This week, I learned to never let a chip in your windshield go unattended for over a year. What started off as minor dent in the glass suddenly and unexpectedly turned into a foot-long crack across the whole window! Alarmed, I contacted several auto glass companies via Yelp, and Good Hands Auto Glass was the cheapest option available. Due to the size of the damage, the glass was beyond repair, so the whole thing needed to be replaced. After a response of my previous post I decided to delete it and rewrite my post as I had unwillingly upset and disappointed the owner. My 1st paragraph of my original post was positive addressing the quick, neat manner which the windshield was replaced. My sole complaint is with the manufacturer. The picture shows the problem whereby a piece of glass under the rear view mirror bracket broke off of the windshield. I wouldn't have expected something like this to happen. Failing to mention Herson came and remedied the problem reattaching the mirror expeditiously and at no charge was not an omission intended to disparage him. My point was to address my disappointment and frustration with what had occurred and the manufacturer does not offer a warranty which was explained to me prior to the installation. I got my windshield replaced and so far so good! Had quick and friendly responses from Herson on Yelp for a quote and when booking my appointment over the phone. Only have a couple of issues not regarding my windshield. I had an appointment for 9 am so I made an appointment at 8:30 when they opened so I had time to get back to work. Nobody was there still at 8:45 so I called and he was there within 5 minutes to take my car so I could rush back to work. Secondly, I received this quote via Yelp: "Sure you are looking at $155 including parts and labor with a lifetime warranty on the workmanship". When on the phone we confirmed the price and I even asked to make sure they take card. I was then charged $168.95 (which I assume is the $155 plu tax). I was informed the price was for cash only which I wasn't informed and had I known I would have been happy to stop at the ATM on the way there. Yes, it's only $14 but it's the principle that just bothers me when it comes to customer service. Other then that, window looks great and I plan to get a car wash next week. Got my car in to do a windshield repair on Friday afternoon on 04.27.2018. It was a corner star-type crack that was located on the driver side, bottom area right above the black coloring barrier. The crack was no more than 1/2 inch in length and width. I Initially contacted to see if this could be repaired, however there was a risk that it may crack more and need to be replaced. I decided that take that risk to see if it can be down. He was able to repair my windshield, although it did crack a little more downwards. I was verbally told and reassured that although it had crack a little more downwards (towards the black coloring barrier), it would not spread inwards. The drive home from work was perfectly fine. On Saturday afternoon when I intended to drive my car, I saw that the repair did not hold up and there was a crack inwards on my windshield. The crack was about 8 inches or more. I didn't even drive my car once I got home and woke up to see this. I took pictures right away and decided not to drive my car the rest of the weekend. I live in Arcadia, so it was not a valid option for me to commute to this place with that increase risk on my windshield while on the freeway. This morning I had to get it replaced around 8:00am near my home before heading to work. When I came back here to get a refund on this repair job (since it did not hold up like he verbally said it would), he refused, stating that there is no warranty on rock chip repairs and that unfortunately it can still crack after having a rock chip repair...even though he verbally stated otherwise. Thanks for notifying me after the matter had already happened. So not only did I not get a refund, but he lied as well to his services and performance.
