Great waterfront vibe, lots of "non-beer" to choose from! I'm far from a beer-connoisseur, but the beers (and ciders) were actually quite good. They DO have liquor as well, so, even if beer isn't your thing, the food, full bar, and awesome vibe are worth the trip! Sit outside on the water where the full breeze doesn't let up. Continuing my quest for good authentic fish and chips in the Sarasota area I had the misfortune to try them today at Good Liquid Brewery in Lakewood Ranch. I should have realized on entry that due to the obnoxious smell in the restaurant this would not be paradisiac. The fish(supposedly haddock) it probably was but tasted like any white fish was served as several small pieces some round some square some just batter with no fish inside. The 'chips' were skinny pieces of long cold potatoes. Service was polite but minimal. They need to get rid of the smell read more

Decided to try this place out and was pretty disappointed. Clean with good ambiance inside. We were sat outside though because of a larger party (totally understandable of course). We were told there were heaters but 3 heaters were at the other end of the patio with another large party. 5 other heaters outside the patio and not turned on. It was about 55 degrees outside. The hostess promised to bring some heaters to us, then disappeared. Finally my husband asked our server about halfway thru the meal for the heater. He brought one over but the flame went out and didn't provide heat, he left it that way. My friend played around with it and got it going again herself. Even so our group of 10 only got 1, when the other group of 8 had 3. Obviously not a problem you'd face with normal Florida weather. The service was so-so. The food was not good, even kids meals. I ordered crab cake which was all bread. My son's grilled cheese had no butter on it when grilled and black as can be on the edges. Hamburger buns also burnt black around the edges. Chicken breading is just like flour and soda water with no seasoning or flavor. The good things were: pretzels with beer cheese and fries. I ordered 2 cocktails which were not how they appeared on their IG page (okay maybe they changed them). The first one was weak and the 2nd one was fine. I had asked the server to recommend a sweet drink and neither drink was sweet at all. First one just tasted like soda water though it said it had sprite. Overall, a bad experience and I probably won't try again. I do think it has potential which is why I gave it 2 stars. The view is nice and there is a playground nearby. Indoor tables mostly seemed to be high top so not very kid friendly. read more

CALL 24 hours in advance to make a reservation! Otherwise you are going to wait over an hour to get a table if you're trying to visit on a Friday or Saturday night. Even after we were finally seated, the service was slow and it took forever for our food to reach our table. And when it did, it was cold! The cheese on my sandwich was barely melted, and the truffle fries just taste like regular fries (so don't be fooled!). Even during your long wait, you can't just go up to the bar like a regular place. They have a LINE to place your drink order, so you're just waiting for something else. And the service there wasn't much better. Maybe it'll get better once more restaurants open at Waterside. For right now, it seems like the main attraction. Good for their business (more money), but awful for long waits. read more

We've been fairly regulars of this establishment since it opened. Ordered carry-out to enjoy with family at the nearby Pavillion. VERY disappointed with the BBQ salad. For one, there was no BBQ sauce/dressing. Secondly, the lettuce was all the 'base' as I'll call it of the Romaine. The salad was white to light green at best. Won't order that again (for carryout, I can send back ordering inside). Nothing like the picture on their website. The onion rings were nothing of a tower (ok I know it's carryout), but not of the same thickness or quantity. Pizza was delicious as always. Salads DEFINITELY need improvement. this place was great when they first opened, and perhaps dining in is fine. i work at Waterside, so I get to go from here somewhat often. as of recently, the quality and service has gone down hill. every time i get a to go order, i have to ask them to put silverware in the bag (it should already be included on a to go). they put my fries in a paper bag so the oil and grease leaks through. i asked them if i could get some ketchup and they told me they were out of all to go condiments (on a Sunday at 1pm?) $7 to add 4 small pieces of chicken to a salad. there's only one or two hostesses that are even remotely friendly, and you usually have to wait at an empty counter for a few minutes just to get them to come. the food is fine, but it's unfortunate that the service isn't up to par with what you would expect given the prices and location. read more

We recently returned here to have dinner because we had not been there in a little while based on the food quality we were experiencing that kept changing from visit to visit. While our waiter did an awesome job, we are very disappointed in the declining food quality each time we return. There are several meals that we enjoy there as well as appetizers. What we continue to notice is that the meals are getting smaller, ingredients are no longer in the appetizer(s) or meal(s) that actually set it apart and made it a higher quality dinner. The black and blue burger as well as the brussels sprouts quality/ offering s have declined so much with this meal that we will no longer be ordering them and don't plan on returning there anytime soon. There are far too many better places going up all the quality here is going down to give us a reason not to have to revisit there anytime soon. It is a shame because it has been one of our favorite spots that we always like to go and have dinner. read more

