctor wasn't at the office so I left a message with their operator and she assured me that the doctor was going to call me later with an answer. He never called back. I'm not even sure if he got the message in the first place. I also tried reaching him through their portal system with no luck. About 3 weeks after my appointment, I sent out an email to the staff on an existing thread about a partial reimbursement and it was never answered by neither of the 4 people on that thread. At least eventually I ended up getting the check in the mail but this further serves as testament to their level of unprofessionalism. When a patient goes in to see a dermatologist over a suspicious growing mole, it's a rather distressing situation. Doctors should do a better job at training their staff to make the whole process easier on the patient. Don't put your health at RISK and go somewhere else. read more

Dr. David by far has been the best doctor to help me with my cystic acne and other types. I'm 39 and still suffer from it on my forehead, chin (biggest problem area) and cheeks (least problematic). She has been able prescribe me exactly what I needed to treat my issues. I'm not 90% clear and it's never been like this! Thank-you Dr.David, you've helped save my skin. I'm now working on dark spots left behind from previous acne. I love the fact that she doesn't push me to do services or use things my insurance doesn't cover. She also tells me ahead of time if a prescription might be expensive and finds ways for me to save money on them. Dr. David and her staff are the best!! Very courteous, fast, and efficient! I suddenly severed rash on my mouth and eye area which became infected with puss! It was gross and horrific and I went to 2 urgent cares coast dermatology but their medicine didn't work. I finally went to good derm and met dr David. She fixed my crazy rashes on my face! OMG! If you need to pay 'out-of-pocket' like me I highly recommend going to GD! Dr. Vera David is phenomenal! I recently broke out in a rash all over my mid-body for the first time in my life & I thought I had skin mites or something really terrible... but the internet says all I need is a prescripted med so instead of visiting my-now-former derma Dr. who raised his consultation fee so much I decided to give this office a try despite other LA + Torrance offices I received a recommendation for & guess what?? Not just getting the right treatment for the rash, I ended up getting my 15+-year-old dilated damaged pore removed! Removing this pitted hole on my cheek means a lot to me. It was damaged during a Crystal Peel procedure & it really broke my heart every time I saw it plus noooooo doctors would help me fix it but Dr. Vera David did!!! She did so much more... This is a great office. Super clean and the staff is very nice and accommodating. We saw Dr. Craft for my 6yr olds wart on his finger and possibly face. Dr. Craft was amazing. He has the best bedside manner with children and really helped my son to not be afraid. Took his time to talk to my son as the actual patient and even showed him and my other son who I had to bring a magic trick with the liquid nitrogen. Super cool guy. I absolutely love this place! Dr. Vera David has helped me so much. I have had 2 treatments of laser hair removal, it I noticed a significant different after the first session. After the second session, the hair is like non-existent. I have been to sooooo many Dermatologist in the past for Laser Treatment. I have spend literally thousands of dollars and the treatment either never worked, I was burnt or the experience was terrible. Dr. Vera is so patient and kind, seems like she genuinely cares and the treatment was pain-free, it ACTUALL WORKED and I did not get burned. This is important because I am African American with dark skin, and lasers sometimes are not our friend. To top it all off, the treatments were like beyond reasonable. I could not believe the price when they told me, you will not find any laser treatment that works more reasonable. First of all, it should be understood that I followed my PA-C, Mimi, from her previous place of employment. If she had gone to practice in a hut on Pluto, I would have found a way to get to her to take care of my skin. She's fantastic and I can't say enough about her easygoing, friendly manner and how approachable she is. She defines patient care and I recommend her highly. Now about Good Dermatology...their waiting area is super clean and relaxing; you feel like you've entered a spa when you walk in. The reception staff was really friendly and took care of my billing really efficiently. As someone who works an 8 to 5, I appreciate that they have early appointments so I can go there early and still make it to work. This is a great place, and they have a serious gem in Mimi. I switched dermatologists when my former one couldn't seem to figure out why I kept getting skin rashes. I had to pay expensive co-pays and try different creams, none of which helped. Dr. Vera David (dah-veed) is great; she prescribed a steriod cream for a horrible rash that had actually gotten infected it was so bad. More recently she removed pesky skin tags on my neck.
