    Vegetable Pho
    Dee C.

Absolutely delicious! The tofu appetizer was so good, I decided to get the vegetable pho which came with more tofu. The pho had some of the best broth I've tasted in a Vietnamese restaurant! Cannot recommend the egg coffee enough, creamy beyond belief. The ambiance was classy and the service authentically warm. Ate here for my sister's birthday, and even though they didn't have desserts available on the brunch rotation, the server still found some Champaign so we could do a little toast! Above and beyond, tip your servers well

Love the atmosphere! Dinner and cocktails were also excellent. We tried the wings and crab fried rice. Highly recommend! We sat at the bar and service was pleasant.

I have heard some really great things about this place so I was able to swing by and check it out for myself. The restaurant decor is very lovely and well thought out from the vibrant colors and textures down to the tables and chairs. I was warmly greeted and my waitress provided some guidance with the menu options and shared with me some of her favorite dishes. She was great! I ordered the Beef Pho and lemonade. I feel a little bad when a restaurant is hyped up because it's beautiful and food is subpar but This is not the Case! The pho was delicious, it was flavorful, rich with tender slices of beef floating throughout the most delicious noodles. I just wish I had a larger stomach to try more dishes. I'll have to come back. This restaurant was a much needed change of pace for dining in Memphis.

My son and I popped in for a late lunch and had the place to ourselves. Super cool vibe. Service was outstanding. I had the beef pho and it was absolutely delicious. Delicate broth...healthy serving of beef too. Will def be going back. My son needs gluten free and the chef was very accommodating too. Bravo!

We had a GREAT experience. They left a lasting impression on me in every way and I can't wait to go back. Customer service? Impeccable! The decor is beautiful and all of the seating seems suitable for groups. The food was excellent! We ordered GỎI CUỐN, Fish sauce wings and the seasonal lobster dish on special at the time. Everything was GREAT! Some of the dishes we had were seasonal but maybe the manager/owner can comment with some details so that I can update the post.

Upscale Vietnamese spot with incredible drinks and great food. A little pricey, but backed up with the quality of what they deliver. Love all the decor, plus the servers are knowledgeable and make recommendations if you aren't familiar with Vietnamese.

Bao Toan Kitchen and Bar is located in the Crosstown Concourse, and it's a must-stop if you're looking for a modern Vietnamese restaurant. There is paid parking next to Crosstown Concourse, but there is also a free garage here as well (the first floor is free for the first two hours; however, the other floors above are unlimited free parking). Opened by a talented mother-daughter duo, this restaurant blends warmth with sophistication, creating a setting for a relaxed evening, a romantic date, or a special celebration. The décor, with its mix of reds, browns, and blacks accented by an Asian touch. I recommend securing a reservation through the Resy app or by giving the restaurant a call. Happy Hour: HH is on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 4-5 PM. 1. Beef Lettuce Wraps (5/5 - Herbs, Fish Sauce Nuoc Cham): Also available with a tofu vegan option. This dish came with three hearty lettuce wraps filled generously with beef. The balance of fresh herbs and fish sauce tied everything together. Every bite felt light yet satisfying. 2. Banh Khot (4/5 - Four Mini Turmeric Pancakes with Shrimp and Pork): A mushroom vegan option is also available. These golden, crispy-edged pancakes were fun to eat. The best way to enjoy them is to build your own wrap by layering the pickled vegetables, fresh cilantro, mint, and pancake dipped in the fish sauce. The contrast of textures and flavors made this dish stand out, and it was easily my second favorite of the evening. 3. Banh Mi Toasts (2/5 - Three Baguette Slices with Minced Shrimp, Mushrooms, Scallions, Cheese, and Kewpie Mayo): This was the one dish that didn't quite meet expectations. The flavors were mild, leaning more toward a creamy, cheesy toast than what you might imagine from something inspired by a traditional banh mi. Menu Item: 4. Ma's Ribs (4/5 - Lemongrass, Oyster Sauce, and Garlic): This dish featured three savory ribs. The lemongrass added a subtle citrusy brightness, while the oyster sauce and garlic gave the ribs a rich, umami depth. The service was great at the bar for happy hour. Our food came out in a timely fashion. Our waters never touched bottom. Would I come back? Yes, to try the main dinner menu.

