I've been going to this place for 7+ years and it is truly the best little hole in the wall out there! Many reviews complain about the "mandatory" $10+ tip but forget that this isn't a restaurant where 15% is standard. Very bad!!! We got the deal 60 minutes, 30 minutes neck massage and 30 minutes foot massage, for $20 per person. We were there today and only got 30 minutes all together, it wasn't really neck massage at all, and at the end, they said for tip. Husband gave the lady $6 and her reaction was: That's for one person right? We looked at each other, I guess not! So, we add another $4, which is $5 per person, and she said: That's it? $10? I was in the area and I needed to kill some time so I checked if they could take a walk in and they took me to a chair right away! They had my feet soaking in hot water for about 30 min and then the massage began! It was a great foot massage and then back rub (30 min each) for only $30 dollars! Great deal! For those complaining about the pushiness of the 25% tip..umm, they're massaging you for an hour! A massage like that should be 50-70 dollars PLUS a tip! I very happily gave him a $10 tip. I'm used to dingy and sketchy places in chinatown, manhattan and this place is far from it. I was a bit skeptical at first when I saw their sign outside, so my expectations were really low but I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. So my mom called in about a special she found on the newspaper which was $30 for 90 reflexology. so when we walked in they asked "are you the korean that called?" haha yes.. yes we are. We were seated immediately with a bin to put our bags and shoes and we also got a candy and crackers on a purple dora explorer plate before we started. They hook you up to this machine that balances your PH levels, while you dip your feet into a hot bucket. They also cover you with a soft towel that smells really good. After 30 minutes of that we both got massages that actually made me fall asleep. It was very relaxing and perfect because I was so sore from working out the day before. So the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because, I checked in on yelp and the owner did not honor the 10% discount that I got from yelp. She just mumbled something and kept shaking her head no... my mom just gave the money + tip and they gave us cold water (to drink) and I walked out happy regardless of the 10% coupon that wasn't redeemable. read more

Such a great deal for the price! I love going to the Good Foot Spa, they are affordable and really good. I have went nearly a dozen times and never had any issues. It is clean comfortable and accommodating. My not brave 85 year old grandmother has went with me and loved it. Everything felt better for her and her varicose veins became less noticeable. Winter seems like the perfect time to indulge in bodily treatments that warm you inside out and outside in, making you forget for a fleeting instant the gross insanity that is - WAS - Winter 2013/2014 in Chicago. I'd say that a foot massage is particularly welcome in my book since I don't have to take my clothes off, and shiver under a sheet for 50 minutes while worrying about the look and feel of my season-padded buttocks. Actually, I got even better than that: a foot bath in a warm, ionized water that supposedly got rid of my toxins (I suppose the pores at my sole level must be ginormous and let all the crap out, pardon my French), an arm and neck massage and a solid 25-minute foot massage that made me cringe a couple of times but that was, overall, quite pleasant to experience. The whole process takes places in dim lighting, with a heat pad in your lower back and a mask over your face for total relaxation. The seats are extremely comfortable, and you might catch yourself falling adrift...if you can block the annoying soundtrack that plays in the background (nothing is truly perfect in this world; that's a fact.) Haven't even walked into the place and have already had a terrible experience. I called Good Foot Spa today as my groupon expires in a couple of weeks. The woman was extremely rude and unprofessional. First off, she picked up the phone and started speaking her native language and did not even say the name of the business. I had to ask if this was Good Foot Spa that I called. When I asked if she had a 2 or 3 o'clock appointment on Sunday she just said ok and then proceeded with a response of, "Ok, see you Sunday" without even taking down my name or information! I said, "Don't you need my name?" and she replied with, "Ok, what's your name?" I was very thrown off so I said, "This is Good Foot Spa, right?" and then she actually yelled, "YES WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" Obviously I would never go to a place that conducted their business in this manner so I did not take the appointment. I don't understand why this place gets good reviews. My husband and I decided to go there to get foot massages to kick off our "date night" as a change of pace. We had an appointment for 5:45. We arrived around 5:40. No one greeted us; the reception area was empty. After about 5 minutes, I stuck my head around the curtain to see if anyone was there. A guy giving a massage acknowledged me and whispered, "5 minutes." OK. Went back to waiting. At 6:00, a woman came out, told us she'd be with us shortly, and left again. At 6:15 we decided to leave but at that moment the woman came back and checked us in. We told her we wanted a 30 minute foot massage and she said, "30 minute detox, 30 minute massage." We told her no, we'd skip the detox. She seemed to agree and led us to the back. Well, we got the detox anyway. It's a bucket of warm water with some kind of electrical stimulation in it. They didn't bring out the buckets until we'd been sitting in the chairs for about 15 minutes. So at 6:30, 45 minutes after our appointment time, we finally got started. The detox was a huge waste of time, as I knew it would be. The water was cold and uncomfortable by the time it ended. They didn't come back for the massage until 15 minutes after the timer rang. The massage was just OK. Nothing special and I was so irritated by that time that I didn't really enjoy it at all. So our 30 minute foot massage, that was scheduled to start at 5:45, didn't end until 7:45. What a waste of a date night. We were paying a babysitter $15/hour for those two wasted hours! I hadn't heard of Good Foot Spa until I purchased a Groupon for a 1-hour reflexology treatment with shoulder and neck massage and detoxifying foot soak. When I first pulled up, my expectations were kind of low. But, the outside is deceiving. Inside, it was really well decorated and bigger than it looked from the outside. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I took a look at their prices for future reference and they were well priced. The treatment/massage was amazing! It is hard for me to relax but the woman giving the massage got me to really relax. She was very thorough, and not only massaged my neck and shoulders but my face, arms, hands, legs and feet. She was so good that I ended up paying for a back massage as well! Overall, I think that you get more than your money is worth! I highly recommend going! I know I will be back! read more

