The service here is always terrible. I mostly have gotten takeout from their counter and the people working are always rude. One one occasion the girl taking our order started having a conversation with one of the other workers (who looked like he was on break or something) in the middle of taking our order. There was zero acknowledgment of what we had said or apologies for the interruption. She just continued her conversation and rang us up. We should have just walked away because that was ridiculous. Today I ordered a wrap to go and the person at the counter asked if I wanted one or two peanut sauces. I said, "I don't know, two I guess." There was no indication from them that there was an extra charge for two or that one is standard and that a second is extra. When they rang me up, the price seemed higher than I was expecting so I asked for an itemized receipt. They said they would give me one after I signed my receipt (I paid with a credit card). I did, they walked away to get my wrap. Another worker (looked like the manager) came up to the register to take the next person's order. I told them I was waiting for my itemized receipt and they printed it for me. Sure enough, I was charged $1 extra for additional sauce. I then told that person working that the previous person had just asked me if I wanted one or two sauces but gave no indication that two was "extra" or an additional charge and that I didn't need or want an "extra" sauce. At first they seemed confused and said oh that's ok, you can keep it. And I said no, I was charged an extra dollar for this and wasn't told I was going to be, I don't want it. Then they understood what happened, apologized and re-rang me up without the "extra" sauce. I wonder how many times this happens to people without them knowing. Seems like a sneaky way of getting more money for basically nothing (the tiny container of sauce was insane to me that they would charge $1 extra for even if that was something I had wanted! 10 cents maybe, a dollar?! Insane. This was definitely the last time I go there. They need to do better at training their staff. read more

I came by with my boyfriend for a date night and we loved our meal! It was both of our first time and we had made a reservation but did not really need one since it was quieter. There is also plenty of parking in the street. I got the go green lemonade and absolutely loved it! It was so refreshing and had a very fresh taste as well. I also got the vegan banh mi without tofu which was delicious. My only complaint was that I ordered the banh mi without jalapeños and then it came with them on, so I had to remove them myself before eating. Our waitress was very nice as well but didn't notice the accidental jalapeños as well. Overall great visit here though! read more

Absolutely love Good Earth! My go-to is the chopped salad (no tortilla strips) paired with a refreshing strawberry lemonade juice. Wow!!! This place was incredible and we didn't feel overly stuffed when we left after lunch. My hubby had the Mediterranean Vegetable soup and shared my cashew chicken salad sandwich, it was all deliciously fresh. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive. We each ordered different meals and everyone loved all of the dishes... and you can't not have a dessert!! Their coconut cake is their best seller. The place was packed and despite having a reservation we had to wait about 10 minutes (not the end of the world, but a reservation should mean I have a table). There are a lot of unique (not weird, but something you won't get everywhere) options on the menu. Highlights of the meal were the cream of asparagus soup and hibiscus mimosa. Our server was very friendly, though somewhat forgetful. It seemed like we were the first table on her "rounds", and by the time she got back to the service area she had forgotten what we asked for. OMGOSH!! The Good Earth!! Just LOVE this place!! We don't have one CA anywhere near where I live, so when my daughter suggested this place, she was SHOCKED at how excited I got. The menu had some truly unique items and they pride themselves in their smoothies (we didn't have one so can't comment). The prices seemed high (likely due to the Galleria area and lease costs) and most dishes came with little to no protein, so you had to pay even more to add it. For our meals, I ordered the Breakfast Bowl (see picture) while my wife opted for the Shakshuka with added Turkey Sausage (see picture) along with a side of Buttermilk Cakes (see picture). The Breakfast Bowl was solid and we both enjoyed the Buttermilk Cakes. My wife wasn't as impressed with the Shakshuka - her primary disappointment being that the poached eggs were over-cooked. We really enjoyed our dessert though. We ordered the Cheesecake (see picture) and Iced Ginger Cookie (see picture) to share at the table and all of us enjoyed both of them. The Cheesecake was gluten sensitive, so had minimal to no crust and wasn't the baked variety, but the flavor was good. My mom took me to the Good Earth back in the 70's and 80's when I was little. The Roseville location was where we went. I'll never forget her favorite meal: Good Earth iced tea and a cashew chicken salad sandwich. We always got a chocolate chip cookie too. I still make Good Earth ice tea at home in memory of my mom. And every time I go back to see my sister in Minnesota, we go to the Good Earth in Edina to remember mom and we get an ice tea and cashew chicken salad sandwich. It is so good! When it arrived, it was 95% vegetable stew with only two tiny chunks of bison, probably weighing about an ounce each. I brought this up with the server, who told me that's the "intended portion size." Really? At these prices, I expected more than a glorified veggie soup. We also tried the wild mushroom shepherd's pie. What we got was essentially a 3-inch stack of mashed potatoes with less than half an inch of mushrooms underneath. And the mushrooms? Hard as shoe leather. While the flavors were decent overall (minus the mushrooms), it felt like the portions and execution didn't match the price tag. Oh, and they charge an extra dollar if you want your beverage without ice. Seriously? Nickel-and-diming your customers is never a good look. The seasonal specials menu had the Vietnamese Shaking Beef that sounded really good. However, to cut down on the red meat we asked if we could substitute the beef for chicken and voilà, the request was granted. We love when restaurants are accommodating and can make substitutions. Good Earth is a classic. It has been around 1978 and they have had their Chicken Cashew sandwich since their original menu. From a consumer standpoint, sometimes just having one great item is enough, and for me, it's the Chicken Cashew sandwich. The white meat chicken is flavorful and perhaps what makes it so appealing is contrast between the chewy chicken with the perfect amount of mayo and the crunchy cashews and lettuce. The hearty multi-grain bread adds to the crunch and taste. There must be something else in there because I have not been able to replicate this at home. The side salad (chips or fruit are other options) was marred by the dressing dressing, a citrus vinaigrette. Although the spring greens were moist, I could not taste any dressing. I asked the waiter to bring me extra dressing and added more. It was then that I realized the vinaigrette tasted like it was all oil, and no vinegar. This made it just oily without the needed tang of the vinegar. This was unfortunate because the greens were fresh, green, and crispy. My wife had a daily special, the strawberry salad with poppyseed dressing which she said was very good. All of the items on the menu are fresh and lean into healthy ingredients and taste is never sacrificed in the process. Good Earth is in Galleria Mall in Edina and the mall was jam-packed today because of Flower Show. Fortunately, we made reservations (for lunch), which I would recommend at any time. read more