Man, is the decor in this restaurant beautiful. They really thought about everything. It was gorgeous! As well as the bathroom ha The whole vibe was so fun and the staff we met were very nice and welcoming. Our waitress was very helpful with navigating the menu and gave suggestions as well. We had reservations for a Friday night, and I would recommend doing that, because they were relatively busy. The main downside of this restaurant is it's bit on the pricier side for the meal, as well as the drinks. So it wouldn't be an all the time place that I could visit for dinner. But my food was flavorful and I enjoyed it. I do wish it was a little cheaper for what I got, but no complaints on the meal

The place lit well for an intimate dinner. The service was excellent. The food was great. Started with raw oysters and the papaya salad. Both 5 stars. The hot sauce they bring out is good on everything. From there we had the Thit Kho comprised of slow braised pork belly' & quail eggs in a coconut caramel sauce. Such a great comfort food. We also split the Pad Kra Pow. So Good! Highly recommend this place

I really enjoyed Bao Toan which is located at Crosstown Concourse. This aesthetically pleasing restaurant caught my attention when the wait time was 2 hours when it first opened up. I finally was able to book a reservation to see what the hype was about. You will receive a text message the day before explaining the reservation expectations, they allow a 15 min grace period after your allotted time and you only have 2 hours to dine. So make sure you get there on time. Parking wasn't bad, levels 2-4 in the parking garage are free for 2 hours. My friend and I were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some recommendations to try. We ended up ordering food we could share such as the crab fried rice , spring rolls, and the fish sauce wings. Let me tell you, we left no crumbs !!! I've never had crab fried rice before, didn't know that was a thing. You receive a big bowl of rice topped with crab meat and a circle fried egg. I which was seasoned to perfection. The fish sauce wings were sweet, you didn't need any dipping sauce to eat it because it was using that good ! Next we had the spring rolls and you will have 3 of them. They are nice sizes to cut in half's honestly. The hype was real. From the decor to the food everything was 10/10

Bao Toan in Crosstown Concourse it is 110% worth checking out! My friends and I came and split a bunch of things to eat and we had an incredible experience! I cannot stop thinking about the food. We started with a house made baguette and butter. It was soo fluffy and delicious. We also got the temple tofu which is lemongrass tofu made daily at the Buddisht temple down the street. So fresh! Incredible. We also had the beef carpaccio which was slices of beef with Pho spices. Yum!! For entree we split Ma's Ribs, Thit Kho, and Banh Xeo. The ribs were sauced and charred and fell off the bone, very good! Thit Kho is saucy braised pork dish over rice with hard boiled egg. It was very tender and juicy - comforting dish made with love. Banh Xeo is an egg crepe stuffed with meat and vegetables that you dunk in sauce. It was divine! Our server was so helpful and made recommendations for what to order! Dessert was a Pandan (Asian vanilla) crème brûlée which was an amazing blend of crunch from the Brulé sugar and creamy from the custard. We licked the bowl clean- great flavor! The interior is beautiful with plush seating and gorgeous art! There are many spots for pictures inside and outside. There is a full bar with craft cocktails and Asian flavors. I would recommend this place for a date night, eating with a large group of friends, foodies, and those wanting to try something new! This is a great option for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free. The restaurant has its roots in Vietnamese immigration to the US and there's a beautiful story on the back of the menu. Overall, an incredible experience and I can't wait to come back! Welcome to Memphis Bao Toan!

The foods were pretty darn good! The fish sauce is flavorful compare to most other viet restaurant. The flavor profile was mainly made for the banh cuon. I guess more different profile of dip sauce is needed for each different dish. We ordered banh cuon, bo tai Chanh, bun cha Ha Noi, ma ribs, BT platter, banh xeo, bo luc lac and tiramisu, braised bass, tamarins crab, ube creme brûlée etc. The herbs were extremely fresh. The banh xeo and banh cuon batter is little too thick. It would have been perfect if it was thinner. The grill pork was a little dried. The Vietnamese tiramisu was phenomenal! The service was fantastic! The foods came out extremely fast! The atmosphere was great! I have been to this place 3 times. The quality of the foods and the service is extremely consistent!! Highest recommendation!!!!

Such an amazing experience here...they have it all! Excellent service and the waiter took time to go over the menu with us, since the offerings are not the typical Vietnamese plates. Everything was inventive and so delicious!