I dined here on the patio with my husband and 19-month-old daughter yesterday. The family at the table behind us had a large dog that appeared to be a Rottweiler, on a leash, attached to the table. When the owner was ready to leave, he loosened the dog's leash from the table. The dog got loose and ran under my daughter's high chair to get food scraps. My daughter screamed and was terrified. I was also alarmed to have the dog at my feet. This ruined our meal. Please reconsider your policy of allowing people to bring their dogs to a supposedly family-friendly dining venue--especially when people can't control their dogs. read more

We enjoyed Good Liquid! It's only a couple months old, but already crowded and reservations need to be planned a week ahead of time (or more). First the important stuff - beer. They brew their own obviously, and have probably more than a dozen on tap (I didn't count). I also do not believe they sell other beers, just their own, which is fine, since they have many good choices. I had an IPA and then their Kellerbeer, both were very good. I had a pizza which was excellent. I could only eat half of it, because it was so big, even though it was delicious. Now the notsogood. Our waiter was hustling and very good, but he was stretched a little too thin. They really could use another server or 2, with the crowds their bringing in. The other minus is the back of Good Liquid faces directly west. Nice sunset, but for all of dinner it was like a lazer beam on us. We are from Michigan and every time we're are in the area, which is one or twice a year. We would make a point to go to Good Liquid in Bradton. It was was a Mecca for sours and they were GREAT and they had several on tap. We are here and went to the new location 45 minute drive, we were bummed. There were two sours on tap and we had both of them before. We were not there for food, but the wait was 45 mins to an hour for two. We've been to GLB Co several times now and have had an outstanding experience every time. The location in LWR is great...but even better is the food, the atmosphere, and the service is outstanding. We're most impressed with the consistency of each of our dining experiences which is clearly a result of a great team working with great management. We had the pleasure of celebrating New Year's Eve here as well as my fiancés 55th birthday last Saturday night and we've been so impressed that we're planning our wedding reception with them this summer. Our friends live in the waterside apartments in Lakewood Ranch, where the brewery is located. If we lived here, it would be a dangerous situation because we'd be here every day. How convenient to have an amazing brewery right in your own complex. We had the jalapeño mac & cheese for an appetizer, which was very good and highly recommended. My husband had the cheeseburger and french fries, which was very big, juicy and tasty. I had the salmon entrée, which was amazing, so tender and tasty with a perfect glaze on top but priced on the high side. I am a craft beer fan, and I found one of the best tasting beers here. I had the jalapeño mixed berry. I will definitely be back for this! The waitress was amazing and she also gave me a bananas foster dessert for my birthday on the house. There were other desserts to choose from as well. If you're lucky, you will see the neighborhood alligator like we did in the beautiful lake that the restaurants sits on. read more

We arrived and there was a 40 min wait so we got a beer and waited outside. It was a gorgeous day so we were in no hurry. We were seated exactly 40 mins later and Louie introduced himself to us as our waiter. We asked him for recommendations for food and he told us the croquettes were good and we wanted the meatballs so we got both. Both were exceptional! Then we asked about recommendations for food and he recommended the Shrimp & Chicken dish He explained that it was a Cuban or Dominican dish and was very good. We took his word for it and both ordered the same thing. We were not disappointed! Again, it was exceptional! The entire dining experience was perfect. He had casual conversation with us, attended to our every need, and continued to service his other tables. We never felt rushed or like we weren't an important guest. He said this was his first waiter job, but he worked in a kitchen prior...you would never know it. He was 100% on point and we had a delightful day! Before leaving we asked to speak to a manager so we could compliment the service and Ron, the assistant manager came over. We couldn't say enough good things about Good Liquid, the food and our waiter Louie. He was very pleased we had a good experience. Sitting on the beautiful patio was also a plus!! We did make a reservation just in case but it wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon. Had a great Birthday dinner for my MIL. The food was good, staff very friendly, beer is great. We had 18 of us. (Out of 28 family members) we had a reservation for 7pm. We had to wait about 15 minutes. Only problem we had was that an area wasn't set up for us and tables weren't next to each other. Wish they didn't sit people at the table next to our big table. So we all could of been together, especially when we had kids with us. Hoping they figure out a new way to make sure families sit together. Especially a big party that had a reservation.
