I absolutely do not recommend coming here unless you are okay with waiting hours to be seen for a scheduled appointment. They only have one doctor and clearly overbook patients, which results in excessive wait times regardless of your appointment time. Today I arrived ten minutes late, which I understand was my fault. However, after waiting thirty minutes, I asked the front desk when I would be seen and was told they did not know and could not provide a wait time. When I followed up and asked how many patients were ahead of me, I was told there were two. I then asked how long two patients typically take, and the response was about a hour or more. When I said we would leave and go somewhere else, the front desk staff had the audacity to respond that it had only been thirty minutes since we arrived. Thirty minutes is a long time, especially when no estimate can be given for how much longer the wait will be. That lack of communication is both unprofessional and frustrating. It is also clear that my being ten minutes late was not the real issue, as the patients ahead of me had already been waiting for quite some time. On top of that, my husband was seen here just a few weeks ago. He arrived early for his scheduled appointment and still waited over an hour to be seen. The real problem is obvious. They are overbooking patients despite having only one doctor on staff. The customer service here is rude, and they clearly do not value their patients' time. I will never return and would not recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy waiting unreasonable amounts of time to be seen. read more

My second time to 20/20, first time seeing Dr Carol, and I was very happy with everything. I know it was a bit of luck, but I was able to get a same day appt, the staff were very kind. I have vsp and even though there were 2 parts of the exam not covered, I was told beforehand. Dr Carol was very kind and straightforward, and helped me work with my budget and vsp to get my lenses and frames cost as low as possible. She took the time to help me understand the different types of progressive lenses and their pros/cons without trying to steer me towards anything I wasn't financially comfortable with, and told the staff member to only show me frames at or under the vsp budget. Ms. Carol- you are incorrect. I have insurance and you decided not to bill them only for the eye exam only. You showed on my invoice that you billed Eyemed 938.00 wow that's an expensive eye exam. How in the world does a bill with insurance come to 1,239.00? I asked for an invoice and what the breakdown was for a change of 1,239.00 was and the girl in the front said she couldn't tell me. I asked why she said that since I had paid some of the bill she couldn't bring up the explanation of the bill. Don't you find it odd that the dr wanted me to get 3 red eye treatments that was $400.00 each that totals the amount I was questioning. I was also asked to sign a paper before I even knew what the price was. My bill was over 2,000. and I had to pay 1,239.00 which I was told if you had charged the insurance company I would have had to pay even more money. Nobody reached out to me and my glasses are useless. So before you say what you posted maybe you should check with my insurance company. Like I've said I wouldn't recommend your company for anyone who has Medicare "DO NOT USE THIS EYE GLASS COMPANY UNLESS YOU DON'T CARE how much you are going to pay. She really wanted to make sure my new daily contact lenses were fitting properly and comfortably. First of all, I want to say that the doctors and most of the staff were really nice and respectful. If you're already familiar with the eye care world, this might be a good place for you. I didn't know what I needed since I hadn't gone through this before, and thought the doctors would know best. I went in for glasses and the doctors recommended contacts because I would only need one. I figured that would be fine especially since I didn't need it all the time and it would be less costly. They also recommended that I have a pair of back up glasses. I said yes, thinking they knew best. They gave me some contacts to test out to see how I liked them. The financial lady at the end is basically out to get as much money out of you as she can - or maybe I just look gullible. She let me rack stuff up without explaining anything to me until the final bill. Since I was just testing the contacts, I figured I could test them before making my final decision. I agreed to the price and then I had a question after she charged my card. When I asked, she said "All sales are final and I can't return anything." She told me I needed to sign a piece of paper agreeing that I knew this. They do have a sign that says all sales are final, but it's behind the front counter, but all the financial stuff is handled in the middle of the store away from that sign. Plus the sign is small and I was in there because I need help seeing clearly. She charged the contacts to my insurance and billed me straight out for the glasses which turned out to be over $1000.00. I must have misunderstood the explanation but I thought that was a total I had to pay before the insurance kicked in. She told me they billed me for new lenses that were really expensive and it was too late anyway. She told me the glasses would take 3 weeks to make. I went home and hated the contacts because they were for reading only, so every time I looked up and away, everything was blurry. I called and said I didn't want the contacts, could I just have the glasses, and bill the glasses to the insurance. The financial lady got on the phone and said it was too late because she already put the work order in and it was to a different company than the insurance would use, but since I wasn't billing the insurance any more, would I like to come in and get some prescription sunglasses? I said no. I then got a call the next day saying my glasses were ready for pick up! Like I said, maybe I'm just gullible, and maybe others have had better experience with this place, but to me... it seems like a scam. read more

