I ate at Good Fortune with my son tonight and had a wonderful experience. Pablo, the host, was friendly and sweet with our little dog. Our server, Anna Kate, was a delight. She was thoughtful and attentive. The food was delicious. We had shrimp dumplings, lumpia, wings, and spicy pork noodles. The shrimp dumplings have become one of my favorites and I don't love shrimp. The lumpia are "miracle" (instead of beef, which I think (?) is traditional) and they are great....crispy outsides and yummy insides. The wings also have crispy outer coatings and a delightful, buttery sauce. Different than any wings I've had...so, hard to describe. Noodles spicy goodness, love the soft cooked egg. :) Our drinks were Old Fortune and What Mezcal and were both refreshing and tasty. The bartender, Grace, was also friendly and fun. Loved this place from the food to the vibe the employees gave. Everyone was very friendly and helpful since it was my first time there. My waitress explained the whole menu and also told her suggestion of what she would recommend. We tried the wings as a starter and they were good. Our first visit here did not disappoint. Fun and friendly staff had us seated quickly on the patio to accommodate our dog. Our server, Anna Kate, was excellent. She took great care of us and was also wonderful to talk to. We ordered the Lumpia and Shrimp Dumplings to start, both of which were delicious. The Lumpia were super crispy while the dumplings were quite literally bursting with flavor (be careful). Our drinks arrived from Grace the bartender in a timely manner and were delightful. Up next, the Spicy Pork Noodles. Presented expertly in a large bowl, the dish was superb. Between the deep, rich broth and the firm yet tender noodles I couldn't decide which one I wanted more of. We saw some amazing looking ice cream desserts being brought to other guests but were absolutely stuffed. We'll try those next time. I've been coming in nearly every week since they opened last year and it has consistently gotten better and better. The staff is one of the best ones I've been around in the city, the ownership loves constructive feedback and always asks how the food is holding up, and the food is excellent. My recs are the GFC wings with the sichuan butter, the pork dumplings, and the tan tan ramen although I've tried nearly everything on the menu and it is all excellent. Laura Jean is the bar manager and makes amazing cocktails but she will also accommodate a teetotaller like me and make a nice non-alcoholic beverage. And again, I cannot say enough great things about the staff. They have always treated me great and I always enjoy sitting at the bar, catching up, doing some work, and eating some great grub. read more

Had the chance to dine here recently. Party of 1. The very limited food menu was eye catching. To be fair what I had was well-prepared and presumably fresh. The second thing to catch the eye is the auto-20% gratuity (as an aside, I am typically a 25% tipper and leave 10% even in the cases of egregiously poor service). I am from a major east coast city and routinely dine in high-end restaurants. But a 20% auto-tip for a party of 1 sitting at the bar is a bit much. Third thing: one Japanese beer, one order of dumplings, one small-ish bowl of noodles check total: $44. I rate overall value of this dining experience as low. read more

Just the best. We're so thankful they opened up in Memphis, and it's been one of our favorite places to go. It's always among our top three restaurants in the city at any given time. The atmosphere was warm the had a heated patio which was really nice to experience in the winter. The music was very loud and made it hard to have a conversation but if you don't mind loud music then this is the place for you. The food itself was delicious, however the portions for the dumplings are quite small for the price. I have a small appetite so it was satisfying for me but if you come hungry be prepared to drop some big bucks. The noodles were a much more reasonable portion for the price and the flavor was scrumptious. Overall I recommend this place for people who like novelty restaurants but not as a favorite place of mine. read more

First of all imagine being in a setting out of John wick 2, well you can find that here. Moreover, do not get the 11 dollar wings if you are not a fan of sugar or sweets. It's more of a desert than a meal, there should be more options for wings. Furthermore, one of my friends told me there would be sushi here. However, the menu had very few options. In addition, noodles very expensive 16 dollars, but taste good. If you are a fan of sake it tastes good but that's about it. Thank you for your time. read more

As a vegan traveler, I am beyond excited about this new find. Not only was the food exceptional but the service was amazing! Went with a few friends early this past evening, everything was great. I am still thinking about the food I want to try the next time I visit. We had the wontons, shrimp dumplings, wings, edamame, and taro fries. My favorite was the edamame and the wontons. The wings were really moist, sweet, savory, and crunchy. The shrimp dumplings were fried and perfectly seasoned. The broth for the wontons was delicious and the wonton filling was amazing. The edamame were zesty and spicy, I couldn't get enough. I had the Bruce lychee, it was spot on with a nice balance between sweet and tangy, exactly what I was hoping for. Atmosphere was great and it was not crowded when we went to visit. We're visiting and this place was near our hotel, so we decided to try it. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the ambience. The attention to detail is amazing; even the chopsticks and water pitchers were cool. I'm not an expert on ramen but have had it at places that are supposed to be some of the best in the country, and this place was just as good if not better than those. We tried the shrimp dumplings: while the skin was crispy, the inside filling was bland and desperately needed some salt. It was juicy and squirted out juice, but bland juice. Also ordered the noodle, that was good but portion was tiny. With the taro fries appetizer it costed 50 dollars, which is not a great deal considering the portion size and quality. Initially wanted to try the ice cream too but was so let down by the food that I decided that wasn't a good idea. Would not recommend if you are expecting excellent, satisfying food. We got the GFC Wings (amazingly crispy), the wontons (fair warning-they contain mint), the edamame (the seasoning salt is great) and pork ramen bowls.
