I have just recently moved to Atlanta and I called this barber shop since it was right down the street for a haircut when I called I asked specifically if they have a master barber with a license that works here the girl that answered the phone lied to me and told me that the owner was a master barber She later called me to tell me that the appointment was rescheduled and I proceeded to ask again about the master barber license A different guy got on the phone very aggressive and argumentative with me and started to tell me that i might be looking for an instructors license and did not know what a master Barber was... When I got there I sat down and waited for the actual barber to show up and the guy that was aggressive with me on the phone started to ask me questions in the shop in a vindictive and instigative way because he and the other girl had been gossiping about what I wanted to pay for before I got there. More so he was trying to impress the girl And had this black on black disrespectful behavior about it.. Long story short after my haircut the girl was very rude to me and ghetto in front of the owner who allowed it to happen.. Because they had been talking about it before I got there so he intentionally messed up the back of my head.. It made me feel as if barbers don't care about service And if they misunderstand something through ignorance they will take it out on you through your haircut even if they are wrong you'll be stuck with a fucked up Haircut for two weeks The owner appeared to be very respectful as he cut my hair but when I look at the back of my head and I look at the other cuts that he has done this looks like it was very intentional because I did ask for a shadow fade. And this is something that some barbers will do which is also vindictive to customers. Most black barbers in the south feel they can treat you anyhow if they think you are also black. It wasn't till after he found out I was Nigerian that they started to act with a little respect.. Which tells me that if they thought I was American they would feel like it would be right for them to disrespect me but when they find out I am a different black person from a different country the response was not as aggressive.. It was not till I got back home that my wife and my son pointed out that they messed up the back of my head and she said it looks like it was intentional because of the way it was done... I did not get WhT I thought I paid for And this was the specific reason that I asked for a master barber who was older. I felt scammed because I was lied to by the staff here just so they could earn business, The business here was very dishonest And ignorant on the guy who wanted to argue with me, he was very hood and ignorant and they hire hood people who will disrespect you to your face as you are paying the money that is not customer service and that is not how you run business As I was getting my haircut I notice he kept on glancing over to me wondering what I was telling the owner and I then noticed that the owner walked to the front and walked back and he said something to the owner about me thinking I was talking about him and I can tell you that mental illness is relevant in this barbershop... However the owner is a decent guy that seems to have the wrong people working in his shop... The young girl at the front desk is really hood you will be able to tell she has a backyard tattoo on her and short hair.You would be able to tell that she's very ghetto trying to sound proper This is definitely not a barbershop for professionals. As much as I love my regular hair girl, she has a habit of never cutting the back short enough. Next thing you know, the back of my head looks like a damn cockatoo. Enter Good Look. This place is right around the corner from my office which makes it an easy lunchtime stop. I've seen Keyo on a number of occasions and he's always done an excellent job getting my hair just the way I want it. Even without an appointment, there usually isn't much of a wait. The shop is always clean and the folks who work here are friendly. There is a sign-in sheet up front as soon as you enter. There are a couple of TVs (usually tuned to whatever sporting event is on) around the shop to keep you entertained while you wait. Definitely happy I stumbled into this place. Great barbershop that is well maintained with a very professional atmosphere and nice soul music playing in the back ground. They have a sign-in sheet that helps to keep things organized. Also, they are open on Sundays, take credit cards, and accept appointments during the week. I went to Will who gave me a perfect haircut that was tailored to my liking. I honestly could not ask for a better haircut. From my observations while there, all of the barbers were pretty good so don't think you could go wrong. One of the barbers gave my boyfriend the worst haircut he's ever had. He had beautiful long thick hair, just wanted it trimmed up so it wasn't on his ears as much. Awesome place if you want a nice haircut, not so great place if you expect good customer service from the front desk lady. Got my haircut by Jeff. He was great. Very meticulous and took his time for a precise haircut. Would go back for the haircut just to see Jeff. Save your money on the shampoo though. The lady up front really didn't seem to want to be there early afternoon. My shampoo lasted barely a minute. I had expected a good shampoo washing out the loose hair so I could go back to work but instead I had to drive home to shampoo again. And that's even after I tipped her prior to the shampoo. She was on the phone and ready to run out the door. Not the customer service I expected but maybe that's the norm there. Again, I'm not knocking on the haircut. I'm a car salesman...looking professional and well groomed is a part of the job description. That being said, 65+ hour work weeks make getting faded right near impossible. Enter Yelp, and Good Look. I've been to several shops since moving to Atlanta, some better than others, and my usual is University Barber Shop out near Clark Atlanta ....some 20 miles from my front door. I got hung up on a deal Saturday night, and knew I wasn't going to make it, so I hit Yelp to see if there was a barber in Marietta that cuts on Sundays. Imagine my surprise when I found one 5 mins from the job! Stopped in Sunday afternoon, signed in, and got right into Khalil's chair. When you talk about attention to detail and customer service, this place sets the bar high. I've been coming here for 3 years beginning when I lived less than a mile away and continuing to come for the last 2 years while driving 12 miles from the Lenox side of Buckhead. The shop is VERY clean, comfortable, and has a friendly and universally sociable staff. It also features a wall of big screen tvs with sporting events to watch while you wait. As with most many barbershops, conversation usually revolves around sports and the occasional political debate. Keyo is the shop owner and my preferred barber, but Myron and Will also do great cuts. One of my favorite things about GL is the complimentary shampoo and head massage before your cut. It relaxes, refreshes, and invigorates while setting GL apart from other shops. Keyo is almost always present from open to close, and I believe that's why GL has such consistent customer service. Walk-ins are welcome, but I recommend making an appointment between Monday-Wednesday to make sure you don't wait. If you do walk-in, mornings close to open are best. They do not take appointments on weekends which begin on Thursday. I will continue coming to Good Look as long as I'm in the city, and absolutely recommend it to others. