There was a buzz about this place the minute we walked in. The savory Handmade dumplings and noodles were so good they just melt in your mouth. A labor of love in every bite. The mock tails and cocktails were yummy and refreshing. And Don't skip out on the dessert-It was the coolest dessert EVER! The food and service are good but they add 20% tip to all checks. Unfortunately, a lot of restaurants do this now but here that 20% goes to all employees, not just your waiter or waitress. Then, if you want to tip your waiter or waitress individual you have to leave an additional tip. 20% required tip that goes to all staff- at that point it's just the customer paying the staff's paycheck so the business doesn't have too. Having to leave an additional tip just to ensure it goes to your waiter or waitress is excessive. Staff should be paid a living wage by the restaurant itself and tips should work to serve their original purpose- an incentive for the worker and an option for the customer. read more

One of my new favorite spots in Memphis! All of the cocktails were delicious, especially the Bruce Lychee. We started with the wings and shrimp dumplings -- both amazing! -- and then tried two different noodle bowls for the main course. We ordered the shrimp and crawfish dumplings, spicy pork soup and chicken wings. The wings were the best! When I've been in the past the food was on point, however this time around we felt something was off. The soup had a strange Oder, noodles were undercooked, and to our surprise the dumpling were fried not soft( we could've asked our server about this though). All the food is made by scratch so maybe the cook was having a bad week, I'm not sure. The cocktails were great, but probably I won't be returning for the food. I went with my partner the other day and it was generally a bad experience. There is a 20% included gratuity on all checks, which as a customer, rubs me the wrong way. The customers should not be supplementing the wages of the workers on top of the bill, they should be paid livable wages regardless. This also removes any and all incentive to provide adequate service. We were seated on the heated patio, and after having our order taken, the ramen came out swiftly. This was one of the 3 times we interacted with our server in the 90 minutes we spent here. We were never even given chop sticks to eat our ramen, I had to grab them from a different table. I would've asked our server for chopsticks, but she almost never came outside to check on us. I had to ask a different worker for an extra cup for my tea, and then had to ask another server for the same cup because it never came to us. We had to ask yet another person for our check because our server hardly saw us. The service does not deserve any stars at all, and absolutely did not deserve the 20% gratuity that was included. The dumplings were $12, but with the 20% included gratuity that raises them to $14.50, for only 5 dumplings that were generally completely tasteless. Not to mention they took over an hour to come out. The only positive was that because of this they were comped, but I absolutely would not pay $15 for those dumplings in the future. The hibiscus tea was great, and the ramen was wonderful. These are really the only things that deserved a star. Would not recommend eating in, but getting it to go would most likely be okay, as long as you skip the overpriced dumplings. read more

This is a cute restaurant in downtown Memphis. Surprisingly, we didn't have any noodles, but the wings and desert were so delicious! I promise, I would go back just to have those wings again. Super cute place downtown. My s/o and I got their charred edamame, impossible meat dumplings, chicken based ramen, and pork based ramen. For drinks, we got Bruce Lychee, Passionate, and the lavender nonalcoholic cocktail. The charred edamame was delicious! It was an interesting take on the typical style. The dumplings were also delicious! Chicken ramen was great for me! I added kimchi and the remaining chilli paste/oil from my dumplings for additional heat. My s/o got the pork ramen and was pretty "meh" about it. The noodles in the ramen are thick. I liked it, but he prefers thinner noodles. He also did not particularly like the crumbled meat in his ramen bowl. Said it was like "taco ramen." Lol. ALLLL our cocktails were outstanding. Highly recommend! I took a star off the review because of two thing. One, the bar seating on the end should not actually be bar seating. There's no room for your legs/knees, so it was rather uncomfortable. And two, the staff, although they were not rude, they definitely weren't super friendly. It won't deter me from coming back, but it's something worth noting. I've been waiting a long time for a quality Asian restaurant in Memphis and Good Fortune Company has delivered it! My gf and I had the Ramen last night and the quality and taste were so apparent. The service was a 10/10 and I am just so happy with the indoor and outdoor seating. I witnessed the owner going to individual tables to check and see how the customers enjoyed the food and service and everyone was very pleased. This is a very new spot on South Main where the old SOB used to be. The chicken wings were pretty amazing!! I highly recommend that. We got free Taro fries while waiting on the rest of our order. The only complaint that I have about the taro fries was that there wasn't enough sauce on them. The shrimp dumplings were okay. I wished there was more flavor to it. We ordered the honky tonkatsu. I was expecting a little bit more flavor. I think it would have been much better if there was a hint of spicy. Would not recommend this place. The chicken ramen was beyond bland, the noodles were hard, and the portion was small for the price. Shrimp dumplings were filled with veggies and could barely taste the shrimp in the dumpling. Taro fries were mediocre and does not have much texture or flavor. The only decent item on the menu was the GFC wings because of its crunch but the sauce was a little too sweet. Again, would not recommend. read more

The service is great. The menu is small and I am not a fan of spicy food so I found choices very limited. We had the shrimp dumpling which were good but small. Very fresh tasting. We had the poke. The raw tuna was OK. The dish was bland and needs something more added to it. Maybe a rice base or something. Then we had the ramen in pork broth. It was disappointing. Maybe 1 cup of noodles total swimming in a so so broth. The 3 pieces of meat on top were flavorless and fatty. I will take a pass on this restaurant in the future. read more

She gave insider knowledge on the menu and helped me make a unique noodle bowl that wasn't quite on the menu. Great atmosphere, amazing service, but even better food! The charred edamame is absolutely incredible. We ordered the pork wontons, which were also fabulous. Both the hawker's style and tan tan noodles were so delicious. We were both full, but had to top it off with the Taiyaki ice cream and it was well worth it. Everything was made with the freshest ingredients and was wonderful! It's nice to have a restaurant that is diligent about fresh ingredients and quality food. Service is also above and beyond! This is the first review I have ever made of a restaurant, I was so shocked at what my experience looked like while dining at good fortune that I had to create an account. My daughter and I ate there a few days ago and as we waited for our food we noticed that the, I believe to be, manager grabbed/groped the younger men that were serving and they looked to be very uncomfortable. I have never seen anything like that anywhere I have dined at before. The fact that he does it in public shows that he doesn't get repercussions for it.
