Today (Palm Sunday) we had a leak in the part of the roof Mike hadn't originally installed. I gingerly texted Mike to ask his advice. What I got back was well more than anything I could have expected. Mike called to tell me his supervisor, Travis, was already en route to our house. I then got a call from Travis saying he was twenty minutes out. 18 minutes later, he was at the door. He reviewed the leak inside, got his ladder and climbed up the roof and within ten minutes, was back down and showing me pictures of where he'd determined a dryer vent had let water in. Mike called me back to tell me he had a team he could send. Now. I told him it's Palm Sunday, I don't want to take your guys away from their families. Mike said, they are busy all week, this is my best chance to get this fixed. It won't take more than four hours. I agreed and within an hour, there they were at the door, ready to go. They cleared the tile, laid proper under layers - three layers in total. Then buttoned it all up again and were done within two and a half hours. I got a full set of pictures from Mike explaining every step of what was done. All this would be great on a weekday. But a Sunday? Palm Sunday? I am just in awe. From a customer perspective, it's like having a choice of hiring superheros like Mike and his team, or saying no thank you - I prefer the usual sheisters and snake oil salesmen that typically make up the roofing business. You can spin the wheel and take your chances - but for me - I just feel damn lucky to have found someone who provides this level of service and this quality of work all for a really modest price.

We were impressed with Meal as he clearly explained the roofing process, warranties, brought materials that we could see and feel and provided us with a list of neighbors that used them. We reached out to a few neighbors who were pleased with their job. We wanted the roofing job to start after hurricane season but it was started earlier. The new very heavy cement tiles were stacked on the roof when hurricane Helene & Milton were passing us by. I reached out to Evans with our concerns and the following morning our stacks were secured with metal ties. Our roof was completed as detailed. The new roof looks beautiful. We were connected with a painter to touch up our walls, a screen repairman to replace our torn screens and a gutter company. Our only issue was that we often were not informed about what was happening next. For example, we would have moved our car away from the house and juggled things around had we known when deliveries were coming. A trailer was moved in front of our garage and we had to have it moved so we could move our car. The owner's response was just have a stucco guy cover it. That really ticked me off. I am having another roofer change the plywood and the fascia, not covering the mess. I understand the rotten fascia is my responsibility but not the rotten plywood above it. Below is a photo of the rotten plywood taken from below where the crumbled fascia created a big gap and a photo from the roof when another contractor was replacing it and sealing everything so that the rain water flows into the gutter and not on the fascia board. If you are so keen on hiring this contractor I would recommend having a backup to take care of the mess afterwards.