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Good Look Barber Shop. I have tried 4 different barbers/stylists and everyone one of them are great. Each has their own style, but overall, you will have a fantastic experience. The free shampoo is awesome and sets the tone. Everyone here works fast but it does not feel like a factory. He's picky about who cuts his hair, but I'm far more picky and will definitely critique when it's not right. He does the same thing to me and neither one of us takes it personally. We like what we like.. and we like to keep it tight, PERIOD. Here's what he had to say about "GLBS": "Very professional and accommodating atmosphere. Music selection was very tasteful and relaxing, unlike some of the "AA" barbers. He did a walk-in and Will was his barber. He really enjoyed his haircut experience. For the 1st time in about 8 years, this barber didn't pinch his neck and leave welts. Best part of the haircut is my wife didn't have a complaint. The verdict is still out, until she gives her stamp of approval. JK.. I personally made that last comment. Hit or miss. I've been going to this place for years. Most recently, I've been a fan of Kahlil. He's a polite, cordial and thorough master barber who gives a great cut. I'm not from Atlanta originally and until I sat in his chair I didn't know that a haircut could be an experience. The hot towel, the razor on my neck, my 'lines' trimmed up... he does it all. He even gave me a discount on my birthday! They added a new free hair shampooing recently and I'm a fan. Now for the 'miss' portion. When Kahlil isn't there it's pretty bad. Keo (I believe his name is) gave me a pretty bad cut (several times) and said maybe 2 words to me the entire time. One of the other guys whose name I didn't get (had a beard and had one of the first few chairs) saw me walk in, and sat in the back for 30 minutes before he walked up and asked if I needed a haircut. No, I thought I's just come in to watch you read/text. I was one of two people there and the other was in a chair already! If Kahlil is there, prepare for an awesome experience and a great cut. If not, don't let them fool you by saying "he just went out to lunch but someone else can help you." That means he's not there and they're trying to pawn you off to someone else. I went in on a scheduled appointment with keyo, i feel like because im not his people he didn't care how my haircut came out, i came home and my girlfriend had to take scissors to the patches he left on my head. Also because he couldn't figure out my hairline he choose to cut it back to make it easier on himself and in my 30 years never had this issue. This is a nice & clean barbershop, but one thing I can not stand is a barbershop that lies about the wait time before a customer gets in the chair. This barbershop has a receptionist that does a poor job at getting customers into chairs in the order in which they entered the shop. I was told I would have a 30 minute wait before getting into the barber's chair, and ended up waiting for over TWO HOURS. Not once was I apologized to, or told I would be next or anything. Several customers came in after me and ended up in the barber chair before me. If you have all day to be sitting in a barbershop, by all means you'll enjoy this barbershop. If you have things to do and places to go, do not waste your time being lied to about when you'll be getting your haircut. read more

I've only been here once, and I LOVE this place. It's 2018, so convenience always wins. The ability to quickly schedule appointments online is a major plus for me. The care and maintenance that went into the main website is a plus too. It shows that they care about the business as a whole and how it's presented to the masses. A couple of opportunities for improvement: ****Front Desk**** I didn't catch the young ladies' names, but I would've appreciated a little more attentiveness when I arrived for my appointment. They carried on in finishing their personal conversation with themselves and someone whom I presume was the owner(?) before addressing me. This was the same case when I was leaving and ready to pay for my haircut. It would've also been a nice touch for them to stand and approach the counter when I arrived as well. (But I totally understand them remaining in their seats b/c being on your feet all day sucks lol). They also called to confirm my appointment 30 minutes prior to scheduled time, which was dope! However, I'd already confirmed a few days before via text and via email. ****Online Scheduling UX**** It can be confusing toggling through options for booking appointments by barber, date, service, etc. I frequently got lost and confused and ended up hitting the back/refresh button several times. ****Website / Email**** I'd love to see a full haircut gallery and customer testimonials on the site. It'd also be cool to receive new customer discounts or loyalty offers via email subscriber list. Also be cool to receive hair care tips via email. Just standard email marketing stuff. The automated "your appointment is confirmed" email is cool too, but the design could be a little more on-brand. Right now it just looks like a random third-party platform generated the email. Some custom CSS would be cool. Clicking the "add appointment to your calendar" function also isn't as user friendly as it could be. For example: When the event is added within iCal, it lists the location as simply "Marietta, GA," instead of populating with the actual barber shop location. CONCLUSION Overall, I've enjoyed the experience so far. My barber (Daryl) was prompt, friendly, and did a great job on my cut. I've tried several barber shops since moving to Atlanta a couple of years ago, and I'm finally pleased. I will definitely be a repeat customer! read more

TVs keep you up on the lastest news and sports happenings, there's plenty of seating and usually plenty of barbers on duty. What I like about Maurice is that he treats your hair almost as if it were a continuous project which, to me, really highlights the importance of having a top-quality barber that you go to regularly. Definitely one of the more pricey barbershops I have ever visited however being that I travel for work all over the country I decided to give this place a shot. In Utah, I can't quite get the all around service and cut I desire and this place shames anywhere I have gone in Utah. The barbers are all friendly and welcoming, greeting you the moment you come in, and once your barber approaches you he shakes your hand and introduces himself. They wash your hair before your haircut and also look like professional barbers wearing suits and ties. You can't beat this place and I will definitely be visiting again.
