Great job! Very professional. These guys charge a little bit more than a lot of places, but you get the best job and a job done right. The install was flawless and Brian walked me through ever detail including TV placement. I have an old stereo console that I retrofitted to stream music and play records. It has a lid that opens up from the top so, with me wanting my sound bar and tv above that presented a small challenge. Brian was able to make this happen and it all looks amazing. See picture for details. Best part is they think ahead when installing wires. I don't have cable or a DVR at this time and I only stream, but like Brian said, that could change one day, so now I have that option as he installed some extra wires for me. Cleanup was good and Brian covered my floor and stereo console with thick blankets to protect everything while he was making his access holes. After that, he cleaned up everything. Another great thing is they offer a military discount and as a veteran, it was nice to be able to use that. Brian was very professional and friendly. My facility used their service to install security cameras. It has been a disappointing experience. There have been issues with the connection of our cameras and without physically taking a look at the problems, they tell me the problem is with the network. I've had our IT guys come to the facility and have troubleshoot on their end but they continue to advise me to reach out to Good Guys for help. I have asked for their help several times and have even offered to pay for them to just take a look and guide me on the problem but I have either received really frustrated responses or no response at all. Pros: * Customer Service: The gal (sorry can't remember your name) on the phone not only took her time answering all my questions, she went into further detail about my options and cost comparisons. She was able to move some scheduling conflicts and accommodate my 6:00 pm meeting request so I didn't have to wait for a Saturday appointment. * Hours: After work hours (after 5:00 pm on a week day for us office-folk) is a HUGE plus. * Installers: Matt and Chris were on time, professional and polite. They took their time meticulously with each step of the instillation process, assuring clean and precise measurements and vantage points. They confirmed my wants and preferences each step of the way - making sure I would be satisfied with the height and placement of my TV. * Above and beyond: As I was emptying some moving boxes in the trash bin outside my home, one of the installers (can't remember Matt or Chris, sorry!) actually offered to cut up the boxes for me and placed them in the bin to they fit. * Experience: Before any cutting or drilling, I was educated on exactly what would be ideal for my walls, space and electrical set up. They didn't go with the most expensive option, just to make a buck. * Cost: My final bill was less than what was quoted (because they suggested I wait to purchase a sound bar that would work better with the mounted TV), so again - I was very happy they didn't just try to make the most money by doing something that was not ideal to my current set up. * Clean: The work area was left spotless. * Time: Although they took their time with the installation to assure all was perfect, the overall appointment was fast and efficient. It's unfortunate how bad of a reputation this company has because of the prior review. My experience with Good Guy Installs was nothing less than extraordinary. I had recently purchased my first flat panel television and didn't want to mess anything up trying to install it with my fumbling fingers. I found some information online and decided to give them a call. To begin with, the reception was very friendly. I told her that I was interested in getting everything installed and buying a mount and she gave me a quote over the phone and even told me that she could have someone over on the same day! I let her know that I had an appointment later on in the day so she even asked the technician to rush over for me! In no time, we had our "Good Guy" over to help me with our installation. We chatted over some possible scenarios for building my entertainment system and let me in on some possible deals that I could take advantage of. I found Good Guy Installs on Craigslist and saw that they had some favorable reviews here on Yelp. The package they offered sounded like a great deal so I called to schedule an appointment. Lisa picked up the phone and couldn't have been nicer. She even picked up my call while she was out at lunch. They squeezed me in for a time slot for the following day for a 55" LED and sound bar mounting above my fireplace. Lisa told me that she would text me shortly before the guys would arrive at my place which is great service since I don't have to wait around the house for them. Chris and Brian arrived as scheduled and did an amazing job with the mounting. The previous owners did a horrible job of mounting above the fireplace last time and actually made today's task a little more difficult to do but Chris and Brian figured out a way to conceal the wires and mount everything perfectly. Chris even noticed that I had a Kinect that he could place underneath the sound bar and run through the wall. I didn't even think of that and it made perfect sense. I'm really happy how it turned out and even happier with the quality of service I received from this place. They were clean, courteous, and very knowledgable. I've been trying to get some assistance