I wasn't able to wear them as they were, but I wanted to keep the frames. Most of the optometrists in my area were unwilling to just do the lenses. This is when I discovered Eye Glasses Direct. They were a referral from Walmart optical of all places. The owner is very thorough and made some recommendations I'd never thought of before. I won't lie...the prices seemed high, and I'm not sure he bills insurance, but for the first time in a long time I actually have glasses that work! I paid about $450 a pair for just the lenses. These were progressives that included a lightweight lens, with blue light protection, and non-glare and scratch resistant coating. Turnaround time was exceptional and my glasses were done in less than two weeks. This will be my new go to for filling prescriptions. Highly recommend.

Cleanliness and safety are emphasized. The Dr. wore a mask throughout the examination and when trying on glasses, everything was sanitized afterward. I appreciated the various equipment to measure eyesight. Cons: Prescription won't be released, until you've purchased through them. Seems unfair since the examinations were paid for. My prior provider was transparent with my prescription and I could have a copy, if desired. Frame options were limited to the more stylish and costly version. Lastly, limited hours of availability could make it difficult for some to schedule an appt. outside the hours of 8am to 5pm. They are open some Saturdays so you have to inquire with the office.

Jorge had a big smile on his face and was carrying a clipboard. He was either doing inventory or getting ready to place an order. I asked him and he went right to the product I was looking for. I thanked him and with a smile he told me I was welcome. I watched him as he continued to help other customers. I have read that Costco will soon resume allowing seniors in a head of everyone else as well as allowing the Executive people who own businesses in a head of everyone else. I am happy about this! I hate shopping to find everything gone. Or kids running around and running into you. This store and its restrooms are always super clean. The pharmacy is always fast with Sam, the Manager in charge. Sam accommodates all her customers and sees to it that they get the best drugs possible! Jeanie is the other pharmacist who looks like a teenager and she explains everything to every customer about their drugs. She is really sweet and cute. All the employees in this store are really super great! I have wanted to tip them because of the excellent service but Costco does not allow it. They used to have it so you could give a note of satisfaction about an employee and the company would reward them but they stopped that as far as I was told. She told me where I could buy the best eye care products for my dry eye issue (which I hadn't even realized I had). Of course, it's Costco, so the benches in the waiting area are hard on the glutes, even for babes like me with extra padding, but you're not there for your butt, you're there for your eyes. So get over it. Your butt may be annoyed but your eyeballs will thank you.

He told me the insurance would cover more for glasses so use that and just pay out of pocket for lenses. When I tried to get her contact prescription from them they told me I'd need to bring her in for another appointment and it will cost me $125. When I told them I originally brought her in for contacts they said he didn't measure her eyes for contacts. So basically wasted my time and money. And now I need to find somewhere to take her to get contacts and pay for another appointment.