The Deviled Eggs and Crispy Gulf Oysters were good, but be mindful that the bacon marmalade is sweet if that's not how you want your deviled eggs. I loved the Flight of Salad - more than a small plate portion of 3 salads: Harvest Salad, Iceberg Wedge, and Watermelon Feta. I'm normally don't choose feta on dishes but it was mild (not salty) and a perfect refreshing combo with the watermelon, olive oil, and add fresh cracked pepper. Your palate could get confused with the different cuisines and flavor profiles, but it's a fun adventure and I would try again!

SOUP FLIGHT $14: Lobster bisque, She Crab (immature Blue female crab incl roe typically though this has no bright orange color) and Gumbo with rice. Portions are about a cup each and with the moreish sweet yeasty soft rolls, can easily fill you so pace and share! Gumbo was overly salty so gave that to my BILaw. ENTREE FLIGHT $16 Quail+$19 Redfish+$28 Elk Tenderloin When customizing your flight as I did the small plate price applies. Quail alone was filling, deboned in middle breast and thigh, as it's sweet spiced Creole stuffed and you get mini legs and wings to gnaw on. Like mini Thanksgiving. Took half home and actually ate on 'Flight' Home lol, it was just as tasty and far better than the pretzels haha! LA Redfish had a nice buttery panfried crusted and moist inside about 4oz with southern cheesy ham risotto topped with crab meuniere/browned butter. Elk Tenderloin medium rare as ordered, again great char, was naturally lean and tender, very tasty. A first for me, I would order over a regular steak tenderloin and only 1/2 fat! Killer deal :) Mac with asparagus spear was a tasty pairing. When server tells you 2-3oz Flight servings, in your mind it seems small but these were generous portions and easily fill you. I would share this after a salad or soup next time ;) Older menus point to the even more exotic ostrich, and Kangaroo loin, wow! But with Boar, Bison, Quail, Flounder, and Elk as current options, you can definitely dance around your less traveled palate. Definitely would return next time in Memphis and hunt down those exotics! Downed the hatch with a VINO Bel Glos FLIGHT Pinot Noir $18 spans the 3 premier cool climate CA AVAs-- Southern (Santa Maria Clark & Telephone) Central (Santa Lucia Balade) and Northern (Russian River Dairyman) liked this best but all deep rubys, cherry plum, some vanilla and spice. Very enjoyable flight. A shot of straight Sazerac Rye $10 and $4 Sweet Tea rounded off the table. Of course the guys went full hog entree, Shrimp & Grits $32 was the weakest of the plates as the shrimp were peeled and boiled? vs a more flavorful char & flavor or a spiced shell-on shrimp. Hubby was disappointed preferring my home made NoLo version. BIL's Veal Scalloppini $30 lemon caper butter and parm orzo, veggies really pleased him. It was more ordinary for my palate. All so stuffed thus passed on dessert but BIL took Key Lime Pie to go $7.50 reporting it was great next day. Server was attentive and friendly. Could use brushing up on menu, I had to look up the She Crab and Wine regions after asking. Waiting for a giant Fresh Pepper grind is a pain when it got busy, eventually brought us small grinder set to us. All the prices are very reasonable for the quality, white tablecloth ambience, elegant dining room with giant chandelier and darker woods while well lit with an upstairs tabled loft (although drab bathrooms could use some sprucing) downtown, AND importantly Valet parking, makes dining here such a breeze. Sidewalk patio for fair weather days too. Take FLIGHT and dine here, it'll make your girls giddy, Imma still flying high on my dining memories.

She carried this review up to the 3 I'm giving Non-Vintage. First of all, there was a severe deficiency of seating and staff for this event. No one greeted us when we entered, we moved chairs ourselves to make an accommodating space out of the way of the performers, and at no point did a member of staff take our order outside of waiting at the bar. The line for the bar was right in the way of the performers, and many people were forced to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order because there was only one bartender working. Another staff member had offered to help, and the bartender DECLINED, forcing us to continue to wait. I did try the wings and the charcuterie, they were good. I tried the nonalcoholic hibiscus drink and the nonalcoholic summer cooler drink. The summer cooler was much better in my opinion, but both were good nonalcoholic options. I think I would like to try this place when they are not hosting an event, I'm sure it's lovely when they are staffed appropriately for the shift. However, I was sorely disappointed tonight being forced to wait nearly an hour at the bar, missing parts of the show and on my feet for just a drink.
