We were seated right away, my daughter is a 'slender' 8 months pregnant and had a little bit of an issue getting in the booth (to be expected maybe) I can imagine someone living with larger body weight having a bit of an issue with the booth. Our waitress was so kind, very nice and personable. The esthetic is nice. Nothing striking, very fresh feeling. Our food was ok- our corn chowder was AMAZING! It did not come prior to our meal and the wait was over 20 minutes. I order the Chiang Mai Thai Noodles - I expected it to be a little more light, this was a heavy, almost soupy, noodle dish. Plenty of carrots and sweet potatoes not equal bell peppers and cucumber. The taste lacked flavor slightly. My daughter had the Good Earth Autumn Salad which she said was great (not pictured). The Go Green Lemonade will bring me back for a "to go" order! It was refreshing and fresh - it did not taste like canned/bottles lemonade. Doubt that I would go back for the food. Stopped by Good Earth's grab and go counter for a quick lunch. The service was quick, which I appreciated, but I was underwhelmed by the BLT wrap for the price. I have been a loyal and frequent customer since 1980. Normally, I consistently have very delicious meals. Today, I ordered my usual Planet Burger and immediately noticed it didn't look the same, but tried to eat it and it was terrible! The bun was not fresh, the planet burger was much smaller, flat and undercooked, the flavor was not the same. I told my server at the end of the meal and followed up with a phone call to the evening manager. The evening manager insisted nothing had changed and seemed disinterested in my complaint. I think Good Earth is a nice place to eat but the food is rather plain. The outdoor seating is nice and it's perfect for people over 50. I remember the place when it opened and it is not as good. We were seated promptly in the less than 50% occupied restaurant located in the kinda "bite- sized" Galleria mall. Our server, Cynthia, arrived quickly along with a smile...unfortunately, she seemed to disappear once the food runner delivered our order but that's another story. I went with the Good Earth burger (see photo) along with a cup of Squash soup, the soup of the day. The burger arrived in good time with a very nice multi grain bun and perfectly cooked to medium rare. While the combination of the bun, meat and toppings were tasty and attractive, the Squash soup, which arrived hot, was bland and certainly not worth another thought. The tab was $38.50 plus gratuity but inclusive of the mandatory 5% "safety/service charge." I'm a bit curious about the definition of a "safety" surcharge. Is it for the guests protection against lousy soup and spotty service? Or maybe owner/management's inability to efficiently operate a restaurant? I work nearby so I have been here a handful of times. If you are looking for a cheap place, this definitely isn't it, but if you're looking for a healthy, well rounded lunch that makes you feel good the rest of the day this is the spot. Their menu is perfect for lunch and has the right portion sizes. I've had their lunch soup and sandwich special a few times and the soup is always hot and good, sandwich always delicious with fresh bread. Their seasonal specials are where they really excel- I love seasonal eating and they always have the most amazing options! I don't know what I'm going to do when they no longer have the fall harvest wrap, but I'm sure their next winter menu will be just as good. Everyone always friendly and parking can be tough but usually are lucky enough to get a spot by their outdoor patio. read more

I used to love this restaurant but the prices have gone up and the portions down. My favorite dish, a warm Mediterranean grain bowl with cumin, raisins and chicken is no longer on the menu. I tried the Greek salad, which boasts hummus and tabouli - There were only 2 Tablespoons of tabouli on the salad. I elected to add chicken for $4.25. I received shredded chicken spread out flat the size of the bottom standard coffee mug. I doubt the portion I was served even met weight watcher standards! Also, I didn't see fresh or dried oregano on the my salad or dressing...or any herbs. My son had salmon, and his dish did not have any seasoning, it was bare and boring. Unremarkable, unimpressive, meal. Isn't the point of going out to eat to be inspired or adventurous? Or at least satisfied? There were four of us, and our bill was $100. The positives: it was quiet! This restaurant excelled in sound barrier and acoustic considerations. Our server was attentive and competent. If I need a quiet place to meet someone I'll put up with the portion/cost issue, but in the meantime I'll either look for quiet dining options with inspiring choices or will just keep cooking at home more. read more