I love the concept of this restaurant and I've heard that the food is generally quite good (fresh, organic, lots of DF and GF options). My specific experience was just blasé. I felt so bad for the waitress as you could clearly tell she was overworked and stressed with how many tables she had, which is just a sign of the times so I don't fault the restaurant for that at all. The menu offered lots of fresh, healthy, and sustainable foods. We ultimately decided on the Mediterranean Greek Salad with added chicken and the Grain Bowl Salad. You really can't go wrong with a Greek salad IMO but I really did not like the flavor of the tabbouleh, chicken, and hummus (so I didn't even touch those) and my friends grain bowl salad was kind of joke with very little quinoa and mostly all baby kale and arugula. It was like they completely forgot all of the other ingredients listed on the menu (supposed to come with carrot, cucumber, peppers, edamame, avocado, sunflower, sprouts and chia seeds). She said it lacked flavor all together and was really disappointed with her meal (she had a few bites and was done). The waitress was extremely sweet and offered to take the added chicken off our bill, which was nice. But overall I don't think I'll be back. I'm a little torn because my mom has a very sensitive diet (GF and vegan), so I loved that the menu was very inclusive in that regard. Also anyone with a restrictive diet knows that restaurants offering such options are few and far between, so kudos to Good Earth on that. Been eating at Good Earth for many years but have never actually sat down and dined in before. Many other comments mention this but it's true so I'll repeat it- interior is pretty old school and service isn't over the top great, but the food is good. Today we got a couple different versions of the tuna salad sandwich. The bread was so fresh and soft, and everything came in a perfectly sized portion for lunch. I've been twice and the food quality and freshness is outstanding! I went for lunch today and got the mango salmon with a side salad, and fruit. It was delicious. I was happy to learn that Good Earth was still open in The Galleria. It's been ages since I've been to both the restaurant and the mall. I was reminded how much I loved their Sweet & Spicy tea. I used to drink it by the gallon. I fear that I will be returning to doing so, now that I've had a taste of it again. There was only one bad thing about the visit. The Good Earth Burger is not easy to eat. I ended up with very messy hands as the burger would not stay together. It is quite delicious, so I was determined to eat it. It's rather large, so I hadn't planned on eating the whole thing, but there was no way I couldn't. If you order this burger, DO NOT CUT IT IN HALF! I believe that this was my downfall. If I'd just eaten it normally, I think that it would have been ok. Our waiter was great and he found me a few wet-naps to clean up. I was very thankful for this. My friend had the Chicken Souvlaki and was very happy with it. We used to come here to eat together years ago, so it was a mostly enjoyable blast from the past. Park in the area under the skyway and go in the door opposite the men's store. The restaurant is right at the top of the stairs. We will return, and I may try that burger again. The meal was about $20 (with a protein added) - and was enough for dinner and leftovers for lunch: The environment inside it's kind of plain and seems a little outdated. It was clean, however. We left to walk around for a few minutes and came back to ask if we could use the bathroom before we left and were told no. They were about to close and we weren't allowed back in.