My husband and I took our son in for his check up and were both so disappointed in the optometrist today. This was our third exam here and we saw a different optometrist from before. This doctor was so rude and short with our 3 year old. At first I didn't think too much of it but she was acting very impatient. And to be honest my son did pretty well. She was even able to get pictures of the back of his eyes. I had inquired about drops to help prevent my son from having as strong of an Rx that I have. The doctor said that she recommended to start them asap. She then handed me a form to sign and look over. The form mentioned some $1150 fee. I asked the office worker what that was and he yells to the doctor and asks her. She then comes out and then tells me and my husband that is the cost of the visits that go along with doing the eye drops. At no point did she or the office worker explain this when I first asked about the eye drops. She then tells us that insurance doesn't cover this treatment (which is not her fault). I explain that my husband and I will have to discuss this as it is a lot of money. Mind you my husband and I work in healthcare. Well this doctor goes on to try and guilt us into paying this fee explaining that we don't want our son to end up like me (I have a very high prescription). She said it in a way that I couldn't imagine talking to a patient. She came off as a sales person and not a healthcare professional. The office worker went over the cost of glasses with me and I asked for a copy of the printout explaining the cost. He said "I guess you can take a picture" . So I ask again if I can have a copy. He then says oh I can make you a scanned copy I guess. At this point I decided we are never going back here. I immediately called my optometrist and made an appointment to get his glasses from there. I wish I would've taken him to my optometrist to begin with but she doesn't see kids as little as my son was last year and I really liked the previous optometrist we had seen here. Oh AND the doctor kept pushing us to try care credit to pay for the $1150 fee. Again acting like a sales person and not a doctor. read more

I hate to even give one star. First and last time here. My insurance company referred me here to get a referral for Lasik. Ended up getting a regular eye exam since I needed one. Everything started off fine but by the time the doctor was writing my RX she was upselling me, talking fast and telling me that materials in my prior pair of glasses are known to cause cancer. I went ahead and looked at glasses there but was shocked when my cost with insurance was over $600. I asked for my RX so I could go elsewhere since their prices were so high. The office staff made me wait for the doctor who told me that glasses cost the same everywhere. Glad I didn't buy from them - I would have felt ripped off. I regret even giving them the business of my eye exam. By the way, got a nice pair of glasses today for less than half the price! Update - Polycarbonate lenses themselves aren't known to cause cancer and birth defects. The BPA in the material is known to cause cancer and birth defects and is found in thousands of everyday products. The risk of BPA in polycarbonate lenses is negligible. Also, I was not given other options for my glasses and didn't feel comfortable asking. I had already decided to go to a loacation I am comfortable with in Pasadena. By the way Dr. Carol, thank you for assuming times are tough for me, but I am a very well educated woman and I have not been out of work a single day due to the pandemic. I hope you don't assume things like that about all of your customers. I suppose I could make several assumptions about what I observed in your office as well. read more

I had a such a wonderful experience with the 2 lovely ladies that work the front. I needed my glasses adjusted, and they were adjusted perfectly- so perfect, and she didn't even need to sit me down etc. she just did it by sight....now thats experience! Definitely keep this one! :D Also, the younger woman came in while the other woman was adjusting my glasses in the back, and noticed me standing there... she asked right away if I needed help. It's SO nice to not feel ignored. They were both so kind and helpful. I'd definitely return. Its complimentary parking, and they are on the 2nd floor of the big building. Please do not go to this optometrist!! They will disclose your personal medical information to anyone that walks into their office. I know this because they did it to my minor child. A person who isn't on her emergency contact card walked into the office and without identifying the person they gave him all of her private medical information. This occurrence happens on 7/29/2024. Dr Carol Aivazian took this person into her office and disclosed all of my child's medical information. When confronted about the situation the office staff said they never ask people for identification before releasing information to someone. This is a clear violation of the HIPPA Act. Today my wife and I received a letter in the mail from the Dr saying they could no longer treat my daughter. Clearly they know how bad this looks for them and now my daughter who needs their services is going to suffer. I will most definitely be following up with my attorney. read more