on a security camera install. I spoke with Lisa on the phone and she told me to take some pics of my current DVR and they will get back to me on how to get a solution to my issue. I was hesitant to use another tv mounting company from Yelp as I didn't have the best experience a little over a year ago, but reading these reviews, I went for it...and I needed two TVs mounted like the next day. I sent a message at 8:38 pm (they close at 9pm) and my message was answered within 20 minutes with prices. It was easy to schedule using the message system and I had someone come out the next day. Brian called when he was on his way with an ETA. He was friendly, thorough, and so efficient! We were looking for a knowledgeable company to do an outdoor security camera install and we found Good Guy Installs here on yelp. This company was one of four that I found on here. Chris came out, looked at what I wanted to do and made some suggestions. He even gave me some advise to look for on other installation quotes as far as using a certain type of camera connection wire with the cameras that was out dated. They gave me a great quote with the best quality cameras and equipment. Lisa who works in the office was great! She always was willing to help by answering all my questions and changes. Chris and his team came and did the in entire instal in two days. they were neat, cleaned up after themselves and the project was seamless. I had two minor issues after installation. One we handled over the phone with Chris who walked me through the process (which was good because I learned some things about the system). The second issue was a camera not turning on at night. Chris came right out the next day and fixed the problem ASAP. Now I can watch my cameras from home or away on my phone, pad or laptop, day or night. I saw the 4.5 star review on yelp, so I decided to give this company a try, what a big mistake that was. If u will notice, half of their 5 star reviews are by people who have written 2-3 yelp reviews ever. That's a good sign that they are friends and family reviews. I hired them to install security cameras in my house (I had already purchased a set from Costco). Upon them arriving to give me a quote, the install Chris (we will get to him later) convinced me that I'm betting off returning my set to Costco and buying a set from them, and this way they would be able to warranty everything (as its their product and their installation), so I did so. I paid about three times as much for their camera set as I had for the Costco set, but that was okay because they told me these are much nicer cameras with the newest technology (IP cameras). I ordered everything else from them as well (a DVR, a lockbox for the DVR, a battery back up, etc.) All the paperwork and payments were arranged with a lady named Lisa (we will get to her later too) she was very nice at first, and helpful answering any questions I had. I paid it all up front, in cash ($3,200) the day they came to install the entire system. The first bad sign is when they arrived 2.5 hours late (Lisa did call 30 minutes after they were supposed to arrive to tell me that they would be a bit late, so it wasn't a big deal). The two installers who showed up (Chris and someone else who I don't know) were Very messy and dirty, I had to ask them multiple times to take off their shoes, as I had brand new hardwood floors and nobody wore shoes in my house (they kept going from outdoors to indoors). During the install they seemed confused a few times on how to set up a couple parts of the system, but I didn't think much of it. Finally the finished the set up and left, it wasn't till about a week later that I noticed they had drilled a hole into my BRAND NEW hardwood floors in one of the guest rooms, without ever asking me if its okay (as I would have 100% said NO). They did this in order to run a wire through it (I am placing a pic of it on their photos page, so please take a look). They had also drilled a small hole in the ceiling twice, since they didn't put the first one in the right spot (also pictured) but that wasn't as big of a deal, just shows that they are anything but professionals. Some time passed and the system was working fine, then all of a sudden the cameras all went down one night, and later on I could hear the DVR resetting (a distinct beep sound coming from the attic) and the DVR would reset every 5-10 minutes. I called them, told them, they came out a few days later and changed out the DVR. It happened a second time about a month or two later. They scheduled me for an appointment on a Tuesday from 9-11AM, no word from them at all, until 11:45 when i got a text message saying they have to reschedule. They couldn't have told me this before i sat there waiting for 3 hours. A couple months later the DVR went down a third time. The first two times they replaced, the third time they said that there is nothing they can do and that i must be doing something to make it malfunction. why would i want my cameras to be down for weeks at a time???? i have nothing to gain from it. the truth of the matter is that they aren't professionals, they really don't know much about the systems they install. Chris (the supposed installer) didn't know how to take a DVR out of sleep mode. how do u not know how to take a DVR that you are selling and installing as "professional company" out of sleep mode???? Also, the IR (part that lets the cameras see at night time) wasn't working properly on one of the cameras, they tried telling