Meh. It's been many years since I had been to Good Earth and I remember it being fair which is why I haven't been back until now. My friends all said that the food there was great but I was not impressed....again. First, let me say that the service and server was fantastic! She was attentive but also let us have our time to chat since it wasn't super busy. She came back frequently with water or tea which was wonderful. The food though...I ordered the Smoked Turkey and provolone sandwich with cranberry chutney, apples and on toasted cranberry bread. The sandwich was quite small for over $17 - I know that everything these days is very expensive but this was a very small sandwich for the price. It was supposed to come with a choice of side and I ordered the "root chips' except it came with potato chips which was very disappointing. I thought it was going to root vegetable chips like the Terra Chips but no, just plain potato chips. I should have ordered the fruit. The chutney was overpoweringly sour and the sandwhich had a thin slice of meat and a thin slice of cheese and was not fulfilling at all. What a bummer! My friend ordered the chocolate mint cake for dessert, we all had a bite, and it was basically a small piece of cake with whipped frosting. not sure what happened to the mint but absolutely no mint flavor! There were tiny thin green shavings on top but I think they were too tiny to give it any mint flavor. When you say 'chocoloate mint cake', I'm expecting a chocolate cake with mint in it or at least mint flavored frosting, not some tiny flakes on top that no one could taste. Well, I tried Good Earth once again and no improvement after all these years. I seriously don't know what the appeal is for this place or how it stays in business. It's a good place to eat for those with simple tastes and a bit of extra money in their pockets to spend on a hamburger. (I mean, let's be honest, if you are shopping in Galleria Edina, you are either anticipating a big tax refund or you got lost on the way to Southdale. But congratulations on finding parking.) What a mediocre experience for brunch in February, 2017. Here are the highlights: 1.) Two friends had reservations. Each checked in under the reservation. They were seated in separate parts of the restaurant so they spent 10 minutes trying to connect with the other. Amateur. 2.) Ordered Heart Beet Juice--the highlight of the meal by far. 3.) Ordered salmon hash--salmon overcooked, poached egg cooked completed like a hard boiled egg, hash has so many red onions I could taste nothing else. Potatoes were white potatoes not sweet potatoes--health quotient? 4.) waiter forgot my green tea until the meal was underway. He did apologize profusely which helped. 5.) My friend ordered French toast--server said it was two pieces, it was actually two WHOLE pieces of bread with four slices-a lot of French toast. Went here for restaurant week and was pleasantly surprised. They had a nice 3 source prefix menu. we ordered the clam chowder cup, meatloaf and then carrot cake for dessert. it was delicious! I cannot tell you the last time I ordered, had or made meatloaf. It is not something I set out to get and i am glad i tried it! The food is always excellent and the prices are reasonable. Very friendly and professional staff. Great healthy options. The Good Earth has a long history of serving health and planet conscious foods since the late 1970's. The Edina Good Earth carries on that tradition. They have a convenient express bar at the front as well where you can get to go orders, and they have a nice patio in the rear when the weather is cooperative. Was very yummy Okay, this is ridiculous, been waiting over a half hour for my check. I changed my rating from five stars down to two stars. I will never come back. We haven't been here for awhile! We came to view the Bachman Floral Experience so we thought we would head here for lunch. There was a line but we checked in with Open Table App and it wasn't much of a wait for a table. The Heart Beet juice was great (be sure to get the large size since the small is not worth the $), as was the tropical fruit smoothie. I got the Miso ramen with butternut squash, which is on their seasonal menu. It really hit the spot because it was so cold out but it was a lot saltier than I expected. Parking was easy to find. I really liked the service. They got my order and gave me my receipt immediately so I didn't have to wait at the end for it and they were able to charge me while I was eating. When I moved here in 1987 my mother in law introduced me to the Good Earth because she drank the ice tea by the gallon. Over 30 years later it is still one of the most consistently good restaurants in the Twin Cities. Their COVID protocol is top notch. You have to make a restaurant on the patio. Wear masks when walking through the restaurant. Tables are distanced appropriately. And at the end they give you a wipe! The corn chowder is the best and as always the chicken wrap is perfect. What has happened to Good Earth? It was simply TERRIBLE!!! What happened to the menu? I opened the second page...it no longer exists. My son and I decided to split something...as soon as I said that the waitress became even less pleasant. The restaurant was completely empty. You would think she would be grateful for the business. I almost never send things back but I ordered the Mediterranean salad and it arrived not as a salad but rather as a plate of ingredients I could use to make my own salad. The components (olives, cucumber, tomato, etc, were arranged on a flat plate with a cold, dry. sliced chicken breast. If I had wanted to make my own salad I would have stayed home! People's Organic (also in the Galleria) has been consistently flavorless and underwhelming, so compared to other organic / health-food restaurants in the area, Good Earth reigns supreme. My favorite thing on the menu is their almond tuna sandwich! It's fantastic in the restaurant and they also sell full and half-sized sandwiches to-go from the grab-n-go window. You can also get awesome smoothies and fresh pressed juices, salads, and MASSIVE chewy cookies at the window! The best cookie by far is the iced ginger molasses cookie - if you like ginger, this cookie is for you! It's got a real bite to it, so grab a drink to wash it down! This place is typically pretty busy (especially for weekend brunch), so I highly recommend making a reservation or trying your luck at some odd-hours, like a late lunch or early dinner, to ensure you can get a table. read more

I'm not sure what has happened to the Good Earth recently, but service has definitely gone downhill. I've been a frequent patron of Good Earth throughout the years and have always enjoyed my experience, but lately I've experienced poor service and specifically my experience yesterday altered my opinion about the restaurant. Service has been very slow and at times rude, and not to the expectations that I expect when going to any Parasole restaurant.