Two stars because they were nice, all except the older woman at the front desk. However, I was very upset when I went to pay. Was told like three different things about payment. They couldn't pull up my insurance, so they said $106 for the visit until they figured it out. Someone told me they got it, and the exam had no charge with my insuance. When I went to pay, they said I had to pay $106 for "the fitting" I asked what this was and they said it was a new customer fee to see what contacts I needed. I informed them that my contacts had not changed, and she gave me the prescription I already had. They said they charge it every year and most places don't. Those were their words! VERY friendly staff with super helpful optometrist & associates. I loved how quickly they were able to see me & how honest everyone was regarding my selections for contacts strictly for Halloween purposes. Unfortunately, I knew it was going to be a challenge from the get go, as I have pretty strong astigmatism. Fortunately, Dr Aivazian was very helpful in suggesting various selections for my purpose and for helping me make a decision on whether contacts were right for me at all. The pair I did chose ended up looking exactly like the picture displayed, which was nice. Unfortunately when it came to wearing the contacts, my astigmatism prevented them from being even remotely comfortable. For a little bit I was able to keep one in, but my left eye was not having it. The look ended up working well with just one contact, so I wasn't too disappointed. Overall I'd highly suggest going here for your regular exams and or for contacts for Halloween. They're very knowledgeable, have plenty of pictures to show you examples of and are super friendly. Even then, it took only one week to receive the contacts. Great deal if you ask me! My husband and daughter have been going here for years. My daughter yearly sometimes twice a year because her vision is really bad and progressively getting worse. She decided to try contacts and they offered a contact training for $50. The trainer was kind and gave her space and respect. Quick background my daughter is 10, sensitive and quite type. After an hour of trying she finally got the contacts in and now had to get them out. This is where things started going down hill the Dr came in multiple times during our training raising her voice at my daughter telling her she may not be ready and she was gonna send her home with drops to practice. My daughter started crying because she really wanted to keep trying to get them out but she wasn't being allowed time to practice which I thought was the whole point of training. After 30 mins the Dr came in & at this point her patience for my daughter had diminished, she grabbed her chin and started yelling at her "LOOK AT ME EYE CONTACT IS IMPORTANT". She removed one and after that I told her I would remove the other because I didn't want her touching my daughter again. We both left in tears and filled with anxiety. Thats a shortened version of the stress we endured. I honestly don't think that Dr should work with children and we will NEVER be going back. read more

I stopped going to 20/20 because I felt their frames were overpriced I thought I would try again a few years later, but I found their frames pricing is still high. The highest price on the internet was $245. I paid $500 for the same frames. Most of it came out of my pocket and my vision insurance paid the rest. To top that off, I can. it use these glasses at all. If I go into a store with florescent lighting or if I drive at night everything is blurry. I found on previous glasses if the scratch protection and the glare protection is removed that eliminates the problem. I got talked into getting these again with the promise they would be removed if I didn't like them. I was told the new lenses were put in but there is no difference with the glasses. So they are basically worthless to me I sent an email to 20/20 stating the above. But also the frame cracked on the ear piece. Their offer was only to replace the frames, which doesn't matter since I can't use the glasses anyway read more