I am paying for a service so the amount of a tip is a personal choice. That day my 18% tip was even too much. The service was not good and the workers kept changing during my 1 hour service. First of all they have moved to a different location on elmhurst rd. I have been coming there for over a year now. It used to be wonderful, i have brought my friends and even mu boyfriend. Now their massages are sooo weak unless u keep telling them to go harder throughout the massage. The lady that sits front desk wasn't really happy when i give her the punch card for a free massage. It used to be super busy and now it seems like their business have gone down the hill. Not to mention that they dont clean the towels between customers. This Place is horrible! I used a Groupon for the 60 min. reflexology and foot soak.... which disappointingly is really a 30 min. soak in hot water-waste of time.. I can do this at home. Detox through your feet? Give me a break. It was nothing more than a time killer for them. First they put a timer on, like I wouldn't believe them that they would do 30 min. treatment. So that was weird, and I decided to keep my own time. To my disappointment, the thing went off after 20 minutes, which she and the owner/mgr swore was 30 minutes. Really? Let me start off with - the outside of the place looks scary . You walk in and your like "okay this is kind of peaceful" ..a woman greats you and hands you a binder and asks if anything applies to you and then you move ok. You get taken to a room to do the foot detox. Being it was my first time I had no idea what was going on and they didn't speak English well enough to explain it to you . The foot detox they brought in a bucket with a garbage bag in it filled with water and stuck some thing in it and I sat there awkwardly for 40 minutes : 10 minutes after the beeper went off .. Anyway, with my feet in water a woman comes in about 5 min later and threw a towel over my face and told me to relax . Then she came in and "warmed"my bucket, and at that point I think she put colored water in it , to make it seem like the detox actually did something . The "massage therapist" I'm pretty sure went to the Looney Toons School for Massage- if at all . The massage was done with clothes on .. Fine - whatever . But then the woman came in and talked to him on 5 different occasions . Umm hello - I'm trying to relax here ! and I'm pretty sure he just made up his techniques in the back room practicing on his coworkers . Also- why so much massaging of my butt? I've had several massages before and never had that much butt time . At one point I was pretty uncomfortable and almost asked him to stop - I'm also pretty sure he was playing a song on my back with his karate chopping . This place was nothing that I expected at all! It looks a little janky on the outside and even when you walk in, but give it a try and I think you'll be as surprised as my friend and I. We had originally purchased a groupon for this place, but when we got there, they offered us an upgrade in service for 90 minutes for $10 more. Who wouldn't try to relax for even longer!? So the seats were like giant comfy recliners that had heaters in the back part. First they put your feet into a warm bowl of water to do the detox and they cover your eyes. They start with your feet, move up to your legs and they even do your head and arms, then they turn you over and massage your back. It was a little hard to understand the associate, but they were very patient and understanding. By the end, I could've taken a nap. It was so unbelievably relaxing. And here I was thinking I was just getting a foot rub and a simple detox! I'll definitely be back! read more

Very good service when you are there - expect it to take 10-15 minutes longer than the actual appointment time - sometimes late starting, foot soak goes longer than expected, or, surprise, sometimes they will massage you a little bit longer if it's not busy. Very nice people. Only complaint - called ahead of time twice to make a short-notice appointment and was told to come in. Showed up in less than ten minutes, as agreed, and they told me I would have to wait 30 minutes. I don't mind them telling me there is no availability - I mind when they tell me to come in and I make the trip and then they can't take me. I just got back from my 30min REFLEXOLOGY massage and 30min foot detox (I had a Groupon). I must say - it was pretty awesome. Dont judge the place from the outside. Can look a bit scary. And if you're expecting your own private room...........that is not the case here. Its a large room, w/ many "stations"(chairs). It is very dim, very quiet and relaxing. Many of the people that work there, do not speak much English........so just be patient w/ them. The man I had - - - could not believe the strength in those little hands!!!! He was a nimble lil fella........and yet as he worked on all my pressure points...........he never lessened the intensity in his grip. Absolute heaven!!!! And for $20......that's almost a steal!!! If you got the Groupon w/ the deal I did (see above).......its important to realize - this is NOT your typical massage. This is a RELEXOLOGY massage. It is for targeting (and applying pressure/kneading) over several pressure points on the body. And the purpose of the foot detox right thereafter, is to purge all the toxins from the body (I saw my water afterward, and it worked)!!!
