Tried this place couple months ago when I moved in the area. Jay and Mary were great. Recently, there's been changes, and the shop is now called Rio Nail Center with new employees, and the quality has gone down. Still nice but language barrier made it difficult my latest visit. I came in because my last SNS set broke off on one nail so this time I asked for an extra coat because it seems the layering is easily breakable. Didn't help. After 2 days I have a cracked nail and they don't do refunds or cover the cost to fix the ONE nail I'm requesting to be fixed. Didn't plan on returning after this last nail experience anyways because it took 2 hours for SNS removal and new set on my natural nail. There was a moment where language barrier made it difficult to communicate that my nails were not straight and needed more filing. I don't know if it's because acrylic was easier for them or the new employees have different skill sets, but I'm upset that I now have to find somewhere else and pay for a full SNS removal and set so soon after getting my nails done. Katherine is sweet but is who did this last set. I also recommended the place for my friend to get a mani/pedi. Pedi was good but mani chipped after two days because Laura only did 1 layer of gel. All nice enough people, but it's a waste of money if they won't fix problems. Be cautious going here. Looks great with the new changes but the actual nail quality is the worst I've ever had. Telling all my friends to avoid especially since my out of town friend didn't have a good experience either with the nail quality. Update: For me to have gotten my nails done 4:30-6:30 PM Thursday July 11th (SNS removal and SNS) then noticing on morning of Saturday July 13th a cracked and chipped nail then Sunday July 14th a 2nd cracked nail noticeably breaking due to gently washing dishes, these nails are not quality! I've been rougher on my hands when I was a teacher and SNS never chipped like this. And the website is inaccurate because they should've been open 12-5 PM today so I wasted more money trying to go up there and discuss this issue in person in case my phone call was unclear. DO NOT GO HERE FOR NAILS. Pedicures might be fine but nails are POORLY DONE. I want my money back but since that's not possible, I'll just keep telling everyone about avoiding this place. read more

First time here. Came here for a quick nail repair of one broken nail. The man who repaired my broken nail was quick and efficient, but not very personable or friendly. The location is convenient and the inside is clean and decorated nice. I was disappointed at the variety of polishes. The were no bright orange, bright pink, or any other bright colors. They also have extremely limited choices of glitter polish (literally only a couple choices - - both were silver/white speckles). Their price board shows nail fix $4, but the guy charged me $5. And, luckily I had cash on me, because they charge a surcharge if you pay with a credit card (many nail shops do this, so I wasn't surprised, no big deal). read more

I was going here to get my eyebrows done but I'm going to find somewhere else to go because I will call and make an appointment and they have no respect for your time and always have you waiting 20-30 minutes after the time your appointment is supposed to be. 3.5 stars Came here for an SNS/dip powder manicure. The shop opened about 20 minutes late, and they have a very limited selection of sns colors (many of which have a glittery sheen - not my style). Still, the prices are reasonable so I gave them a try. Michael was my technician, and he was very nice. He took his time filing down the finish of my nails so they'd be nice and smooth. The service, however, was listed as a manicure, and he did not shape my natural nail before getting started. He also didn't touch my cuticles. Those should be standard with a manicure in my opinion, but i guess this salon is different. read more

