Everything is wrong with this place: Their online booking tool gives you available slots but doesn't bother to send out confirmation - when I showed for the slot I booked, the put upon receptionist of course couldn't find it - then explained that it was never confirmed - so no appointment. Didn't apologize, didn't offer alternatives - basically she was saying I failed so why should she risk potential damage to her manicure to do anything else than shrug? Do yourself a favor and- avoid incompetence and go elsewhere or suffer the inevitable consequences. Oh, and Lara U. The bot posing as the owner: spare me your belabored long winded excuses as to why it is not your fault. In every single negative review you comment on - you offer passive aggressive sorry for situations as if you are a helpless player - but NEVER ONCE A DIRECT APOLOGY. I'm really disappointed with the service. I've been coming here for the past two years, but they refused to approve my Costco Kirkland contact lenses because they haven't "fitted" me for them. The issue is they can't fit me for those lenses since they're only sold at Costco. It feels incredibly frustrating because this same location approved the Costco brand LAST YEAR! Seems so unreasonable to be denied approval for a product simply because it's not something they offer. Seems like they're trying to get me to buy my 90 day supply from them. My experience here has been subpar, nothing worth bragging about. I will be going to a different vision center from now on. read more

I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Santa Clarita Vision Center was truly disappointing. When I visited to ask about Meta (Ray-Ban) smart glasses, the receptionist was literally leaning back in her chair like she was poolside -- no greeting, no smile, no effort to even sit up or show the slightest bit of customer care. It immediately gave the impression that customers are more of an interruption than a priority here. Then, when I spoke with the optician, things went downhill even more. From the very first minute, he seemed eager to get rid of me rather than help. He claimed he would "call Ray-Ban" to check availability, disappeared for less than two minutes, and came back saying, "They're going to stop making those glasses; I wouldn't wait for them." That statement felt completely disingenuous -- there's no way anyone can reach a Ray-Ban rep, confirm production details, and return that quickly. For context, I went to Sunshine Optometry right after, and they ordered the glasses for me immediately -- they were polite, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. The difference in professionalism and attitude was night and day. At Santa Clarita Vision Center, no one smiles, no one seems happy to be there, and it shows in how they treat customers. I genuinely hope the owner reads this review and makes some serious changes -- because the current staff attitude is driving customers away. read more

I do not recommend this place at all. I have been a client for almost six years and had a great experience until this past year. The doctor recommended progressive lenses for the first time, so I agreed. When I received the glasses, I immediately told her they did not feel right--I could not see properly. It felt like I was looking through a fishbowl. They told me this was because I have an astigmatism. I have never been told I had an astigmatism in my life, and this was the first time it was ever mentioned--after I received the new lenses. You would think the doctor would have explained this beforehand. They made me feel guilty for requesting new lenses and were extremely rude. I sent the glasses back and received another pair, but I still could not see through them. When I returned again and explained the issue, they told me I just needed to "adjust" to them. I tried to explain that the prescription was not correct, but they insisted it was. The staff was so rude that I will never return. I spent over $500--even with insurance--on glasses I cannot wear. I do not recommend this place. Avoid it. Stay away. The people behind the counter are extremely unprofessional. read more

The eyewear staff is very knowledgeable and patient when helping you select the right frame for your budget and personal style. Dr. Umemoto, Tran and Owashi- On two occasions I walked into your storefront to look at your Tom Ford selections and both times I was turned away by your male attendant. I understand I walked in on both occasions 5 mins to 1pm (Lunch Hour) and 5:25pm (almost closing time) but I was simply there to look at the Tom Ford selection which I was interested in purchasing. I already have a prescription but the attendant refused to show me the collection even though he had the display keys in hand. In my opinion I feel it's bad customer service to refuse a posible sale and not go the extra mile for a future client. Perhaps a quick crash course on customer service will help with the importance how to best treat future clients. read more

My family has been going to this office for the last five years. All four of us wear glasses/contacts but this last experience with the office staff left a sour impression of the office. There are a ton of places to choose in Santa Clarita. My advice is to choose a different one. Here is what happened to us. My son had an appointment for new glasses. We had lunch planned after so my all four us waited for him. We were looking at the glasses while my son had his exam. The office manager was (what I can only describe as) mad dogging us. As she sent a man over to lock up the glasses we were looking at, my first assumption was that she thought we were going to steal something. But alas, even after that she continued to look at us as though we disgusted her. The remainder of the office staff seemed to join in at this point. That's when my mind wondered. We are a mixed race couple. Maybe this lady is just judging us based on that. After we purchased my son's glasses, she continued to look as us with malice as my family walked out of the door. After they had left I went to ask her why she had taken issue with my family. She told me because she thought my 9 year old was sick. SHE IS NOT SICK! I explained her health condition to the lady and she continued to say she thought she was sick. She said she was also upset we had a water in the office. A water. There is more but I think that's enough for a review. To sum it up, my family was harassed an entire visit here because someone made an ignorant judgement and thought the harassment was better than just asking. There were never any unattended children. Both my husband and I never left my daughter alone. The response by this business shows how actually terrible they are. read more

I've been a customer for 32 years. All was great until Carol retired. Now, the service is lousey. My exam was good and the doctor was great. However, my prescription was off and the glasses had to be remade. This is where things went South. It took 8 weeks and 3 trips before I received my glasses. I pay a premium price for their services and expect an active agent on my behalf. VC blaimed the lab making the lenses. Maybe so, but why didn't VC advocate daily for me? Instead, I had to call several times. Eventually I asked that rather than me do another 80 mile round trip (yes I was that loyal even after moving 40 miles away) that they just mail them to me. They balked and didn't want to do it. I even offered to pay out of pocket for the shipping. Finally, they agreed and sent them 2 day air, which ended up taking 4 days. So, I'm not going back and neither is my wife. The doctors are good and I'll miss them. The office however needs help with customer service and follow up. I miss Carol. read more

I hate to give any business a "1" but due to my experience I feel I have no choice. The front desk staff and everyone was very nice - no issue there. But I went in 2 years ago for an annual exam and also to find out if there was anything else wrong because I was experiencing severe vertigo spells/dizziness and migraines. My neurologist and ENT specialist both requested I get an annual exam. Santa Clarita Visioni Center said I needed new reading glasses (better than the store bought ones I had) and I needed distance glasses. I got the new glasses - but they were making me really sick. So I went back in and the lady optometrist I saw said she could reduce the strength. When they arrived I tried them for several days- again I was getting very sick wearing them. Went back in and her response was "you just have to get used to them". Well I couldn't get used to them because it was making my vertigo episode worse the minute I put them on and giving me instant migraines. I finally gave up. I asked for my $ back which they said they couldn't give me (spent almost 1000$ on glasses) and I went back to my CVS pharmacy readers. Fast forward to present day when a very wise vestibular physical therapist told me I should see a neuro eye doc to get checked. Found an eye doctor here in Valencia that immediately found that I had BVD - Binocular Vision Disorder. I am finally getting my life back! My main beef with this place is that they should of immediately recommended me to go see a specialist just on my symptoms alone! #2 - when my eye glasses were making me sick I shouldn't of been told "oh well" nothing else we can do. I called back this month to tell them what happened and the misdiagnosis they gave me and they still are refusing to refund even a portion of my money spent there. I asked to speak to the owner - I doubt she will call me. Just know - if you are going in for reading glasses or check for glacoma you're fine, but if you have anything else wrong with you take your chances. Also, BVD is not some "rare" condition. Apparently 1 out of 5 Americans have this! read more