Dr. Carol Aivazian was very thorough and very caring. On 12/6/16, I went in for an eye exam. Carol did a test where I needed to follow her finger from left to right while keeping my head straight. My right eye could not follow her finger to the right. She said that I needed to see my doctor. She called my doctor but couldn't get me a quick appointment, so she wrote a letter for me to take to the ER. The ER doctor did the same 'follow my finger' test, then he quickly had me taken in to get a CT scan. The CT scan turned out okay but he recommended that I have an MRI. I let Carol know what happened at the ER and she contacted my doctors office again and made sure to get me a referral to a neurologist. I saw the neurologist. He did the 'follow my finger' test along with other reflex & balance tests. He is referring me to get an MRI. Carol made sure that I got the referrals and the help that she felt I needed. She even called me while I was in the ER to talk to the ER doctor. She went above and beyond to make sure that I am ok. Hopefully nothing is wrong but even if there is, it's better to know. Dr Gharabeki was awesome friendly very informative professional and explained every step along the way. Open to questions no rush you in and out kind of nonsense. Best personality she's awesome. Support staff is HORRIBLE misinform lie cheat steal your money bill you and your insurance twice then when you call your insurance to find out and call the office back they say oh sorry you caught us and we'll correct it. Don't trust anything the front office tells you or says You'll be misinformed I promise you. Huge nightmare and after calling my insurance and seeing I was way over billed charged incorrectly and charged twice and wasting nearly a hour on the phone straightening it out I'm still not completely satisfied and feel kind of taken advantage of have to go back to office and straighten it out still. But dr Gharabeki she's amazing and awesome. The front desk horrible Have had to contact this office multiple times for a month trying to get problem Fixed. Finally had to take the morning off work try and return my product which thy would only take partial back. The entire office is very nice and the eye exams are affordable. I often deal with discrimination in medical spaces but the team here made an emphasis to be respectful and follow basic courtesy. We're new to the Santa Clarita area and needed to get new glasses. We were lucky to find 20/20 Optometric Eye Care. Dr. Aivazian and her staff are super friendly, very knowledgeable and accommodating. I have seizures so Dr. Aivazian was extra careful with the "light" portion of the exam to ensure she didn't trigger any seizures. We had lots and lots of questions but she and her staff were very patient and helpful in explaining the various types of lenses that we were interested in. They're located on the 2nd floor of a center that has a restaurant so you may want to arrive a little early for your appointment to make sure you can find parking. Went here to get my eye checked for contact and glasses. The price is not bad for the services.they give you the price up front and you decide if you want to get it done. Love that. I got fitted on a couple of contacts until I found the perfect match for my eyes. The dr had me return after a week just to make sure I was satisfied with the contacts. What I liked so much was that they had the contacts in stock for 1 year supply with a mail n rebate flyer they gave me. They also matched the price of the contact because I found them cheaper online. Dr. Gharabeki and staff are amazing, kind, professional and sincere. My mother had a sudden visual issue and needed immediate care. The doctor and staff took her in quickly attended to her, making her feel like family was taking care of her. The following day Kaiser (her health care provider) couldn't provide a screening test fast enough. This office had the special technology for in depth visual screening. Dr. Gharabeki followed up on her day off making sure the procedure was ready for my mom and staff knew what was needed. The fact that she called me back on her day off to make sure my mom was taken care of blew me away! I work with doctors and have for many years. It is not often that you find a doctor so genuinely concerned about your care that they take their own time to make sure all is well. This is the best optometrist I've been to, after trying many in and around Santa Clarita. I walked in, was able to get an appointment, results, and glasses all with waiting less than 5 minutes. My glasses were ready within two hours, reasonably priced, and exactly what I wanted. Not only is this the first time my prescription was perfect and corrected my vision - but the office staff is amazing and everyone is sweet, and genuinely seems like they want to help you out! The office is very clean and they constantly clean the equipment and the office furniture; very hygiene conscious staff!! They were well prepared and had all my paperwork done ahead of my visit. I would not recommend this place, they are all about profit, profit, profit. They would not sell me frames only through my insurance because they claim they could not get an authorization code. When I called my insurance, they gave me a code which they would not take. They wanted me to buy the frames and lenses which cost me more out of pocket. When I told them I would like to purchase frames only, the nice friendly demeanor changed real fast. Don't get scammed, shop around to find the best deal. They even told me that other places are not as high quality and that's the reason for the high price they charge. That's saying that every other place has poor quality.