Very unfortunate bc this place started as 4 stars. It was quite busy when I came in but I was promptly seated for a pedicure and the place was very clean. Gina who did my pedicure was great. Then as I waited for a full set and eyebrows my like of the place disappeared. I got my eyebrows and upper lip wax but it wasn't until after when I watched others get the same service did I see them dip the same stick in the same pot of wax used for everyone repeatedly. I mean they'd smear wax on a lip and put the SAME STICK back in the wax for the other side of the lip. GROSS. By this time th place has cleared out and about 4 employees were sitting around with nothing to do and yet I say and waited 30 MINUTES for my nails to be done. Why you ask? Bc someone started my nails by buffing and putting on tips saying Michael would finish. About 15 minutes in to having my nails 1/4 of the way done I asked how much longer of a wait and they said another 15. I would have paid for my pedi and wax and left if they hadn't trapped me by doing my tips. I then show a pic of marble nails with gold accent and ask Michael if he can do it. He says yes however when the moment comes he says he doesn't like that design and he'll do something else... ummm they're not your nails. I took this to mean he doesn't know how to do marble. He starts his own design and does not accept ANY direction from me. By this point I'd been in the salon for 3 hours and didn't have the energy to argue. He said he wouldn't charge for the design bc I waited so long but I don't like it anyway. Then To top it off his design rubs onto the clear top coat and gets black on half of my nails... ironically giving a marble effect. He only fixed one by repainting it white. At checkout he over charges me $3 but I just combined it with the tip. $74 for a nice pedi ($25), disgusting wax ($10+$5), and disappointing full set ($25) and mysterious $3 charge. I think for the prices they charge I should have more of a nail polish selection, as well as some consistency. I moved back to this area a little while ago. My regular nail lady is out on maternity leave so i decided to give this shop a try. I've tried a few around here so i was a skeptical but i NEEDED my nails done. My nails were done by Mandy and my toes by .... omg i can not think of his name.. but Listen.... he was BOMB! Now this place isn't fancy no roses and orange slices in your water and no elaborate menu with types of manis and pedis, but i got a REAL Mani and Pedi!! Not some quick thoughtless service... it was REALLLLL!!! My nails were cut evenly, cuticles attended to, a hand/ foot massage was provided and the paint was perfect. They were also pretty reasonably priced!!! I wore shoes without socks and my polish didn't chip! This may be my new spot. Sooooo i went back, the guys name is Michael!!! He is my new Boo!! Went here to get my lashes done because I didn't have time to get them done with the girl I originally had in mind, but still wanted to look put together. Haven't been here in YEARS. From what I remember the customer service was not good and I would feel rushed when they were doing my nails. Messed my nails up twice which led me to stop coming here. Since recently returning here they were ok but it wasn't a lot of people in here. I will say though the lashes were ok. They are $30 for regular individuals and $40 for individuals w/cat eye style. I got the cat eye style. She was pretty quick; took her about 8-10 min. I noticed she used cheap lashes and/or glue (because my right eye kept itching and I have sensitive eyes). I only had them for about 4 days and went ahead and took them off. She (Kim) was nice overall but you do get what you pay for. Consider maybe bringing your own lashes. read more