me nothing was wrong with it (when it was near pitch black at night, this is also shown in the photo section)... After the DVR went down the third time, they wouldn't answer my calls anymore, and they wouldn't return any calls on the multiple messages i left (probably cuz they already had my money and didn't know how to fix their own equipment). So i started calling from a blocked number, and they would answer everything for a week, but would keep saying they are trying to find time to have someone come see me. but i knew they were just blowing me off. We had one final conversation when Lisa said i must be the problem when i asked for a new installer to come, because Chris said he didn't know how to take the DVR out of sleep mode, and i wanted somebody who knew how to do that. That's when Lisa lost her cool, and said they aren't dealing with me anymore and that the owner will call me. Funny thing, cuz i started doing some research, and Chris (the supposed installer) is the owner! According to other yelp reviews Lisa is Chris's wife, and Chris's cousin is their other employee. This isn't a legitimate company, they are a 3-4 person chop shop of a company which poses as some big installation company. DO NOT get any cameras installed by them, check out my pics read more

What a nightmare of a company!! I spent over 25k (cash payments) for security cameras and 3 home theater systems to be installed in my house for a job they never completed. Lisa Lechuga, (the receptionist by the way who is also the owner's wife) is a complete liar!! Lisa kept saying they would be out to finish the work and after FOUR appointments later for which they never showed up for, they finally stopped replying to email as well as phone calls. Finally, when contacted by my lawyer as to why they have not finished the job, Lisa told my lawyer that one of their employees was in the hospital. Good Guy Installs present themselves as a big business; however, try to find a storefront. Good luck. They have no storefront because their business is run out of their house with workers who are hired by the day i.e. their cousins. In summary, if you want a job half complete, run by a bunch of incompetent liars be my guest and hire them. LOL. One of their workers also stole an ipad and a change jar worth $800 in quarters while they were here. I guess I would be embarrassed to show my face back at the place where one of my workers errr my cousin stole something from one of my clients. Too bad there are not negative stars because this is where this company belongs. read more

These guys are amazing - no joke. I have a built-out fireplace that was an addition (meaning it carries no structural support, and no studs) in the corner of my living room, and instead of the run-around or "flat-only" mounts offered by others, they said, "no, we can do it - we'll use our industrial strength mount and build some studs for you." At 4:30pm on a Thursday, Chris and his apprentice drove to a local lumber yard, cut the wood, and within 30 minutes had opened the drywall and were building the support I needed for the full-motion mount I wanted. They did the electrical work, wiring, installation, drywall refinishing, at it looks INCREDIBLE. 3 hours after they arrived, we had the TV set-up exactly how we had imagined, and could not be happier. Sturdy, safe, and a perfect look for our house. I can't recommend these guys enough - and the price was phenomenal (including a nice military discount for my husband!). Five stars, hands down! Lisa responded to my initial inquiry within 5 minutes of responding to the ad. She called me and was extremely thorough about what options I had and what situations I may run into based on the location of where our television was going to be mounted. So I really appreciated the honesty. Often times, businesses try to lure you in by pitching a low quote and when they finish or are there add on fees and things they did not disclose prior. I liked that they also used a dryvac along the way of installation catching the debris of drilling and drywall. It was absolutely thoughtful and less work on the back end for us. I live on the 28th floor and they knew immediately that there were steel beams in the walls and not wooden studs. I ordered their basic installation and they were able to work around my work schedule for a 6pm appointment. Chris was slightly late due to traffic but they called me to keep me updated and that was very nice. Chris did a fantastic job. He's a perfectionist, making sure that everything is completely level down to the pixel. Even though I only bought the basic installation service, Chris decided to throw in a conduit for wires for free. He was always looking out for my best interests. good guy helped to install the home surveillance cameras in my home. They recommend an analog over IP cable config which seem to be a good trade off for future upgrade. The install crew is professional. I am happy with the initial installation. My main problem with them is after service. One of the channel went black after several weeks. The technician came over and determined that one of the camera malfunction and need replacement. Since then, I have not heard from them. I tried email but no reply. when I called the main number, it always went to voicemail. It has been more than 1.5 month and I still could not get anyone to response. frustrating. read more

They arrived early which was fine with me, and installed my TV in my media cabinet and connected all of my peripherals in about 45 minutes which seemed crazy fast to me. Major case of Buyers Remorse with this company. I wish I had checked the Better Business Bureau and noticed their "F" rating and 3 complaints in the last 2 years before hiring them. We're finishing a major remodel/addition and we hired P+L Consulting (dba Good Guy Installs in Long Beach and Perfected Innovations in Ladera Ranch) to pre-wire our house and install stereo equipment purchased through them (receiver, recessed speakers, outdoor speakers, universal remote, etc). We've worked with dozens of contractors over the last year and this is the only company that has refused to deliver the equipment and perform the work that was in our contract. Here's some info from our case, hopefully it helps the next person... - We have paid for 75% of the job, however, I have not received ANY of the major equipment (receiver, speakers, remote, etc) in our contract or any delivery confirmation that the equipment is on its way. - It takes 4-6 weeks to get a spot in their calendar. - The mounting brackets for our recessed speakers (installed by Good Guys) are unbalanced and vary 15"-21" from the wall. This was not done for enhanced audio, but was an installation error. - The recessed speakers in our contract are $325 each, the speakers delivered by Good Guys are $119 each. They are also too big for the mounting brackets that were installed by Good Guys. I have repeatedly asked for the speakers in the contract to be delivered and offered to pay an additional progress payment upon delivery. Good Guys has refused to deliver the correct speakers due to "an unexpected price increase", however, the MSRP on these speakers has not changed since our contract was signed. - We incurred additional expenses from an electrician and carpenter because Good Guys delivered incorrect equipment and marked incorrect locations for installation - Any extra work performed by Good Guys outside our contract was paid for immediately - I refused to pay any invoices for work that had not been performed - I requested equipment / templates that would facilitate a smooth install and Good Guys did not deliver either - Good Guys has referenced a max install of 3 days, however, this does not appear in our contract. IMO, this could have been possible if they showed up before 11am with the correct equipment - We had to reschedule once with 1 day notice because my wife had pink eye and our 1 year old had the flu; the earliest they could fit us in was 5 weeks later - Good Guys didn't show up the day of an install after I confirmed the appointment twice; the day before the appointment and the morning of the appointment - According to Lisa, the owner (Jerry) "decided to pull the plug" on our job - I have contacted Lisa and Jerry 3 times and have not had a response - Good Guys has stopped requesting the final 25% payment, however, it will cost me more than that to finish the job and I still haven't received over $3,000 in equipment. Good Guy Installs is very unprofessional and I would not recommend them. If you decide to use their services, get EVERYTHING in writing and document your files. read more

I called a different business for my flat screen installation a few weeks prior and they cancelled same day. So I ended up finding these guys on yelp. They had a slot open for me the following week. The day of the installation they called me to tell me they would be a little early. I arrived home and they were already there waiting outside patiently. The guys were professional and polite. They ask what I wanted in regards to the shelf location. They also helped with suggestions as well and I'm glad they did bc I obviously don't know anything about flat screen aesthetics. They also provided the TV mounts for way less than in stores. Saved $80 alone just purchasing the mounts with them. They're affordable, professional, experienced and definitely fast. read more

I must say, "Good Guy Installs" are really about their professionalism, and they do it well. Having zero prior knowledge or insight into the television mounting and installation world, I feel beyond fortunate to have found GGI as my first option. Operating on my gut instinct, I called them and was warmly greeted by Lisa - personable and extremely helpful. In this initial-phase of my appointment setting, Lisa went above and beyond to make me understand that I was a valued customer, and that they'd be with me every step of the way. This remained consistent during the time preceding the install, as well as the time following it. Brian and Chris were extremely cordial and professional, and I was happy to have them. They were warm and informative, and went above and beyond to ensure that I was completely satisfied with my install - even teaching me a few important tips along the way. I can't imagine having an easier, more pleasant experience. If you want great service with a smile, I wouldn't even bother recommending anything else. I decided I wanted my new 50 inch flat screen mounted correctly and without all the wires showing. I called on Thursday morning, and they fit me in Thursday at noon. Amazing. Chris and Brian were super nice, helpful, knowledgeable, and made me feel at ease that they were going to make it look exactly how I wanted it. And they did. I would definitely recommend this company if you want your TV mounted and installed professionally. They also saved me money by using their mount, instead of the one I bought for 40 bucks more at Costco. Really great customer service. read more