So I got my feet done and that was ok but when it came to my hands they put the old guy in there on my hands and he CANNOT DO NAILS AT ALL. Tried a new place out since I couldn't see my usual lady. Stood around for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. I told them I had an appointment but no one said anything. After a few more minutes I asked to see the Gel colors and was told to grab them. First impression. Horribly rude people. I needed my nails done so I stuck around. Michael did my nails. The quality of the work was good. The problem was sanitation. I didn't see anyone opening or using sanitized tools. The tools used for my pedicure were the same tools another employee used a few minutes before that. After service was finished they were rinsed off with water and just added back to the tool box for the next person. Very dangerous habit to not sterilize your supplies. Typical nail salon. No chemical smells permeating the air, though, and the pedicure chairs (~8 of them) looked big and comfy. 3 of us came for a pedicure. We were asked to pick colors and this was the first time in a nail salon that I felt the selection wasn't that great. I did like that they had little pieces of paper for you to test out colors on, and I settled on a perfectly fall-appropriate red-orange-shimmery color. Even though they had plenty of chairs open, they had us wait on the side until they could clean the foot tubs. We had to wait about 5-10 minutes. When we finally sat, all of our waters were a little cold for our tastes but the staff was happy to drain and fill back up at our preferred temperature: scorching hot. From here it's a normal pedicure. FYI they use scrapers and graters; I know there are both advocates and adverts out there. I didn't think the massage portion was anything amazing, more like a light rub, but everyone knows it just depends on who you get. Total cost for a pedicure: $18 before tip. I get manis and pedis regularly back home in Memphis. I had no idea where to go, and found this little spot! The service was incredible!!! My pedicurist took her time and really pampered me with her detailed precision! My feet and legs feel so soft and smooth! And my nails are sooooo shiny and professional looking! I think this is the BEST pedicure I have EVER received in my LIFE! No joke!! Also, she even expertly slid my Chacos on to my feet after without smudging the lacquer! I normally have a decent experience here. Their pedicures are nice and they do a great job with brows. When they get busy they don't keep track of the order in which you come in to be serviced. I waited today for a wax & pedicure.. 2 people that came after me got their brows waxed and the woman proceeded to begin filling someones nails AFTER I mentioned people that came after me were serviced before me. I am Brazilian and I was looking for a Brazilian Manicure so I found Dalva in the Nail Stop Salon and I have been doing my manicure and pedicure with her since then (2017) but in general, they have great people there. I like to be friends from whoever does my manicure so I can have fun and talk on the 1/2 hours I stay there so I always do with Dalva. I also do my eyebrows with Mary and she is great. I called an hour before they closed to see if it was too late to come in for a fill in. I told them I have SNS/Colored Acrylic and they told me I need a new set which is bull. The lady (Mary) told me that they don't know if they have my color--- mind you she never asked me what color I have. I have a nude to white ombré. I'll never try to give them my business again. I started going to Nail Stop when I first moved to Marietta about 3yrs who. There was an older woman working there that would give me THE BEST mani/pedi. The nails would be smooth, straight, and the polish was never streaked. After she left I've attempted going back a couple times. Each time I feel like the person doing my nails either doesn't like doing mani/pedis or they don't like who they have to do mani/pedis for. Either way, after both times going, my nails are uneven, jagged and snag on fabrics, my gel chips in less than a week, my toe nails are jagged and snag on my bedding, and the polish is streaked. After two unpleasant experiences I have to find another salon and I'm extremely disappointed. read more

Highly disappointed with my $47 gel mani plus basic pedi. The gel on my hands are lifting after less than a week! It's embarrassing and the costs of gel were not even. OMG!! It's hard to find a great nail salon in todays world who isn't all about the money but don't have the skills to match. I decided to try a different place and with working two jobs I need a nice set of nails that will last more than a week. I absolutely fell in love and will only go to this place. I am a nail salon fanatic...it's true...I'll patronize ANY shop at least once, just to tell yelpers the truth as i experienced it... I did NOT read the reviews first... i was in the area and needed a mani/pedi...simple enough right...i walk in, speak, announce my services (customary) and choose colors...the colors were old and nasty and cheap...but if y'all know me, I'm gonna find some Essie or OPI somewhere, even if I have to dig it out of my own damn bag!!! I managed to find pink OPI for my toes and glitter OPI for my fingers...the bulk of their product was china glaze...really?... it took about 15 mins for them to get me in a pedicure chair...really? there were 3 clients in there and 7 chairs empty...whatever...while i was waiting, I decided to check out the shop by going to the restroom (also customary)...I CANNOT describe it to you but guess what...I HAVE PICTURES so you can make sense of it yourselves... the people were nice enough (of course, they wanted my money)...my pedi and mani were by far NOTHING to write home (or in this case Yelp) about! I could have done a better job myself and to be honest, I usually do because guess who went to cosmo school, LMAO to become a licensed nail tech...however, that was many moons ago when I had NO idea what I wanted to do with my life...I digressed...back to this review...There was a sign that read that the shop was closing early this particular day...3pm to be exact...a customer (AA) walked in and inquired...r u open? Very quickly got a NO response....ok...10mins later, another customer walked in (non-AA) and pretty much asked the same question and got quite a different response...oh no, its ok, what would you like today? Um ain't THAT some ISH!!! I was appalled! They have SOME nerve to be racist... you have GOT to be kidding me... I can say so much right now, but I'm not...What I will say is that I paid my tab and NOT a penny over...the tip? the tip is welcome to America!!! If you are looking for a place where there is just ONE race, Thank GOD you won't find it in this country...do yourself a favor and make a better decision...go elsewhere... read more
